Attempting to use SNMP v3 between 2900 router and SpiceWorks
I am attempting to set up snmp v3 monitoring of my 2900 series routers from the third party Spiceworks utility. My snmp config on the router looks like this:
SNMP-Server view Westv3View internet included
SNMP-Server group Westv3Group v3 priv Read Westv3View
SNMP-Server user Westv3User Westv3Group v3 auth MD5 <password1> priv DES <password1>
In SpiceWorks my network account looks like this:
Type: SNMPV3
Description: network-snmpv3
Login: authPriv:md5:des:Westv3User
Password: <password1>
I have set the logging level on the 2900 router to informational and see no errors of any kind popping up when I try to scan the router from SpiceWorks. Spiceworks just returns a generic "unable to contact host" message.
Anyone managed to make this kind of setup work in the past?
Thanks,
-Mat
Do a "show snmp" before your SpiceWorks scan. After the scan do another one and check if you see the incoming packet counter increment. If not, something is blocking the SNMP traffic from arriving on the device. You can also check further with SNMP debugs on the device to see if packets are getting there:
term mon
debug snmp packets
Alternatively, I would suggest testing a basic SNMPv3 authentication/encryption as some tools have issues with levels of encryption, i.e.
snmp-server view Westv3View iso included
snmp-server group Westv3Group v3 auth read Westv3View
snmp-server user Westv3User Westv3Group v3 auth md5 12345678
A walk to the above shows fine:
C:\usr\bin>snmpwalk -v3 -l authNoPriv -u Westv3User -a md5 -A 12345678 10.198.28.68 sysObjectID
SNMPv2-MIB::sysObjectID.0 = OID: SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.9.1.576

What's the difference between transport route and transport layer
what's the difference between transport route and transport layer,Can somebody give me some explaination? thks in advance!
Hi,
Transport Layer in ABAP Workbench
The Change and Transport System supports the distribution of development
work on large projects across multiple SAP Systems.
The packages in each development system are grouped into one transport
layer.
The transport layer determines whether objects are assigned to a local
or transportable change request.
Use
Each of your SAP development systems is assigned a transport layer as
its standard transport layer. If you use Extended Transport Control, you
can assign different standard transport layers to certain clients.
You can define at the most one consolidation target for each SAP System
and transport layer.
When you create a package, it is assigned the standard transport layer
of the SAP System.
If you want to assign a different transport layer to a package, you
require the administration authorization for the Change and Transport
System.
The objects in a package automatically have the transport attributes
defined for the corresponding transport layer.
o If a consolidation route originating in their SAP System is defined,
then the objects are assigned to a transportable request, and
transported into the consolidation target when it is released.
o If a consolidation route is not defined, the objects are assigned to
a local request, and are not transported.
Customizing settings are not assigned to a package. They have the
transport attributes of the standard transport layer of the system or
client.
It is best to assign a package a standard transport layer for which a
consolidation route originating in the development system is defined.
To display and maintain the transport layers and routes, use the
Transport Management System (transaction STMS).
Only the system adminstrator can make changes.
Caution:
The tables TSYST, DEVL, TWSYS, TASYS are no longer productive as of
Release 4.0A and cannot be maintained.

Differences between rate routing and reference rate routings?
Hello PP members:
I would like to differences between rate routing and reference rate routings
Thanks for your time,
Thanks Again,
Suren RHi Mr.Suren,
As explained by other friends Routing is used in Discrete manufacturing and Rate routing is used for REM-Repetitive manufacturing.
In addional to these types SAP has given 2 more types
1.Reference operation set -Used in Discrete manufacturing.
2.Reference rate routing - Used in REM.
If similar rate routing is been used for producing many materials, then instead of entering(these steps) in rate routing of each material you create a refrence rate routing and you enter the work centres used and the other details. After saving you get a group counter number showing reference rate routing is saved with group XXXXXXXXX.
When you are creating rate routing for a material say A ,after giving the name and plant details in the top you will be able to see an icon "copy from" and you can select the radio button for reference rate routing and give the group counter number. or else without giving it here you have got an option to select the reference rate routing after entering into the operation screen also.
In that particular page in operation overview screen, there will be an icon copy, there you can click that icon and you can give the reference rate routing group counter number and very easily you can create rate routing for N number of material.
Likewise you can use reference operation set while creating routing for a material in Discrete manufacturing. This basically reduces the time in creating routing or rate routing for materials in Discrete & REM respectively
CA01,CA02,CA03-Create,Change,display (routing) respectively.
CA11,CA12,CA13-Create,Change,Display reference operation set Respectively.
CA21,CA22,CA23-Create,Change,Display rate routing respectively.
CA31,CA32,CA33-create,change,display reference rate routing resp.
I hope this will help you.
If useful reward your points.
Thanks & regards

Can I use home sharing between my iPhone and iPad? Or do I need to use a computer?
I want to use home sharing between my iPhone and Ipad. So I can use the remote app. But I can't get it to work
You can use it to share the library on your computer to the iPad, not the other way around.
On the computer, set up homesharing in the advanced menu. On the iPad go to settings > music. -

Wireless connection lost between my router and printer (hp officejet 4620)
My hp officejet 4620 printer has been working fine but now the wireless connection has been lost and I can't get the wireless connection back. The blue light for the wifi flashes blue. I can't get the connection back between the router and the printer because my wifi is actually working fine with my laptop. Any suggestions about what i can do to get the connection back so I can print again?
Is it something I need to do on the printer screen or laptop to fix the problem?Have you powered off everything and power up again? Power off printer and router. Power on router and wait 2 mins. Power up printer and see if it connects to your SSID.
Say thanks by clicking the Kudos Thumbs Up to the right in the post.

