Audio input suddenly does not work

The audio input on my macbook has been working perfectly fine for the past 3 years until today. In GarageBand it doesn't even pick up any sound whatsoever. I have the preferences set to audio-input as my default input recording. If I barely move my cable out of my audio-input jack I can pick up sound for a few seconds. I tried different cables and bought a new adapter. What can be done to fix this or is it a soundboard issue?

Actually... before you do that - go into system preferences under sound and see if you can get a signal on your input.

I see you are on Windows 7. Have you accidentally muted Firefox? While Firefox is running, try right clicking on the volume icon in the task bar and choose ''Open Volume Mixer''. Here you have options to mute the whole system or individual programs. Check to be sure you haven't muted Firefox by accident.
If that doesn't work, you can also look at the Knowledge Base article [[Video or audio does not play]]. There is lots of good stuff in there about troubleshooting different multimedia plugins.

Apogee ensemble input section does not work with pro x

Downloaded the "maverick" ensemble software, Upgraded the ensemble firmware. The latest downloadable ensemlble manual available is for 10.6. The instructions do not look like they match pro X The input section on the ensemble does not work. The output section works. I'm sure it's just an audio setting change either in maestro or in pro x . Anybody come across this problem? Solution? Thank you.

Double escaping suddenly does not work anymore.

We have WCF Data Service that is configured to use
double escaping according to this article

During a long time (a year or more) this solution worked well for us. And suddenly, a week ago, we found that on some our services (in cloud, in out of cloud)
double escaping does not work anymore.
For example, request to our service may looks like
http://service-host/odata-service/ContentTreeNodes('ID-%257BFEE06CEE-F667-45A2-9014-394F4B7CD3B0%257D')/
In sample above we have ID that without double escaping looks like ID-{FEE06CEE-F667-45A2-9014-394F4B7CD3B0}
But when our service processes this request ID becomes like ID-%7BFEE06CEE-F667-45A2-9014-394F4B7CD3B0%7D.
And that is means that .NET (WCF Data Services) infrastructure removes only single escaping and forget (ignore) to remove second one.
We have an assumption that issue probably maybe caused by some Windows security update. Because on some PCs it works well.
Does anybody have similar issues?

I suppose you tried to uninstall this patch from Azure VM. If so then yes, it can not be done. Seems it prohibited by MS or at least I do not have answer how to do it.
At the same time I had no such problems with out of cloud PCs.
BWT, we recently found that we do not require double escaping anymore in our service, because single escaping now works well for us. Looks like MS fixed an issue regarding # symbol in URL path. Now if URL has # in some URL path (for example in entity ID),
then single escaped # works well.

Programmatically clearing an input item does not work

I want to clear one input item (RichInputListOfValues) contained in a PanelForm programmatically, after the user presses on the "Clear" button:

Drivers 2.84: audio control still does not work

Hi there,
is still got the same problems i already had with the v1.13 drivers. The soundstorm panel output sliders don't. They just don't work at all. The windows "sndvol32.exe" works fine though. I am running a german windows XP. I deleted all localized .dll's as the are unusable anyway. ( I donno who has done translation and QC at NVIDIA)
And my major problem:
Under Input / Record there is no recording device available. (Digitzed input is there)
to sum things up:
- The output sliders still do NOT work at all
- There is still no recording device selectable
- Localization got better, but is still unusable (same prob as with the 41.xx video drivers. the text just does not fit in the panel, which looks garbled)

but, i already tried it. I switched every possible thing to english(USA). removed the old drivers, cleared the registry, installed from scratch ... The Soundstorm Control still does not work. I guess it's because i am running a german Windows XP ( Though i really switched everything to english..)

Audio digital output does not work.

I'm having a hard time with this problem. I have a Toslink cable to plug the iMac with a a/v receiver. I plug the cable but the iMac won't recognize it and in sound preferences it will show that it's headphones and no sound is coming. Same cable and same setup works perfectly with the Macbook. As soon as I plug the cable to it, it shows that it is digital output in the sound preferences.
In short, the problem is that the iMac does not activate the digital output when the toslink cable is connected.
Any ideas about how to solve this problem? I am crossing my fingers for not having a hardware problem.

Have you tried looking for a bit longer miniplug adapter for the Toslink? It is that the digital plug is a little longer that it can activate the switch inside.
If not, it is under warranty. Arrange to have it looked at.

Input Date does not work correctly In dynamic region

Hello everyone.
I created a view with a dynamic region. When switch to a region with Input Date components, if I click the "Choose Date" button, this region will exit to default region without any error message.
The component works well in default region but not in regions switched by Link.
I tried it in a completely new application and i am sure there is no any problem except the component and the region themselves.
SO, if someone tied doing this and know what cause it and how to fix it?

