AXI Ethernet Subsystem - PHY out of reset

Hi all,
I have been trying to use the AXI Ethernet Subsystem in the Mini ITX board (xc7z100ffg900-2) but I fail to take the internal PHY out of reset.
The Ethernet Subsystem is connected to a FIFO which is responsible for the block reset. I'm running the FIFO Interrupt Example that comes with the IP driver. The code gets stuck when checking for the MgtRdy bit. This seems to be because the on-chip PHY is not out of reset, since the PhyRstCmplt bit is also low.
The MGT_CLK interface is connected to the board VCO which is set up to generate a 125 MHz differential clock. The block is also connected to the board SFP.
In previous designs when I did not have a PHY (loopback setup using the MII/GMII interface) the core would work fine. This problem only came up when I instantiate the on-chip PHY. I tried using Vivado 2014.2 (1000BASE-X PCS/PMA) and Vivado 2015.1 (1G/2.5G Ethernet PCS/PMA) and no success in both cases.
Have anyone had a similar issue?
Is there any way to check if the VCO output is correct?
Thanks

Update: Phy is out of reset now but MgtRdy is still low. ISR reads 0x140.
What could be the reasons MgtRdy does not go high?

    Hello,
The example form application note 1082 works fine, but bare in mind to use proper SFP-RJ45 adapter. Our tests have shown that this application note doesn't work with optical or copper sfp, and also with some adapters. Newly bought 1000Base-T adapter works perfectly.

What version of iTunes are you running on your computer? You need to update to the current version.

MacBook pro won't power up! Acting asleep, black screen, fans don't fire up. Light nr catch pulsing, have taken batt out and reset but still blank screen, help!!

You may want to try this.
    Solution A
Start up your MBP while pressing Option (alt)|, Command, P, R until your hear 3 chimes rather than 2 as indicated by apple. This worked for me the first time.
    Solution B
Start your MBP while pressing Option (alt), Command, S
Hold until you see the computer automatic routine. When it finally stops type the following followed by "return":
    fsck -fy
It will probably indicate some problem related to "pcscd.pub" (should be 16 instead of 17). I haven't figured out what this means but somewhere in the Internet i read it is related to scan cards...
More importantly this routine will fix any problems with your HDD similarily to disk repair. When it ends, it will tell you if it has fixed/modified anything. If it has, run the routine again by typing again "fsck -fy"
Lastly, reboot by typing "reboot" (followed by "return")
    Solution C
Start up your MBP while pressing option (alt), command, S
hold keys until you see computer commands scrolling
when the routine stops type the following, each line followed by the "return" key:
    mount -uw /
    chmod 775 /
    chmod 1775 /
    reboot
After which your computer should reboot on it's own.
Each of the above has worked for me at one time or another. Once your computer has rebooted from the DVD you can reinstall OS X. If your problems started after installing 10.5.6, then I don't suggest updating until 10.5.5.
I'm very very disappointed with my 2007 MBP, it started to give me problems after 1 year. had to change the HDD and lately when I isntalled 10.5.6 it suddenly refused to start up., My previous Mac laptop (2003 866Mhz) worked for 4 years without a hitch. Ironically I've had to use it to access the internet and find solutions for my current MBP.
    best of luck

  • How do i find out or reset my user account password?

i just downloaded osx lion and mac prompted me for a user password and i have no idea what that is or how to find out what it is.

You need to cancel the Lion install for now.
Print this out as your going to be off the computer.
If you have the 10.6 disk then stick it in the computer and reboot holding c
The second screen in is the OS X installer, but if you look under the Utilities menu you can reset your pasword.
If you don't have a 10.6 disk your going to need to do this
Grab the name of the user account you want to reset the password for, write it down.
The Easy Password Reset Way. (no disk required)
1: Reboot the machine holding Command and S keys, you'll boot into single user mode.
2: Type in each command below followed by Enter or Return
    fsck -fymount -uw /passwd "username"
(where "username" is the users name of the password your trying to change)
    Example:
    fsck -fymount -uw /passwd johnnyboy
If you don't know the name of the users then enter
    ls /Users/
and you'll see three items: .localized, Shared, and a "username"
    When done
    exit
    or
    reboot
(note: if a firmware password is set, this or c booting from theinstaller cd will not work)

  • Axi 4 to video out not locking

    Hi,
I am using the Axi 4 stream to video out and I am not able to get it to lock .I am using the IP in slave mode and  have connected the VTG_CE to gen_clken of VTC.
I am running both the axi clock and video clock at 60  MHZ.
There is not VDMA in my design .Its just streaming data from a camera and doing some data width conversion and feeding to to AXI4 to video out.
I have attached the main part of my block design . I have also attached wave forms.
Please help me on this . I am really stuck

    Hello,
There are a few things that I'd constitute as a little 'strange' meaning not the usual use case.
    1) What exactly is the data width converter doing? Why are there so many tuser bits? Tvalid/tlast coming out of it look good, but what about tuser? It's not doing anything funny, is it?
    2) Your frame size (active) is really 120x768 pixels? Are you doing some sort of cropping? Can you put your camera in a more standard mode first to make sure everything else is correct?

  • HT3728 how do i reset up my macbook username and password the computer has been cleaned out and reset to original factory settings

I just had my macbook pro cleaned out and restored to it's original facory settings. i cannot access set up assistant to configure my username and password for the computer. it does not recognize my old username and password and I can't find where to enter this information.

