Automate receiving a fax and creation of PO thru SAP

Hi SAP Gurus,
I have a typical problem. I want to receive the Purchase Order thru fax into SAP. Convert it to text, read it and then automatically create a PO in SAP.
The process of receiving the fax and converting it into text can be done using a 3rd party process. But then SAP should be able to retireve this text from a text file and create a PO by itself.
A solution is desparately sought.
Thanks & regards,
Madhur

You should see the text file and then check if logic can be built to read and understand the text file using ABAP program.
e.g if the data is at a definite position in the text file or you can use pattern search to find the data.
The idea is that your program should be able to read and differentiate the PO data of text file ..like material, qty , amount etc.
You need to write an ABAP program which can be scheduled to run at regular intervals.
This program will read the text data from the file and convert it into the data required in BAPI BAPI_PO_CREATE ( or BAPI_PO_CREATE1)...Then call the BAPI to create POs.
Cheers,
Ram

  • Apple USB Modem, receiving a fax, and ethernet network

I am wondering whether the Apple USB modem will allow me to configure an intel Imac such that the iMac can be connected to a network via built-in Ethernet (all, other iMacs) and simultaneously receive faxes with a phone line connected to the USB modem. I have looked for this topic and come up empty … any help out there?
    Thanks

    Thanks for responding.
I am trying to set up receiving faxes for incorporation into medical records. I have purchased an Apple USB modem but have not been able to figure out how to configure the modem to answer the phone (or to show up in fax/print set-up window).
I have a cable modem that is connected to a router for internet connectivity. The rest of the work stations (all iMacs) share our office software via the built-in ethernet configured in Network of System Preferences. Also within preferences, external modem is "configured, but not connected". When I try to use the configure option, I am prompted for information that I don't have or need for connecting to the internet. Clicking the Modem button displays the type of modem and other general info. Applying these settings leaves the modem "configured, but not connected". Under printer-fax set-up, I have everything filled in but when I choose the Set Up Fax Modem button, nothing shows up under Fax List. I have the very same phone line connected to the modem that was connected to my fax machine (and switching it back allows the fax machine to work).
I am running OS X 10.4.9 and have seen some threads regarding faxing issues that may be present in this version. I will try the 10.4.10 update to osee if this solves the problem but would welcome any other suggestions.

  • Receiving a FAX or allowing PC user access to idisk file

    Hello everyone,
I work with someone who uses a PC and Outlook Express and I need to be able to receive her appointment schedule in some manner. I have Verizon DSL, I followed the Help instructions to set up my ibook to receive a fax and connected a cable from the modem on the ibook to the modem connection on my power strip but when she sends me a fax my ibook doesn't recognize it and stays in idle mode. I tried to set up a place on my idisk that she could put the schedule but it puts some photos in there from another homepage that I have and I can't figure out how she can put anything there.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. We have resorted to snail mail arrrrrgh!!
    Thanks,
    Anna

I know, that would be simple but apparently Outlook Express doesn't allow her to do that. She can print it and that's why we thought setting my ibook up to receive a fax would work.
    Thanks anyway,
    Anna

  • I have an Officejet 4500 g510n, and cannot receive any faxes ...HELP!!!

Since I changed my carrier for phone, internet etc, I have been unable to receive any faxes.  The phone rings, it starts to communicate, then it fails.  I have gone through the troubleshooting scenarios and changed my phone to 0 rings so the voicemail does not come on, but still cannot receive any faxes.
Can anyone tell me how I can fix this problem?  I had no issues with my previous carrier.

    Hi Trishiann,
I understand your printer is not receiving faxes. Take a look at the following document, Cannot Send or Receive Faxes.  I understand you went through some troubleshooting scenarios, so I apologize if some, or all, of this information is redundant. If there are suggestions in the document you have not tried, however, it would be a good place to start. Best of luck.

