AW01N is blank on Asset transfer date

Hi All,
We have uploaded asset legacy transfer via LSMW as of 31.12.2009.
Below are the steps:
1. Asset Transfer Date: 31.12.2009
2. Company not in productive status
3. OAYC - Last Depre Run: Blank because asset transfer date is at end of year
Symptom:
1. Asset takeover value is displayed on 31.01.2010 but IS BLANK on 31.12.2009 (under AW01N)
2. Asset Balance also BLANK on 31.12.2009, only shows value on 31.01.2010
Question:
Why can't AW01N or Asset Balance show asset value as at 31.12.2009? Is this normal symptom? If not normal, is there any setting that we missed out or need to change?
Thanks,
CW

Hi,
Asset value date will reflect in AW01N only for the asset APC related transactions happening after go-live.  Legacy assets will not have asset value date in asset explorer, unless there is a transfer or post cap transactions happened after take over date.

  • Asset transfer date

    Hi,
    Thanks for ur response, till now we were not run the depreciation from the golive date, now they were reconciling the depreciation in AW01N with manually for the last fiscal year 2007 to run the depreciation. In the asset transfer date(IMG) it is showing 31.03.2005. I think somebody changed the take over date in asset transfer date. In Asset explorer (AW01N) it is showing difference value in Ordinary depreciation while comparing with manual depreciation and also in AS92 it is not showing the take over values getting green colour message as "Asset was not created as old asset data record - (Check your entry)" I had checked in development server. if I changed the Asset Transfer date it is asking the recalcuate the depreciation. My doubt this is correct solution, if it is correct shall I do this directly in Production. Kindly helpme in this issue.

    Hi,
    This defending upon your fiscal year varient.  Is it Jan - Dec or Apr-Mar.
    If Jan to Dec, change your asset transfer date to 29.02.2008 and upload it in any of the day in march or later.  In this case, you have to upload all the assets purchased during last year with acc. depreciation and current yr procurement, you have two option, upload with 2 month dep or upload without dep and run the dep on 3rd month for period 3, it will post all 3 months dep at once.
    If Apr-Mar,  keep the data as such, upload the data on 1st Apr.  All previous year procurement should be uploaded with acc. dep.
    Hope it helps

  • Can we change asset transfer date after going productive since five years

    Hi,
    I got a requirement where there is an asset since 1993 in legacy system, which now should be moved in to SAP.
    But problem is we went live in 2003, I had set asset transfer date to 31-12-2003. Now I need to take over asset acquisition value & accumulated deprecation into SAP as on 2008 date.
    It means I need to change asset take over date to 31.12.2008 from 31-12-2008. So can any one tell whether I can go ahead and change the asset transfer date, if I could change what would be effect on the existing assets?
    Best Regards,
    Giridhar

    There is no impact on your existing asset when you change the take over date only a message when you run reports on old fiscal years. The old fiscal year should be closed and you can no longer be reopend (it is no longer there, take over is later) You can test this first in you test system
    But it is better to use the other option no customizing and manual posting with OASV for the asset values. 2 minutes work and the asset is in
    Even for conversions I go now for this option (own transaction key Y47) and no longer using AS91!.
    When values are wrong you can reverse the posting and post again.

  • Asset Transfer with Asset depreciation Strat date

    Dear All,
    I have a scenario where the asset depreciation needsto be calculated based on the asset transfer date,
    For example if the asset accquired on 01.03.2011 and it is puts into used on 16.04.2011, tehn depreciation should be  calculated from 16.04.2011.
    To achive the smae while creating the asset master i have created depreciation start date in future date. When ever I wil ldo the asset trasnfer throguh ZProgram it  will update the depreciaiton started with asset transfer date.
    My problem is that if the same Asset get transfered from one location to other location that should be depreciated with the specified cost center from asset transfer date.
    When Ever I do further transfer the system is considering the depreciation from transfer date only its ignoring  the previous date which are not posted  depreciation.
    Please let me know is it the depreciation calculation will have with multiple transfer dates.
    Regards,
    Rama Mohan

    Dear Mohan,
    Generally the following points are relevant.
    1. Specify Transfer of Fields
    CU: FI-AA:
    -> Transactions
      -> Intercompany Asset Transfers
       -> Automatic Intercompany Asset Transfers
        -> Define Transfer Variants
         -> Specify Transfer of Fields (for New Asset in Target CoCd)
          -> 03#Ord.dep.start date
    If you mark "03#Ord.dep.start date ", the system is calculating
    depreciation from the year  of capitalization.
    2. Transaction type: Indicator: Transfer adopting dep. start date
    Indicator: Transfer adopting dep. start date
    Set this indicator, if you want to adopt the historical depreciation
    start date and capitalization date from the retiring asset when you
    perform intercompany asset transfers or intracompany transfers.
    3. Also, could you please verify these setting in you system according
    to note 327088
    4. Period control of the depreciation key.

