Asset Report to check periods in Closed Fiscal Year

Hi Gurus,
Would want to check what other standard SAP t-codes that could be used to check the periods for the closed Fiscal year in asset reporting? i.e. FY 2008 closed, would need to check asset balances, NBV, etc for period 7, system prompts an error and could only execute for period 12.
Appreciate feedback
Many thanks

Hi
If you are using the report S_ALR_87011963, following is the limitation for it.
You cannot run a report for any day you choose within a period. The
following restrictions apply to the report date:
o   If the report date is in the past, or in the current fiscal year:
You can use the end of a fiscal year or the end of any period as the
report date. If the fiscal year is already closed, you can only use
the end of the fiscal year as the date.
o   If the report date is in a future fiscal year:
The system always uses the last day of the fiscal year as the report
     date.
o   If the report date is the first day of a fiscal year:
To ensure that the values for the beginning of the fiscal year are
same as those for the end of the previous fiscal year, the
system runs reports with the report date 1/1/YYYY for the date
12/31/YYYY-1 (the same applies for a non-calendar fiscal year).
If you want to run report for forcating depreciation and NBV, use TCOD - S_ALR_87012026

  • Asset still showing planned  value for closed fiscal year.

*We have a situation:-  After we ran depreciation for Dec 2009, there was a credit memo posting done in the system for a particular asset.  Now, the fiscal year has been closed for 2009 and 2010 is opened. Jan and Feb depreciation posting has been done for the asset for year 2010, but the credit memo posting is still stuck as planned value in the 12th period of 2009. How can we take care of that?  I canu2019t run unplanned depreciation for 2009. Is there a better way to take care of this?  I thought about opening year 2009 for the asset (ccode) and then running unplanned depreciation. Will that be a problem? If yes, what other solution can be proposed.*
    *Appreciate the response.*

    Hi,
If it is not possible to open the fiscal year because audit
has already been completed we have a workaround which is not quite
correct from the legal side ist thereport RACORR20_A from note 29694.
If in table ANLC there are differences between posted and planed
depr. the report simply makes: planed = posted.
    The correct way would be:
->  Reopen your GL for FY 2008 via OB52.
    ->  Recalculate values  (RAAFAR00)
    ->  RAPOST2000
    ->  RAPERB2000
    ->  RAJABS00

  • Without run depreciation they have closed fiscal years

    Hi all
In my development system without Depreciation Run they have closed fical years.
They did not run depreciation from 2003 and 02 period.
    present fiscal year is 2007.
How can go back and how can i run depreciation from 2003. Please tell me clearly.
    It is very urgent.
    Thanks in advance.
    Krishna

    Hi,
    as far i know,
you cannot close fiscal year without running depreciation until period 12.
you said that your present fiscal year is 2007? is it FI Fiscal Year or Asset Fiscal Year?
If 2007 is FI fiscal year and your Asset fiscal year is 2003 then you want to run the depreciation for 2003, You must open FI fiscal year for 2003 until 2007.  Use t-code : OB52 to open FI fiscal year.
You can check the last closed fiscal year for ASSET in t-code : OAAQ.
    Hope it can help.

  • Change in Specify Transfer Date/Last Closed Fiscal Year in Asset Accounting

    Hi,
While uploading the asset master data and values,I have given the Specify Transfer Date/Last Closed Fiscal Year date as 31-12-2008.But as per the fiscal year 4-4-5,2008 closed on 03-01-2009.
what are the consequences,If we change the Specify Transfer Date/Last Closed Fiscal Year date from 31-12-2008 to 03-01-2009 as the 2008 closed on 03-01-2009.
Kindly give me some inputs regarding this change.
    Thanks
    Supriya

    Hi
    Please note
I you change the transfer date to current FY date , system will not allow u to upload data in PY.
    See the below
    Transfer Date
This date determines the status of posting to be used for the
transfer (posting up to this date will be included in the transfer), not
the actual date the data transfer is carried out. This specification
also determines whether you want to perform the transfer during the
fiscal year (with transfer of posted transactions/depreciation in the
current fiscal year) or at the end of the fiscal year (without
    transactions).
If the transfer date is not the last day of the fiscal year (according
to the fiscal year variant in FI), the system interprets this as
transfer during the fiscal year. The system cannot transfer any
historical transactions. It can only transfer cumulative values from the
end of the last fiscal year, and the transactions in the current fiscal
year (the second is only possible for transfer during the fiscal year).
    Example
    transfer date = December 31, 1997
    => last closed fiscal year = 1997
Specify Last Period Posted in Prv.System (Transf.During FY)
You must specify the period up to which depreciation was posted in the previous
system. This period refers to the posted depreciation that is to be
transferred during old assets data takeover.
    Thanks

  • Posting in Asset Accounting in closed fiscal year

    Hi
We are in the fiscal year 2009 and my client wants to open the closed fiscal year 2008 in both Asset accounting and Finance.
Point 1  :   The requirement is they want to post some correction entries in April 2008 -Let me know what needs to be done in terms of depreciation posting etc to do a 2008  yearend again.
Point 2  :  Any specific steps to do a full year end in 2008 now to balance Asset Accounting and Financial .And to carry forward balances as to where we are now in period 10.
    Please advice.

