Audit log of POST content stream for HIPAA

Gentlemen,
One of the regulatory requirements developers of medical applications need to comply with is the complete logging of all access of and modification to Protected Health Information (PHI).
Luckily for me I already have a custom authentication scheme on all my apps. Logging the query string on a page GET is easy: owa_util.get_cgi_env('QUERY_PARAM') does the trick quite nicely.
Logging the content stream on a POST is less obvious, since it has already been consumed by the time my custom authentication module is invoked. All I really need is the content of the f?p URL positions 7 and 8, itemNames and itemValues respectively. Is there some API I could call that would give me these values for the current POST, since there does not appear to be a global bind variable with these values?

Susan,
I would not regard the machinery involved in POSTing to fall under either data access or modification categories. These are merely intermediate components that faciliate a particular data transmission protocol from the browser to the application. More precisely, I think it is more pertinent to regulatory conformance to identify sensible endpoints of such transmission so that they the sending and receiving nodes in the exchange are both handling the data as information (PHI in this case), not as TCP packets on the wire, not as program memory structures, not as POSTdata, and not as individual PL/SQL program input parameters. I think it makes the most sense to identify the information as it is acted upon by the application (create/udate/delete physical operations, and logical operations involving higher-level transactions) and to log activity against the information at those points only.
In any case, POSTed forms in HTML DB pass parameters to the wwv_flow.accept procedure. The values you asked about are not easily discernable from POSTed data as they are in the form of internal page item IDs and values.

Hi VikingOSX. Yeah, the discussion forums are a mess today. You can quite often see in the overview screen that a reply to a post has been made, but upon checking it, there is no new content. Very frustrating when trying to view updated posts. You can sometimes see recent replies by posting in the thread. I typically just post "posting to see reply"

Can I get the Mac address in Audit logs of Active directory server for the user's machine which connect to the network/Domain

I am trying to get the information of all the user's who connect to our Domain network by signing in using the domain account. For this I am using the Windows audit group policies ( I am not sure of there is any other way). I can see when the user tries
to login to the network there is a audit event created on the AD/DC server. I can see the Kerberos authentication and logon/logoff events in the audit events under event viewer.
However the info which is being populated in these events include :- Hostname, IP address, Username and so on... But I can't see the MAC address of the user machine/system. Is there any way I can
get the Mac address of the endpoint system as its one of the important criteria for our project.
Any inputs on this would be appreciated, incase if there is any other way other than group policies please suggest.

If you use DHCP, you can query the DHCP server. There's no builtin
method to get the MAC address directly.

Audit Log Reports

Hi
I have configured site collection audit settings but not able to get old data about users activities on portal using this feature.
i have created it last dec 10th 2014 and whenever i run audit log reports, it generates report for only from dec 10th to 12th.
i am not able to get six month old users activities details using this feature on share point online.
can you please help me out here if possible?

Trace level of RWB's Message Monitoring - Detail Message - Tab "Audit log"

Hi,
My flow is: File -> PI -> Transformed File with seeburger module. Everything is good except the trace level in RWB.
Exactly, in our PI production, under RWB -> Message Monitoring, when I select a message (e.g PI -> Outside) and see its Detail, under tab "Audit Log", I have a log with only 2 pages (which corresponds to the sender part "File -> PI")... whereas in our PI pre-production, I have 4 pages for the exact same flow, on which I have also info of the receiver part "PI -> Outside"...
My question is just: do you know which parameter is involved in this trace level of RWB's Message Monitoring Detail log ?

coz I did a quick look in prod and pre-prod, but it seems the severity is the same (e.g "Info" for most of them) whereas the trace level of "Audit log" is different.

For all the access requests we are getting the complete audit trail and Even we will get whether Risk Analysis is scheduled in the Workflow.
But is there any possibility to get the output of Risk Analysis in the audit trail?

in standard solution what you can see in audit log is the information risk analysis during access request was executed, there is no standard way to see this information in audit log.
If you go for abap customization, please note this information is usualy very big and long and adding it to audit log my simply make audit log unclear...and very much complicated.

I tested in my lab, it is the same with your result. As a workaround, since the mailbox audit log entries are stored in the Audits folder, we can MFCMAPI to delete the Audits folder which is a subfolder of Recoveralbe Items folder.

Audit log web service for Office 365

I am working on developing an application that will interact with the Office 365 services. I am currently able to get the files and folders of a singed-in user using the OAuth2 authentication. I am aware that we can get the audit logs and it will be exported
to Microsoft Excel.
However, my question is : Is there any web service or endpoint I can use to access the logs using REST API. For example, Box provides an api/endpoint to achieve this: http://developers.box.com/docs/#events.

Currently displaying audit log reports in REST or API is not supported by Microsoft. SharePoint online in Office 365 just supports saving an audit log report as a Microsoft Excel 2012 Preview workbook.

'Content viewing' in 'Audit Log reports' throws timout error

I have enabled 'Reports' in the site collection features and I am tryin gto generate the 'Content viewing' in 'Audit Log reports'. This keeps me waiting for a couple of minutes and throws a timeout error. Could you please let me know why is this happening
and is there any way to resolve it ?
I am getting the below error in UI and in my logging database

Hi,
According to your issue, firstly, please check if your hardware performance is poor or the site collection has numerous data, if so, improve the hardware or pull the
data out of the tables, then check the effect.
Secondly, if you cannot view audit reports for the site http://servername /sites/sitename
Try to detach and attach content database for the site you want to view, then check the effect.

Security Audit Log for XI IB

Hello,
on the ABAP Stack it is possible to activate the security audit log, to log activities on certain objects/functions. Is there also a possibilty to do this for the JAVA-Stack.
We have for legal reasons to log, want users are doing on the productive XI system. E.g. we wanna log if someone is changing the value mapping or configurating the adapter.

Runtime error for Audit Log reports

Hi,
I have activated Reports feature at Site Collection level and then tried to run custom report for Dashboard library under Audit Log Reports but I got Run Time error. I tried on my local machine and on server.
Can any body let me know how to resolve this issue to get custom report?
Any help would be appreciated.
BELOW IS THE ERROR MESSAHE:

The audit log reporting is kind of tricky to work with...until you know what you're doing.
Some things to check: Do you have the Reporting feature enabled? Do you have auditing enabled on sites in this site collection? Have any events been triggered that would have written to the audit logs? Did you specify an output library
for the report? Will the report have any data?
Also, look at the SharePoint logs in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\LOGS\ and let us know any "Unexpected" errors.

SQLException in the audit log for the Message Display Tool

I´m newbie in PI Technology, and i have some issues when i try to do the next.
This is the scenario:
I need to communicate two systems, for one side i have SAP, and for the other side i have ADI (legal system) so, i use PI to do this (the communication), PI receive the data from SAP by means abap proxy, until this everything is correct, then i do the mapping of the data and i send a message to ADI (with the SAP XI Runtime Workbench) by means JDBC adapter, if i check the sended message with "Message Display Tool" show that the message was sent (status "Delivered") but if i check the received messages option, in the audit log displays the five next errors:
Error: Could not execute statement for table/stored proc. "FADIA4" (structure "StatementFADIA4") due to java.sql.SQLException: FADIA4 in FILEMET not valid for operation.
Error: JDBC Message processing failed, due to Error processing request in sax parser: Error when executing statement for table/stored proc. 'FADIA4' (structure 'StatementFADIA4'): java.sql.SQLException: FADIA4 in FILEMET not valid for operation.