  • Not able to post in the past by trx ABSO 'cause of  transfer date

    Hi,
    First: I researched about ABSO, E AA698, T_ANLB, T_ANLC, and u201Cacquisitionu201D u2013 No answer find.
    I need to post by trx ABSO an acquisition value in a depreciation area that does not post into G/L. For that I created an special trx type, and it works OK if I post it on 31.12.2009 trough 31.12.2011. But when I tried to post in the past (2006), the system tells me the year is closed. If I change the transfer date to the past (2005) the system gives me the error AA698, "SYST: Abnormal termination (T_ANLB not equal to T_ANLC)"
    By what I read in other questions and sap notes, I checked:
    u2022 ANLB-LGJAN=2011
    u2022 ANLC-GJAHR=2011
    u2022 T093C- LGJAHR=2011
    u2022 T093C- DATUM= 31.12.2005
    I also run programs with no error found:
    u2022 RACORR96
    u2022 RACORR95
    Complete scenario is:
    A new area was created only for Management issues, and it's needed that this area shows an acquisition value, in the past. For that I do the following steps:
    1. The asset has a u201CCapitalization dateu201D (31.08.2006), OK, it is before the acquisition date Iu2019m using in ABSO (31.12.2006) u2013 I also tried with 31.12.2007 and it didnu2019t work. It does works if I use 31.12.2010
    2. The transfer date is before the posting date in ABSO u2013 OK, I set 31.12.2005
    I also notice two things:
    u2022 That in the explorer (AW01N) if I have the transfer date in the past (31.12.2005) the system also gives me the same error message AA698.
    u2022 That I can post by ABSO if I use date 31.12.2009, or bigger.
    Finally, the only thing that I notice is that in 2006 and 2007, in ANLC, the asset has not the same number of areas that it has in ANLB, but I guess it has nothing to do, because for 2008 the ANLC has the same number of areas and I canu2019t post either.
    Please, do not block this question for answers. I checked the forum previous questions and answers and I didnu2019t find any regarding u201CPosting in the pastu201D and error AA698.
    If you think this issue was already answered in the past, guide me a little bit more so I can solve the issue and, I will thank you very much!
    Any help that you can give me I will appreciate it very much!
    Thanks in advance!!

    In note 900767 you find the report RACORR_VIEW0_SET to correct this.

  • Change in Specify Transfer Date/Last Closed Fiscal Year in Asset Accounting

    Hi,
    While uploading the asset master data and values,I have given the Specify Transfer Date/Last Closed Fiscal Year date as 31-12-2008.But as per the fiscal year 4-4-5,2008 closed on 03-01-2009.
    what are the consequences,If we change the Specify Transfer Date/Last Closed Fiscal Year date from 31-12-2008 to 03-01-2009 as the 2008 closed on 03-01-2009.
    Kindly give me some inputs regarding this change.
    Thanks
    Supriya

    Hi
    Please note
    I you change the transfer date to current FY date , system will not allow u to upload data in PY.
    See the below
    Transfer Date
    This date determines the status of posting to be used for the
    transfer (posting up to this date will be included in the transfer), not
    the actual date the data transfer is carried out. This specification
    also determines whether you want to perform the transfer during the
    fiscal year (with transfer of posted transactions/depreciation in the
    current fiscal year) or at the end of the fiscal year (without
    transactions).
    If the transfer date is not the last day of the fiscal year (according
    to the fiscal year variant in FI), the system interprets this as
    transfer during the fiscal year. The system cannot transfer any
    historical transactions. It can only transfer cumulative values from the
    end of the last fiscal year, and the transactions in the current fiscal
    year (the second is only possible for transfer during the fiscal year).
    Example
    transfer date = December 31, 1997
    => last closed fiscal year = 1997
    Specify Last Period Posted in Prv.System (Transf.During FY)
        You must specify the period up to which depreciation was posted in the previous
        system. This period refers to the posted depreciation that is to be
        transferred during old assets data takeover.
    Thanks

  • Asset Legacy data transfer reconciliation with GL

    We have recently merged a deactivated company code with our operating company and transferred all Finance processes, open items,master data etc.
    We transferred assets using Legacy Data Transfer AB91 (we did not use intercompany asset transfer ABT1N).
    We then transferred the Trial Balance.
    The asset balances reconcile against the GL accounts for the transferred assets when executing S_ALR_87011964 and FS10N.
    However there is a difference in ABST2 which is the same difference as the migrated assets.
    I would expect there to be no difference between FI and AA for legacy data transfer
    I have also run ABST for all affected GL accounts and there is no difference when executing this report.
    Note that the company code migration occurred in January 2008, there is no effect on 2007 year end data.