  • Cannot send/receive Fax through Windows Fax and Scan

Having a problem with Windows Fax and Scan on Small Business Server 2011 Standard SP1.  When I call the fax number, I can see the line ringing in the Fax Status Monitor, but it errors out with "The incoming call cannot be answered as a fax
call".  I've also tried sending and receive an error: "No dial tone was detected"  I've connected a regular phone to the line and placed an outside call and received a call from an outside line.  No errors are logged in Event
Viewer, but If I check the Server Roles, Fax Server shows Event ID 32092, 32032 and 32031
Troubleshooting so far has consisted of:
    Restarting Fax service
Removing/Readding the Fax Account in Windows Fax and Scan
Checked Print Spooler and Fax queue for held documents to clear (none)
Uninstalled/reinstalled the fax modem in Device Manager
Run Windows Update(several security updates pending)
Checked the DeviceToMonitor key in HKCU to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fax\UserInfo matches the DeviceName key in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Fax (at one point it did not match)
Removing/Readding the Fax Role.  In the process, also removing registry keys: HKLM_SOFTWARE_MICROSOFT_FAX, HKCU_Software_Microsoft_Fax, HKLM_SOFTWARE_Microsoft_Windows_CurrentVersion_Telephony_CountryList, HKLM_SOFTWARE_Microsoft_Windows_CurrentVersion_Telephony_Locations.

  • Why can't I receive a fax on my MacBook Pro?

I have just purchased an Apple USB modem to be able to use the fax software that came with my new MacBook Pro.
I sent a fax to Japan - no problem - it went fine and was received.
However, I was not able to receive the reply. The incoming fax was not recognized by the MBP. I set the number of rings at 2 for the fax to be automatically picked up by my computer, but the phone kept ringing and the computer never got the fax. I checked all the settings and they are all OK. The menu bar pull down for fax never even showed me "Answer Now" to let me manually get the fax. All it shows it Status : Idle... in grey - not clickable.
I quickly turned on the G4 and asked Japan to resend the fax. I got it fine.
I've read a few other entries here - seems like the fax software with OS X is not very good.
Does any one have any suggestions for what I can do? (My G4 is dying and I don't want to rely on it for faxing.)
OR could it be my new modem? But it worked fine for sending...

I don't have Leopard but I've seen Leopard's Sys Prefs Print& fax and it's kinda sorta similar to Tiger's. So I'm going from memory here, okay? In Sys Prefs' Print&Fax, you should see a list of printers and fax modems on the left hand side. If you single-click on the Apple USB modem that should be on that list and authenticate, it should "ungray" a "Receive Options" button. Then click on it. A new window opens. Is the "receive faxes on this computer" checkbox checked?
Or are you still running Tiger on your MBP? Then in Sys Prefs' print&fax, faxing panel, is the "receive faxes on this computer" checkbox checked?

  • Can't receive or fax from computer anymore since I switched from

Verizon to Time Warner. Verizon was analog and in order to receive and send faxes I installed a 3 Com device between the phone jack and computer that would recognize a fax after two rings and automatically begin the fax reception.
Time Warner is digital and will not work with the 3 Com device, so we have to plug the phone line directly into the computer and because it is not stand alone will not receive or send faxes.
Saved $50 by transferring to TW but now can't fax--TW says they are working on it and 3 Com says they do not work with digital and nothing that does.
    Any one have a solution?

...because what is not stand-alone, what won't send or receive faxes? Your computer's built-in fax/data modem?
Be careful about plugging your computer's built-in analog fax/data modem into a digital phone line. I don't know any of the technical particulars, but a google search using the following two phrases, "fax/data modem" and "digital phone line" would suggest that attaching an analog phone fax/data modem to a digital phone line may destroy the modem. That could be why you can't send or receive on it.
Even if Apple's built-in analog fax/data modem is resilient enough to not be damaged by the different technical physical characteristics of the line and its signaling, it would stand to reason that the on/off hook switch, dial tone, and incoming ring signal indications are probably an entirely different signaling format for the digital phone line than for the analog line, so the analog modem likely wouldn't recognize the digital signals and indications.
If you have attached your analog modem to a digital line, you might want to cart your computer to a friend's house that has an analog phone line, to see whether your computer's built-in modem is toast or not.

My Laserjet Pro 400 will fax only the top on third of the fax page but I can receive full faxes. But the system works with my older HP Fax Printer. Thank you.

