Unable to determine Auto batch

Hi Gurus,
My user is doing STO scenario,
He created P.O after that he done Vl10b and now he is doing delivery,
At this point user wants batch to be determine automatically.
I have maintained auto batch tick for the batch item category.
I have checked the stock for that material also, But still i am unable to determine auto batch for that material.
So please suggest me what setting need to be done to determine auto batch for this scenario.
Thanks and Regards
Subramanyam.N

Hi Subramanyam,
Please check configuration steps for automatic Batch determination in delivery,As its very difficult to tell wht might be missing so i hope this will help you to resolve your issue.
To trigger the batch number in the delivery document automatically we need to do necessary configuration and master data maintenance.
1.Batch management works on condition technique, menu path: SPRO à Logistics General à Batch management à Batch determination and Batch check. Here we need to create new strategy types if necessary and access sequence if necessary, and also batch search procedure if necessary
2.Allocate the SD batch search procedure using the menu path: SPRO à Logistics General à Batch management à Batch determination and Batch check à Batch Search Procedure Allocation and check activation à Allocate SD search procedure/Activate check.
3.Activate Automatic Batch Determination in SD using menu path: SPRO à Logistics General à Batch management à Batch determination and Batch check à Activate Automatic Batch Determination in SD. Here we have two options, 1. To activate batch determination for sales order item and 2. is to activate batch determination for delivery item, upon the requirement we can activate at both the places, But in general batch are activated only at delivery item level.
4.If we need shelf life expiration date for the batch we need to create a class using u201Ct code: CL01u201D, type in a name for the class and select the class type as u201C023 u2013 Batchu201D and maintain the characteristics as LOBM_VFDAT and LOBM_HSDAT (this for production).
5.Once the class is created go to material master under classification tab and maintain the class created.
6.One more important setting in the material master is to check the batch management. This need to be done before you process the material for orders.
7.Go to create batches for materials using t code: MSC1N or menu path: SAP Easy Access à Logistics à Central Functions à Batch Management à Batch à Create/change/display. You can create new batches for the materials and also maintain the Shelf life expiration date (SLED) in the batch master.
8.so as to determine the batch automatically we need to maintain a condition record for batch search strategy type using t code: VCH1 or menu path: SAP Easy Access à Logistics à Central Functions à Batch Management à Batch Determination à Batch Search Strategy à for sales and distribution à create/change/display. During the maintenance, maintain the class also in the condition record.
These steps will automatically trigger batch management during delivery processing. System will allot the batch automatically upon the availability of the stock in the batch.

Pavan

  • Unable to determine the Batch Automatically by BAPI

    Hi SAP Experts,
    Greetings to all of you!
When I am making call to the Goods movement by GOODSMVT_CREATE the batch is not getting assigned automatically. The batch determination for MM is working fine from MIGO screen. Automatic Batch number assignment is also active in the system. As per the BAPI documentation the Batch should have determined automatically.
Did I miss any other setting in customization.
    Thanks in advance.

Have a look into OSS note 520813.Question 5
this blog is as well very good: http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ERPSCM/StockandBatch+Determination
And both say you have to do the batch determination before you call BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE
And that is my experience too.

  • Auto Batch Determination For Stock Transport Order/Replenishment Delivery

    All,
I have an issue with my stock replenishment deliveries (STPO, Stock Transfer Plant to Plant via standard MRP/Procurement process with a Purchase Order that is a Stock Transport Order).
One question I have is what module should the configuration be for Auto Batch Determination on deliveries from STPO's, is it SD or MM? The reason I ask is because I have the SD side working just fine for example if I enter a customer order for this material and issue a delivery against it I get a batch automatically assigned according to your search/sort criteria. I know with a Stock Transport you have different item categories etc. and I have flagged them as relevant for ABD.
I have been racking my brain regarding this and I have went through the configuration for both Inventory Management and Sales and Distribution. I have went through the steps several times. I am not seeing what I am missing any help in this arena would be helpful I am getting the following error message when I go to the batch tab on the replenishment delivery "Batch determination is not possible because there is no search procedure". I am at a loss to what configuration is needed. I keep going through the steps and I am not finding whats missing. Any help in this area would be most grateful.
    Thanks,
    Jeremy

    Hi Jeremy,
you need to configure batch determination in SD and maintain enteries in the trasaction code V/C5 as below
Sales org + Distribution channel + Division + DL (in salesDoc Ty) + Search procedure + tick check batch
Sales org + Distribution channel + Division + NL (in salesDoc Ty) + Search procedure + tick check batch
also check whether the delivery item category is active for auto. batch determination and maintain the batch condition record in transaction code VCH1

  • Auto batch determination from PO to Delivery

    Hi,
I have created a PO and entered the Batch manually.  While creating the delivery for the PO the batch is automatically determining.  But the delivery doc has imcompletion because of batch determination check error noticed.  After I deleted the batch in PO while creating the delivery again the batch is determined and dely doc also no incompletion found. Please anyone let me know what is the like between PO and delivery doc of  auto batch determination.