    Hi
    You have to take over the GL  balance using OASV t.code

  • Asset Transfer ABUMN - Depreciation Start Date

    We have a problem with when Depreciation begins for an Asset as below:

    Asset B Asset Value Date = 17.08.2011

    Hi Bernhard
    We have a bespoke Period Control / Period Control Method. For Transfers as below:
    FV     Per.contr.     Year     Mo     Dy     Per     MidMon
    Z1     Z0          01     00     009
    Z1     Z0          02     00     010
    Z1     Z0          03     00     011
    Z1     Z0          04     00     012
    Z1     Z0          05     00     001
    Z1     Z0          06     00     002
    Z1     Z0          07     00     003
    Z1     Z0          08     00     004

    In the problem scenario, for Asset A, there hashas been an Asset impairment in P3 FY2011 and this reversed in P5 FY2012. I have a feeling this may be the root of the problem, but as yet I haven't been able to confirm........

  • Incorrect posting in asset accounting after legacy asset transfer

    I have an issue in Asset accounting.
    The depreciation key used is LINA (with a base method 0009 and Dec. bal. method – 001 straight line depreciation)
    My question is:
    An asset was acquired 02/01/2005. It has an expected useful life of 1/11.
    Under AS93.
    I see the asset  ***. acquisition value 205,695.00
    Accu.ord. deprec  - 78,784.06
    The asset was transferred to SAP  at 03/31/2007.
    Now In aw01n  I see the following:
    Legacy data transfer Per – 3 Ord. deprec – 10,143.87
    Posted Per – 4 – 13,364.13
    Posted 5 – 5877.00
    Posted 6. 5877
    Till 8th month posted 5877.
    The posted values are wrong. Since it was transferred to SAP it has a useful life
    of 1 year. At this rate it will go for 3 years.
    What can I do to rectify this error?
    Why is it posting 5877?
    Thanks,

    Hi Roma,
                 The useful life has to be the Total Useful life of the asset.
    Since your useful life is less than the expired usefull life the system is calculating depr. for after the end of useful life, which for base method 0009 is curbing.
    <i>Curb
    With depreciation beyond the planned useful life, the depreciation percentage rate can be derived, not only from the planned useful life, but also from the actual useful life. This method produces a declining-balance effect instead of a straight-line effect (curb).
    Use Base Method 0007, this does not curb.
    Kind regards
    An asset that originally had a useful life of 10 years is depreciated in year 11 by 1/11 = 9.09 %, in year 12 by 8.33 % and in year n with 100/n %.
    When you use below-zero depreciation with a curb, the system determines the percentage rate, after the end of planned life, to the exact period and not to the year.</i>

  • Intercompany Assets Transfer

    Hi,
    Am using Tcode ABT1N for intercompany assets transfer. I was unable to transfer assets from one company code to another company code. I have entered all the details and if i click simulate, i got the error as asset is incomplete in the target company.
    If i click on the master data button in the screen adn fill the capitalization date and depreciation area, then it is getting transferred.
    The enduser don't know to do this.
    Can any one please solve this and let me know how to proceed at the earliest.
    Thanks in Advance
    Deepthi.

