Audigy 4 Pro "beeping, cracking" where is créativelabs label quality

I just installed my new audigy 4 pro with the Gigaworks s750.
Well, all is fine with the sound quality but when i solicite more the system hard dri've, there is some loud bad noise that appaird.
i contacted the heldesk, they told me to r?install my windows!
I'm not really happy front of this lake of quality from cr?ati've.
I used a AC97 chipset onboard before and no disturbing noise appaird during transfering files or open heavy applications.
I seen in the forum that many X FI chipset present the same problem when playing games.
The help desk ask me too to change the pci slot or install the audigy in another
computer !!! thru!!
I responded that is not my job to make the card working but , yes i can give some feedback to them.
I think that creativelabs are front of a situation now that they slowly loose they good reputation with they new products that are not really stable and ready for the sale.
But many companys use this system to put a product on the market.
The first buyers pay the reshearch to finish the conception of the final product.
where i don't agree is to pay so much amount of money for a product that they said is working (4 pro) but is still in prototyp or beta testing !!
I will r?install my windows (it will be more fresh..) but i'm practecely sure that it will not fix this problem (like i read in http://forums.creative.com/creativelabs/board/message?board.id=soundblaster&message.id=3426
Hope that the drivers will fix this, and note a hardware problem (irq or latency from the card himself)
hanny comments will be welcome...

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now.  About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

• Audigy 4 Pro, what cable

Hello, I just purchased your Audigy 4 Pro, I have the Logitech z-5500 5. digital speakers, it has inputs for Optical,Coaxial, as well as 6 channel direct I have an RCA Digital Coaxial cord and a Monster Optical cord, please tell me what cords I need to have digital sound

Sir_Dude,
Yes, the 6 channel direct inputs are analog as far as the output on the sound card goes, but then again so is the sound that comes out of your speakers when you use a digital cable like an optical or coax. Basically you are deciding where you want the conversion from analog to digital to take place, at the sound card or at the speakers. It is most likely that the converters in the sound card are of a higher quality than those on the speakers (this is where the 3dB SNR 24-bit/92 Khz DACs come into play). If you decide that you want to use an optical or coax digital connection there are some limitations you should be aware of:
You are limiting the number of sources that you will get surround in. With a coax or optical connection you will receive surround sound in DVD's and other AC3 encoded signals. Games that use Direct Sound will output in stereo.</LI>
You are removing the ability to playback DVD-Audio disks.</LI>
You will lose CMSS ability.</LI>
If you read the articles in the FAQ at the top of the board they will explain why this is the case and why it is better to use the analog outs on the card for your primary output.

• Audigy 4 Pro - Remote Contr

Hey,?I've got an Audigy 4 Pro card which i've had from new since 2005.However, i've only ever had the remote control working once, around about the time i first installed the card. Since then it's not worked. I'm currently running the latest drivers and mediasource 5, and still not getting remote control. I've been told i need Creative Media Centre, and i need to enable the remote, but A) i dont know where to get media centre since it's not on the downloads site for the Audigy 4 Pro. and B) i've tried looking for the "remote control" tab in media source, but to absolutely no avail. Can anyone tell me how i'm supposed to get my remote control working again? please?Martin

Entertainment Center is most likely found in the installation CD (X:\Audio\EntCntr\), I don't know if the A4Pro software can be installed individually, but if?you can't, copy the whole CD to the HDD and then copy engine32.cab from X\Audio\Setup\ to the app installation dir. If you no longer have the installation CD, download the ISO from BadBoy's page. http://badboy.hub.io/?You can try RMX automation, its a free program that lets you configure the buttons in the remote: http://sourceforge.net/projects/rmx/?

I am having issues with my new Audigy 4 pro emitting static. Sometimes it's really loud, and other times a low static hum. I have disabled the on board sound, changed the pci slot, where the internal card sits, uninstalled all of the software, and re-loaded.
I have an Asus A8V Deluxe gig ram, Nvidia geforce 6800GT 256MG AMD 64 3500.
Any Help would greatly be appreciated.

