AVL CLP government customer with Acrobat Pro license questions

I need assistance understanding the AVL CLP licensing for Government Office. For Acrobat it is my understanding that it is a per device license model. Of course, we can install on a portable device. My customer indicated if they own 20 licenses under this agreement, they can install in as many PCs as they want as long as there aren't 20 concurrent users of Acrobat at the same time. If they exceed then it locks ups. How accurate is this and what's the rule of thumb for Acrobat licensing under the AVL CLP. Thanks

Hi etabeyta,
The term "Concurrent Use License" means a license to use the applicable Adobe software product ("Software") based on the number of users who can use the Software at any one time when the Software is either installed on a Computer file server and initiated by an individual from another Computer on the same Internal Network as the Computer file server or (ii) on an individual’s Computer but only made available for use when such individual’s Computer is granted permission by a Computer file server over an Internal Network. Concurrent Use Licenses may be subject to higher prices than standard Software licenses available under CLP. The total number of users who can use the Software at any one time may not exceed the total number of Concurrent Use Licenses granted to you for such Software. Notwithstanding anything contrary to the EULA, the term "Internal Network" as used in the EULA shall be expanded to include permission for access by your then-currently enrolled students solely for the purposes of your Concurrent Use License(s). Except as otherwise set forth hereunder, all other terms of the EULA shall govern your use of the Software licensed under a Concurrent Use License.

  • Using the SDK in a C# program with Acrobat Standard (License question)

    Hi,
we have purchased Adobe Acrobat Standard and installed it on a Computer to edit pdf documents.
Basically, we delete some pages at the end of document as they contain superfluos information.
As there is a naming convention in these files that tells us how many pages have to be deleted, we want to use the Acrobat SDK to delete the pages automatically.
Is that ok or would we need to purchase a special license for the Acrobat SDK?
    Cheers,
    Helmut

As long as the computer is only performing the task for a single individual (since you only have a single copy) - that’s fine.  It cannot, however, perform this operation for multiple people.

Why don't you call support again and ask if you can have a copy of the discs with your serial number? I don't know if there is a small fee but I prefer to have discs than a download. Then you can try reinstalling.

  • I can't activate Acrobat Pro license

    Hello
after the inconveniences and the impossibility to connect and sync my documents with Creative Cloud Connection, now it is the turn of Acrobat Pro to giving me trouble.
I can't activate Acrobat Pro license, so I can't use it.
After launching Acrobat Pro, a blank page that should contain the license agreement appears, but the button for accepting the license doesn't work. I have deinstalled and reinstalled several times the application without success.
Thank you to explain me how to resolve this problem.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro license problem

I had an Adobe Acrobat Pro license and now the program is asking for my serial and does not recognize it. I have entered in trial mode and I can get assistance directly from Adobe and cannot access the chat. What should I do?

Jmmussat, no, it is NOT a browser problem, I have tried several now.
I suspect it could be very bad luck and not a purposeful block so customers like me, with old licenses, will be forced to purchase.

  • Outlook Quick Print no longer works with Acrobat Pro v11

    Hi All,
Prior to installing Acrobat Pro v11 on a Remote Desktop Server (Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard) we were able to use the Quick Print function for attachments within Outlook (Microsoft Office 2010 32-bit), although the default printer was physical printer the application would always open with Acrobat Pro even after disabling it as a default application. Upon uninstalling Acrobat Pro v11 the issue no longer occurs and the quick print fuction has been restored to normal.
If there is a known technical solution it would be greatly appreciated.
    Best regards,

rgrosz789, thank you for your suggestion.
Your code worked but caused run time error at the following line as below.
    Sub Test()
        'Dim app As CAcroApp
        Dim app As Object
        Set app = CreateObject("AcroExch.App")
        app.Show 'Raises run time error
    End Sub
I finally uninstalled Acrobat Pro 9, reinstalled it, then, my original program worked fine.
Something must have gone wrong in Acrobat 9 :-)

  • Problem printing PDF with Acrobat Pro 9.4.4

    Hi!
I can't correctly print a PDF with Acrobat Pro that was created in Indesign CS5.
I want to print it on a letter format (8,5 X 11") and it offers me a format of 8,49 X 10,99". It results in having my document being printed as tile with it's original format 12 X 21,5" as if I didn't adjust the format to be reduced.
I temporary used Preview to print my PDF, but now I can't as the encoding in which I received the PDF used to be "Creo Normalizer JTP" and now it is "Adobe PDF Library 9.9"
    If anyone can help!
This is my first time here, thanks in advance for your help

Here's what it looks like (I work in french, hope you can understand)
I just updated my software, thanks for that!
Now, my problem is still on... I still have the very same result when I print. I did selected the correct Page Scalling I needed. I did selected the paper size I wanted. I chose Shrink to Printable Area and I tried with Fit to Printable Area.
Since I've had this problem the size appears as : 8,49 X 10,99 (Instead of 8,5 X 11). I tried with Legal (8,5 X 14) but it appears as 8,49 X 13,99. I went through the preferences, but I can't find anything that could be the problem.
    Any other idea?
    Thanks!!
Also, Preview was very helpful, as it did print my PDF correctly! I understand it's not the best... but it did the job