    Hi  Deepthi,
    Only if you press "enter" the coding block where error AAPO184 appears in  the pop-up window for Master Data can be passed. Then you can go to the 'Master Data' push button  and correct the data. To check the asset you can also use RAUNVA00 or AW01N.
    If you user have problems you can make a validation where the user get a information which is more  meaningful exactly  to this special situation.  A generic message does not fit every situation and the system should not be overloaded with messages. Thats the problem.
    Generally if you get the message  explicit required entries are missing. This concerns master data.   If you have defined required entries in asset master data you must fill this fields.
    When you have made no entries in required fields you get this message. This is correct but if you made no entries in required fields and then you   press the bottom "Simulation" the system lost the bottom "master data".   Then you can´t correct the asset master data via the bottom "master  data".  True, the 'Master Data' push button  disappears. But nevertheless, you will not be able to save the  transaction, as again the system reminds you of the incomplete asset (required field in asset master data has not been filled yet) by issuing error AAPO184 again!
    1) Can you please check your settings - is it correct that the field is required.?
    Go to IMG (Transaction SPRO):
    -> Financial Accounting
    -> Asset Accounting
      -> Transactions
       -> Intercompany Asset Transfers
        -> Automatic Intercompany Asset Transfers
         -> Define Transfer Variants
          -> Specify Transfer of Fields
           -> Specify Transfer of Fields (for New Asset in Target CoCd)
            -> Transfer variant 4
             -> Double click on 'Logical field group master data' folder
              -> Select 'Log.fld.gr' 1 (General data)
               -> Double click on 'Field transfer of field groups folder'
    Here you might find that a field groups are marked to be copied to the  new asset.  If you don't want that the field is required, you should change the field transfer rules.
    2.  If the field is required, you also have to activate in the screen layout the relevant field.
    Asset Accounting
    -> Master Data
       -> Screen Layout
         -> Define Screen Layout for Asset Master Data

  • Depreciation Problem after asset transfer

    Hi All,
    During our month end, our user did the asset transfer within the same company code. When he runs the Depreciation through AFAB, the new asset is not showing any depreciation for current month, where as Old asset has some balance. I checked the new asset and in the Depreciation area, the Dep. start date is showing as 05/02/08. We changed the date to 03/02/2008 through AS02, but still it is not showing up any depreciation. I do have following questions.
    1. Can we transfer asset before depreciation run or run the depreciation first and then do the transfer. In our case we already transfered, so how do we fix it.
    2. I wonder how it is getting the Odep. start date as 05/04/08. Is it defined some where in Depreciation key/
    3. Can we run depreciation excluding that new asset. If so, how it can be done
    Please let me know if anyone has come across this, and how to solve this.
    This is an urgent.
    Thanks
    Kris

    Hi Muriel,
    I am very sure you did not do it correctly. Now, this is the step to follow:
    1. First adjust the APC value to what it should be using transaction code <b>ABSO</b>. Once you're sure that your Acquisition Value is correct, the next thing to do is
    2. To execute transaction <b>AFAB</b>(Depreciation Run) in "<b>Test Mode</b>". This would give you the depreciation that would be posted by the system asset by asset. This are under three main headings namely: "<b>Planned</b>", "<b>Posted</b>" & "<b>To Post</b>".
    Depending on your depreciation method, the "<b>Planned</b>" figure gives the total amount the system would post for the financial year whilst the "<b>Posted</b>" figure gives you what has been posted up to date and the "<b>To Post</b>" figure gives you what would be charged to the P&L when you run <b>AFAB</b> in Production mode.
    Your Net Book Value(NBV) at the end of the depreciation run for say November 2006 would be <b>NBV</b> = <b>APC</b> - (<b>Posted + To Post</b>)
    If Posted + To Post (i.e. Accummulated Depreciation) is more or less than what you expect it to be from you manual calculation, you then need to adjust the figure upward or downward depending on the situation at hand. That is when you now need to
    3. Perform Manual Depreciation Adjustment using either transaction code <b>ABAA</b> or <b>ABMA</b>.
    You can then use <b>AW01N</b> to view the asset. You would be able to see the different postings made. Do not forget to run <b>AFAB</b> in production mode. If not, no depreciation value would be posted and your report would still be wrong.
    I hope the above helps.
    Do not forget to award the points please.
    Regards,
    Jacob

  • Issue In Asset Transfer

    Hi
    I have an issue in Asset. I have created an asset in a wrong asset class by mistake. Now I want to transfer the asset value to an asset created in the right asset class. But when I am doing this, the system is transferring the proptionate depreciation calculated to the new asset. Pls suggest
    KM

    Hi
    It seems that the depreciation key has been configured to calculate the depreciation from the depreciation start key mainatained in the depreciation area. Hence, when you do the asset transfer, the system would post a pro rata depreciation from the depreciation start date to the date of transfer and transfer the same to the new asset. Howver, you can avoid that by changing the depreciation start date to the date of transfer. In such a case, no pro rata depreciation would not be calculated and transferred to the new asset.

