You can assign multiple position to single employee, based on the Employment Percentage in IT001, you can assign multiple position.
This concept is especially called Concurrent Employment. Assigning of multiple position, in Concurrent Employment, SAP has developed in such a way that, it will synchronize your Work schedule and show it one screen and payroll will calculate the amount from various assignment.
I have posted the Wiki about the Concurrent Employment in the Wiki section. If you want go through that, you will get little idea.

Headcount report when multiple position for an employee at particular time
Hi
I have to develop a headcount report which will show the employee count by each personal area. Now i can simply bring in headcount data from the R/3 by standard source system. My problem is that one employee can have multiple position at a time. In standard routine every record is assigned headcount by 1. Now problem is that there are multiple records for an employee as multiple position are assigned at the same time which will lead to wrong headcount.

Can you write your report off of 0EMPLOYEE or did you change the key to include position? Just include employee group and employment status to determine who your active employees are.

Multiple Positions for One Employee (OrgChart Campaign)
I am trying to determine if the OrgChart campaign offering will meet the needs of my client. They have an interesting setup where they assign one employee to multiple positions (example: 50% to one position, 50% to another position, etc). I want to confirm that the OrgChart campaign offering will pick this up and reflect each position and its holder even if the holder is represented in another org unit attached to another position. I assume this is possible since it uses the O-S-P relationship search but since we have trouble with some of the standard SAP reports returning only one position I just wanted to check.

Before I start you may wish to use TVN OrgChart 2.1 which was recently released on Service Marketplace as it contains all the functionality of the Accelerated Campaign offering with a bit more functionality and some bug fixes from TVN2.0.
OrgChart's standard functionality in this area is to show a node (box) for each position. Where two or more people sit in the same position it shows a node for each of these employees.
In your scenario where a person sits in two positions within different orgunits, OrgChart will represent this as two nodes - one in each orgunit.

Updation of Personnel Area for a position and an employee after hiring.
Hi Experts,
I have query regarding Personnel Area updation for an employee.
Here is the scenario :-
An employee was hired to a Position with personnel area "A". In future, the Personnel area for this position is chnaged to "B". Now the PA for this person doesn't get updated automatically.
Could you suggest how do we update the PA for an employee?

PM-HR assigning work center to employee changes position
Dear all,
I have an urgent issue, and I have absolutelly no idea how to resolve it, because it takes place in the module PM, and I dont know anything about it.
The problem is that when users go to tcode IR02 and make an asignament of a employee to a work center the system also changes the position of the employee for the work center (I mean, SAP in the back ground goes to Infotype 0001 of the employee and changes the position of the employee).
Is there a way of avoiding it? I think it is due to a bad customizing in the integration PM-HR, but Im not sure at all.
PS: sorry if this is the wrong forum to post it, I didnt find a PM forum, If you know a forum that fixes better please let me know!!!

I am not sure how you 'assign' an SFC to an operator (User). Anyway, you may use Certification functionality of ME to 'certify' some particular Users on Operations/Resources etc. KBA #1618564 may be helpful for you.

Dear Experts,
I would like to know how i can assign the same position to several employees (for example in my company I have 80 Salesmen, and I don't think or believe that I should create 80 positions in Organizational Management, one for each Salesman)
I tried to assign a position to 2 employees in OM, but the system requires that each of them should have a fraction of the 100% , which means that one of the 2 employees should work 40% and the other 60% !!!
would you please help me with that, im totally unconvinced that a separate position should be created for each individual employee in a large enterprise with 10000 employees for example !!!

You can Asign more than one employee for one position. even with out changing the Percentage.
But as best practice says it is fair to create one position for one fulltime employee as recommended.
The solution for the query do settings as below in mentioned path u can solve.
Maintain/Change the time constraint as 3 (three) instead of 2 (two) in the below path
IMG ->Personnel Management ->Organization Management ->Basic settings ->Data model enhancement ->info type Maintenance->Maintain Subtypes
In this path
Select the relationship A008 Holder and change the Time constraint for object Position (S) Mark as 3(Two)

I want to maintain PA30 of an Employee but i don't know how to maintain Organizational Position of an Employee in PA30.

But when iam trying to take values in PA30 maintained by me in define positions then (with the help of F4) it is not showing the values maintained by me.

E recruiting Data Transfer for New Employee
Hi all,
We are implementing E-recruitment 3.0, Ecc 6.0 and E recruitment system are in the same system, we processing internal recruitment currently, here i can receive the internal applications, we can able to view and process the applications in recruiter role. Here i can execute the sequence of activities for application process group for received applications, we not integrated any XI systems for e recruitment process.
After processing the activity to be hired, the next activity is Data transfer for new employee, this is also executed successfully for data transfer of employee positions, job, org unit details etc.
1. whether transferred data of applicant is processed via transaction PA48(Hiring of transferred employees)for internal recruitment in R/3 HR system, after the data transfer activity in E recruitment portal screen ?
2. is any other roles and application url available for Hiring internal candidate which could be done in portal E recruitment screen itself with out coming to R/3 HR transactions side ? with out going into PA48 for hiring.
3. any specific roles we have assign for recruiter ?
4. any process carried out in Managerial self service?(according to me MSS is different instance to process recruitment process for internal and external recruitment for Vacancy filling) please correct me my vision on MSS.

If you are selecting the internal candidate , you need not hire the employee again using PA48. You can trigger transfer / change in position workflow using PCR form.

I dont think we have any specific action from eRecruitment side to run the hiring action.This needs to be done from R/3 only.

If its intergrated portal with the Requestor role attached in the manager profile , they will be able to carry out both internal and external candidates selection. I dont think you would require different instance.

Yes it is possible to display the employees current position. You did not however specify 2 things - where do you want to display the position and what version of E-Recruiting are you using.
From EhP4 there is a BAdi ERC_TRXLIST_CDCYL which you can use to enhance the lists of assignments to requisitions to also show the position for Recruiters. You will then configure the additional column in SPRO under nodes "Define Column Pool for Candidate Selection" and "Assign Columns for Candidate Shortlists". You can also copy and modify the smartforms for example HRRCF_CANDIDATE_PREVIEW for recruiters and modify to include the position and then configure the developed smartform. Position will be available in HRP1001 with a 008 relationship to CP object.

hi, can any one tell me, should i assign many persons to single position..?this normally depends on your business requirements.
For example if you have a position, where in employee needs to work for 24 hours, then you can assign all these 3 people to the same position.
But the issues with multiple assignment would be, if the said position is a Managerial position who will be having reporees, then that would be a problem -

We recently upgraded from 4.6c to ECC5.0 as part of this we upgraded our portal from ITS to webdynpro. We have ESS for US employees only. There is a employee who moved from Singapore to US. He is unable to update the address to US, So I updated the address in the SAP system from PA30 to US address. But the user when loggin in is still seeing the same error.
