Availability Check considering SLED

Hi All,
I want the system to consider the SLED of batches during my MRP.
Suppose i have Material X 1000 kg in Batch Y which will expire on 28-02-09.
I have requirements of 150,200,400 kgs in Jan 09 , Feb 09 & march 09 respectively.
While running MRP system will not consider the SLED and won't give any proposal as my total req is not exceeding the stock.
But i can't use the material after 28th feb 09.so i want system should condiser the SLED and should give the procurement proposal of 400 kgs..(req of march 09).
Can anybody thro some light on this...Is there any Exit available to acive this req..
Thanks in Advance..

Gobi

Hi Gobi,
I don't think this is possible in R3.I am not sure but may be in APO it is possible.
If you want to exclude those batches which are already expired or near to expire in near future then this can be possible.Refer below thread,
[Expired materials excluded from MRP|Expired materials excluded from MRP;
But for this QM should be active with 09 inspection type.

  • Sales order availability check considering the ROH stock/procurement time

    Hi Gurus,
Our client's Production process requires  the availability check at order level to consider the procurement time required for the Rawmaterial (BOM component of the FERT, whose sales order is taken) in cases when this RM is not available in the plant, and Availability check should not consider this procurement time when this RM is available in the plant.
ie in first case, it should consider the total time for in-house production as well as the time required to procure the rawmaterials, along with all other times that we use like Gr processing time, packing picking etc.
In second case it should not consider the RM procurement time, but only the inhouse production time and other times as applicable.
To my understanding, Availability check at order level will only check the time given in the MRP view of the FERT, and it does not check anything about RM stock or RM procurement time.
Can you please give me some suggestions to meet this requirement of the client (client is into Food Product Manufacturing).
Your quick response will be very helpful
    Thanks
    Jobi

    Jobi,
Our client is not following Assemble to order or even make to order. The typical production process followed is neither make to order nor make to stock.
Understood, although I am not sure why you are telling me what he has today; since your client has already told you his existing solution is unsatisfactory.  I have described a solution that seems to meet the short list of business requirements that you described in your first post.  I suggest you offer this solution to your client, unless he has already told you that ATO is not acceptable for some other reason not mentioned in your post.
As already mentioned by the other experts Saurabh and Kiran and Mariano,  the requested functionality in general is not supported for MTS in standard ECC.  As always, anything is possible through enhancement or 'workaround', as long as the client has enough time and money, and you have sufficient skills to implement.
If the client is willing to implement APO, which is the standard SAP advanced planning system, such a solution (multi-level availability checking with MTS) is possible as standard.  Within the Global Available To Promise Module of APO there are a couple of ways to get at this type of ATP solution.

  • Block Stock consider during MRP Run and Stock availibility check

    Dear All,
I am facing the stock availibility check , Sytem consider the Defective material which is Block in same storage location ,and system not generate the Planned order .
-Blocked Material stock 100, and requirement 100 then system not generate the planned. Client need the system generate planned order 100 , Because 100 material is defective.
I have configured the system scope of availibility , Block stock check remove , but problem is not solve.
    Thanks
    Rajesh Tiwari

    Dear ,
Can you please re-check your MRP plant parametrs in OPPQ wether   you have selected blocked stock( Available Stock tab )  option by chance ?
Please de-select the same  and re-run MRP.Generally MRP does not consider block stock  in net requirement calcualtion .One more thing  , MRP does material avilablity check as per OMJJ set up ( define availbality chek ) but does not consider the same while doing net requirement calcualtion to generate PR rather it goes down to MRP plant parametrs ( oppq or oppr )
    Hope this is clear

  • Materials in stock at u loc consider for Availability check but not for MRP

    Dear ALL,
Please solved the problem by settings in the customizing  we are able to set the materials  at stock U location (serviceable )should not be considered in Mat Availability  for PM orders
Settings we have made for all storage locations in U * By excluding storage location stock from MRP
If storage location stock is excluded from MRP at plant level, no receipts for this storage location will be created in the planning run.
so we are able to run the availability check perfectly
But now MM dept.is not accepting this as they want this stock to be considered for MRP
Has anybody done this scenrio successfully please reply the solution
    Regards
    Pratap

A way that I think of, is to set the ATP at SL level, so in PM order you check only in a specific location, not in all the plant.
Of course that you need to let all SLs to be relevant for MRP, otherwise this stock is not considered for planning.

