Audigy SE Mic Probl

I recently got an Audigy SE and plugged in my headphones to the Line-in (Green plug) and the mic to the "Flexijack" (blue plug). Now, my mic is not recognized by Windows. If I try to open Teamspeak. it says I do no have a sound.out device. If I try to test hardware, it does not see the mic. I am sure it is plugged in the correct spot. Furthermore, I went into the mixer and apparently the microphone can be set both as a source and a recording device. Anyway, I went in there and made sure mic was set as a recording device. Whenever it is set as the recording device, I hear a low hiss in my headphones, yet when I switch my mic to the headphone plug, it doesn't pick up on the mic there, either.
So, basically, the card is not picking up my mic, and if I have my mic unmuted, then I hear a hiss in my headphones. Anybody have a suggestion?

Same card, same issue with the mic not being recognised even though the line is swithced off.
There are a lot of issues here posted that go unanswered and unresolved and i think the lack of input or help from creative admins says quite a lot.

  • Audigy SE - mic input suddenly stopped working

    .Audigy SE - mic input suddenly stopped working6 I use a Creative Audigy SE sound card and it has worked fine since the day I bought it until recently the mic input stopped working.
    Fair enough, I tested with spare headset in case headset was faulty. No workie. I tested headset in laptop - workie.
    So I bought a replacement card, no workie. I get sound out, but cannot get a signal on my mic when connected.
    I have troubleshooted this extensi'vely (checking the settings in the creative panel, windows control panel, the mics mute switch is not on) and have run out of leads.
    edit: i have also updated drivers and tried a different pci slot.

    So after my mic input stopped working on my Soundblaster Audigy, I have done the following troubleshooting:
    - checked headset works in another computer;
    - bought a brand new sound card;
    - checked all driver settings for an accidental mute;
    - updated sound card drivers;
    - ensured on-board audio is disabled;
    - formatted windows XP;
    - Run XP control pan audio diagnostics.
    Still I cannot get sound on my Mic input. My sound output to headphoes is fine. Can anyone offer any other trouble shooting?

  • Audigy 4 Pro Mic probl

    Hello, it's me agian... I'm having massi've problems with the my mic on my Audigy 4 pro, I plugged my mic into the front line /mic in using that big connector that came with the sound card but no matter what I do I cannot get it to record at a decent level, could you tell me what settings to use, the mic was fine with the Audigy 2 ZS gamer I had.... thanks

    This seems to be an option that creative have left off the control pannel, on most cards you have the option to use mike gain.
    On the Audigy 4 Pro creative have left this option out for some reason, maybe someone from creative might like to post a comment on this, as i have the same problems in voice over net conferences and i never had this problem with li've 5. platinum card.
    Maybe a ploy from creative to get you to buy their headsets i:e HS-300

  • SB Audigy Platinum Front I/O Mic Probl

    Whatever i do, i just can't seem to get the microphone plug on the I/O module to work. When i plug
    my microphone in the back of the sound card itself, it works, but not when i plug it in the front.
    The strange thing is that the headphone plug on front seems to work, but the microphone doesn't.

    Hello, is this the place for an argument? Oh wait, that's a Monty Python skit, not real life. *ahem*
    So what I'm hearing is that we're basically on our own. Is it that hard to answer a simple question like, "How do I completely uninstall ALL my SB Fatalty drivers and install brand new fresh ones from the internet, and in doing so, hopefully reset my I/O dri've?"
    That's my question.
    Cheers,

  • Audigy 4 mic having problems in Vista

    Ok, so I have Vista Ultimate 64 bit addtion and an Audigy 4 sound card. The sound sounds great but my mic is very wishy washy when using the card. I downloaded their latest drivers and have even resulted to other types of drivers but no matter what it has the same problem or the problem is only improved slightly. Basically, when I first start the PC the mic usually doesn't work, but then randomly out of no where it will start working after awhile, but the thing is is that it will either work or it will be EXTREMELY crackily, however, even if it does work it eventually just ends up not working anyway. So basically it is really crackily and annoying or doesn't work half the time. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Are you running some version of Office 2003 or 2007? On some machines no matter what operating system, certain versions of Office turn on the microphone because of an "invisible always running tray applet". A friend of mine bought a Dell laptop in 2003 that was brand new. After a few days, random gibberish would pop up on his screen in every place you could type text. We then determined that Dell's default setup always had voice recognition software always calibrating itself. Some Dell laptops even had Dragon Naturally Speaking on them with the bundle and that program was fighting with the MS Office voice/systray applet.