Trunking between a router and a switch
i used the topology and the configuration described on the pictures included on this post.. but the problem that the ping failed between the switch and the router
The router config might not have been captured correctly coz it would not allow you to configure the subinterface with no vlan id after the encapsulation. But you can try this, define the native vlan 1 on the router's subtinterface for subnet 172.16.1.0/24. Also, what address of the router are you pinging from the switch?

Attempting to use bluetooth for the first time, and it never sees any other devices
I have an iPad 2 about a year old, running iOS 6.0.1. This morning I tried to connect to another iPad, over bluetooth, and neither iPad is able to discover the other. This is the first attempt to use bluetooth on either of these iPads. The other iPad is also running iOS 6.0.1. The iPads were less than 10 feet apart.
On both devices, I went to settings:bluetooth, and turned blutooth "on". This opened up a "Devices" box, which says "Searching...", with a spinning wheel icon. Below this box is says "Now discoverable". Both devices remained in this state.
I haven't used bluetooth before so I have no idea what I am doing wrong.
Later in the day I fiddled with the bluetooth systems prefs panel on my desktop (a circa 2005 intel mac running OSX 10.6.8).(hadn't finished my earlier message but somehow it posted it before I was ready).
From the OSX bluetooth panel, I turned bluetooth on, and made my computer discoverable. I then hit "setup new device", and was taken to the Bluetooth setup assistant. After a few seconds it showed me my ipad as one of the devices it had discovered. Over on the ipad, though, it did not discover the desktop machine.
After about a minute, I then selected the ipad from the list of devices on the desktop machine, and hit "continue". At this point it said "attempting to pair with MyIpad", and "connection established". At the same time, a panel popped up on my iPad, listing my desktop machines name, and asking for a PIN. It is not clear to me whether it is asking for a PIN that I have supposedly set up on the desktop machine, or if it is asking me to establish a PIN. So I quit.
In any case, my goal in going through this attempt on the destop machine was solely to establish whether the bluetooth hardware is working on the ipad. I believe that has to be true.
So, can someone explain to me what steps I am *supposed* to go through to pair up two ipads over bluetooth? -
I'm referring to the small downwards arrow between the back and forward button beside the URL, on the navigation bar. That used to be a very convenient feature and now its not available in FF4. Is there a way to get back that button?
You can get the drop down list by either right-clicking on the back/forward buttons, or holding down the left button until the list appears.
If you want the drop-down arrow you can add it with the Back/forward dropmarker add-on - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/backforward-dropmarker -

Use Time Capsule with Existing Router and WAP
We've added an existing TC to a new network installation where there is now a Cisco router and separate wireless AP and a new SIP phone system. How do I best setup or reconfigure the Time Capsule so our customer can still use it for wireless backup from their Apple notebooks?
We seem to be getting conflcts with the Time Capsule on the same subnet--capturing network and Internet ports!
Thanks!
Chet - HoustonGo to internet page.. on the top menu item you are offered, internet connection by ethernet or pppoe.. choose ethernet.. on the menu option below it, you determine how the TC will share the connection. Choose bridge.. done. When you do that the TC will make the WAN port available to LAN.
chetpro wrote:
Is it straightforward to put the TimeCapsule into bridge mode?
The only thing the customer needs to do is their 'backups' with this unit. We will add a separate WAP on the subnet. I assume the Time Capsule can still reside on the same subnet...
There are mixed PC, Apple notebooks, and printers, and a new SIP phone system on this LAN.
Does the TC also capture or reserve ports that we can exclude?
Thanks,
Chet.
Why not use the TC as a WAP.. you bridged it and now it is already a WAP.
The TC will not capture any port that I know of. It will exist happily in the same subnet, although as I mentioned if the Mac clients lose connection after a day or two, there may be an issue with arp timing out or some discovery protocol not working. Lion is maybe more suspectible at the moment. The problem is inconsistent so not sure yet. -
Can you use migration assistant between 10.4 and 10.8
I'm trying to use migration assistant to transfer applications and files from a G5 imac running 10.4.11 to a brand new iMac i5 on 10.8.2. Have connected through ethernet cable but machines don't recognise each other!
Is this an OS problem or a PowerPC vs Intel issue?Be careful about trying to migrate applications from a G5 to an Intel mac running Mt. Lion (10.8.x). They may not work. Rosetta is no longer supported, so older applications that ran on your G5 may not run at all on your new iMac. And even some 'universal' apps that ran on 10.4 (Tiger) will not run well if at all on Mt. Lion.
It would be best if you install current versions of the applications you are interested in, from scrtach, instead of migrating what are now very old versions.
