Assign views to user roles

Hi,
we have created views for a particular application. Now we want to assign it to particular user "roles". Iam not sure of few things.
1) How to create a role ?
2) How to assign a particular view to a respective role?
Thanks in advance,
Raviraj

Follow given steps:
1 . For creating roles use the transaction PFCG ( Role Maintenance)
2 . After creating the role ,inorder to provide authorization access to PCUI application use the authorization object BSP_APPL.
After adding the BSP_APPL auth object ,you get 2 rows under 'Application Scenario' add your PCUI application object name and under 'View for UI Display ' add the view name.
Thanks,
Thirumala.

    Hi,
To define view and to make it default
Goto SAP IMG > Sales and Distribution > Sales Support (CAS) > Sales Summary > Define Reporting Views (Tcode:OVCD).
To assign default user to the view.
Goto SAP IMG > Sales and Distribution > Sales Support (CAS) > Sales Summary > Assign Default View To User (Tcode:OVCC).
To assign Elements of SAPScript "SD-SALES-SUMMARY" to information Blocks To A View use
Goto SAP IMG > Sales and Distribution > Sales Support (CAS) > Sales Summary > Assign Information Blocks To A View (Tcode:OVCB).

  • Assigning the End User Role for E learning management in Solution Manager

    Hello Team,
In the E Learning Management in Solution Manager, I have to a assign the End User Role for each Bussiness Process. While assigning the role, I couldn't able to assign the role of type " JOB ". What have I do to get the type as JOB instead of "Organizational Unit" and "User"?
    Regards,
    Shyjith.K

    Hi,
Have you maintained your Organizational data? Did you assign any job to any user in the organizational hierarchy. You need to maintain you PPOMA_CRM first in order to assign any roles there.
    Hope this helps

  • Access ejb-jar.xml progrmmatically for viewing the  user roles and methods

We are using Weblogic 8.1 sp 4 (jdk 1.4.2). Is there any way within our application where we can display all the methods a user can access and all the roles available within ejb-jar.xml ?
    Thanks in Advance
    DRG

Local interfaces are for communication between ejbs and their clients when both are in the same JVM. The clients can be normal clients, jsps, servlets, and other ejbs. If the client is not in the same JVM you cannot use local interfaces even though your client is another ejb.
Advantage of using local interface is it reduces the network overhead.

  • Risk Analysis at user level shows nothing in all 3 views though at role level shows risks of global rule set

I am configuring ARA 10.1 for a ECC 6.0 plug in development system and facing this issue. Risk Analysis at user level shows no data  in all 3 views though at role level shows risks of global rule set. I am using Global rule set. I generated all risks/functions & using connector group as SAP_ECCS_LG not SAP_R3_LG.I activated common, R/3 & ECCS BC sets. Added integration scenario for AUTH. Run all 4 sync jobs multiple times successfully. My system already has decentralised EAM 10.1 implemented & even used in production as BAU. I have checked at both chrome & IE. The misleading thing is that RFC is also working fine & I can see risks in Risk Analysis at role level & risky roles are even assigned to valid users.GRC is at SP4 & accordingly is the ECC 6.0 plug in. Thanks in Advance. Please  consider it urgent.

    Hi,
Assign ECC connector to SAP_ECCS_LG group.
Run the programs GRAC_PFCG_AUTHORIZATION_SYNCand GRAC_REPOSITORY_OBJECT_SYNC) in full synch mode(this might take time so better do this in background). Better do it sequentially.Check the logs of the jobs in SLG1 just to ensure everythings fine.
Run ARA for a specific user and mention the connector for faster output. Ensure this user has the role with risks. Also as explained earlier check the GUID against user id in table GRACUSERROLE and using GRACROLE you can find out the technical name of the role updated in the table. This should be same as the backend role.
Then run ARA and while doing so please ensure the selection screen doesnt have any unwanted default inputs. If followed correctly , this should be of help.  I am assuming the role analysis yielded correct risks as configured since this would mean that connector have correct actions and basic config is in place.

  • View sites without assigning "Web Page Composer" role

I have created a site in web page composer, created a "Test" role in portal and connected it with the site.
Now the requirement is to assign the "Test" role to users so that users can see the output of the sites as a visitor but they should not be assigned the "Web Page Composer" role.
I removed the role "Web Page Composer" from users and assigned them the "Test" role to view the output. As a result, they are able to open the site but do not see any content.

    Hello Arpita,
You should check the initial configuration steps from the online documentation

Do you have the Everyone group assigned to the Standard User role (eu_role), and have you assigned your test user to the Everyone group?
    Check the following documentation:

  • View Deleted Users Composite Role

    Dear Experts,
Is there any way to view the composite roles that were assigned to a user that was deleted?
I am able to go to SUIM and view the single roles but I would like to get the composite roles that were deleted.  This is needed so that we can recreate the user and assign the old roles to the user.
    Please help.
    Thanks.

