Assign Positions to Employees

Dear Experts,
I would like to know how i can assign the same position to several employees (for example in my company I have 80 Salesmen, and I don't think or believe that I should create 80 positions in Organizational Management, one for each Salesman)
I tried to assign a position to 2 employees in OM, but the system requires that each of them should have a fraction of the 100% , which means that one of the 2 employees should work 40% and the other 60% !!!
would you please help me with that, im totally unconvinced  that a separate position should be created for each individual employee in a large enterprise with 10000 employees for example !!!
Thanks in advance
Best Regards

Rovanna,
You can Asign more than one employee for one position. even with out changing the Percentage.
But as best practice says it is fair to create one position for one fulltime employee as recommended.
The solution for the query do  settings as below in mentioned path u can solve.
Maintain/Change the time constraint as 3 (three) instead of 2 (two)  in the below path
IMG ->Personnel Management ->Organization Management ->Basic settings ->Data model enhancement ->info type Maintenance->Maintain Subtypes
In this path
Select the relationship A008 Holder and change the Time constraint for object Position (S) Mark as 3(Two)
Hope you got idea

  • Table& field names for position name(employee) in HR-ABAP

    Hi,
wht r the table and fields for the following .
exp: pa0001-plans = employee position number.
    employee position name = ?
    employee grade level = ?
employee sub grade indicator = ?

    Employee Position name:
If you have OM-PA integration active (table T77S0, key "PLOGI-ORGA", value 'X'), then the Description of the Position can be found in HRP1000, like this:
    SELECT mc_stext FROM hrp1000 INTO <my_var> WHERE plvar = <active_plvar>
    otype = 'S'
    objid  = PA0001-PLANS.
If integration is disabled, description of the positions are in table T528T (field PLSTX).
If I have understood well, employee grade and sub-grade are data that you can find in PA0008 (fields TRFGR - TRFST).
Otherwise, try to explain me these fields (if they are related to Payroll or Personnel Developement or Personal Administration or..., and so on) and I'll help you.
    Hope this helps,
    Roby.

  • HR Data Synchronization (Org Unit, Position and Employee) to SRM

    Hi All Expert,
Currently, I had replicate the HR data (Org Unit, Position and Employee) to SRM thru transaction PFAL.
Each time there is a new position or new employee, I have to run PFAL and run manually by include the new position number or new employee into the program to replicate to SRM.
Does SAP have any specifiy program or step which I have follow to allow such automation? Is there any variant that I could set?
How to trigger the new Org units which are created in HR to replicate to SRM without any manual input into selection field of Object ID during running the PFAL?
We are trying to achieve automation of synchronization between changes/new  creation in HR to replicate to SRM.

  • Org Assignment of global employees in Compensation Management

I have a problem with Compensation Management but it also relates the Org Assignment of global employees
In Comp when I try to submit an employee using transaction HRCMP001, I have an error saying no org assignment exist on 01. 01 .2008.
The business scenario is as follows. EE is hired on 01012008 in UK for e.g. he gets terminated on 31.05.2008 and then gets re-hired in another country using the Global Employee Personnel actions on 01.06.2008. In this county, he becomes eligible to receive the increase but when I try to submit, the error comes up that no org assignment exist for 01.01.2008. I have changed the settings in T582A to u2018copy infotypeu2019, it tries to reference the previous org assign infotype from 01.01.2008(which is correct but the system rejects it and will only accept the new date of the new hire 01.06.2008) thereby not referencing the old org assignment in the new personnel number.? I tried the propose infotype option but it did not do anything. Does any one have any suggestions? Thanks ever so much for your anticipated help.

You create the compensation packages using info type 0706. This info type has
Two subtypes; one for home country and one for host country

  • Which tables should i refer to know "A task is assigned to which employee?"