    Hi,
What you are referring to looks like a stock transfer process. Batch is determined automatically based on the Batch search strategy defined. It can be checked in transaction VCH3.
Ensure that the stock transfer quantity is available in the supplying plant and the batch qty is available in unrestricted use.

    Hi Seshu
First Try with different selection criteria, ie., with out giving any dates.  Mismatching of dates could be the problem.
Secondly check the valid from & Valid to date in COB1.

  • Auto Batch Determination for Subsequent Delivery (P.O Subcontracting)

    Hi Experts,
I have one subcontracting P.O with batch managed child components.
First of all i have configured/activated the autobatch determination for IM based on the MT543.
The system is able to perform autobatch determination for the subcontracting components when I perform Good Recipet against the subcontracting P.O (MT 101 for parent item and MT 543 for the child components).  I then perform the return delivery to vendor using MIGO for the subcontracting P.O (w/ MT122 for the parent item and MT544 for the subcontracting components). Subsequently,  using MIGO I perform Subsequent Delivery(A06) with reference to Material Document no. created for return to vendor (MT122) but here the system does not seems allow to use the autobatch determination function to automatically re-assign the batch no. for the subcontracting components (also system set default MT543 to issue the components).
How do I enable the auto batch determination function for the subcontracting P.O component when I perform the Subsequent Delivery for the subcontracting P.O? (which is based on the MT543 that i have configured/activated beforehand).
    Thanks

    Hi,
how have you activated batch determination in mtype - 543 ?
    Plz revert..
    thanks in advance...

  • Unable to release OPM Batch in R12

    Hi gurus,
We are implementing R12 OPM and using the shared version of unconstrained ASCP planning.
We are not able to release OPM batch planned orders to OPM execution.
The profile Auto Implement planning suggestion to APS is set as No and ran the "Auto Release of Planning suggestions for APS" concurrent request manually gives error message as
"Profile Update activity offset is not set",
Searched thro metalink and could not able to get the solution.
Can anyone help me to solve this issue.
    Thanks,
    Suresh

First try to create plan batch manually in Production Module.
If it allows you to create and save planned batch (FPO) then the issue is with ASCP-OPM integration.
If you are unable to create planned batch manually, check for:
    1) Plant-warehouse setup in MPS
    2) Document ordering
    3) Valid effecivity for the item
I am not sure if all of these are still required in R12, but they are required in 11.5.10
If you are able to create FPO manually then there might be issue in integration where some setup steps is missing. You need to follow all the setup steps mentioned in ASCP-OPM integration manual.

  • Auto batch detmn for components in Process Order selects batch in Q status.

    Hi Gurus,
We have the following issue with automatic batch determination for component batches for a Process Order:
Say for a Process Order it requires components A,B, and C.
The issue is with component C. if the PO requires 100 Qty of C. the system is picking batch X having 80 qty  and picking 20 from another batch Y which is still in u201CQu201D status (due to some defects it is not cleared .  for which inspection should have completed 3 days before Process Order is released).
Also there are only these two batches for this component in MMBE.
What I understand is system adds GR date + GR processing days ( for inspection) and release component for production after that (ie., moves to Un restricted stock). Therefore system selects this batch as per the availability check (by calculating the GR+ GR processing date) even thoe it is not cleared yet.
Also, I want to know If this is correct procedure, how can we make system to not to include batch with Q stock (batch which is having some defects).
    Thanks,
    N.

    Hi
Use separate Checking Group(Availability Check) in MRP-3 view for comp C with the settings in OPJJ(Availability Check+Checking rule combination) with untick incl.quality insp stock. Idea is to select the un-restricted batch stock qty during Auto Batch determination for Components

  • Auto batch Selection in MB1B

    Hi All,
We want Auto Batch selection on FIFO Basis while transfering the Material to Sub Contracting Vendor through TCode MB1B.
    Thanks in Advance........
    Sanjay

    Hi,
I'm addin to Mr. Jürgen L. input. once you will put * and execute system will brin all live batches with quantity and will do the spliting of it also. but it will not in FIFO based.
So Lets try this and see how system behave
    1. Do the setting on 541 movment in "Logistics - General-> Batch Management-> Batch Determination and Batch Check->Batch Search Procedure Allocation and Check Activation->Allocate IM Search Procedure/Activate Check" Here allocate your IM seach procedure & put check batch tick on.
    2. maintain the batch serch strategy in MBC1 with the ME01 or if you are having any customized condition type then maintain for it.
    now try MB1B

  • My time/calendar can't determine location. Was fine before now says unable to determine location

I need some help in getting my clock/calendar to work again.  Was fine till recently then reverted back to 2000 with messed up time.  Tried to use set time automatically function but says unable to determine location.  Went to manually set time zone, date and time but the time now wanders off and does seem to properly keep time.  Anyone know what I can do to get the auto function to work again?

