Assigning employee to two positions

Hello,
In my organization the HR department has decided to enable employees to be assigned to two positions at the same time (work percentage of 50% for each).
However, the SAP-HR solution was bulit on the assumption that an employee is assigned to one position only at the same time, and it would be very hard to change all the developments (such as Z-reports, user exits etc) to fit into the new regulation.
So I would like to ask if anyone has an idea of how to cope with this new demand: does anyone know a specific PA-Infotype we may use or another solution?

Probably this is what i would try if i was you..
Using the standard solution : Currently i understand all your Z reports and Developments are completed and you wouldnt wanna bother any of these to avoid further complications- Thus what i can suggest is to use/create another relationship between employee and the secondary position.
Primary Position can always have the standard A008 relationship. But you can also have the flexiility of keeping 100% to both the position the employee holds, the system does not restrict you on this.
Now, having said that - I suppose your report  on Position is based on relationship or evaluation paths, thus i dont find the possibility of damaging your current developments using a custom relationship.
Let me know if this works or we can talk on an alternate solution for you.

      Once you create org.unit you can assign positions,update and remove employee from their positions automatically.Make your customizing settings for automatic organisational data determination using the wizards.When you create a transaction,the system determines the org.data according to your customising settings.You can change or enhance the or.units manually.

  • Assigning an employee to four positions

    Dear SAP Gurus,
    I have a requirement from a client (fresh implementation) to assign an employee to four diff positions belonging to four different company codes.  Situation like, a sales executive being assigned to diff companies and his incentives getting paid from the four companies.
    As far as my knowledge goes, I donot think this is possible.  Request your expert opinion on this and valuable inputs how this can be done.

    For example: there are four positions, A,B,C and D which you want to assign one employee to them and percentage 20%, 20%, 20% and 40%
    1.  you can go to PPOME and find position A, to assign this employee to this position and give this percentage to 20%
    2. same as above: assign the employee to position B with 20%
    3. Position C with 20%
    4. Position D with 40%
    so total 100% for this employee.
    Please note, one employee cannot effort over 100% task.

  • Assigning Employees to Positions as Successors

    Hi Guru's,
    We have deployed HR Renewal 1.0 on EhP6 and planning to implement Talent Management. I went through SAP documentation for Manager Role and read that managers can assign employees to positions as successors.
    But, I could not find an application from role SAP_SR_TMC_MANAGER_6 where managers can perform this activity.
    Please suggest.

    Are you implementing Talent Visualization by Nakisa also?
    Because as I know, Manager can assign employees to successors pool using Talent Visualization by Nakisa.

  • Report for Two Position

    Hello Experts,
    Is their any report available by which we can know to houw many position employee is assigned & wat are they with priority.
    Also , if an employee is assigned more than one position,does it data pass to PA.That means whether we will be able to see both the positon in PA30.

    Have a look at the Report RHXSTR04.. Select Reporting Period.. ALL.... and the Status as 1...
    When the employee is assigned to more than one position, it checks the priority and the staffing percentage....
    It's either way !!!!
    Staffing percentage will not be over 100%.....in any case...
    In a case where employee is assigned to two positions, with staffing percentages as 50% each, then it checks the priority...
    Whichever has got the Highest Priority, it will be visible in PA; infotype 0001.
    1. You may test this, by assigning two positions to employee with different variables....of Priority and staffing Percentages....
    2. Next, Run RHINTE30 and create a batch run.
    3. Go to SM35 and execute the Batch run...
    4. Finally, go to PA20 and check the Infotype 0001 to see which position appeared.

  • Person having two PSA & two positions in 0001 at the same time

    Hi Gurus!!!
    How to handle a situation where a Person is having two different PSA (becouse he is Head of two PSA A & PSA B) at the same time, at present he is holding two Positions lets say Positon A1 & B1 in Org Management, but i have to assign him two PSAs also. PY will only be run from PSA A only which is his core PSA.
    Can we run any action for that? i need this for report purpose, to show that employee was working in two different PSAs at the same time.

    if he is havein two postions and these position have to be maintained in two PSA right
    in the IT0001  we get PSA by defeault right as we assing the PSA with PA
    so there is not chance for maintaining the PSA as per the Above functionality
    if we can add an another feild in IT001
    and maitain the feilds Positon and PSA which are to be maintained that would be fine Right
    and as per the requiremtn the Process of the PY shd be run form the one PY area and tht should belong to one PA
    but make sure this shd be only for display and reporting purpose
    because there will lot of things based on PSA first check the first option

  • Problem on Assigning Person to a Position

    Hi SAP-HR folks,
    I would like to ask for your assistance on my problem below.
    I've hired a person using New Hire action type. During the hiring process, I've assign the person to a position which I've created also. Then, there is a need for this person to be re-assign to another vacant position. Re-assigning should be done using drag and drop in transaction PPOME.
    I've successfully done the re-assignment of this person to another vacant position using drag and drop. But according to the test scripts that we are following, the expected result should be that the system should refuse the re-assignment after filling in the dates. Re-assignment can only proceed after delimitation of the assignment of person to position.
    May I know if the action that I've done is a normal behavior of SAP? In the case the test scripts are right, may I know on how to successfully follow the scripts?

    whenever transfer employee from one positon to other position don't do this by drag and drop from ppome.
    just do this by PA40, Org Reassignment action.
    as ppome not support 100% for such change.
    and also if u do this from ppome, it0001 can't be updated for both positions.

