Asset Posting date different in Book depreciation and IFRS depreciation.

Hi SAP gurus,
i have a problem in Asset Accounting.
The posting date of the asset is taken as 05.05.2008 in Book depreciation and it is taken as 28.02.2008 in IFRS books..
How do I change the posting date to 05.05.2008 from 28.02.2008 in IFRS books.
I have tried to reverse the transaction in IFRS but these transactions have no effect on Fixed assets register.
Please help me.
Thanks
Hari

Hi Hari
Did u try to reverse thru FB08 or AB08
All Asset accounting documents posted which needs to be reversed should be reversed with AB08 not FB08.
Secondly I believe IFRS is one of your dep area. Did you do a transfer or acqusition and  what is the relation of IFRS dep area to Book dep area?

  • Posting date based check in SES and miro

    Hi experts
    there is requirement of following
    1. service entry sheet creation/posting date should be equal to or greater than PO document date
    2. Invoice verification (miro) posting date should be equal to or greater than service entry sheet or GR posting date
    Please suggest .

    Hi,
PO, SES and invoice data are stored in different table individually.
To control posting of SES and Invoice with your restriction, you can go for development by using user exit OR badi with your own logic(discuss with ABAPer)

  • How to check  which column data differs from master table and archive table

    Hi All,

data in a.a1 is same as b.b1 and a.a2 is same as b.b2 like that.

    thanks Sven W. ,
above reply clearly shows what my question is.
one column must be primary key, based on that key i need to find out which are the fields having different data..
im strugling with this, i tried the following already, but not able to get.
select the columns from a MINUS select the columns from b.
-- from this i can find whether the difference occurred or not.
but i cant able to get which are the fields value changed.Good. Then you would match the rows using the PK column and need to compare the columns
Instead of a MINUS + UNION ALL + MINUS we can now use a FULL OUTER JOIN
It is a little task to write out all column names, but 40 columns can be handled.
This statement would show you both tables with matching rows on the same line.
    select a.*, b.*
    from a
    FULL OUTER JOIN b on a.id = b.idNow filter/check for mismatches
select case when a.col1 != b.col1 then 'COL1 value changed'
                    when a.col2 != b.col2 then 'COL2 value changed'
                    when a.col3 != b.col3 then 'COL3 value changed'
             end as compare_result
            ,a.*, b.*
    from a
    FULL OUTER JOIN b on a.id = b.id
/* return only non matching columns */
where (a.col1,a.col2,a.col3) != (b.col1,b.col2,b.col3) You might need to add nvls to take care of null values. Test this!
Another way could be to group upon the primary key
    select *
    from (
      select id
               ,count(distinct col1)-1 cnt_col1
               ,count(distinct col2)-1 cnt_col2
               ,count(distinct col3)-1 cnt_col3
       from
         select 'A' source, a.*
         from a
         UNION ALL
         select 'B' source, b.*
         from b)
       group by ID
/* only records with differences */
    where 1 in (cnt_col1, cnt_col2, cnt_col3)
;The count columns will hold either 1 or 0. If it is 1 then this column has a difference.

  • Different Address Book name and Mail recipient name

I sync my mobile phone with my mac so all my contacts are in Address Book (and hence are the same as my Mail.app addresses).
I add details to the name fields in my mobile phone (eg wife's and children's name) to remind me when someone calls.
    eg.
Bill Smith's wife's name is Jane and his kids are Tom and Sue. So the mobile phone contact might be:
    Bill (Jane, Tom, Sue) Smith
That works fine for my mobile phone, but when I use the same contact for email the recipients see "Bill (Jane, Tom, Sue) Smith". Not very professional.
I realise I could maintain two contacts for Bill (one with his phone numbers, and the other with his email address) but is there another way? Can I tell Mail to use a different field for the name or even just display the email address with no name at all?

