Auto Batch Number

Hi,
How to map the following scenerio.....
When the user confirm the specific quantity using CO11N transaction,The system should give the specific customized batch number.
The system should not allow the repeatation of batch number.
Thanks in advance.
regards

Hi Subhash,
It can be possible to determine the batch number during the CO11N confirmation, check the following settings has been maintained for the scenario.
1. Materials having the Batch Management.
2. Go to OMCW, here create the strategy and assign the class and sort sequence to it.
3. Go to MBC1, here select the condition Plant/Material, maintain the plant and the materials for which you required the batch determination at the time of confirmation. then select the material and assign the appropriate class and the sort rule to the materials.
4. Take the trials during confirmation.
Please check this setting and revert.
Thanks
Hrishi

  • Auto batch number creation on CO15 GR

    Hi experts,
Can you guide me how to setup CO15, where during confirmation and auto GR of FG, system can supply a Batch Number (via specific logic in exit) automatically?
    Thank you!

CO15 is the production order confirmation screen  and  if you acitvated AUTO GR for the order and if the material is batch managed ,  you should have configured  batch internal number active,  system will create a batch number automatically.
Based on where you have created user-exit  ( if it is part of batch creation  BADI),  that should also kick in.
You can also look in creation of batch at the production order level itself when the order is released.
    cheers

  • Auto Batch Number FMS

    Hello Everyone,
I tried to create FMS to generate Batch Number. it works fine for the item in which I have multiple items having all the quantities been entered in to one batch but what if I have multiple items say I001 and I002 having quantities 100 and 50 respectively. But I have to enter I001 in 2 or more batches say B001 having quantity 50, B002 having quantity 25 and B003 having quantity 25.it also works fine till here.
the problem arouse when I select I002, its batch number is not calculated correctly as it must have to be B004, but it gives me B002..
Can anyone came across this situation and solved it then please share the query.
    Thanks in advance,
    Idrees

    Hi Ashish,
What version of SBO are you using? If it's 8.8 or higher then I recommend that you don't use OIBT for your query. In SBO 2007 and earlier this was the main table for batch data but this was removed in 8.8 and replaced with a number of new tables. A new view called OIBT was created for backwards compatibility but it is not very efficient and is most likely the reason for your query's slow performance.
You can find details of the new batch tables in the latest SDK documentation.

  • Stock to Stock Transfer (Changing Batch Number)

Occasionally we need to "correct" a batch number.  Most often because the user let the system assign an auto Batch Number instead of using our site procedure to create a "Smart" Batch Number (i.e. MMYYYYXXXXX).  We correct this by executing the MIGO Transfer Posting, Other, Movement Code 301.  This works for us, but is there some display screen that could be transacted, and them printed so it could be included in our Batch History Files?  This print out would need to show the "OLD" and "NEW" Batch Numbers.

I m just wondering if this approach is a good one. or just a waste of time and resources.
The problem starts with the fact that the user do not follow your procedures to assign "smart batch numbers" . And you want the same users to take a screenshot and attach it to some file.
Will this really work or just create another gap to be monitored?
Like for goods receipts and goods issues you can well have a material document printed for transfer postings. But I consider this as well as waste of environment since it has no more info than you have anyway in your system and you can find this evidence with MB51 whenever you want.
MB56 Batch where used list should also be able to display the transition from one batch to another.
I also wonder why you are using 301 movement, this is called plant to plant, I tend to use simple movements  where the users have not many options to do something wrong, hence I would do the batch to batch movement with 311.
And last but not least I would use the user exits for batch number creation to create this smart number automatically instead of manually, further it will ensure that you do not get any other internal batch numbers if the user forgets about your process

  • Batch number auto generation nedded

    hi all,
i have a query that when i make a GRPO of 10 items with different qty, these items are set to batch on every transaction, then it will ask to enter the batch number of all item with the number of their quantity, is there any process to create these batch number automatically, is there any formatted search query for auto generation of batch number.
even they are making GRPO by taking 100 items, it is very difficult to for them to to enter manually all the batch code.
is there any provision to do the task by formatted search.
    revert back soon
    its very urgent
    regards
    sandip

    Sandip,
I have answered a few posts on this Forum about the different options.  Formatted searches can be considered but you will need to maintain a temp table.
What is the real usage of the batch numbers in this business case?

  • Batch Number "Auto Select" Option?