    Hi Experts,
I am facing an issue in Make to Order scenario.
My sale order is of quantity 10.
when i save the sale order, i get confirmed quantity as Zero.
But in my controls setting of availability check i have selected consider all firmed planned order.
Now  i have a firmed planned order for this sale order.
but still system shows confirm quantity as Zero.
Let me know what is the correct procedure and whether planned orders are considered for availabilty check for MTO scenario or not.

Please find answers of your query:
    1.    First have you maintained any safety stock in mm01:
    No
    2. Tcode: Md04

  • Material availability check not consider the MMBE stock correctly

    Dear Experts,
    Thanks for your continuous support.
I have one clarification ,at the time of process order raised COR1 - Click Material availability check after that massage had come in all material check available , but system wise some of the Bill of materials having not stock in MMBE ? What is the reason for the issue, with out stock material also given the status ok in ATP.
At the time of confirmation i have put some loss qty , where is the way of display in loss qty after that confirmation.
I need the report for one month process order confirmation list with order qty, confirm qty, delivered qty, &Loss qty ? Loss qty details only i am seeing kindly give the guidance if any t.code for display loss qty against the process order.
    Thanks,
    N.Umapathy

    Hi N.Umapathy,
"Click Material availability check after that massage had come in all material check available , but system wise some of the Bill of materials having not stock in MMBE ? What is the reason for the issue, with out stock material also given the status ok in ATP."
There can be an available quantity even if there is no stock in MMBE for that material.
    A simple example:
Production order created with component X.
Component X has a required quantity of 100.
There is no stock in MMBE for material X.
However, there is a planned receipt of stock (maybe in the form of a purchase document for example) of 100.
In this case, it is possible that the availability check will confirm 100 is available even if it is not in MMBE.
Another contributor on here, Jürgen L has written a very good blog on this here:
Unrestricted use stock not equal to available stock
    Hope this helps.

  • Availibility check at Storage location level

    Dear all,
we have implemented inventory management ( not wm and lean wm ) , my business scenerio is when i am creating the STO the availibility check is carried out which is considering all the storage locations of supplying site
    e.g  SL01 - Unrestritrd Use
           SL02 - Damage
           SL03 - Resrved
My client requiremnt is when availibility check should carried out it should conside only one storage location i.e SL01 - Unrestricted use stock and should not considere Stock of other storage location except SL01.
What configuration need to be done

  • How to execute availability check against delivery date in purchase order

    Hi all
In MD04, I know that "available date = delivery date in purchase order + GR processing time" & "GR date = delivery date in purchase order". When I execute availability check in production order, I will get material's committed date = available date. But I hope to get material's committed date = GR date in purchase order.
For example. delivery date in purchase order is 2012/02/06 and GR processing time is 2 days. After ATP in production order, I will get committed date 2012/02/08. But I hope it show 2012/02/06. How to customize it.
(The GR processing time must be set 2 days for MRP calculation. it can be changed to 0.) Thanks!!

    Hi Rita,
One Doubt, If you say that material commited has to be the GR date and you do not wish to wait for GR processing time, then why do you have the GR processing time in first place.
For ex. My client, we get the stock as per GR in Quality inspection and so we have GR processing time considered for available time in MD04. But since the business considers the Inspection stock as avialble, The stock gets reflected in avialibility check the moment GR is done.
So please explain your requirement in detail. There could some way to do so. If not the raise an issue with SAP.

  • Availability check on storages in sales order and delivery documents

    Hi all,
I'm verifying if it's possible to find a standard or a custom solution for this type of problem:
I have a scenario in which there are more storages relevant for MRP (ex. 01, 02, 03, 04), and, in if I check availability in sales order or delivery (using checking rules "A" or "B") with setting which considering storages location inspection in availability check control, system check if there's stock available on all these storages.
I'm trying to verify if it's possible to consider only some on these storages (ex. 01 and 03 only) in sales order and delivery documents availablity check.
I know that in sales order storage location field is normally filled only using exit, but i don't know if it's possible to do, using a user exit, check availability considering only some storages and not all. At delivery level i have tried to use stock strategy, but this functionality don't have consequences on availability check, also if it's relevant during good issue phase.
    Any suggestion will be appreciated.
    Regards
    Gianpaolo

    Hi Gianpaolo,
We had some issues with availability check on a Customer Site.
I don't remember right now if we had to exclude storage locations from MRP to take them out from ATP, but I guess Shiva is 100% correct.
At the end, what was done was to always "force" a unique storage location in the sales order item, which will be the storage location used for shipping of the delivery of course.
If you use WM in your plant, then you will have no problem in having a unique storage location, so no problem.
Anyway you are correct in your analysis, if the Storage location is not informed in the sales order item, then all the plant stock is taken in account for ATP.