This is a very strange problem that I am suffering since 2 years ago.
It seems that Mail.app likes to autocomplete your address book contacts with mail information but it makes it wrongly.
This can be avoided by several ways:
-unchecking that option in Mail/Preferences/Composing (I'm Spanish, so I'm not sure if that is the correct menu) but this also turns off the autocompleting when entering addresses in the "To:" form.
Apple should make different checkboxes because they are different options...
-putting spaces when surnames not needed so Mail thinks it is completed and won't autocomplete it
-Checking and deleting "Previous Receipts" menu because here starts the problem. If here the name is ok, it will remain ok but if here appears dupicated it will be duplicated very soon (I'm not sure when actually) so check it, correct it in address book and delete the entry from previous receipts.
-LAST AND BEST. Stop using previous receipts, it will still autofilling the "To:" form with your addressbook contacts but you don't have to check previous receipts every time you send a mail. Delete all the list, close mail and enter "defaults write com.apple.mail SuppressAddressHistory -bool true" in Terminal.
    Greeting from Spain.

  • Difference between Unplanned depreciation and Manual depreciation

    Hi Experts,
Any body tell me what is difference between Unplanned deprecation and Manual deprecation in Asset accounting.
    Reg,
    Raj.

    Hi,
First of all an asset will have dep keys.
These dep keys have the control for calculating the automatic depreciation.
If you maintain a a normal dep key, this will automatically forecast the depreciation for the open FYs.
Apart from the above planned ordinary depreciation, you can post unplanned depreciation also, if any unforeseen conditions happen.
For ex: on 31.08.2009 your asset's NBV is 5000 (after aug dep run also), but if you feel that (client) this asset's value is further down according to the current market value, you can pass a unplannned depreciation (ABAA) for an amount of 100. So with this transaction your asset's NBV as on 31.08.2009 will become 4900.
by passing ABAA, system will not post any accounting doc, since it creates and AA internal document. So you need to do a repeat dep run for the aug period, then the system will check the asset for any unposted planned/unplanned depreciations to it. So at this point system will pass that amount to accounting
But where as manual depreciation is concerned...
you cannot post any unplanned dep to an asset, which is having dep key, that does not forecast planned dep values for the open FY.
dep key MANU is the standard dep key, which will not forecast any planned dep to it.
Check the above said standard dep key for credentials of it.
    Hope you understand...
    Thanks,
    Srinu

  • Depreciation run from the posting date

    Hi Team
My client want deprecition to be posted from the Posting date instead of start date of the document period
he is trying to  post assets through F -90 it calculates depreciation from the
start date of the doc. period
    Eg., Asset no 8000000049
    Document date-11.11.09
    posting date-21.11.09
depreciation is calculated from 01.11.2009 but he want from 21.11.09. further
if the document month and posting month are differenet the depreciation
is getting calculated from the document month. But he want depreciation to be posted from posting date only in both scenaio's
Kindly give us info -any config changes can be done, give necess. steps to follow
    thanks
    Bbindu

    Hi,
Please go to your asset master (AS02), and see which dep key is assigned to your book depreciation area in depreciation areas tab.
Then set your COD with OAPL.
Go to AFAMA and choose your dep key, which you found in your assset master, double click on the dep key...
There one check box will be available as Dep to the day...select it. SAVE
Now check your asset in AW01N, now it will calculate dep from asset posting date.
    Thanks,

  • YTD and accumul. depreciation have the same value when dpis is 2 years ago

    Hi all
I am using FA and i have some problems. I have just setup this module and now i want to migrate assets in the system. The customer gave me an excel with the following fields that want to be in the system like: asset cost, accumulated depreciation, date placed in service, ytd accumulation and so on.
    the problems are:
    1) when i want to enter new asset manually the ytd depreciation and accumulated depreciation are required to be equal. ok so far, i register new asset on test environment and when i enter the date placed in service for example two years ago (because that is the real date placed in service of the asset) and run depreciation, the system has calculated correctly the accumulated depreciation, but has calculated the same value even for YTD depreciation which is not true, because in this case accumulated depreciation and ytd depreciation are completely different. how to solve this problem? How can i put correct values in this fields?
    2) when i enter these assets directly in the fa_mass_additions table according to the fixed assets user guide, i have the following errors: when i put "ON HOLD" on queue name, and open these assets on the system, the on hold field has no value (is empty)
When i try to run post mass additions, the report is not finding the parameter (book) because the system is giving en error message telling me that there is no value in this list of values
please help to solve this problems because i am not being able to migrate assets for the company.
    Thank you and best regards

    gaskins,
You may have different Color Settings, and if you use Pantone you should be aware that the whole interpretation has changed (a number of times, most radically recently).
If you say more, more can be said.