• Audigy 4 Pro on Vista Prob

hey guys, I'm new to this message board but have been a supporter of creative for quite a few years now, but anyways I have a problem hopefully a few of you can figure out for me as I'm currently stumped.
I have the Soundblaster Audigy 4 Pro sound card and have had Vista installed since it came out, I had the latest Creative driver's installed and it worked great, about a month ago when Microsoft released the SP beta for the public I installed it and that's where my problems started, the driver's are apparently incompatible with SP and I could only get 2. sound out of my speakers and the audio console looked a little screwed up, for instance the speaker configuration drop down box had nothing in it and the cmss looked screwed up, anyway I left it alone up until yesterday when I wanted my 7. surround back, I decided to uninstall SP and revert back to normal Windows, the drivers' were still screwed up so I reinstalled them but no luck, I found Daniel K's latest driver's here and uninstalled everything Creative and installed the driver's fresh but it still didn't work.
I have cleaned out the registry and uninstalled everything Creative like I said, tried installing a few different driver's but nothing seems to work. There is nothing in the drop down box under speaker selection and the cmss and eax tabs doesn't look quite right either, I can't synchronize with the windows control panel wither cuz the box is missing, I am out of options and don't really want to reinstall Vista, like I said before I installed the SP beta for the public it worked fine but after that it hasn't, would it be a good idea to maybe try and get the released version that's leaked or is there another set of driver's that I haven't tried that might work Also I'm using the 32-bit Vista but can upgrade to 64-bit but I'm not sure if that will make a difference, if anyone can help me, please do! I'll try to respond to any questions you guys may have, thanks in advance.

nobody knows?

• Inspire TD7700 and Audigy 4 Pro connection problem

I have a problem connecting the speaker system Inspire TD7700 with the soundcard SoundBlaster Audigy 4 Pro. The soundcard has a hub that is placed outside the computer, and it is connected to the soundcard inside the computer via two AD_LINK inputs/outputs. The soundcard is also connected to the switch (that was included in the speaker system), in front of the switch (where it says "from pc, input"). The front of the switch is also connected to the sub via something called "To speaker, Output". It is connected to the sub via the audio inputs. The back of the switch is connected to the decoder (DDTS-100, included in the speaker system). The input of the decoder I have used is called "Audio Outputs". The switch is set to "PC - Audio". Both the sub and the decoder is connected to a power supply unit.
My problem is that I can't hear a thing trough the speakers. I can hear sound trough my headphones when I connect the headphones to the sound hub (included with the soundcard). But when I connect my headphones to the decoder, I can't hear a thing.
Can somebody please help me, I really want my new speaker system to work..
Thank you in advance!
Mathias

Just click on the one you want to use, and then click on "Set Default", and then you can use it. Here's a hint for you, you do that and your current default (Line-in 3) will become "Currently unavailable". Vista only allows one input and one output device to be acti've at a time, hence why they all say unavailable.

• Audigy 4 Pro - Line In 3 Prob

I have been having a huge issue with getting my Line In 3 to play audio from my Television and/or my DVD player. I sent my first Audigy 4 Pro back because I could not get the Line In 3 to work. Now I am having the same problem on a completely different sound card. My DVD player's audio out work just fine when they are hooked into the TVs in, but when I hook the DVD outs to the external hub's Line In 3 nothing comes out of my computer speakers. I am so frustrated with this sound card. Any help would be grateful.

- are all other features working well in Ext. Hub (powerful enough PSU or is the additional power for the A4 PCI card taken from shared floppy power cable))?
I've only ever used the Line-In and the Headphone jack on the front, they work fine. There is a red light coming out of the Optical out on the front (expected). The card does have a 4 pin connection and it is plugged in.
- have you tried w/o other peripherals connected into Hub (just one through line-in 3)?
Yes, same results (but ... see below).
- have you installed latest drivers/software updates for your card?
Where can I find the latest drivers at? I hate to download and install the wrong ones.
- have you tried by uninstalling the CT software suite (least Surround Mixer) and control I/Os through Windows Play/Recording Controls (start run... mmsys32 and mmsys32 /r)
I have not tried to uninstall anything and I type mmsys32 in the command prompt and get an error that it can not find the program.
Update: I turned my computer off last night and turned it back on this morning, plug my RCA cables into my external hub and get a steady low frequency "buzz".