Well, i find out the problem. I set the managed bean of the region backing scope, and Input Date is a server-side component. So the taskflow id will lost when i click the Choose Date button.
change the scope to pageflow, and it works.

MIDI keyboard suddenly does not work in logic

Well, I bought a new keyboard over the weekend because guitar center was having its sale.
Thing is, I have already tried it out, and it worked. It is connected to my PreSonus firebox, and I cant for the life of me figure out why it isnt working anymore. It turns on, it plays through the keyboard's internal speakers if I turn the volume up, it is connected to my audio interface, and logic plays tracks through it just fine. The only thing is that my keyboard isnt working as a controller. I have checked all the connections, restarted logic multiple times, and turned everything (except my macbook) off and on. Nothing.
So I went ahead and pulled out my old keyboard which I have not attempted to sell yet, and it didnt work either. So either there is something very simple that I am overlooking, or there is a problem with the MIDI cable, or with the jack on my firebox.
Any ideas? I'm hoping that I'm just being stupid...

Ah, it is a MIDI keyboard without an interface, so you send midi to the Presonus, which I think also has MIDI, right? Is there no setup software for the Presonus?
The fact that your Keyboard doesn't have its' own (USB-) midi interface, means that it will not appear in AMS - the Presonus MIDI ports should show up. You can create the keyboard in AMS though, and cable it to the Presonus MIDI. Just click "Add Device" and fill in the correct info.
And trying a different MIDI cable may be a good idea as well.
And check the Presonus for switches that may be in the wrong position.

IMovie HD suddenly does not work right.

I am currently working on an iMovie HD project. All of a sudden, the clip menu is acting strange. Whenever I scroll down, it just stops at the exact same point in the menu every single time. Then it takes forever to scroll back up and I can't scroll any farther down or select clips. Either that, or the program crashes. It's been doing this for about a week and it's really frustrating. Has this been happening to anyone else?

Garage band suddenly does not work with my apogee jam. What's going on?

Worked fine last week. Hooked it up tonight and I can't get it to recognize the apogee jam. Tuner still works... No sound and monitor light refuses to connect. Very frustrating!!!

Try to reset GarageBand:
Go to the "Settings" app, and scrolll down all the way to GarageBand, enable "Reset".
Does it only happen with one particular GarageBand project, or any project? If it is only one project, delete it and start over with a new project.
If happens with all projects,
restart your device.

PC to Phone connection suddenly does not work

I bought Nokia N86 2 weeks ago, I connected it to by notebook Vista using the USB cable provided. It connected fine, it always has this pop up on the phone like connect it as PC Suite and etc. I could transfer picture from the phone, and also transferred files from PC to the phone.
Yesterday, I tried to do the same thing by connecting the phone to PC using the cable. Nothing happened.
What is the likely problem? What should I do? Any help is much appreciated.

Sorry, I can't help with your specific problem but I'd just like to express how I'm becoming more and more disgruntled with Nokia's phones and software. I have had the same issue this morning and came here looking for a solution. My 3 week old Asha 300 phone was working perfectly yesterday (at least, once I finally got it to see the phone ) with either Bluetooth or USB connection to the PC be it tethered for 3G internet or synchronising and suddenly this morning it doesn't see the phone anymore on either. The computer hasn't been switched off and nothing has changed since i used it yesterday. I had a similar issue with my last phone, a 6275i. One day it'd hook in fine, the next nothing. So much so that I stopped bothering to back it up. And this was on 3 differnt computers with OSs ranging from XP Pro to Win7.
Their connectivity drivers are randomly flakely at best. I think this will be the last Nokia I buy.

Phone in iphone 5 suddenly does not work

Help! Suddenly the "phone" on my iPhone 5 doesn't work. Worked two hours ago, but now, just says "searching" when I hit a number in recents. Tried using the keyboard and contacts...nothing. Other iPhone features work: Safari, email, all there...except the phone! Any ideas?

Using another phone, I called my daughter, who works at an AT&T call center. She said the same thing: do the "soft" reboot using the Sleep/Wake button and the home button. Leave it off for 5 minutes, which knocks you off the network. Hit the sleep/wake button and the iphone woke up fresh as a daisy and reconnected to the network and now works great! Thanks for getting me started in the right direction!

Input Help (F4) does not work for Planning Functions in Web

Hi Gurus,
I am working in BI-Integrated Planning.
When I execute a planning function from web layout (through Web Application Designer), the "Input Help" does not work. When I give F4 it takes me to the initial planning layout screen from the planning function variable screen without any action being performed.
But the "Input Help" works fine when I have to select for the variable from the initial selection to open the planning layout.
Can anyone suggest me any fix for this...
