AutoVue fails to convert big file.

Using AutoVue integration in our platform I need to process a PDF file of 8.8MB (some CAD drawing exported to PDF) with it’s markups.
We cannot just compile markups as a layer into PDF. Because of markups being in some proprietary file format by oracle we found no documentation on.
So the workaround would be a “convert” option in AutoVue viewer.
What is usually working fine with all files I know about, has failed for that PDF file.
Logging set ti DEBUG, I found that:
WARN [] [com.cimmetry.jvueserver.document] An operation is taking too long to complete, possible stability issue.
  Please verify.

Any Ideas how to move on?
Is there some limitation in processed file size for AutoVue convert function?
PS:
    Set -Xms512Mb -Xmx512Mb options which resolved BMP and TIFF rendering (thay takes very long even on powerfull hardware). However PDF is rendered empty!
Any help appreciated!
Anton

    Please reply with more information - what your operating system is, do you have Office installed, and what exactly is happening. Is there an error message, does the application crash, and from where are you starting the conversion (using Word and PDFMaker, using Acrobat's Create button, or batch processing).

    Hi idavistro,
    You can try setting the XA Transaction Timeout for SOADataSource.
    1. Log in to the WebLogic Admin Console.
    2. Select in the left tree: Services-> Datasources-> SOADataSource->Transaction.
    2. Select Set XA Transaction Timeout.
    3. Set XA Transaction Timeout to 0.
    4. Restart the server and check if the error still appears.

    put it this way. if all PDF creator produces only standard PDF, then ghostscript is fine. But most PDF creator don't (except Adobe Acrobat). So a compatible pdf reader need handle non-standard PDFs. It's a long-term boring maintaining job which need much human resource.
    My impression is poppler's community is the most active one which means it has more volunteers to fix bugs.

  • Big Problem.......Converting PRC File to JAR

    I have tried lot of things by setting classpaths for converting PRC file to JAR file ,but...............in vain.
    Please help me to sort out the problem.
    Regards
    Sunny

    I have tried lot of things by setting classpaths for
    converting PRC file to JAR file ,but...............in
    vain.Do you really mean "converting PRC file to JAR file", or do you mean "converting JAR file to PRC file"? I suspect it's the latter. Make sure you are doing ALL these steps:
    1) (*change this to match your own directory structure*)
    set classpath=%classpath%;.;c:\J2ME_TOOLS\j2me_cldc\bin\api\classes;C:\J2ME_TOOLS\j2me_cldc\tools\palm\src
    2)(*change this to match your own directory structure*)
    set path=%path%;C:\J2ME_TOOLS\j2me_cldc\bin;C:\J2ME_TOOLS\j2me_cldc\tools\palm\src
    3) cd to the directory where your "*.java" files are
    4) compile:
    javac *.java
    dir...check to see if you have new "*.class" files
    5) Make a directory to hold the class that will be generated by the preverifier:
    md preverified_classes6) preverify the classes:
    preverify -d ./preverified_classes myClass1 myClass2 myClass3 ...etc
    7) cd to the new directory
    cd preverified_classes
    dir...should show another copy of each ".class" file - these are the preverified ones.
    8) From these preverified class files, create your jar file:
    jar -cf myJarFile.jar *.class
    9) Now create PRC from jar:
    java palm.database.MakePalmApp -v -JARtoPRC myJarFile.jar myMainClassName
    ...where
    "myJarFile.jar" is the name of your jar file, and
    "myMainClassName" is the name of the main class in the jar file
    10) look at the directory listing
    dirshould show myJarFile.prc
    10) Load myJarFile.prc onto your Palm device or emultor and reset. Then you sould be good to go.

  • Question about reading a very big file into a buffer.

    Hi, everyone!
    I want to randomly load several characters from
    GB2312 charset to form a string.
    I have two questions:
    1. Where can I find the charset table file? I have used
    google for hours to search but failed to find GB2312 charset
    file out.
    2. I think the charset table file is very big and I doubted
    whether I can loaded it into a String or StringBuffer? Anyone
    have some solutions? How to load a very big file and randomly
    select several characters from it?
    Have I made myself understood?
    Thanks in advance,
    George

    The following can give the correspondence between GB2312 encoded byte arrays and characters (in hexadecimal integer expression).
    import java.nio.charset.*;
    import java.io.*;
    public class GBs{
    static String convert() throws java.io.UnsupportedEncodingException{
    StringBuffer buffer = new StringBuffer();
    String l_separator = System.getProperty("line.separator");
    Charset chset = Charset.forName("EUC_CN");// GB2312 is an alias of this encoding
    CharsetEncoder encoder = chset.newEncoder();
    int[] indices = new int[Character.MAX_VALUE+1];
    for(int j=0;j<indices.length;j++){
           indices[j]=0;
    for(int j=0;j<=Character.MAX_VALUE;j++){
        if(encoder.canEncode((char)j)) indices[j]=1;
    byte[] encoded;
    String data;
    for(int j=0;j<indices.length;j++) {
         if(indices[j]==1) {
                encoded =(Character.toString((char)j)).getBytes("EUC_CN");
                          for(int q=0;q<encoded.length;q++){
                          buffer.append(Byte.toString(encoded[q]));
                          buffer.append(" ");
                buffer.append(": 0x");buffer.append(Integer.toHexString(j));
                buffer.append(l_separator);
        return buffer.toString();
    //the following is for testing
    /*public static void main(String[] args) throws java.lang.Exception{
       String str = GBs.convert();
       System.out.println(str);*/

    Please help me to solve this error.

    Hi,
    To convert files to PDF format, AutoVue uses a built-in proprietary PDF print driver called the AutoVue Document Converter. The above error may occur if this print driver is not properly installed. To install the AutoVue Document Converter print driver, execute the InstallPdfPrintDriver.exe program from your AutoVue installation directory. Before proceeding with the install make sure the "Print Spooler" service is started.
    Here are the necessary steps in order to enable the "Print Spooler":
    1. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools.
    2. Select Services.
    3. Select the "Print Spooler" service and make sure to start it.
    4. Try to install the AutoVue Document Converter print driver.
    Thanks,
    Daniel

    You have not indicated what version of AA9 or OS you have. The current version is 9.5.5. You can do updates from the Help menu usually. If that fails, download updates from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows and install them in order.