  • Audigy 4 mic

    Hi,
    I would like to buy an Audigy 4 pro card but I need a very low noise mic input. Is A4 Pro really high quality in this field? Now I have Santa Cruz - Turtle Beach, just bought external mic preamp and noise level is absolutely terrible. I wonder if Audigy 4 would help me with this. Also, how much of an advantage it is to have mic pluged into an external box? Does it prevent it from getting extra noise from computer insides and makes it even less noisy? If so, I might get Audigy 2 platinum EX, since it has similar external box.
    thanks for any info...

    To show my actual noise level problems here is a little clip of noise that my current soundcard makes at about 50% inputs\outputs levels: http://s43.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2WXYE20NNRPTO2DHNHCI9ZAP9V
    I would somehow need to eradicate as much noise as possible...

  • Audigy 4 mic prob

    I cannot get my Sennheiser PC50 mic to work with my audigy 4 sound card in games like CS: Source. No matter what plug I put the mic into it does not work with CS. I can record things in the the EAX console if I use line-in /MIC plug and I have to turn up the volume on the mic with the knob on the right side of the I/O hub. But cannot get it work in games. Anyone know what to do? This is driving me crazy because now I have an expensi've sound card that will not let me do simple things that onboard sound will let me do without any effort.

    I beli've you mean this from Steampowerd.

  • AUDIGY Se Mic ISS

    BIZAARE Microphone issues
    Hi,
    First of all thanks in advance to anybody who can help me with this problem. Not even the computer shop near me were able to pin this issue down for me so I?d be really grateful to anyone can offer me support.
    I have an nvidia n680i mobo and I use the onboard sound card to work my mic. The other day however it suddenly stopped working. I updated my motherboard driver and this didn?t fix the problem. The problem was at first intermittent; when I rebooted it would come back on but the all of a sudden it would turn off.
    To try and quickly resolve the issue I bought an AUDIGY SE and plugged it in, but amazingly I had the same problem.
    Let me tell you a few incidents to see if it helps pin the problem down. I started the machine and my mic worked (I could see the green bar going up and down in ?sound? in control panel. I unplugged the mix and plugged it in a few times and it still worked. I then plugged in a different headset(one more comfortable) and it stopped working?!?! I also rebooted and got it to work another time, but then when I launched a program (Call of Duty 4 to be precise) it stopped working again.
    I just cannot figure out what the issue could be when I have technically bypassed the motherboard by putting a new soundcard in.
    The cause of the problem is so hard to pin down.
    Is there any advice anyone can offer me?
    I?m running on vista home premium 32bit, 2 gig ram, nvidia nforce 680i mobo with an e660 oc?d to 3.2ghz.
    Thanks,
    Anthony.

    I only bought this motherboard due to the sound card on board, i got stereo but its crap as i cant get my optical to surround sound or coax, if i download new drivers the software from creative to configure doesnt work, will someone please fix this,? its unfortunate but vista is here to stay.

  • Audigy 2ZS Mic problems ag

    Once again after another 6 months my SB Audigy freaks out and I cant use my mic.
    I go to surround mixer and set it up like the posts in the forums say to fix it and nothing changes. I go to Windows settings for sounds and i cant get my mic button to unmute for some reason. Can anyone help on this one, its so frustrating, did the driver update, still nothing.
    Thank You

    If something works for 6 months then stops working there are only 3 reasons:
    . hardware failure
    2. you have installed something on your computer
    3. you have changed some settings on your PC
    Which one apples to your situation?

  • Echo's and mic proble

    I recently bought an Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE, which when installed worked fine at first until I installed all of the drivers on my computer. Since the install of the new drivers people can hardly hear me over the mic and I get echo's on and off about 50% of the time from just normal audio. I have reinstalled several times and made sure my connections were good and that they were plugged into the correct slot, and I also attempted trying without the drivers again but I still get the same problem.
    Please help.

    I do iChat audio conferencing all the time with my 12' Al G4 with Tiger. I simply use the built-in mic and the built-in speakers and everything works fine - I suspect yahoo messenger will work the same way. Try using what you have first - if that doesn't work out - THEN look at buying a headset.
    BTW, keep in mind you really can't both talk at the same time.