• How to record multiple inputs to separate tracks using an Audigy 4 pro

Hi,
I've been playing with my Audigy 4 Pro and Cubase LE on my windows XP box (since it ships with the card) and have been reasonably impressed with the results I've been getting (nothing amazing to be sure, but more than enough to amuse me).
However, I'm now at the point where I want to record the mic/line 1, line 2, and line 3 inputs all to separate tracks in Cubase LE. I'll be ****ed if I can figure out how to do it.
I've got jacks going into the front of the external Audigy 4 (into all the inputs) but I can't find any option anywhere that will allow me to select multiple recording inputs at the same time. From all of the reading I've been doing it looks like I need to do some ASIO configuration somewhere so that Cubase LE will give me some more VST input mappings.
So firstly, I guess is what I'm trying to do possible with the Audigy 4 Pro and Cubase LE?
If it is possible, what do I do to enable the additional inputs? I seem to have been through all the possible programs and configuration screens at least three times over and am now completely stuck.
Any help, thoughts, pointers, step by step instructions would be greatly appreciated.

Entrop1cLqd,
This is off the top of my head so my memory may be incorrect here but this is what I remember. First off make sure that you have Audigy ASIO or Audigy ASIO 24/96 selected in devices. Then go to VST inputs setup and make sure that they are all active. Note the names in here as that is how the recording is mapped (E.g. if Line In 3 is even with IN 1 then Line In 3 will be recorded from IN 1). Arm the tracks you want to record on and select their recording inputs based on the labels from the VST inputs setup.
This should get you setup.

• SoundBlaster Audigy ZS Pro ASIO DRIVER Questions w/ Cubase

<SPAN>
<SPAN>I am using Cubase SX 2.2 and the SoundBlaster Audigy ZS Pro. I need to gain a better understanding of the differences between the three Creative ASIO drivers that Cubase SX 2.2 recognizes. They are as follows:
<SPAN>
<SPAN>Creative ASIO - [Cubase sets default sample rate at 48KHz ]</LI>
<SPAN>SB Audigy 2 ZS ASIO 24/96 (B800) [ Cubase sets default sample rate at 96KHz]</LI>
<SPAN>SB Audigy 2 ZS ASIO [Cubase sets default sample rate at 48KHz ]</LI>
<SPAN>I can understand that the 24/96 ASIO driver supports 24 bit@96KHz]bit@96KHz recording. I am not sure what the differences are between Creative ASIO & SB Audigy 2 ZS ASIO. I have read other related post on this subject and it was stated that the Creative ASIO is the older 6 bit ASIO driver, but I noticed something interesting in relation to the input devices that Cubase SX 2.2 sees between the three are quite different, but it's opposite of what you might imagine.
<SPAN>Here are the details:
<SPAN>For Both Creative ASIO & SB Audigy 2 ZS ASIO, Cubase SX2.2 lists the following inputs:
<SPAN>Line in / MIC L & R, Line in 2 L & R, Line in 3 L & R, SPDIF IN L & R
<SPAN>and then the strange...MIX L & R, MIX FL & FR, MIX RL & RR, MIX FC, MIX LFE (?), MIX RC ( twice), MIX SL & SR
<SPAN>No OPTICAL?
<SPAN>For the SB Audigy 2 ZS ASIO 24/96, Cubase SX2.2 lists the following inputs:
<SPAN>Line in / MIC L & R, Line in 2 L & R, Line in 3 L & R
<SPAN>No SPDIF or OPTICAL?
<SPAN>I assume the MIX inputs are for the Dolby Digital Bus Mixers in Cubase to be able to send outputs directly to the Surround Channels?
<SPAN>I set the Latency all the way down to 2ms for each driver. Currently I am achieving a Input of 3.042ms & Output of 2.00ms w/ the 24/96KHz & w/ the other two I am achieving a Input of 4.083ms & Output of 2.00ms. Not sure why the difference?
<SPAN>I'd really like to gain an understanding or be directed to some documentation (Audigy Manuals lack in this detail) to help explain these differences and understand why the 24/96 driver wouldn't list the same inputs if it's the same card. Is this just a bug? Any updates to fix?
<SPAN> Sorry for the long post, but I felt if I should this detail I may get some good insight to from yall experts out there.
<SPAN>ANY Help will be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you.
As it's an OEM product you have there, you probably need to modify the installer meant for original CT products. I have posted some instructions long ago so if you search here by using "ctcomp.exe" as a searching criteria you might find that thread. You also need drivers from older installer since CT made some changes to the installer so that the old ctcomp won't work with the latest driver installation. IIRC, there were a fix-up for this too available but I'm not sure where it was introduced ... was it @ DHF (link given below)?
You can download the CD as an ISO image from BadBoys site (http://badboy.filefront.com/).
IIRC, there were some other instructions for this @ Driver Heaven Forums and also you might already heard of YouPAX driver mod ... which can be found @ Driver Heaven too.