If you select the "role change docs" in SUIM and use the selection criteria "overview of change docs" or "all change docs", then deleted composite roles will show up in this report. It would be handy if your composite roles had a different naming convention than the single roles.

  • Finding roles assigned to a user ?

    Hi Folks,
Is there a view that will list all role(s) assigned to a user in Oracle 11g?
    Thanks in advance

    DBA_ROLE_PRIVS will do it:
    SQL> desc dba_role_privs
    Name                                      Null?    Type
    GRANTEE                                            VARCHAR2(30)

    GRANTED_ROLE                   ADM DEF
DBA                            NO  YESAlso, you can use the same query and give the ROLE as input to the GRANTEE predicate to see what roles that role confers:
    SQL> select granted_role,admin_option,default_role from dba_role_privs where grantee='&user';
    Enter value for user: DBA

  • User Roles not limiting views

I am working on User Roles and Views in SCSM. I have created a User Role for our Development Support Staff. I have assigned only the Service Request views for that Support Group.
When I view the console with one of those users credentials, I see all Incidents, Change Management, and Problems that are in SCSM.
I have checked the User Role and they only have access to the View - Assigned to Me.
I would like to understand why this user can still see everything in SCSM and how I can go about blocking these views for all User Roles unless they need them.

User roles are cumulative. If you have user A who is in User role X that has access to all views and same user A who is in a user role that only has access to View 1, 2, and 3 then user A still has access to all views through the user role X.
In short. The users have access to all those views through another user role.

  • Assigning views to Roles

    Hi,
I am unable to assign CCM views to a role in PFCG.
Out CCM system is on a different client to EBP system, when I try to assign a view I get 'action cancelled'.
    Has anyone any ideas?
    Thanks
    Chris

Chris: to confirm your statements, I need to know what logon option you're using for CCM: SingleSignOn (SSO) or Anonymous Logon with Service User (AL).
From your post, my guess is you're using SSO, so I'll reply having SSO scenario in mind.
<i>The users who will shop must exist in the CCM client.</i>
Not necessarily. If you use the CCM-USER parameter in the call structure, then you don't have to have all your shopping users in CCM.
    <i>They only need the /CCM/CATALOG_SEARCH (or equivelant)role assigned</i>
    Yes
<i>The catalogue view is assigned to this role.</i>
    Yes
<i>This means that the web service I have defined in EBP for the catalogue shouldn't have CCM-USER and CCM-PASSWORD defined as parameters.</i>
Depends. If you create all your shopping users in CCM and assign search roles to them, then you don't need to include CCM-USER in the call structure. However, you may choose not to create all your shopping (named) users in CCM. Instead, you can create a <b>non-named</b> user for each search role in CCM. Then you can enter these users in the CCM-USER parameter in call structures. Views will be determined based on roles assigned to these users.
This latter approach makes sense, for example, if you have just a handful views/roles. So, to re-iterate, you can assign these views to roles, roles to non-named users (in CCM), enter non-named users in the call structure(s), assign logical catalog(s) as required in Org Plan (in EBP). If you're familiar with Requisite, BugsEye integration worked in a similar way (except for roles).
Note that parameter CCM-PASSWORD is not required in the SSO scenario, even if you use CCM-USER.
    Cheers,
    Serguei

    Balu,
Well this issue has been discussed many a times in forums. You would have to point your data source to ABAP system.
Check this thread in [here|J2EE Failed to start  , after changing UME datasource;.
    Good Luck!

how to get the list of roles assigned to a user in all the child systems from CUA SYSTEM

Try transaction SUIM in your CUA system. Go to user, cross-system information, users by roles. If you run it wide open, you'll get all users and all roles assigned for all systems managed in your CUA.

  • Problem assigning internet user Role through portal

    Hi All,
Please could someone help me with the following:
I am creating a registration process that creates a new CRM Business partner with contact person and internet user roles. When i run the Bapi from with in CRM everything works fine however when i run my jsp dynpage application and call the same bapi, the internet user that i create does not have any of the logon details or roles. Does anyone know why this is? i am using the same user when running in crm and the portal.
    Many thanks in advance
    Calvin

    Hi Sunil,
Thanks for your reply. answers to your questions:
    1. Yes, all portal users are maintained and have the same roles as CUA users. Portal authenticates against CUA.
    2. Yes the user is created correctly on the backend. i have created a BAPI that creates users, BP's and assigns roles. This Bapi works perfectly when run in CRM but as soon as it is accessed via the portal the internet user role does not have all the required information.
    Many thanks
    Calvin