    Hi All,
I've got an issue in batch number selection form, where when i'm selecting the batch number using auto select it is selecting the batch number starting with the smallest alphanumeric value, But it is supposed to select the oldest batch number first. as the client with whom we r dealing with is a pharmacetical trader, where he has to sale the products according to FIFO priority.
Is there any configaration settings regarding this option?
else i've got a thought like can we disable the auto select button?
    so kindly help me out
    Thanks In Advance

    hi,
It is standard system behaviour when you click auto select ,
it will pick up batches in sequential order.
    So avoid clicking auto select.
Enter reqd. quantity in selected batch and use > move it to right side.

  • Batch number format setup and auto batch creation during first GR

    Dear all,
    This is a batch question.
I know that both the master batch and the stock data for the batch are created automatically during the first goods receipt. Thus, I do not need to create this data manually.
    My question are following:
1 - what is the machnism that trigger this auto-batch creation in the system during the first goods receipt? is it from some kind of configuration?
2 - If I want my batch number to appear in certain format, for example, first four digit is customer code, middle two code is country code (i.e. US, UK), and the remaining as goods receipt date. How do I setup this in the SAP system.
3 - If batch classification is active, one can assign characteristic values to the batch when entering the goods receipt. HOwever, normally when I perform a goods receipt in MIGO, after putting in the production date and the batch number, I will hits the checkbox and if no problem, I will post the 101 document. WHERE in the MIGO screen I can assign the characteristic value to the batch?
    Thanks.

  • Auto Populating of Batch number (AUPOD-CHARG)

    Dears,
I am trying to populate the batch (field AUPOD-CHARG ) in the Process order under Tab "Goods Receipt", this needs to be picked default from the batch (field RESBD - CHARG ) which is under the BOM Item level in process order.
Here the scenario is we have already created the BOM with line item having Batch information. The same now needs to be picked default in the Process order under Goods Receipt TAB.
Please let me know if there is any way we can populate the AUPOD-CHARG filed default as mentioned above.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Viswanath

    Viswanath,
I would suggest to create a custom program with a BDC to update the batch, the logic of the program should be to first select orders which are not populated with Batch Number in the Order table(selection can be restricted based on specific status), and then for every order pickup the respective component batch number from reservation table, once this data is available, within the program peform a call transaction CO02(BDC), to create and populate the batch number to the order.
This Job can be run in background to the required frequency.

  • Batch number coming automatically at the time of Process order release

    Hi All,
I want the system generated batch number for header material to come automatically at the time of process order release.
At present ,the batch number is entered manualy dering process order creation.
Can anyone pls guide abt the settings required for the same

    Dear,
Define the  production scheduling profile CORY then
Auto Batch Creation = 2 On release.
Then assign this to your FG or SFG materials in work scheduling view in material msater MM02. Then create new order and check.
Now for automatic generation i have to set internal number asignment for batches.
Batch will create for movement type say 101 SPROLogistics - GeneralBatch mangment--Creation of New Batches --Define Batch Creation for Goods Movements. so it will have same logic in MM for 101 GR against PO will be internal number range but no effect in SD.

  • Problem with uppercase character in batch number

    Hi all,
    I have the following case:
Currently we have a batch number v10047 (character "v" in lowercase), we can see this batch in MMBE, MB52.
We want to transfer posting this batch, but when entering its number, SAP auto change the "v" from lowercase to uppercase, then it says "Batch number does not exist"!
I cannot display this batch in MSC3N either due to the same problem.
How can we prevent SAP from changing lowercase to uppercase?
    Many thanks,
    Duc.

    Hi Duc.,
Lowercase batches cannot be created by a dialog posting. If you check
the domain CHARG using SE11 you can see that the flag for 'lowercase'
is not set. This means that the batch entered will always be converted
to uppercase when this batch is entered on a screen.
The possibility is that you've transferred the batch info from IDOC or BAPI?
You may refer to note [104626|https://websmp201.sap-ag.de/~form/handler?_APP=01100107900000000342&_EVENT=REDIR&_NNUM=104626] and remove the batch stock using IDOC or BAPI again.
    Thanks and regards,

  • How to Change batch number in inbound?