  • PCP: budget split for employees on multiple positions

    Dear experts,
    I have a question concerning the use of the Personnel Cost Planning and Simulation module (PA-CP) to determine budgets for Org. Units containing employees that are on multiple positions.
    When running the Personnel Cost Plans for the Org. Units that contain such employees, the Cost Items associated to the employee are u201Csplitu201D between the positions, according to the percentages of the relationships S-P. However, the client desires that the Cost Item for the employee is completely assigned to his main position (the one displayed in infotype 0001). Is it possible to do so in this module?
    In the u201Coldu201D PCP module (PA-CM-CP), there was a parameter switch in table T77S0 (group PCOST, field MULTP) that controlled whether or not multiple assignments were taken into account in Cost Planning. However, this switch does not work with the new module, and I havenu2019t found a corresponding switch for it.
    Is there a corresponding switch for the u201Cnewu201D module? If not, how could we implement this requirement?

    I am not sure if the below solution would work for the charts also but you can give a try to it. The below solution works well
    to restrict the no. of rows in blocks.
    Create a variable as:
    v Test = Floor(Rowindex()/20)
    so as to return integers when RowIndex() returns multiple of 20's.
    Now, follow the following steps:
    1. create block with Employee, Sales.
    2. Create Section on Store and Sub-Section on the variable v Test created above.
    3. Check results. If you get the required results then turn the block into chart.

    sounds straightforward...
    just supply a simple report screen with cost centre parameter and employee select options.
    Loop through all the employees in the selection option ITAB
    apply the cost centre parameter to each
    remember this info in a suitable internal table you have declared
    process that itab
    update the infotype 0001 as suggested by Kumar by HR Maintain BAPI, or BDC  to PA30-IT0001 or HR INFOTYPE Operation function - whatever is preferable your end.
    2 hours coding - (optional - pass the results in a simple SALV for completeness)
    Your over thinking it - you just want a simple utility to manipulate the cost centre in the employee infotype

  • Holder of two positions, reporting to multiple managers in Travel managemen

    Dear Consultants,
    Our configuration is as follows:
    We have implemented Travel Management in our organization.
    A Person is assigned %70 capacity of  Position A, and is assigned %30 capacity of  Position B.
    Position A is reporting to Position X and Position B is reporting to Positon Y.
    i.e. , Position A and Positon B are reporting to seperate positions.
    My question is:
    According to our travel management workflow logic , if the holder of the shared position applies for a travel request, The approval of the travel request should go to Position X ( The position which is heading Position A ) Obviously because our employee is holding %70 of position A, and is primarily reporting to position X.
    Now, we checked the workflow, and it's working fine from R/3 , however, the Enterprise portal is showing Position Y as the position which should approve the travel request.

    Even thogh if he is haveing many approver the  request will go and have to go to that manager in which the Position where his working percentage is more
    Ex: X employee is working for three projects  A B C  for A 25 % B 25%  C 50% so the approve shd go to C  project manager

    I've got the following problem. I want to assign business partners to a position in organisation management. When doing this, the following error occurs:
    "Object cannot be assigned to object xxx in the period xx.xx.xxxx - xx.xx.xxxx"
    (xxx is the position to which the business partner should be assigned)
    The number of this error message is 5A368.
    Diagnosis in the detailed description of this message:
    "The object period of object '1st Level Support' is not within the relationship period 26.03.2007 - 31.12.9999."
    I've changed the object period of the position "1st Level Support" to several other dates, but it did not solve the problem.
    The described problem does not occur, when assigning an user to this position.
    Can anybody help me with this problem? I'm using SolMan 4.0.

    Thanks for your answer so far. Unfortunately it's not possible for me to upgrade to SP11. So I tried to solve the problem the way you described. I double-clicked the position on the left, the desired position is shown in the main screen and I try to assign the business partner to the position. But the same error appears.
    Are there any other possible solutions?
    What are the consequences of assigning users to a position instead of business partners?

  • Assigning jobs to a position

    My problem is this:
    when i assign jobs to a position in PPOME, the position shuold keep the descriptions of job when i confirm my entry (by pressing Enter) , but when the name of job is too large, this ones isn't assigned to position.
    What can i resolve it?

    in PPOME select the root Orgunit then click the dropdown Goto (First Button).
    Then Choose Task Assignment.
    Then U'll be in Task assignment screen.Then Choose the Concerned Position right click the choose Assign.
    Then Choose Task.

    Two positions for eg. AGM (A002 relationship) reporting to Deputy MG and Deputy MG (A002 relationship) reporting to AGM..as per my knowledge reporting structure between two posiitions is maintained with two different relationships i.e A002 and B002 relationship ie.if one relationship is maintained another is automatically maintained...is it possible to maintain two positions reporting to each other (A002)...Please help ASAP.....!!

    You are asking abt a inverse relationship and yes A/B002 will do that
    say AGM is the higger position and DGM is the lower so when DGM reporting to AGM it will be A/002 and when AGM reports to DGM then it will be B/002
    So always the higher position is taken as A and lower is B.

    1. BP_BUPA_GET_HROBJECT to get the person number based on PARTNER_GUID.
    2. pass this person number to FM BP_CENTRALPERSON_ASSIGN_USER to assign user ID.
    Instead of the creating new central personal number i have used above BP_BUPA_GET_HROBJECT fm.
