Attempting to sort recordset off our iseries

I have a problem that I would appreciate assistance with.  I have successfuly created a recordset that pulls data off our iSeries.  I have created a table from the recordset, but upon the review of the content of the table by meeting attendees it was suggested that all columns of the table be sortable.  In the past I had used a routine (free for the taking from www.easycfm.com), whereby <cfswitch> is used for sorting purposes.  The SQL portion of the tutorial follows.  However, while it runs against a MS access database, it has problems with the iSeries.  In working with the Starquest people today (vendor for StarSQL) we ran a debug trace and it was observed that for this particular SQL statement, the ORDER BY clause is getting cutting off.  Note the truncation that occurs right after Order BY in the following trace result.
trace result, "WHERE RTYPE = 8 AND RNCTL <> 'Y' AND RRLDTC > 0 AND RRLDTC <= 20090633 AND RESWT <= 5000 ORDER BY".
I also tried a query of the query.  This too failed when I tried the dynamic sort SQL using <cfswitch>.  The error that I received upon running that QOQ was that the ORDER BY was too complex.
Does anyone have any insight on how I might address the dynamic sorting of the recordset off the iSeries?  Thanks!
Example SQL that I used:
<cfquery name="name went here" datasource="datasource went here">
SELECT  *
FROM Table
ORDER BY
<cfswitch expression="#sort#">
  <cfcase value="1">Field1</cfcase>
  <cfcase value="2">Field1 desc</cfcase>
  <cfcase value="3">Field2</cfcase>
  <cfcase value="4">Field2 desc</cfcase>
</cfswitch>
</cfquery>

The datasource type really has nothing to do with how ColdFusion generates that sql string.  ColdFusion first evaluates the cfswitch/cfcase statements, then sends the final sql string to the chosen datasource.  So it produces the same string no matter the datasource type.
What is more likely is that your #sort# value did not match any of the cfcase values.  Since there is no default case, nothing is added to the ORDER BY, making it seem like the statement was truncated.

  • AT&T contractors cut off our water supply to our house!!

An AT&T contractor in Raleigh NC was digging holes in our front yard and they cut off our water supply.  We have been without water for 24 hours.  They sent two workmen - who aren't licensed or bonded plumbers to do "fix it".  And they didn't fix it, and there was water spilling in our basement.  How do I get an AT&T contractor to fix its mess up!!  Where do I complain to AT&T to make their contractors do the right thing?

I would have started with your local AT&T Business Office (not the AT&T [Wireless] Store), but the one that handle things like Business Phone Service, etc.  You could have also called the contractor.  I'd definitely call the Water Company and let them know the situation so they don't bill you for water used.
You could call your home owner's insurance and let them pay the bill and then figure out how to subrogate the costs.

  • If I get my child his own Apple ID, can he still listen to music he purchased off our family's Apple ID?

My son has been purchasing a ton of in-app content without my authorization.  I am looking for suggestions on how to stop this.
Right now, we have a family ID, that me, my husband, and my three kids use.  I am considering getting a new apple ID for my oldest son, Mark, so that I don't have to worry about him using the family account to make in-app purchases.  The only reservation I have is that Mark has purchased quite a bit of music (with his own money) on our family ID, so I want to make sure he'll still be able to listen to it if he is cut off from the family ID.
Mark has his own iPhone--that is where he's been making the purchases, so I'm not sure we can turn off the in-app purchases, since he'd know the password to the phone, right?
Any suggestions would be helpful--we are just trying to avoid another $350 surprise on our next credit card bill!

    Yes.

  • Currently using iPhoto 7.1.5   We recently upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard with updated Quicktime player.  Our videos off our camera no longer open in Quicktime by double clicking.  Any help?

We are running iPhoto 7.1.5 '08.  After upgrading to Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and Quicktime Player 10.0, our videos off of our camera no longer open by double clicking.  Any help?

Thank you for your quick reply.  I'll give it a try.  Another workaround I figured out last night is to right click the video, click show file, and then double click the file. Quicktime the plays the video.

  • How do i boot other people off our network?

ok so i just found out that my nextdoor neighbor, who's a kid who i know, is using our wireless internet from our extream airport, and i want to kick him off because im pretty sure its making mine go slower in my room? or would it make mine go slower he lives nextdoor and doesn't have internet so uses our wireless but it makes mine very slow on games i think. so if indeed having him on the connection his making my computers internet run slower, then how do i kick there computer off?