    Hi, i have an issue.
In our STO process, because supplying plant is applied batch management, when create Oubound Delivery, we enter a batch number, example Batch A.
After post GI, the Inbound will be created automatically. And auto input the batch A in that IBD. That field isn't possible to be changed.
The user want to changed it to Batch B.
    The question here is :
Why batch A is input automatically to IBD?
How to change Batch A to another in IBD?
    Edited by: Luankuz123 on Oct 20, 2011 7:51 AM

    Hi,
In your case the stock is in stock in transit. You cannot change the batch number from A to B. It gives effect as A batch as negative and B batch as positive. Better do transfer posting from batch to batch in 309 after STO. Thanking you.

  • No batch number appears while saving delivery

    hi all,
While creating delivery, system is throwing a message
"cannot add row without selection of batch number" and
there is no batch no in the available batch for auto selection.
Our client is unable to create delivery and subsequently
    do AR invoice.
    Additional Info:-
Items in the delivery is already batch activated- Batch ,On Release only.
Batch was also activated in general settings of Administration module.
System was not asking us to enter  batch number anywhere in the production cycle.
    Expecting your esteemed reply.
    Jeyakanthan

    Jeyakanthan,
I believe you have Batch management set in the Item Master but it is on Realase only.
You can create Batch numbers for already received items. See help file extract below
In addition, you can enter batches for the received items if you did not do so while generating marketing and stock entry documents. However, this is only possible if your company allows the receipt of items to stock without a batch number.
To use this function, choose Inventory > Item Management > Batches > Batch Management.
In Operation..Select Complete – to create batches for the received items
Enter a range of item codes, for which you want to create or update batches.
Click Ok and create the necessary batches

  • MIGO: user exit for checking batch number

    Hello,
When using MIGO to do goods receipt (101 mvt) I need a user exit in each time a line is added to check the batch number entry. If the batch number is empty for certain materials issue a error message to the user.
    Thanks,
    Peter

    where is your problem then?
If you create batches automatically with 101 ,then each line will get its batch from SAP, no need to check if there something entered manually.
Why do you customize auto creation of batches, while you want the user to enter the batches manually?
can you give a bit more background?

  • Unable to determine Auto batch

    Hi Gurus,
My user is doing STO scenario,
He created P.O after that he done Vl10b and now he is doing delivery,
At this point user wants batch to be determine automatically.
I have maintained auto batch tick for the batch item category.
I have checked the stock for that material also, But still i am unable to determine auto batch for that material.
So please suggest me what setting need to be done to determine auto batch for this scenario.
    Thanks and Regards
    Subramanyam.N

    Hi Subramanyam,
Please check configuration steps for automatic Batch determination in delivery,As its very difficult to tell wht might be missing so i hope this will help you to resolve your issue.
To trigger the batch number in the delivery document automatically we need to do necessary configuration and master data maintenance.
1.Batch management works on condition technique, menu path: SPRO à Logistics General à Batch management à Batch determination and Batch check. Here we need to create new strategy types if necessary and access sequence if necessary, and also batch search procedure if necessary
2.Allocate the SD batch search procedure using the menu path: SPRO à Logistics General à Batch management à Batch determination and Batch check à Batch Search Procedure Allocation and check activation à Allocate SD search procedure/Activate check.
3.Activate Automatic Batch Determination in SD using menu path: SPRO à Logistics General à Batch management à Batch determination and Batch check à Activate Automatic Batch Determination in SD. Here we have two options, 1. To activate batch determination for sales order item and 2. is to activate batch determination for delivery item, upon the requirement we can activate at both the places, But in general batch are activated only at delivery item level.
4.If we need shelf life expiration date for the batch we need to create a class using u201Ct code: CL01u201D, type in a name for the class and select the class type as u201C023 u2013 Batchu201D and maintain the characteristics as LOBM_VFDAT and LOBM_HSDAT (this for production).
5.Once the class is created go to material master under classification tab and maintain the class created.
6.One more important setting in the material master is to check the batch management. This need to be done before you process the material for orders.
7.Go to create batches for materials using t code: MSC1N or menu path: SAP Easy Access à Logistics à Central Functions à Batch Management à Batch à Create/change/display. You can create new batches for the materials and also maintain the Shelf life expiration date (SLED) in the batch master.
8.so as to determine the batch automatically we need to maintain a condition record for batch search strategy type using t code: VCH1 or menu path: SAP Easy Access à Logistics à Central Functions à Batch Management à Batch Determination à Batch Search Strategy à for sales and distribution à create/change/display. During the maintenance, maintain the class also in the condition record.
These steps will automatically trigger batch management during delivery processing. System will allot the batch automatically upon the availability of the stock in the batch.

    Pavan