    Hi @
I suspect your question would be better answered in the HP Enterprise Business Community,  as the HP Laserjet Pro 400 Printer is a commercial model.
My technical expertise is with consumer products and software, I am sure the commercial folks would be happy to help if you re-post your question for them to answer. The HP Enterprise Business Community is an HP Forum designed for the Commercial and Enterprise customers to help one another. I am sure you will find some HP folks there to help too.
Click here to view the Printing and Digital Imaging.  When the page opens you will see the option to 'Log in' or 'Register Now' on the right. The commercial forums are separate from the consumer boards, thus you will need to register if you don't already have a commercial account.
You may find the HP LaserJet Pro 400 Printer support page helpful while you wait for somebody in the commercial Forum to respond to your inquiry.
    Best of luck.

    Dear All,
    Good day !!!
We have activated Batch management in our business, whcih was running without BATCH management Active before. Now we have activated the batch management ,Automatic in case of GR creation and by FIFO basis in case of goods movement and SD and PP modules also.
Now every transactions and data are working properly. But we need clarity on the master data upload and inventory upload.
Suppose if we need to carry out the for the same material Batch to be activated or whether we need to go for new material and batch management active , Pleaes clarify on the process and also how we could upload the existing inventory from the existing NON Batch material into BATCH material (Which is created wholly as a new materail with batch)
KIndly provide on the above 2 points which would be helpful for our business.
    Thanks and Regards,

    Hi
I think with the help of  FI create a dummy cost centre and issue the material to the cost centre ,
Look no Purchase requisitions or purchase orders are open on the material
activate batch management to material and using 202 movement get back the material .
as the process is very tedious use the help of badis for updating and cancellation if required
this may be only process for activating new batches for material

  • Fax and Voice use same DID - SIP/CUBE

Is there any good way to have inbound Fax and Voice calls use the same DID?
I know there used to be a Fax Onramp TCL script, but I thought that was for TDM circuits (T1-PRI).
In this scenario, the PSTN comes from a SIP provider to a CUBE router. The provider does support T.38.
Call flow is: Remote Fax machine -> PSTN -> SIP Provider -> CUBE ->SIP -> CUCM (or Fax server.)
Ideally, I would like to send Fax calls directly to a 3rd party Fax server without going through CallManager (using dial-peers).
I'm hoping there is some secret SDP message that says "This is a Fax call, route me to the Fax server".
    Thanks, Randy

    Hi Stephan,
there are several timeouts and timings on voice ports which you can try out to "speed up" your disconnect but from my experience fax machines have an internal timing they need to get ready again - for example it needs often ~30sec to make a second ingoing fax after receiving the first one. For outgoing faxes the machine has usually a buffer where it stores the pages till the line is ready again. So it depends on the type & brand of fax machine you use, doesn't it?
Notice that some timeouts don't work since you control them with UCM (eg. ringing timeout => should be no answer config on line configuration)
    show voice port 2/0:
Initial Time Out is set to 2 s
Interdigit Time Out is set to 10 s
Call Disconnect Time Out is set to 60 s
Supervisory Disconnect Time Out is set to 750 ms
Ringing Time Out is set to infinity
Wait Release Time Out is set to 30 s
Hookflash-in Timing is set to max=1000 ms, min=150 ms
Hookflash-out Timing is set to 400 ms
Furthermore I would suggest you to use actual 12.4(24)T release since i hade several problems with the 12.4(25c).
    Regards,
    Christoph

  • Fax and Adressbook

I'm using an USB modem for Fax and it worked pretty until today. Now there is a problem: When I enter the name of the adress in "Fax-Information" (in the printer-dialogue) nothing happens until I enter the Faxnumber. Under SnowLeopard this was not necessary, the number occured automatically when there was a faxnumber in the adressbook.
Is this a problem of "Lion" or my mistake ?

    Hi @WOLF_PACK ,
I see that you are having issues with the email address book and fax address book being restored. I would like to help you resolve this issue.
Which email address book do you mean, the Scan to Email or Eprint?
Here is another post on this issue that you may take a look at.
Re: Can not restore Email Address Book on HP LaserJet 200 colorMFP M276n.
If the printer was set back to factory settings or a reset had been done, there isn't a way that I know of for restoring the fax or scan to email addresses on the printer.
    Have a nice day!