    Hi Gary,
I have seen this issue occur with users who have this registry setting missing or have improper permissions.
When you double click the attachment to launch the pdf it is saved and opened from the temporary folder unless saved specifically to a location.
If you dont have the below mentioned registry key or improper permissions then attachments fail to open.
Please  heck if the following reg key exists:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Security
    or
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Security
    Value Name: OutlookSecureTempFolder
If the value exists, and if the value contains a valid path, Outlook 2010 uses that location for its temporary files.
If the registry value does not exist, or if the value points to an invalid location, Outlook 2010, Outlook 2007, or Outlook 2003 creates a new subdirectory under the Temporary Internet Files directory and then puts the temporary file in the new subdirectory. The name of the new subdirectory is unknown and is randomly generated, depending on your version of Outlook.
    Please check the following key:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Security
Note the location for: OutlookSecureTempFolder key
Check if the same folder exists in the following location and if not create a corresponding folder in the location on C:\Users\<User account name>\Appdata\Local\Software\Microsoft\Windows\......

  • I can't use thunderbird 31.2.0 to send attachement from a pdf file with Acrobat PRO XI

I can't use thunderbird 31.2.0 (Mozilla) to send attachement from a pdf file with Acrobat PRO XI. Each time, Acrobat replies (in french) : "il n'y a pas de client pour la messagerie par défaut". Thunderbird is indicated as "by default" in the list of programs of Windows.
Even if I type my e-mail address, etc. in the account of Acrobat, it doesn't change. Each time, I have to record a PDF file in a folder and return to Thunderbird to send it as attached. It is a too long process,  compared with Windows XP with Acrobat Reader or Acrobat 5, I had before.
Would you please help me to explain the process. My OS is Windows 8.1.
    Thank you

    Thank you for your answer.
What i want to do : to send PDF files as attached documents in a message
generated by thunderbird by my e-mail address [email protected] or
    another one I have.
When I introduce my e-mail address under Edit-Preferences-Email
Accounts, Acrobat ask the e-mail account, the password, the IMAP for
ingoing message (and I use POP) and SMTP for outgoing messages. Even I
introduce all the datas, it doesn't change, Acrobat is unable to send
the message. And the process is not convenient, because I need all my
outgoing messages be documented inside Thunderbird.
So, I repeat my request : how can I use thenderbird as program by
default from Acrobat or any other software ?
Thank you for your next message.

  • Enterprise mitigation for APSA08-01 with Acrobat Pro 7.0.9

    Hello,
My organization has 30,000+ users with Acrobat Pro 7.0.9, and we are currently in the process of purchasing the upgrade to 8. The problem is that this vulnerability presents an unacceptable risk until that purchase has been made.
Is there an ETA on the release of the patch for 7.0.9?
Is there any way of mitigating these vulnerabilities through the registry? Telling 30,000 people to disable Javascript and Open in Browser is not an option.
    Thanks in advance,
    Mike

Thanks Bill.  Yes, I did let AA7 update after installing.  They first noticed the problem yesterday, but it was the first time they had tried to combine any files since the Reader 9.3 update.  I can only assume the problem is related.  I'll try another update and see if it does anything.
    I appreciate the reply.

  • Dynamic stamps with Acrobat Pro X

    Help needed!
How to create own dynamic stamps with Acrobat Pro X, without any knowledge of programming.
It was very easy with the program used before (Nuance); unfortunally it's not possible to export from Nuance to Acrobat.
    Thanks in advance
    vtosi

It can't be done without using a script, and not a very simple one, either.
There are detailed tutorials about how to do it, for example here:

If you're interested in someone to create the stamp (and all the required
scripts) for you, feel free to contact me by PM or at [email protected] .

When I left my former employer, Pollinate Agency, I bought a MacBook Pro with Acrobat Pro (version 9 or possibly 9.5) installed from the company. I recently had a serious computer crash, and needed to get all contents erased. The support provider didn't have my product key, so could not reinstall Acrobat Pro for me. Since then, I have gotten the product key sent to me from my former employer, [ REMOVED ] So I need help in re-downloading, installing and activating the Acrobat Pro software on this computer.

Please remove the S/N immediately (I can't or would). Never post them online. As for download you can go to http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html on the right panel to get 9 pro. I am not sure there is a MAC version there, but that is the first place to go. If it is the proper version, then please back it up to CD and/or portable HD, not the system HD.

  • How can I convert a PDF/A file into a PDF file with Acrobat Pro X?

How can I convert a PDF/A file into a PDF file with Acrobat Pro X? I'd like to modifiy the file which I have only as a PDF/A.

There's two answers if you want to modify the file:
You can temporarily turn off PDF/A Mode in your preferences, so they don't open as read-only. The problem would be if you do something to the file that violated the PDF/A standard, so you should always run a Preflight check afterwards to make sure.
If you want to remove the PDF/A header tag, use Preflight again - it's on the Print Production Panel in Acrobat X Pro (which may be hidden, use the options menu on the Tools Pane to show it). There's a profile called "Remove PDF/A information" - choose this and press Analyze and Fix. Nothing else about the file will be altered but when you save and reopen it all the editing tools will become active.