Hey Man I have the same problem, One day the screen just went black and from then onwards it has been reall problematic, I went to the apple store but they wanted about 100 bucks to have a look at it, although they did a diagnostic for free, but it didnt reval anything.
They said it was either the screen or the graphics card, and each one cost 750USD but 100USD to find out which........ I didnt fork out the cash though, a bit expensive!!!!!!!
However I did get the computer back up and running, by holding Opt on start up, mostly it goes to the f**king dark blue screen with the vertical lines. But every 10 to 15 goes I can get to the disk utility, If you run the repair disk and repair premonitions, then start up again it should boot up, you may get a day or two out of it before BOOM back the blue screen of vertical death.
I believe its the graphics thats busted, (which is soldered to the logicboard) so the only to fix it according to the apple guys is to get a new one at 750USD and about 2 weeks to get it done. here is a app called gfxCardStatus, and it tells you which card ur using (there is 2) when the card switches the computer crashes, you can set the app to only use the "Intrergrated card" but you cant watch movies or iweb, camera, just web browsing and text stuff....... the other HD card does all the other heaver graphic processing............
I hope this helps, but all in all, lots of people have had the same problem and Apple have not declared it a fault on there part, they boast about the quality of there products but in essence my last macbook died suddenly........ I invested in a macbookpro (early 2011) the graphics card is broke, the trackpad doesnt work properly and the screen has screenburn all over the edges and sides........... Seriously!!!! and the reply was buy another computer from the apple guys!!!!!! Pretty disappointed.

  • [SOLVED] Unable to determine major/minor number of root device - USB

I installed Arch on a USB harddrive of mine from within VirtualBox with the intention of running the installation (via the drive) on a laptop in my house. I passed through the drive through by creating a special vmdk (here - it's for "expert users only". ) and installed Arch on it by booting off the Arch 2011.08.19 iso and following the instructions. I do recall the installer complaining because /sbin/mkinitcpio was missing, so I copied over the one from the host (which is also an up-to-date Arch system). After that, everything worked and I was able to boot the drive within virtualbox.
Then I went and plugged it in to another laptop in the house and, surprisingly (for me at least), it got past GRUB. My joy was short-lived, because it failed just a bit later:
    :: Running Hook [udev]
    :: Triggering uevents...done.
ERROR: Unable to determine major/minor number of root device 'Waiting 10 seconds
    for device /dev/disk/by-uuid/[the uuid] ...

You are being dropped to a recovery shell
Type 'exit' to try and continue booting
sh: can't access tty: job control turned off
    [ramfs /]#
So I googled around for a while and plugged it back in to my computer, booted it up in virtualbox, and added "usb" to the HOOKS array right after udev in /etc/mkinitcpio.conf. Then I rebuilt the initramfs:
    # mkinitcpio -p linux
So I plugged it back into the laptop, booted it, and got the same error.
Later, in an attempt to isolate the problem, I removed "sata" from HOOKS, ran the same mkinitcpio command again, and rebooted the VM. I got what looked like the same error as the one above. yay. So I guess the usb hook isn't being loaded or something like that. (I've since added the "sata" hook back and rebuilt the initramfs so I can mess around in the VM )
I've tried removing autodetect from HOOKS (saw that in some threads) and trying different USB ports on the laptop, but nothing seems to be working. I also checked to see if virtualbox was providing a bogus uuid or something, but the one it's specifying seems to be correct - I looked in my computer's /dev/disk/by-uuid and it matched.
Info on the drive (first partition is /boot, second is swap (derp!), third is /, and fourth is /home):

    Perfect! Thank you!
Would it be safe to copy over the version from HEAD into my mkinitcpio?
EDIT: nevermind, derp derp the package is updated
    EDIT again: Actually, it's not.
I copied over the init_functions in HEAD into /lib/initcpio/init_functions and rebuilt the initramfs. It worked!
    Thanks guys!

This can happen when the network is too slow to allow a timely completion of the verification. Or the account running has no such right.
I suggest you try using the SA account for the job as it does not require to poll the AD.

access rights for the naming context:
             DC=ForestDnsZones,DC=hookemup,DC=local
             ......................... DC1-DEV-OFC failed test NCSecDesc
In researching this I find "If you do not plan to add an RODC to the forest, you can disregard this error."
We have not successfully run ADprep /rodcPrep nor do we plan on having any Read-Only DCs, so I think we can ignor this error. We did try running ADprep /rodcPrep but got an LDAP error which I can duplicate if this is important.
Schema and Naming FSMOs are on a DC higher in the forest. RID, PDC, and Infrastructure FSMOs for the child domain are on the Virtual server (PDC).
Any guidance on where to go from here would be greatly appreciated as I have no more hair on my head to pull.

Ok... I ran repadmin /showreps /v again and it shows no errors
    C:\>repadmin /showreps /v