    Hi,
if you open 2008 and post, you have to process the full fiscal year end close procedure. AFAB, ASKB, the whole story.
You don´t have to worry about the carry forward, this will be done automatically by the system.

  • Asset depreciation in a closed fiscal year

    Hello,
After closing fiscal year 2010 we noticed that asset "A" start depreciation date was incorrectly set to December, 15.
Now we have corrected this date to December, 1. SAP have re-calculated the depreciation so we have aditional USD 600 planned for December. (we have UDS 600 posted + USD 600 planned).
Is there anyway to force those USD 600 to be posted on the new fiscal year 2011?
Is there any other way to arrange our depreciation issue withhoul opening 2010 for posting?
    Thank you in beforehand.
    Juanma.

    Hi
I believe, OAYF is relevant for recalculating asset accum dep during Legacy data transfer.... I dont know if it would help in this case
If you have not done the FY 2010 closing, system wont allow you to close till the time all planned depreciations are posted...
Refer note 619969... You can run AFAB for Period 13 and post the dep in Period 12.... After that, do a balance carry forward
However, if you dont wanna post in 2010 any more, then dont change the Dep Start date.... Let it remain as Dec 15.... You can post Unplanned dep for Jan 2011 using ABAA - Followed by AFAB (Unplanned option)

  • 0 fiscper3 (posting period)and 0fiscyear (fiscal year) in bw report

Hi I need a quick help, please resolve my issue in step by step. Report is required to display the 0 fiscper3 (posting period)and 0fiscyear (fiscal year) in bw report. I have a 0fiscper Fiscal Yr / Period in my datasource and infosource but not 0fiscper3 (posting period)and 0fiscyear (fiscal year). Can any body help me how to add the abap code to convert the 0fiscper Fiscal Yr / Period to display 0fiscper3 (posting period)and 0fiscyear (fiscal year in report or how to add by abap code 0fiscper3 (posting period)and 0fiscyear (fiscal year)in datasource. User will select the value of 0FISCYEAR
Fiscal year during the execution of report. please help
    will reward all points.
    thanks
    soniya kapoor

In de update rules from infosource to datatarget you fill the rules like this:
    For 0FISCYEAR:
      result = comm_structure-fiscper(4).
    For 0FISPER3
      result = comm_structure-fiscper+4(3).
Note that this can also be done by using formula's. If you can't ABAP you may prefer to use formula's.

  • Planned dep in closed fiscal year

    Hi
We have done a change(reduced the useful life) in the useful life of the asset in the Fiscal year 2009 in the  month of June, which impacted the  previous year depreciation amount. The planned  dep value got increased in december 2008 .In the posted value tab in asset explorer for year 2008 it displays the planned dep in dec 2008 which is not yet posted. We donot need this depreciation to be posted. We need to delete the planned dep.Financial year and Asset year till 2009 are closed.
Please advice how to get the planned dep line removed from year 2008 which effects the net book value.

    Hi,
Are you absolutely sure the changes were made when the fiscal year was closed. Maybe you need to also check if the depreciation area(s) affected was/were open at the time (OAAR). It should not be possible: if the fiscal year and all depreciation areas are closed, changing the useful life should not affect these closed years/depr.areas.
Changes to depreciation conditions (e.g.useful life, dep.key) only affect the planned depreciation in open fiscal years. There is no specific transaction.
The adjustment for the depreciation of the closed fiscal year will be reflected in an adjustment posting in the next period due for depreciation posting in a catch-up posting (or smoothing if indicated). For the open fiscal years the newly calculated depreciation will be distributed equally over the remaining useful life.
Therefore it sound to me very peculiar that planned depreciation should have been created in your closed fiscal year due to a change of useful life. Please review your change documents to ensure depreciation areas and fiscal  years were closed at time of change u2013 and have not been reopened either via OAAR or OAAQ.
To answer your last question regarding if change of useful life will affect deprecation in 2010:  provided that it is the only open fiscal year and is in fact the current fiscal year, then yes, it will affect the planned depreciation in 2010 and in the remaining useful life.
    Kind regards,
    Brigitte

  • Transfer on last day allowed only in closed fiscal year

    Hi Guru,
Client kept asset transfer date as 31/10/2010 first, uploaded some asset on this date, due to some reason asset uploading was not completed for all the asset. so all the asset value which was uploaded on 31/10/2010 was done as zero.
Client took decision to upload all the asset on last day of FY 10-11 i.e 31-03-2011. transfer date was changed as 31-03.2011 and moved up to quality, unfortunatly rquest was not moved to PRD and while uploading to PRD again 25 asset got uploade  by transfer date as 31/10/2010, when realized transport req of change transfer date is moved to PRD and abt 50000 asset of total 70000 asset got uploaded.F.Y 2010 was closed while uploading this assets
Year 2010 was again open for posting of cj88 transaction.
When we are uploading balance  assets in the system  getting error message Transfer on last day allowed only in closed fiscal year
When tried to close FY 2010, system is giving message ' Depreciation not posted completly' for 25 assets.
i tried to do value as zero for these asset through as92 but system agiain giving message Transfer on last day allowed only in closed fiscal year
so situation is we are not able to close FY 2010 and thus assets are not getting uploaded. if we run depreciation for said 25 assets for year 2010 it is not proper because actual  transfer date is 31.03.2011
    Please Help
    Regards,
    Shekhar