All you need to do is enable WPA wireless encryption and use a non-dictionary password.

  • In our web site the product sort order under our categories are random with Firefox but IE, Chrome is alright, any ideas?

The sort order of products under our categories on our web site is random with Firefox, but the categories with products are in the correct order with IE, Chrome, etc. This incorrect order with Firefox occurs on various computers, i.e. Windows 7, XP, etc. and is not consistent. To make matters worse, sometimes it is random with Firefox and then returns to being correctly sorted but IE, Chrome, etc. are always in the correct order.

Works fine here for me, even after refreshing.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Apple?  Are you monitoring this?  We can't turn off our iPod Nanos.

I am reading from a few people, that all of a sudden, they can't shut off. Mine is 7 months old, and today I have this problem.
What is the resolution? Do I need to send this back to Apple?

I was going to post a request for help, but it looks like this is a known problem which Apple has not yet solved. So I'll just post a "me too".
    Me too.
My nano (white 4gb model, ordered on 9/8/05 so it would be one of the very first batch out of the factory) will not turn off, not matter how long I hold down the play/pause button. It frequently pops up the "Firewire connection not supported" message, which will usually go away after pressing the select button a few times. Sometimes it will not reset, but usually will after 3 or 4 attempts.
I have done the 5Rs on my usual computer, tried restoring and then setting it up on a different computer, got it into diagnostic mode and run all the tests -- I think I've exhausted all the DIY avenues.
It sounds like a bug to me, but since Apple haven't come out with a software/firmware fix, I guess I will have to send it in for repair/replacement.

  • Why can't we dump permanent apps we do not use off our iPhone's

While it might seem odd if not downright crazy to many iPhone users, but there are some apps I would dust as soon trash off my iPhone to gain the wasted space. It appears these are permanently hardwired in which seems like, at least to me that Apple is only trying to get us into more gigabytes phones where if we were allowed to have only those apps that make sense for the person, we might save space for what we really want available. Is there a way to dump the hardwired apps from our iPhones?

"Why?" is a question that only Apple could answer. And their answer would probably be similar to Samsung's, HTC's, LG's and all the other cell phone makers, none of whom let you do that. But, if any of them have made a statement, I've never seen it.
Submit your feedback directly to Apple using the appropriate link on the Feedback page:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback
And, no, there is no way to remove them that wouldn't void your warranty.
Note that most of those apps probably take up far less space than you think.

  • Attempt to open links from our bank or utility company to view bill. etc. gets only a blank screen; instead of a url the address bar reads "About: blank"

We signed up for on-line billing from our utility company; when I log into their website and click onto the link to "view my bill" Firefox opens a new tab, but nothing loads on the screen; the "address" bar near the top of the screen where you'd usually see the url for the tab reads simply "About:blank" . I have the same issue with messages received from our bank, which are usually sent as .pdf files. I frequently open .pdf files from other sites without any problems, so my copy of Adobe Reader seems to be working okay.
    Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

  • Why, when attempting to sort bookmarks, does pressing the ctrl key only minimizes the screen, not showing or allowing a sort option?

All I want to do is alphabetize my bookmark folders. Firefox appears to make this otherwise simple idea/function complicated, circuitous and difficult to navigate for a digital dummy.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Sort of off topic re: raid drive

    i just bought a GRaid2 hard drive,
    to use with FCP.
I've never had a raid drive,
so I know nothing about partitioning a drive.
If there is a link or someplace online where I can
learn more about partitioning a raid drive, please let me know.
I already googled, and found a few sites that talk
    about partitioning raids, but honestly,
it was all Chinese to me.
Is there any specific software that will partition the drive
for you? does Disk Utility in the Mac do that?
    thanks to all

Don't partition. Leave it one big drive. The G-Raid is a hardware raid, meaning that the two drives in the case show up as one. Use the Disk Utility to format it MacOS Extended (journalling off) and you are set.

