Authorization issues... keeps bringing up OLD user id

Since I started using iTunes years, I have changed my Apple ID.
I have several new computers, iphone, etc, but still using one of my original ipods in the home office
for my music (its an old 40gb model).
I recently added a new iMac and transferred all of my music to it and that will be my only machine with
music on it now. Since my old ipod is firewire, I had to wait to sync until I got an adapter. Adapter works
great BUT iTunes keeps asking me authorize the computer... then it tells me it is... of course it is, with the
new id. The problem seems to be with the large volume of music purchased with my OLD id.
As far as I can remember I never changed my password, just my id. So, I tried restoring the ipod
but they didnt help of course. All that did was remove a HUGE amount of my purchased music.
I can't seem to figure out how to get this goofy set up to recognize that i'm the same customer.
So in the meantime I have no way to move my music and large volume of playlists to my ipod.
So, again, it tells me the computer is already authorized when i enter my current apple id and password
but then tells me its not authorized for the old id and passord. I enter the info but it wont accept it
and has wiped all of my old purchases.
HELP!
thank you!
Dave D

For the problem with the Internet connection message try restarting or rebooting your iPad and then see of you can update the iOS.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If you changed your ID go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out of the old ID and sign in with the new one.
If you created a new ID, you have to continue to use that to update all apps purchased with it since purchases are always tied to the ID used to make the purchase.

  • Bringing in old user name and info.

I had a hard drive failure recently but fortunately we were able to save my old user name with all the info.  I had to download and install the new softward.  For whatever reason I can't find a way to open up my old user name in the old software.  Any help you could offer would be great!!!

The version of Palm desktop you downloaded, is it the same version you used previously?
If not, what version did you download? If you have the user folder from a version 4.x palm desktop and are now using 6.2, it will not work. You need to use the same version you had installed previously.
If you have the username folder and want to use that data, you will need to copy and paste the folder into the Palm folder in c-program files-palm or palmone. Open Palm desktop and the data should be there.
Here is a method for backing up your data for disaster recovery.
The best way to preserve your data is to export the data in each category in Palm Desktop to a seperate folder on your PC.
Create a new folder on your PC somewhere that is convenient. Name it something like Palm Desktop Data. Click on the link below and follow the instructions on that page for the export procedure.
    http://www.palm.com/cgi-bin/cso_kbURL.cgi?ID=28734
Make sure you select all for the range in the export window.
With the data saved in the folder you created, make a copy of that folder and save to a flash drive, cd-rw or external hard drive.
Anytime you make a change in Palm Desktop, export the data that was changed to that folder and save again to the external media.
With this process you can always import the data back into Palm Desktop anytime you have a problem with the data in Palm Desktop or if your computer/hard drive/device crashes.

  • Hi. I am a new apple user. I just switched and I find it really nice. I am having a hard time changing the apple id of my refurbished iPhone 3gs. I already have an apple id and when I try to update apps on my phone it keeps on asking old users password. .

Hi. I am having problems when I try to update my refurbished iphone to my macbook. It keeps on asking for old password of the previous owner. I created a new account here but it's all the same when i try to update. I need help. been trying to update since yesterday. will appreciate your replies.TIA

    Hi.
I had a similar problem myself. This is what helped me.
I went to the App store app, scrolled to the bottom, logged out of the account, re logged in with my Apple ID.  Then went back to app updates. Once I put in my ID password all was fine.

  • Link to my website keeps bringing up old website

I created a website and then made changes and saved and published the changes. Now I've placed an ad with a link to my website but it keeps linking to my old web page. In iWeb that page is no longer there, so I don't know how it keeps going to the old page. Has anyone encountered this problem? Need help quick. Thanks.

You are probably seeing old information from your browser's memory cache. Try emptying your browser cache. If you are using Safari, look under the Safari menu and select "Empty Cache..." Then reload your site. You should now see the fully updated site!
    Best of luck!

  • Groupwise Structure check can't remove old user db

Now I know there is a simple solution to this - delete the file manually but I'm just trying to understand why GroupWise can't clean up an [B]old[B] user db when it does a structure check. This is a very old file that's corresponding user was deleted pre-migration to 2012 and SLES and for some reason it never got cleaned up. We have deleted users since and the newer deleted users were cleared up correctly, so rights to the file location are fine I think. Here's what is shown in the gwcheck log:
Checking for user databases that do not correspond to active users
    Problem 39- Unknown file uservur.db - 163840 bytes, 08/04/14 19:32
    - deleting file
    - WARNING- delete failed: 0x8200
All I really want to do is make sure there are not rights issues and get the old user DB removed.
    TIA,
    Mark.