  • Dynamic Availability Check for Goods Issue,Transfer Posting

    Dear All,
Can anyone explain the Dynamic Availability Check??
I mean the relevance on setting this indicator for a mov.type?
In OMCM & OMCP I have defined a Checking Rule & also assigned the same to a Mov.type as well the transaction code?
whether the Dynamic Availability Check concept is same in case of sales ie Say I have a Stock of 100 qtys for a material in a plant & in the availability Scope of Check I have ticked the include safety stock.
In my material master I have a safety stock of 500 qtys.
So when I do a transfer posting for this material with Qty as 200, System should allow me do proceed as in my availability check I have enabled the safety stock option.
But this is not happening & I am getting an error message as deficit of stock 100 nos. Also what is use of setting the dynamic availability check indicator for my mov.type as A - Warning message , B - Error Message etc..
    Kindly suggest valuable inputs.
    Thanks & Regards,

For e.g. there is Available Stock = 1000 qty and safety stock in material master = 500 qty then system will allow you to use 1000 qty only not 1500 qty
This is only used for availability check purpose whether system it should be considered or not?
    And following indicators means;
A  W mess. only issued in the case of non-availability
B  E mess. only issued in the case of non-availability
E  Message in any case: W mess. for non-avail., otherw. S mess.
F  Message in any case: E mess. for non-avail., otherw. S mess.
S  Availability check only with simulation
The above indicators indicate whether the system is to check for existing material requirements.
Award appropriately once the thread is answered.

  • Delivery from projects not included in dynamic availability check

    Problem:
In our client, we use deliveries for project (delivery type LP, delivery item type DLP) triggered from network reservations.
During delivery creation, we are finding that the existing deliveries are not being considered/cumulated into the ATP calculation. For example, for a given a material with an on hand balance of 22 units, individual deliveries for 4 units are created every day. The individual delivery passes the availability check test as it is always backed by the 22 units of stock.  However, as a whole now the individual deliveries are totaling 80 units, exceeding the quantity on hand.
Is there any way to fine tune the availability check through customizing such that these  deliveries for project created are included in CO09 and the delivery for project creation?
Or this should be an enhancement?. Client is in SAP R/3 version 4.7
    Thanks,
    Marco

  • Material Availability check during work order creation and Release

    Hello All,
We are checking material availability at creation as well as release
Say we have Material XYZ=100 in stock MMBE
Now XYZ =100 is say at normal storage location =75
and scrap storage location=05 and serviceable =20
Currently when availability check is performed it checks for 95 (It excludes scrap storage location 05 )
but we want  Availability check to be only for normal stock =75 and not for Serviceable and Scrap location
how to do this in configuration or via exits
Since if the material is under Scrap location it is not counting in Availability check at work order creation this logic is working fine but I do know from where this control is put that when the material is in the stock of scrap it is not counting in Availability check for work orders.Same thing I want to extend it to Serviceable stock .
Why not it is consider it for Scrap storage location , what is config or any MM enhancement
So that when Availability check run it will not consider Materials at SCRAP as well as SERVISABLE storage location also.
Please have your views on this
    Regards
    pratap

    Hello
There are two option for your requiement
    1. Changing the status of the servisable storage location stock to restricted use stock . You can include or exclude this stock status material in OPJJ. This solution is not storage location dependent. It is stock status dependent.
    2. Please refer the enhancement for the storage location determination. I am not sure about this funtionality:
For production orders the following enhancement is available:
PPCO0005 enhancement for storage loc. determination/backflushing
You can use this enhancement to change the storage location and the indicator 'backflushing' in the reservation.
The enhancement PPCO0005 contains the following enhancement components:
    Function exit
    EXIT_SAPLCOSD_001 storage location determination/backflushing
You can find the description in modification text of the function exit.
You can find an example of the user exit in the function group XC01 in the include LXCO1F05.