    Hi
Which tables should i refer to know "A task is assigned to which employee?"
I think pa_tasks.task_manager_person_id refers to the employee who is assigned a task. Please correct me if im wrong.
    Regards

    Vibhuti,
pa_tasks.task_manager_person_id should not necessary be the person whom the task is assigned.
You can try using following query:
    select distinct c.task_id TASK_ID,b.alias RESOURCE_NAME,c.task_name TASK_NAME
    from pa_resource_assignments a,
    pa_resource_list_members b,
    pa_tasks c

  • Assigning users to employee to access ESS

    Hi Friends
Please let me know why to assign user to employee for accessing ESS applications in portal.
What is the difference between user and Employee.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Krishna,
ESS i.e. employee self service is an application which comes as a Business package mySAP ERP and is precisely a set of iviews of Webdynpro application.
The main purpose of user being assigned to employee to to use the ESS appication, without which the Business package would be irrelavant.
For employees to be able to use the Employee Self-Service applications, they must be linked with a user. Each of the users has to be linked with a role. The role provides your employees with the system authorizations they require. The authorizations ensure that employees can execute the following functions:
    1. Access the Employee Self-Service applications.
    2. Display data
    3. Maintain their own data
Each employee is linked to a user via the Communication infotype. i.e. 0105
    Hope this was helpful.
    Thanks and Regards.

  • How to delete the multiple companies assignement of a employee in SRM

    Hello Friends,
In business partner maintenance (BP), one employee assigned to multiple companies in relationship tab.
Following are the entries observed in relationship tab in BP Transaction code.
    Is employee of
    xxx(BP number) u2013 Company(address type) --- xxx(description) u2013valid from --- valid to -->1st entry
    xxx(BP number) u2013 Company(address type) --- xxx(description) u2013valid from --- valid to --> 2nd entry
Ideally one employee should  assigned to one company only.
Kindly let me know how to delete the relationship.
We are using release SRM 5.0 with classic extended scenario.
The organization structure is HR Replicated.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Pithani Suresh

    Hello Ganesh,
    Thank you for providing information.
The employee is not assigned to multiple companies. The assignment is related to orgnizational unit.
In organization structure (PPOSA_BBP), the user/position is assigned to one organization unit only
    More details about this issue,
we find the relationship of the user/position in BP T.code (Relationship Tab), it is showing the relationship with current organizational unit and previous organizational unit. Ideally it should be assigned to one organizational unit. Due to some inconsistency, it is still showing the previous organizational unit.
Example: Ex: User A is replicated from HR to SRM and assigned to Dept A (org unit 1) and later User A is shifted to Dept B (org unit 2) from HR Replication.
Following are the entries observed in relationship tab in BP Transaction code.
Input is BP number assigned to of the user A central person.
    User u201CAu201D is employee of
    BP number of org unit 1u2013 Company(address type) --- xxx(description) u2013valid from --- valid to -->1st entry
    BP number of org unit 2 u2013 Company(address type) --- xxx(description) u2013valid from --- valid to --> 2nd entry

  • Error while assigning supervisor to employee

    Hi
I was trying to assign supervisor to an employee when i got the below error.
This is a production environment. The multi org setups are done in India Localization. They had attached default Key FFs in the BG and the key FFs had no segments/no valuesets...
    Responsibility: HRMS Super User
Menu used is :GLB HRMS Navigator
Request Group used is  : Global HRMS Reports & Process
I thought , might be the segments are not existing, that is the reason why the error is occuring while attaching supervisor to employee.
    *1st Error : Please choose an existing combination* ( People>Enter and Maintain>Assignment )
So I attached segments for Job and position FF. I created Job successfully , but while creating position it threw another error.
*2nd error: You can not use the datetracked window, because HR is not installed, instead use non datetracked position window.*
Normally when we do in vision instance, we dont assign any job/position but still we could attach the supervisor..then why this issue occuring in production environment. Please Help.
Edited by: Sangeeta on Aug 20, 2010 3:34 AM

"Please choose an existing combination". This error comes when you try to create a new KFF value but do not use the values allowed by value sets attached with a segment in the KFF.
Now in the assignment screen there are two places where you can create new KFF value.
    1. People Group field
    2. Statutory Information tab
OPen the assignment details for the person and check for these two flex fields. If there is any problem with the data present in any of these fields, you may get the aforementioned error while updating any field value in the assignment screen.
So check the value in these two fields and try to fix them.

  • Automatic assignment of sales employee and Sales Org for account

    Hi All
Is there any way I can assign the sales area and employee responsible automatically (based on user logged in) while creating an account?
    regards
    Subhasis

    Yes.
For employee responsible define partner determination procedure. In this partner determination procedure define for employee responsible (probably you use function 00000014) the access sequence 0004 (User).
For organization you can use organizational rile 10000194 (ORGMAN_12). This determination rule delivers the responsible organizational unit of the user. User is defined as a business partner in the container attribute 'PARTNER'. If not, the system user (sy-uname) is used. organizational unit based on the user asignment.

