Assigning an employee to four positions

Dear SAP Gurus,
I have a requirement from a client (fresh implementation) to assign an employee to four diff positions belonging to four different company codes.  Situation like, a sales executive being assigned to diff companies and his incentives getting paid from the four companies.
As far as my knowledge goes, I donot think this is possible.  Request your expert opinion on this and valuable inputs how this can be done.

For example: there are four positions, A,B,C and D which you want to assign one employee to them and percentage 20%, 20%, 20% and 40%
1.  you can go to PPOME and find position A, to assign this employee to this position and give this percentage to 20%
2. same as above: assign the employee to position B with 20%
3. Position C with 20%
4. Position D with 40%
so total 100% for this employee.
Please note, one employee cannot effort over 100% task.

    I need to load the assignment of employee business partners to the organizational model in PPOMA (transaction). Basically, the requirement is for a load program to:
    1) create positions and assign them to the organizational structure nodes

    Any suggestion on the Function Module to use? Or perhaps can i use IDOC for this update? If yes, what is the "basic type" for that caters for this assignment of employee BP's to the organizational model?

    Thanks for the info. I have tested FM CRM_ORGMAN_CREATE_REL_OBJ & i am able to create positions to the organization model.
    However, assigning the employee BP to position did not work with FM OM_CREATE_NEW_RELATIONS. Here is what i've done with the FM:
      PARENT_OBJ: Assign "Position" structure
      CHILD_OBJ: Assign "BP" structure
      VRSIGN: B
      VRELAT: 270
      VBEGDA: sy-datum
      VENDDA: 31.12.9999
      PERCENTAGE: 100.00
      ACTION_INFO: blank
    It did not assigned the BP to the position but instead creates another new position. Not sure why, did i left out something or does my parameter assignments are wrong?

      Once you create org.unit you can assign positions,update and remove employee from their positions automatically.Make your customizing settings for automatic organisational data determination using the wizards.When you create a transaction,the system determines the org.data according to your customising settings.You can change or enhance the or.units manually.

  • Assigning an Employee by Postion to Territory

    Hi All,
    We are facing a small issue while searching for positions in territories.
    To assign an employee, we have two options: search by position and search by employee role/Id. Employee search works fine in GUI. but search position gives " runtime errors like Time Out and Low memory space" after few minutes of search and the same error is displayed while searching  positions in Organization Model.this works fine Dev environment, but not in Quality.
    is there any Note to Correct this error? Please help.

    We faces the same problem with 5.0 version and unfortunately no SAP note was issued for that. The approach was only to search by employee responsible within GUI.
    Within CRM 6.0 this problem can be mitigated if you use Web Client thai is integrated with Portal. In this case you are able to run the search up to 5-6 minutes.

  • Issue with the assignment of Employee to the Territory structure

          User is facing an issue in the assignment of Employee to the Territory structure. When the user is trying to assign a Employee say 'x' to a Terr ID, the following error occurs 'Assignment to item failed,chenges have not been saved'. Item referred in the error is the postion. This error also occurs when the user is removing a present BP from a TerrID and adding a new one.
    The error has a description saying that the position might be locked but i dont see it being locked

    Hello Tarang,
    you can create the position via transaction PPOMA_CRM. Then you assign the position to an org unit.
    When maintaining the position you see tab 'Areas'. Here you can assign the territory for a certain validity.
    Finally you can assign employee(s) to the position. Technically the employee is a Business Partner in role 'employee'.
    So a typical representation in OrgManagement could look like this:
    OrgUnit
    -> Position1 -> Territory1
         -> Employee1
         -> Employee2
    -> Position2  -> Territory2
         -> Employee3

    Can Employee/Supervisor and position based approval hierarchy used in the same Business Group? If I have OU1 and OU2 belonging to BG1. Can OU1 use employee supervisor and OU2 use position based?

    Setup-->Financial Options-->Human Resources tab -->Use Approval Hierarchies check box. If you check uses approval hierarchies based on positions if not uses the employee hierarchy (supervisor in employee).

    Positions are generally derived from jobs.
    Thus, common tasks of the positions that are deriven from the same job should be assigned to the job.
    However, more specific tasks of positions are assigned directly to the position itself.
    e.g. Engineer is a job and computer engineer is a position derived from it.
    The tasks that are done commonly by all engineers are assigned to job (e.g. Solves problems)
    However, tasks specific to computer engineer (e.g. Writes computer programs) is assigned to the position.

    IT 0185 can be used for India payroll. This is for pan no, gratuity.
    This will not affect payroll.
    OR
    We maintain subtypes in table v_t591a. Goto tcode sm30 --> v_t591a --> select maintain
    OR
    Check his Infotype 105 and see if there is a valid record for the employee.

    In my organization the HR department has decided to enable employees to be assigned to two positions at the same time (work percentage of 50% for each).
    However, the SAP-HR solution was bulit on the assumption that an employee is assigned to one position only at the same time, and it would be very hard to change all the developments (such as Z-reports, user exits etc) to fit into the new regulation.
    So I would like to ask if anyone has an idea of how to cope with this new demand: does anyone know a specific PA-Infotype we may use or another solution?

    Probably this is what i would try if i was you..
    Using the standard solution : Currently i understand all your Z reports and Developments are completed and you wouldnt wanna bother any of these to avoid further complications- Thus what i can suggest is to use/create another relationship between employee and the secondary position.
    Primary Position can always have the standard A008 relationship. But you can also have the flexiility of keeping 100% to both the position the employee holds, the system does not restrict you on this.
    Now, having said that - I suppose your report  on Position is based on relationship or evaluation paths, thus i dont find the possibility of damaging your current developments using a custom relationship.
    Let me know if this works or we can talk on an alternate solution for you.

  • E-Recruiting Employee Searches (Assigning an employee to a support group)

    Hello experts,
    I have run into a situation where when attempting to search for an employee to assign to a support team using their first and last name nothing returns.  However if I try to search for them using their personnel number they come up just fine.  NOTE: This is only happening with this employee.
    Any idea why this may be happening?  We are on 6.0 sp10 using BSP.  We also have E-Recruiting seperate from our SAP HR system and are using ALE to transfer data over to E-Recruiting.
    Any help would be appreciated!

    Hello Ryan,
    the search for positions in the requisition maintanence was changed quite a while ago. Even SAP finally agreed that if you start the hiring process for a new position open in 3 months it should be possible to assign it to the requisition even if the position is currently not active. If you are not on a very old support level you should not face this problem anymore.
    The possiblitiy to find the name for the employee id even if the employee is not active should be a side effect from reading the employee information for inactive candidates which are otherwise treated as external candidates. This is useful in the recruiter applications if a recruiter leaves and others keep on working with its former requisitions and activities. As far as I remember the system even shows the employee id for inactive candidates if they reapply as external candidate. Some companies like to see that they are rehiring someone others don't like it as the fear to mix such candidates with real internal ones. So SAP will probably never take position to one of both opinions and just let it as it is for bsp (I yet have not seen if the EhP4 WebDynpro recruiter solutions, so i do not know if they kept the behaviour or not).
    The IS_INACTIVE flag is set if the employee is no longer active so STAT2 is no longer 3. This check is part of the ALE inbound BAdI (or better of the class which is called in the BAdI implementation). It might be possible to change the coding but I have to admit that I cannot ad hoc judge the consequences of such a change. This would need some more analysing.

    Condsider a case -
    For a same position we have one full time employee and one part time employee.
    Full time consumes 70% of the position and part time the rest 30%.
    We can have more people sharing the same position but over all percentage should be 100 only.