  • Stock confiramtion at sales order level for future date- Availability Check

    Hi all
    Here is the scenario
This setting is available in the system:
    Stock is available
Sales order created with Requested delivery date in future-> not confirmed
Sales order created with Requested del date today -> confirmed
    The requirement :
how and where to change this setting in IMG so that also orders with Requested Delivery Date in future are confirmed if stock is available.
As this is urgent request to respond quickly.
    Regards
    Devender

    Hello Devender,
You can achieve the mentioned scenario by configuring ATP. You can do ATP with RLT or ATP without RLT.
In ATP with RLT, system will check and confirm the quantities from existing stock only and if quantities are insufficient then the system will consider inline POs or manufacturing time to confirm remaining quantitites.
Else you will be getting schedule lines for only items in stock and remaining will be unconfirmed as ATP without RLT will be activated i.e., system will check and confirm the quantities from existing stock only.
Types of Availability Check in Sales and Distribution
    Processing
There are three types of availability check:
_ Check on the basis of the ATP quantities
    _ Check against product allocation
    _ Check against planning
The following SD-specific control features need to be maintained in Customizing:
    _ Checking group
The checking group controls whether the system is to create individual or collective
requirements in sales and shipping processing. In addition, a material block for the
availability check with transfer of requirements can be set here. The checking group can
also be used to deactivate the availability check. This option was created especially for
the assembly order so that when the bill of material is exploded in the assembly order,
the individual components, if necessary, can be classified as non-critical parts as far as
    procurement is concerned.
The checking group specifies in combination with the checking rule the scope of the
availability check. It is proposed in the material master record on the basis of the material
type and the plant, and copied into the sales and distribution documents.
    _ Checking Rule
You use the checking rule to control the scope of the availability check for each
transaction in sales and distribution. You also specify whether the check should be
carried out including or excluding replenishment lead time. The individual checking rules
define by transaction, which stock and inward and outward movement of goods should
be taken into account for the availability check.
    _ Schedule line category
You can control with the schedule line category whether an availability check and
transfer of requirements should be carried out in the sales documents. The possible
settings for this at schedule line level are dependent on the settings in the requirements
class which is determined from the requirements type of the material.
    _ Delivery item category
The delivery item category can be used to control whether an availability check takes
    place in deliveries.
    Requirements type
The various requirements are identified by their requirements type. The requirements
type refers to the requirements class and its control features.
    _ Requirements Class
The requirements class contains all control features for planning such as relevance for
planning, requirements planning strategy and requirements consumption strategy. In
addition, it is specified at a global level whether an availability check is to take place for
the material in the sales and distribution documents on the basis of the ATP quantity
(ATP = available to promise) and whether requirements are to be passed on. A finer
degree of control can be obtained for sales documents using the schedule line category.
Replenishment lead time is only included in the check performed on the basis of the
    ATP quantity.
    Prerequisites
An availability check can only be carried out if the following prerequisites have been fulfilled:
_ The control elements described above for the availability check must be maintained in
Customizing for Sales and the relevant assignments made to the sales transactions
_ The availability check must be switched on at requirements class level and - for the
availability check in the sales documents - at schedule line category level
A requirements type must exist by which the requirements class can be found
_ A plant must be defined. It can either be proposed from the customer or material master
record or can be entered manually in the document.
_ A checking group must be defined in the material master record on the Sales/plant data
screen in the Availability check field
Configuring entries of the Availability Check
IMGSDBasic fncsAvailability check and TORAvailability checkAvailability check with ATP logic or against planningDefine checking groups
You can use SAP std checking groups of 01 for summarized reqts or 02 for daily reqts or u can create ur own.
The columns total sales and total deliveries are selection options whereby u can configure a checking rule to sum up reqts to post to MRP either individually or by day or week.
Column 5, Block qty; set this block if u want several users to be able to process the material simultaneously in different transactions without blocking each other. The No Check indicator is used when u want a material to not be relevant for an ATP check.
Defining a material block for other users. The Block checkbox is an indicator that enables u to block the particular material from being checked for availability if it is already being checked at the same time by another user.
Defining the default value for checking groups. However should no entry exist for the checking group in the material master record, one can set a default value per material type and plant.
Controlling the availability check. In this section, u tell the system what stock on hand and what inward and outward movements of stock it must take into account when performing the availability check. These settings are based on the checking group that is assigned to the material master record and the checking rule that is predefined and assigned to the sd transaction. The carry out control for the availability check must be maintained for both the sales order and delivery.
    Reward points if helpful.

    Priyanka

    Dear All ,
During the availibility check I want to consider  the customer consingment  .
E.G   if the plant level stock is 300 and customer consingement  stock is 30  then the ATP quantity should be 330 wen i am performing the Availibility check ...
Pls help me in this regard

    Satish

    hi,
you cannot take into consideration the stock available at consignee for availability check. the consignment stock is treated as special stock unlike unrestricted.
For transactions such as make-to-order production, consignment or returnable packaging processing that create special stock, the availability check is performed against special stock.
The following elements can be included in the availability check:
    Stock
    safety stock
    stock in transfer
    quality inspection
    blocked stock