What else am I missing here
    Thanks
    Kumar

    Hi Diana,
Thanks for the inputs. I have rewarded points.
As per your mail, we could maintain two positions under single organization unit one with the 'head of org unit' check and the other without that. Now they both appear under the same org unit but they appear as two positions (only difference is that the icons are different).
What I am looking at is, Sales Org 1 should have a sub tree (arrow mark) with Mgr Director position, when I drop down this positions arrow mark, then I only I should be able to see the General Mgr's position (the GM's position should not appear parallel to the MD's position on the tree structure but should be within the MD's position)
Can we assign any position to the head position by any standard means ?
Hope you got my requirement clear, else let me know I can explain in more detail.
    Thanks

  • Assigning "position" in repeat region

I have a site that runs a contest and displays winners from
    across the
nation. Through the year they compete and can go online to
    see where they
stand in relation to others in their same territory. In order
    to display
the winner's positions on the page, I sort the underlying
    data in sql using
the necessary criteria, then on my asp page, as part of the
    repeat region, I
run code that loops through the recordset and uses an x+1
    method of
displaying each person's position. Whether or not this is the
    best way to
    do this, it works.
    MY PROBLEM...
Up until now I only needed to display the positions based on
    one selected
territory. So my results would always simply show 1 -x, in
    order.
    Joe territory1 1
    Van territory1 2
    Tim territory1 3
    Bob territory1 4
NOW I am being asked to show the entire nation on one page
    for
administrators. They want to see ALL the territories and the
    positions of
each person for each territory, and have the ability to sort
    based on
various columns. So now my "positions" column will have
    several people in
1st position, several in 2nd, etc.
    Joe territory1 1
    Jen territory2 1
    Van territory1 2
    Sue territory2 2
    Tim territory1 3
    Len territory2 3
    Bob territory1 4
    Ken territory2 4
I'm not sure how to go about this, and would greatly
    appreciate any advice!

In the actual case the criteria for winning is that 1) ALL
    criteria are met
(there are actually four of them, not two as shown in my
    example), and then
    2) you have the highest perentage.
So in the case below, remembering that each territory has its
    own set of
winners, it would look like this (if sorted by winning
    position - keeping in
mind that I need to allow sorting on ANY column by the user):
    name territory Criteria_A Criteria_B Criteria_C POS
    Bob 1 74% Y Y
    1
    Tim 1 42% Y Y
    2
    Van 1 25% Y Y
    3
    Len 2 66% N Y
    1
    Sue 2 56% N Y
    2
    Joe 1 43% Y N
    4
    Ken 2 82% N N
    3
    Jen 2 68% N N
    4
Here you can see that Bob, Tim, and Van all have Y for both
    their B & C
criteria, so they are sorted to the top (how I do that is
    somewhat secondary
at this point -- you can just assume that Y=10 and N=0 and
    I'll sort on the
    sum of those columns).
Then Len, Sue, and Joe each have one Y and one N, so they are
    grouped
together based on that, then sorted by percent. Note that Joe
    has a
position of 4 because he is in Territory 1.
Lastly, Ken and Jen have "N" for both criteria, so they are
    sorted last, and
    then by their percentage.
I put a dashed line in there as a visual aid -- doesn't need
    to be in my
    results.

  • Position Hierarchy - Employee Supervisor Change

    Hello,
We have few of our Operating Units setup with Position Hierarchy Approval method for Purchasing documents. We want to change this to Employee-Supervisor Relationship due to change in some of the global policies.
Would like to know what are the implications & what are the things to be taken care.
    Thanks,
    Shilpa

You will find that emp. Supervisor hierarchy (ESH) is simpler to setup and understand. But it has less functionality.
e.g. In PBH (position based hierarchy), you can submit PO's using different paths if necessary. But in ESH, the po always will go to the supervisor and his supervisor etc.
    To implement your change
    1) Go to the define employees screen (in the purchasing module if you use Shared HR or in the HRMS module if you use full HRMS). Enter the supervisor name for all employees that will submit /approve PO.
    2) Purchasing > setup > organizations > financial options > Human resources tab > uncheck "Use approval hierarchies" checkbox
    3) You can end-date existing hierarchies.
    4) You don't have to run Fill employee hierarchy program anymore.
    5) When a person leaves or there is a reorg, make sure you update the supervisor name for the employees.
    6) You need to continue to maintain approval groups and assignments as before.
    Hope this answers your question,
    Sandeep Gandhi