    Hi Mark,
I've seen this before, also where rights had been set ok and also with a couple of very old user db files. I suspect a bug in the gwcheck code where it's not using the whole path to delete the file (haven't checked for it to be a known one).
In the case where I saw it I just cleaned up the file manually ("the simple solution") as no other issues where reported for that system.
    Cheers,
    Willem

  • PA30 Display Facsimiles Authorization Issue

    Dear All,
I am facing one authorization issue in PA30 Transaction. User trying to display the archived documents from PA30 > Extras > Display All Facsimiles, when user trying to execute he is facing the below authorization issue.
You have no authorization to display the facsimile
    Message no. PG424
I have analyzed this issue this is lack of infotype authorization, but I am not sure which infotype we have to give under P_ORGIN authorization object. SU53 not showing anything for infotype, it is showing  ' ' in infotype.
I checked the below SAP notes also.
1562091 - Display all facsimiles: Incorrect Message PG424/PG425
1990223 - HRFORMS : Can not view archived documents in PA20
373063 - Authoriztn for applicnts opticl archv does not work
User getting access If I maintained Star (*) or (' ') . Please help me to solve this issue.
    Thanks

    Hello,
You can check which Infotype your archived document is linked to in table V_T585O. A user will require read authorization for that infotype as well as an authorization for S_WFAR_OBJ for the document type. If I'm not mistaken you may even need S_TCODE or P_TCODE for transaction SDV.
Secondly, I would not advise you to rely only on SU53 data for authorization checks as it only shows the last failed authorization check. You'll get a better view on what's going on by using the system trace (ST01) or the authorization trace (STAUTHTRACE).
It seems a bit odd to me that assigning P_ORGIN with value ' ' for INFTY would solve the problem as that is the dummy value and should match with any other INFTY value your user has. Seeing as he/she has PA30 then I assume he/she will already have an authorization for P_ORGIN. Check the settings in V_T585O for the document type. Maybe someone made a mistake there and left the Infotype cell empty instead of "-".
    Good luck

If you updated your existing account then try logging out of it on the iPad by tapping on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Stores and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on the iPad. If you created a new account then any content that you purchased/downloaded via the old account will remain tied to that old account, and only that old account can download updates to its apps.

HELP……I am so sick of this crap……I purchased a used Macbook from a local computer shop that takes them in on trades.  Well, I get home and the thing is great.  I love it except for one **** thing.  I CANNOT get the old users account to stop showing up under the app store.  The old account keeps telling me that two of my apps need updating, which I cannot get the old persons account logged off because I do not know their password.  The username mkp0818 is what keeps popping up and therefore I always have a two over my app store icon, because it shows that those two apps that the other party owned needs updating and of course I need help…..Hurry...

You need to erase the hard drive and install OS X either from the installer discs that came with the computer or from an Internet Recovery, whichever is supported by the computer. If it's a 2012 or late model you use Internet Recovery. If before 2012 you will need the installer discs that came with the computer when it was new.

I bought my iMac from someone. Everything was changed over to my name however when I try to update programs it only shows the old users apple ID and I can't update. How do I change this so I can update the applications and have everything fully under me?