• T7900 & Audigy 4 Pro

Hi
Is it possible to connect the Inspire T7900 Speakers to Audigy 4 Pro, digitally? If you can, what cables do I need and are they available from Creative?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Kev

You cannot connect them digitally. You have to use the analog connection to connect those speakers.
Note that the only thing that a digital connection does is change where the signal is decoded. Speakers are analog by nature and so a decoding process has to happen somewhere. Generally, your soundcard will have better DACs (Digital to Analog Converters) than "digital" PC speakers will. It really only makes sense to go digital if you are using a receiver that has better DACs than your soundcard, which would be mid- or high-end AV Recei'vers.

• Audigy 4 Pro + new driv

I just recently reinstalled Windows, and updated to the latest drivers after a week or so. during that week (and before the reinstall) the card worked flawlessly. Now, after a few minutes from boot, it begins to squeal. Where normal sounds would play, (clicks in my browser, games, movies) different pitch squeals play on top of the constant squealing. Music and Wav files, however, play fine--with the squealing still behind it.
Creative Diagnostics comes up clean.
Ive tried any solution Ive seen online here, reinstalling, etc.
Oddities Ive noticed:
The CTHELPER.exe and DLLML.exe processes seem to have crashed and resist being killed.
CTHELPER was disabled from starting with Windows.
System:
Dual Opteron 240 workstation
2 GB RAM
Tyan K8WE motherboard
Windows Server 2003 SP - Windows XP drivers should be fully compatible
Audigy 4 PRO - only drivers installed/drivers & basic Creative utilities
Any help would be appreciated.

You meant ASIO, didn't you.
ASIO driver becomes installed automatically when you install drivers for your card. You select the driver mode in Audition Audio preferences from a droplist. You should see least three Creative/SB ASIO drivers listed there ... one for 24/96 and two for 6/48 "resolutions". If you can't see these drivers listed there then just reinstall (the latest) drivers from Creative Support/Downloads.
NOTE: Adobe added ASIO support in Audition from v. 2.0 so, if you have the v. .5 there ...

Hmm. The problem still may be the RAM - Apple buys the RAM it puts in its machines from third-party vendors (usually Hynix) so it could be a RAM problem.
There are a couple of things that you can do yourself before taking your machine into an Apple Store or an AASP... download and run an application named Rember that will run a RAM test for you - let it run for a couple of hours or even overnight. If it turns out that your RAM is faulty, Rember will let you know. If it is faulty, then you have a couple of options - replace the RAM yourself or (particularly if you're under warranty still) take the machine to an Apple Store or AASP and have them replace the RAM.
If Rember finds no fault with the RAM, then you'll need to take it into an Apple Store/AASP and get a free diagnosis on the machine. Three beeps do usually indicate faulty RAM, but if it tests good with Rember you likely have another problem - it could be something as simple as the RAM, somehow, not seated correctly or signs of another hardware problem.
Run Rember first... call back with results.
Good luck,
Clinton