    hi,
go to customizing and under asset data transfer - parameters for data transfer - date specifications - specify transfer date/last closed FY--- you need to place the last day of the period where you have last run depreciation for the legacy system and make sure that I am assuming at this stage will be the previous period or this period.

  • Depreciation Run for closed fiscal year

    Hi All,
We bought some assets on 2005 through direct purchase and these assets are in under operation, but not having the asset master record in the SAP system.
Now we have decided to bring these assets into the system as the capitalised date is 10 Nov 2005 and for this purpose, we had created the asset master record and applied the t.code: ABNAN to post the values to these assets.
<b>"My concern is about how to provide the depreciation run to these assets for the closed fiscal year from 2005 to until Nov 2007.The present closed period in the production system is 2006".</b>
I request you to all kindly give your values on the above mentioned issue.
    Thanks with regards,
    Ran

    Hi
Just give the dep start date as 10 Nov 2005 and run the dep for the current posting period the depreciation will get posted for the year 2005 and upto the current period,in the current posting period.
As the past reriods are all closed you cannot post dep in the year 2005.
You will have the whole dep for that particular asset posted in the current posting period.
    Hope this helps
    Good Luck

  • PERIODIC CALC for Fiscal Year Aug - Jul

    Hi,
I am currently having issues with my fiscal year.  Our physical year is from AUG - JUL.  The application is a YTD so the periodic measure is a calculation.  On processing and optimizing the legalapp I noticed that the calculation for periodic resets to include NOT INSTR("TOTALQ1JAN",[TIME].PROPERTIES("PERIOD") as part of the calculation for each instance of my account hierararchy.  On changing teh TOTALQ1JAN to TOTALQ1AUG directly in the MDX my periodic calcs work correctly again for those periods, however once an optimise is run again the calc is reset.  This is now also possibly causing us problems with our account transformations for opening balances.  I have had a look at appset parameters and application parameters and I can't seem to see where the first period of the fiscal year should be set.

There are no specific problems with this beyond the logic / stored procedures that rely upon the property.  I suggest checking the logic you've implemented as well as any input schedules / reports that may reference the property to ensure they are working properly. If you need to store AUG as a property of August, then you can add another property to hold the propery month abbreviations.
Unfortunately, the YTD measures assumes that all apps are calendar year.  The note from product support indicated that the issue is resolved in the 7.0M release.  Once your client upgrades to 7.0, you should be able to change the property value back AUG.
Just a case of a developer making an assumption that didn't work in the real world.

  • Changing Depreciation Key for Tax for closed fiscal years -

    Hello,
Hoping someone can help me with this question - Is it possible to change the depreciation key for closed fiscal years - we need to change it for Tax - books. And if yes - does it mean we need to open closed fiscal years ??
    Thank you,
    Richa

    Hi,
you will need to open the FI and AA periods. After changing the depreciation keys do the necessary dep run and close the books in the correct sequence. There should not be problem.

  • Closed fiscal year

    Hi,
Could someone advice me on this situation?
I have created new company code by copying old company code. I have setup the configuration for GL, AP, AR, CO and AA. Then I have tested the standard transaction including asset depreciation run in QA system.
Client gave me the error when they are trying to test asset transfer (AS91). The error belong to last closed fiscal year.
    My question are:
    1. Can I change take over date to early year as 2005? Actually closed year is 2007 (copying from old company code)
    2. Is there any effect to depreciation of asset?
Please advise and point will be reward for helpful answer.
    Thanks and Best Regards,
    Bird

Ideally asset takeover date must be in the last closed fiscal year.  If you give a date in 2005 as Takeover Date system expectes depreciation postings in 2006 and 2007.

    soniya kapoor

    Hi Soniya,
Y don't you enhance ur datasource with these fields?
Anyways the workaround could be add 0FISCPER3 and 0FISCYEAR in ur data target, and write ABAP code for it in transformation.
Map 0FISCPER with both the fields, and now click rule type of both the fields independently.  Select rule type as routine.
0FISCPER stores data in format YYYYPPP, so you have to write code accordingly.
Likie in 0FISCPER3 assign last 3 digits of 0FISCPER to 0FISCPER3 and first 4 to 0FISCYEAR.
Suppose u have pne temp variable with name fis_yp which stores value of 0FISCYEAR. For getting period from it you have to write:
    period = fis_yp+4(3), ( 3 characters from 4 place)
    and similarly for year,
    year = fis_yp+0(4),  ( 4 charaters from 0 place)
I hope now u can write code for it easily?
    KJ!!!