The first thing to do with a second-hand computer is to erase the internal drive and install a clean copy of OS X. You — not the previous owner — must do that. How you do it depends on the model, and on whether you already own another Mac. If you're not sure of the model, enter the serial number on this page. Then find the model on this page to see what OS version was originally installed.
    1. You don't own another Mac.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a boxed and shrink-wrapped retail Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) installation disc from the Apple Store or a reputable reseller — not from eBay or anything of the kind. If the machine has less than 1 GB of memory, you'll need to add more in order to install 10.6. Preferably, install as much memory as it can take, according to the technical specifications.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the installation media that came with it: gray installation discs, or a USB flash drive for some MacBook Air models. For early MBA models, you may need a USB optical drive or Remote Disc. You should have received the media from the previous owner, but if you didn't, order replacements from Apple. A retail disc, or the gray discs from another model, will not work.
To boot from an optical disc or a flash drive, insert it, then reboot and hold down the C key at the startup chime. Release the key when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, you don't need media. It should boot into Internet Recovery mode when you hold down the key combination option-command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
    2. You do own another Mac.
If you already own another Mac that was upgraded in the App Store to the version of OS X that you want to install, and if the new Mac is compatible with it, then you can install it. Use Recovery Disk Assistant to create a bootable USB device and boot the new Mac from it by holding down the C key at the startup chime. Alternatively, if you have a Time Machine backup of OS X 10.7.3 or later on an external hard drive (not a Time Capsule or other network device), you can boot from that by holding down the option key and selecting it from the row of icons that appears. Note that if your other Mac was never upgraded in the App Store, you can't use this method.
Once booted in Recovery, launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive — not any of the volume icons nested beneath it. In the Partition tab, select the default options: a GUID partition table with one data volume in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. This operation will permanently remove all existing data on the drive.
After partitioning, quit Disk Utility and run the OS X Installer. You will need the Apple ID and password that you used to upgrade. When the installation is done, the system will automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have any data to transfer, this is usually the best time to do it.
Then run Software Update and install all available system updates from Apple. To upgrade to a major version of OS X newer than 10.6, get it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can't keep an upgraded version that was installed by the previous owner. He or she can't legally transfer it to you, and without the Apple ID you won't be able to update it in Software Update or reinstall, if that becomes necessary. The same goes for any App Store products that the previous owner installed — you have to repurchase them.
    3. Other issues
If you see a lock screen when trying to boot from installation media or in Recovery mode, then a firmware password was set by the previous owner, or the machine was remotely locked via iCloud. You'll either have to contact the owner or take the machine to an Apple Store or another authorized service provider to be unlocked. You may be asked for proof of ownership.
If the previous owner "accepted" the bundled iLife applications (iPhoto, iMovie, and Garage Band) in the App Store so that he or she could update them, then they're linked to that Apple ID and you won't be able to download them without buying them. Reportedly, Mac App Store Customer Service has sometimes issued redemption codes for these apps to second owners who asked.
If the previous owner didn't deauthorize the computer in the iTunes Store under his Apple ID, you wont be able to  authorize it immediately under your ID. In that case, you'll either have to wait up to 90 days or contact iTunes Support.
When trying to create a new iCloud account, you might get a failure message: "Account limit reached." Apple imposes a limit of three iCloud account setups per device. Erasing the device does not reset the limit. You can still use an account that was created on another device, but you won't be able to create a new one. Contact iCloud Support for more information.

  • Secured WebDAV Mounted Volume Authorization Issues

I use a secure WebDAV mounted volume from myDisk.se and up until the latest Security Update have had zero issues being able to manipulate files and folders as I would on a normal volume. However, since the installation of the Security Update (2009-004 (PowerPC) 1.0) I find weird things happening with this mounted volume:
    1) I am able to mount the secured WebDAV share using my security credentials.
    2) I can create a default "untitled" folder but when I try to change its name, the WebDAV authorization dialog pops up and despite entering the same credentials (why, I am not sure as the volume has already been properly credentialed in order to be mounted), access is denied.
    3) Trying to create a file within a folder on the mounted WebDAV volume I previously created pre-update causes the same authorization issue.
I have no other WebDAV shares I can try to mount from any other companies so I am not sure if this is a myDisk issue or one borne from the Security Update. I am not a .Mac/MobileMe user and that info is not filled out in System Preferences. The internal hard drive has been meticulously maintained with Disk and Permissions repair being run both before and after each and every software update installed. Likewise, the volume's structure is also checked both before and after and shows no need for repairs.
Any ideas? Perhaps there is a corrupted file somewhere that's affecting the authorizations needed by this third-party WebDAV volume?
The machine that has this problem is the last model iBook G4/1.33GHz 12" display, 1.5GB RAM, and a 100GB 5400rpm HD which replaced the stock OEM 40GB 4200rpm drive about one year ago.
I'm not willing to do an Archive and Install at this point as the loss of the WebDAV access to my online volume is not critical. Inconvenient as heck but not to the point where I'm willing (or able) stop my normal work to spend the hours it will take to get WebDAV access back.
Thanks in advance for any insights.

same problem here with webdav, I can't mount my idisk from university network on Mac Pro 10.5.3 (although it mounts fine from home network on both ibook and PMG5 10.5.3). Everything was fine with 10.5.2 and I already re-installed 10.5.3 combo. Other bugs as well with .Mac prefs (keeps crashing, sometimes it shows the available space on idisk but still no mounting, with error -35 or -8086), but .Mac sync is OK

    Hi,
Use ST01 to trace the user activities and check which objects its hitting when you click on those buttons, then you can restrict radio buttons using those objects.
I have'nt run the tcode myself and performed the steps you mentioned, but if you think its calling other transaction from those buttons you can manage tht in SE97, or add the t-code VA02 in the S_tcode auth object in PFCG.
Hope this should get you going
    Thanks,
    Vijay

  • How do i delete the old users account on my second hand imac g5 without the origonal disc

im new to imacs and not sure how to delete the old users account without the origonal disc

First of all, you need to make sure your current user account (the one you intend to keep) is an administrator account (not standard).
Go to System Preferences Accounts pane.  Click the lock, if it's locked, and enter your authorization, to unlock.
In the sidebar, you will see the list of user accounts.  To delete a user account, select it on the list and click the minus sign.