Unless you erased the drive then reinstalled Mavericks you will not see the Setup Assistant to configure your initial admin account. I have no idea just what you did. But to reset to factory state means you had to first install the version of OS X that came with the computer on the gray labeled DVDs. For your model that would have been a version of Leopard. If you have a Snow Leopard DVD then you can use that instead. The process is:
    Clean Install of Snow Leopard
Be sure to make a backup first because the following procedure will erase
the drive and everything on it.
         1. Boot the computer using the Snow Leopard Installer Disc or the Disc 1 that came
with your computer.  Insert the disc into the optical drive and restart the computer.
After the chime press and hold down the  "C" key.  Release the key when you see
a small spinning gear appear below the dark gray Apple logo.
         2. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue
button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
After DU loads select the hard drive entry from the left side list (mfgr.'s ID and drive
size.)  Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.  Set the number of
partitions to one (1) from the Partitions drop down menu, click on Options button
and select GUID, click on OK, then set the format type to MacOS Extended
(Journaled, if supported), then click on the Apply button.
         3. When the formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed
with the OS X installation and follow the directions included with the installer.
         4. When the installation has completed your computer will Restart into the Setup
Assistant. Be sure you configure your initial admin account with the exact same
username and password that you used on your old drive. After you finish Setup
Assistant will complete the installation after which you will be running a fresh
install of OS X.  You can now begin the update process by opening Software
Update and installing all recommended updates to bring your installation current.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.
Once you have 10.6.8 running you can enter the App Store with your Apple ID and re-download Mavericks to upgrade to 10.9.2.

  • Dual 450mhz Gigabit Ethernet - Processor drops out.

    Hi,
I have a G4 Gigabit Ethernet with dual 450mhz processors, and I am having a problem where one of my processors will drop out all together. This has happened sporadically over the past year and a half that I've owned the machine, but it has happened three times in the past month. This doesn't seem like a good sign to me. When the processor fails - according to the activity monitor it's always the same processor - the only way one can tell is by the slowdown of the machine; there are no app crashes, freezes or anything out of the ordinary. A simple shutdown and boot up is all that is needed to get the processor back online, and once that has happened the processor keeps going. I can continuously run this Mac for days without incident. Before this, months.
Has anybody else run into this problem?
    Thanks in advance.
    Malcolm

    Thank you Japamac and Rodney,
When my friend, who is a Apple certified tech, comes around later this week to scope things out with my Mac, I'll have him check the heat sink and thermal compound.
When the processor dropped out the first two times, it did seem to coincide with an application crashing, the same app both times. However with the latest three episodes, there was no crash and that application was not running - The app I suspected I use almost on a daily basis and it has crashed a couple of times without coinciding with the processor dropping out - so I'm moving away from that theory. As I said previously, when the processor fails, the only way you know for sure is by the degradation of performance. I have also had one freeze up quite recently (maybe the third in a year in a half) but I don't know how you could determine if it was related to this problem, though. There was no information in hardware diagnostics.
Again thank you for your replies.

  • PDA ADHOC ETHERNET WIRELESS DROPS OUT

I'm utilizing an AD-HOC computer to computer wireless Ethernet connection between my laptop and my PDA to transfer data between my laptop and PDA.
The LabVIEW application on the PDA runs great once I have a good wireless Ethernet radio connection! However, I am having continuous trouble with the wireless Ethernet radio connection. It can take minutes to finally establish connection at times, sometimes it won't connect for hours, sometimes it will connect immediately. The signal strength meter on the PDA will go from good to best to good to dropping out entirely. Some days it works great, connects quickly, and stays connected. Some days it hardly connects at all. It all appears only to happen in my work environment, which includes being in a building and also outside on a test track. I tried the system at home over a recent 4 day holiday. The system connected immediately, and stayed connected every time for the entire four days. I would shutdown and re-connect from time to time. Every time the response was excellent.
I'm thinking that I may be having some type of radio interference problem at work. I've tried 9 different broadcast frequencies to no avail. Is there a way of increasing the signal strength of the radio frequency being transmitted from the PDA? Something I'm missing?
The Dell Axim 51V PDA is running windows mobile with the latest bios upgrade. The latest bios version hasn't offered any soultion.   I also have the same issues with a  Dell Axim 3.1 PDA running pocket PC 2003.

You don't say which WIFI you are using but the following is applicable to 54g and the older standard.
This is the nature of WIFI but you can improve matters.... If someone has one of those television transmitters that uses WIFI 2.4Ghz you are probably shot although I can report that the XBOX 360 controllers seem to exist very happily....
Set the data rate as low as possible to support the application and also set the Fragment Threshold and RTS thresholds lower (750 from 2500).
You may also find it helpfull to turn of auto channel hopping and fix the channel as well as turning off features such as pre-amble length detection and if there is a roaming decision parameter adjust it for distance rather than throughput. Turn it off if you can.
I also found that fixing IP addresses routes etc. seems to help as well and it seems more tolerant of drop outs as a result.
This is generally in the configuration parameters for the hardware.
This will need to be done at both ends.... I suspect however that an access point would be better as the antenna location will or should be optimised That's one reason why people use them. In an industrial context the best I have seen to date is the CISCO stuff but it costs....

  • Pull out tray reset

I'd like to use a pull out tray for a navigation item. The user would slide out the tray, tap a button in the tray, and it would take them to another article or page.
The trouble is, once they navigate away from the first page, that tray remains in the "open" position. If they return to the first page, the tray is already open from the last time they were there.
Is there a way to make the tray snap "closed" (the original state) once they tap the button?

Make that first page a single article. All interactivity will reset when you go back to it.
You could also try to use an MSO instead and have the button navto and go to the closed state.