  • Asset transfer date

    Hi,
Thanks for ur response, till now we were not run the depreciation from the golive date, now they were reconciling the depreciation in AW01N with manually for the last fiscal year 2007 to run the depreciation. In the asset transfer date(IMG) it is showing 31.03.2005. I think somebody changed the take over date in asset transfer date. In Asset explorer (AW01N) it is showing difference value in Ordinary depreciation while comparing with manual depreciation and also in AS92 it is not showing the take over values getting green colour message as "Asset was not created as old asset data record - (Check your entry)" I had checked in development server. if I changed the Asset Transfer date it is asking the recalcuate the depreciation. My doubt this is correct solution, if it is correct shall I do this directly in Production. Kindly helpme in this issue.
    Regards,
    Prasad

    Hi,
This defending upon your fiscal year varient.  Is it Jan - Dec or Apr-Mar.
If Jan to Dec, change your asset transfer date to 29.02.2008 and upload it in any of the day in march or later.  In this case, you have to upload all the assets purchased during last year with acc. depreciation and current yr procurement, you have two option, upload with 2 month dep or upload without dep and run the dep on 3rd month for period 3, it will post all 3 months dep at once.
If Apr-Mar,  keep the data as such, upload the data on 1st Apr.  All previous year procurement should be uploaded with acc. dep.
    Hope it helps

  • Asset tr date error coming again

    HI all
when iam trying to create a legacy asset using tcode as91, error message displaying like----
Current fiscal year 2005 has to be after transfer date 31.03.2007
    Message no. AY252
even i tried tcodes OAAQ/OAAR/AJAB/AJRW----still i am getting the same error message
so what i need to do now, help me regarding ASAP

The capitalisation date entered in you legacy asset can only be before and up to this date enterd in (Specify Transfer Date/Last Closed Fiscal Year) and cannnot be later than this date.
As for values if you are taking on historical values i.e. APC, Accumulated Depreciation, and Ordinary Depreciation Posted then follow logic:
    APC = Historical Cost
Accumulated Depreciation = Up 31 Dec 2006 (End of prior year)
Ordinary Depreciation posted = 1. Either Let SAP caclulate and  post the depreciation for the year it will do a lump sum catch up in your next deprection run. or Enter the deprectaion posted in your legacy system in the field in AS91 - Takeover values up to the last period but then make a setting in:
Asset Accounting-> Asset Data Transfer->Parameters for Data Transfer-> Date Specifications->Specify Last Period Posted in Prv.System (Transf.During FY)
and enter the last period depreciation was run in your legacy system and SAP will post only the depreciation for the next period based on you depreciation key config
    Hope this helps

  • MIRO(Invoice Verification) posting date is lesser than MIGO(Goods Receipt)

MIRO(Invoice Verification) posting date is lesser than MIGO(Goods Receipt) posting date.
    Explanation:
Miro sholud be posted after the GRN has posted. It means that the Posting date of Miro should be greater than or equal to the Posting date of Migo. But I am facing the issue that I can able to post the Miro before the Migo date..
For example:  I have posted the Migo(Goods receipt) document with the posting date u2013 10.8.09 and at the same time I can also able to post the Miro(Invoice Verification) posting date as u2013 5.08.09. This is should not be allowed . Kindly give me the solution. Is there any options in SAP standards to restrict this type of Postings(without using user exit).
    regards
    Varadharaj

    Hi
you  need to use BADi for this INVOICE_UPDATE
you can give logic as whil;e MIRO system will compare posting date with MIGO doc , then create a Z error msg in se91 nad assign it in that badi
take help of ABAPer, check following link
    [LINK |GR date lesser than the PO date, the system should show an error message.;