  • About settlement, asset master data's amount column value

    Dear Experts,
    I  build an aseet master data :   A (the amount column's value is 0 in asset master data)
    Then, I build an asset purchase order  assign to A , after I  do GR,  A's amount column's value change to 1.
    But if as follows,
    I  build two asset master data :  B and C ,
    B's asset catalog is 167200(prepay for equipment) , c's asset catalog is 153100 (normal fixed asset)
    Then , I build an asset purchase order assign to B, then do GR , B has amount 1, and then ,
    I  do t-code: AIAB , settlement B to C , I found B's amount column's value still show 1 , and C is still 0 ,
    but the asset value certainly has transfer  from B to C......
    why B's amount column's value doesn't be changed?
    I can't figured out.
    Thanks a lot in advance.

    Hi
    If B is still showing value - It means values are not settled
    After AIAB - You need to run AIBU to settle the values.. Did you run AIBU??

  • Asset takeover date and asset split

    Hi All,
    I have an asset X with NBV of say 2000 (APC 5000 and Acc Dep 3000). This is currently available in system as one single asset.
    The problem is u2013 above asset is in fact a sum of many small assets for which useful life is different and NBV is different (we are tracking it outside SAP as of now)
    Say Asset 1..with APC of 300, Acc Dep as 200 and NBV of 100 u2026total useful life is 10 yrs and remaining useful life is 2 yrs
    Asset 2..with APC of 400, Acc Dep as 250 and NBV of 150 u2026total useful life is 10 yrs and remaining useful life is 4 yrs
    Similarly I have different assets which add up to asset X as mentioned above.
    Asset take over date is 31.12.2009 (We follow Jan to Dec year). We have gone live in mid 2010.
    I would like to bring those assets into Sap now. I mean make the adjustments now u2013 split the asset X to different assets. (We did not calculate dep for asset X until now from go u2013 live).
    We want to the calculate dep for newly created small assets from month May, 2011.
    Could someone help me with the correct process to be followed.
    One option I am thing about is u2013
    1)     Scrap the asset X (40 posting key will be posted to u2018asset disposal accountu2019 (P&L Account))
    2)     Make co code status to u20182u2019 and make changes to take over date.
    3)     Create new assets (in AS91) for all small assets with their useful life (Say for asset 1 u2013 I will keep total useful life as 10 yrs and remaining useful life as 2 yrs
    4)     In takeover values in AS91 u2013 I will put APC as 300 and Acc Dep as 200 for asset 1.
    5)     Make an entry through OASV for total APC, Acc Dep and remaining value to u2018asset disposal accountu2019 (P&L Account u2013 which is posted in point 1)
    6)     Put the co code back to active status u20180u2019.
    My Questions u2013
    1)     Can I follow above method or is there any other easy way?
    2)     What should be the takeover date? Is it 31.12.2010?
    3)     Should I change the takeover date back to 31.12.2009 after my transactions are complete or can I leave it as 31.12.2010? Its affects.
    4)     In OASV can I make posting to u2018asset disposal accountu2019 which is a P&L account? (System might ask for cost center which I thought I can provide it in OKB9).
    5)     Will the above process effect my current assets in SAP? I mean I do not want to spoil the current set up in system.
    Thanks in advance for the patient reading and providing solution.
    Regards,
    Kumar

    Hi Kumar,
    You Specify the transfer date for the asset data transfer. This date derermineds the status of posting to be used for the transfer. Posting up to this date will be included in the transfer. This specification also determines  whether you want to perform the transfer during fiscal year ( with transfer of posted transcation/depreciation in the current fiscal year) or at the end of the fiscal year (with out transctions).
    If the trasfer date is not the last day if the fiscal year ( according to the fiscal year variant FI), the system interprets this as transfer during the fiscal year. The system cannot transfer any historical transactions. It can only transfer cumulative values from the end of the last fiscal year, and the transctions in the current fiscal year (This is only possible for the transfer during the fiscal year).
    Ex....
    Transfer date - December 31, 2009
    Last Closed fiscal year 2009
    Specify the take over date as 31.12.2009. If the company gone live with SAP on 01.01.2010.
    I hope above note will clear your doubt.

    Narendra Kumar,

  • Attaching document in the Asset master data

    Hi All,
    If want to attach the supporting document in asset master data, i.e in AS02, AS03 what are the steps that we need to follow to implement this  in SAP?
    Also while doing asset transfer, how can we transfer the attached documents?
    Please provide inputs.
    Regards,
    Jayasudha

    Hi ,
    Below is the configuration steps
    Have defined a content repository (IMG activity Maintain Content Repositories, transaction OAC0)
    · Have maintained document types with the status "active" (IMG activity Maintain document types, transaction OAC2).
    · Have defined Relationships for your object type with the status "active" (IMG activity Maintain relationships transaction OAC3)
    Procedure
    Then if you check the service object in AS02 it will be in active status.