  • Sort of off topic, but same old question looking for a new answer

Ok I'm ready to start a new site. I'm going cheap as it's all coming out of my pocket including hosting. I want to put a video chat room on my site. Is there anyway to capture a webcam in this fashion in director. I've done tons of searching but I can't really find anything. I'm trying to avoid using the flash communication server for three reasons. 1) I already have the director multiuser server that will host up to 1000 users (the room will never be anything close to that big 50 peeps tops) and my web host will support it and install it for me. 2) I can't find anything at a really cheap price. I'm looking at 25 cam users at once... 3) Actionscript is nothing I've every really worked with before, but I could do the lingo programming.
I have a few questions First of all I read something about putting a flash element on the stage, and that the flash player is what captures the webcam. But I assume that it still needs flash communication sever to upload the video. Is this correct?
Is there an xtra that will do what I  want?
I read something about encoding the video to realvideo, but I have no clue how as I've never done anything like that before. Will this work and do you know of a tutorial for this?
Do you know of a really really cheap flash comm host?
Really off topic but, I could write the text chat end of it in cold fusion. Is there a known way to easily add the video in this way?
Does anyone know of a cheap off the shelf video chat room that I can put up on my site and just pay for the bandwidth overage that it uses?
Thanks for any help any of you could give me.

There are several 2.4 GHz MacBook pros shipped over several years.
If this is your Mac (2007 model) scroll down to the memory section and read:
    http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook_pro/stats/macbook-pro-core-2-duo-2 .4-15-santa-rosa-specs.html
    Standard RAM:
    2 GB
    Maximum RAM:
    6 GB*
    Details:
2 GB installed as two 1 GB modules. No slots free.
*Apple officially supports a maximum of 4 GB of RAM but third-parties have been able to upgrade the system to 6 GB of RAM using one 2 GB and one 4 GB memory module.
Site sponsor Other World Computing sells MacBook Pro memory, as well as hard drives, batteries, carrying cases, and accessories.
... and that sponsor is not a bad place to get RAM at all. They are experts, and back it up with a "money back if it does not work in your Mac" guarantee.

  • HP Officejet 6700 Premium shows offline everytime we turn off our laptops...

Help!!  I now have a second new HP printer that's behaving just like the other new HP printer that I bought 3 months ago, that is now packed up to go back to Office Depot - a Photosmart 6520.  I replaced it with an Officejet 6600/6700.
They both do the same thing, when they go to sleep/standby/idle, they go offline.  Only way to reconnect is to turn the printer off and on, then you have 15 minutes (longest setting) before it goes offline again.
This is a JOKE!  I've had the HP C6350 for four years prior to this, and NEVER had this problem.  HP has screwed something up big time.  When everyone else is going plug an play, HP is doing the opposite.  Please help, this is killing me, my marriage and my kids...seriously.  It's not funny.

These settings are for setting up your wireless printer to stay connected to your router, keep wireless devices better connected and make your router secure and hack proof.
    1. Set a static IP in the printer (click here) outside the DHCP range of the router (check your manual).
This is for Linksys routers but can be used for all routers.  Verify your DHCP range and change this
        first if needed.
    2. Verify in the printer that 'Auto Off' is disabled.  Use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) by going to the
printers IP address in your browsers address bar, click  Settings Tab/Auto Off.  Or use the Printer
        Assistant, Printer Home Page (EWS).
In the router:  (Refer to your router manual for information)
    3. Use a fixed wireless channel like 1,6 or 11, never 'auto', try channel 1 first then the rest.
    4. Set router to 20Mhz only, or 145Mbps depending on router.
    5. Always use WPA2-AES (Personal) encryption, but you can try ‘mixed’ mode.
    6. Disable WPS and never use it and disable UPnP for the routers security.  Nobody can hack your
system now and helps with wireless connectivity (if you want to know why, search the web).
    7. If you have a dual band router (2.4Ghz and 5.0Ghz bands), make sure the SSID’s are NOT the same,
they must be different for all bands, even for any Guest networks.
    8. Save all settings.  Power off both, wait 5 mins.  Power on router wait 3 mins.
    9. Power on printer and verify it reconnects to router.
Windows 7/8/8.1   Is Network Discovery on or off?
Control Panel/Network and Internet/Network and Sharing Center/Advanced sharing settings.
Under Home or Work (current profile) / Network Discovery.
Select "Turn on network discovery" and save changes.
