Backend role for FF

Hi Guys,
I read the FF installation and user guide and there, it mentioned that there are 3 pre-defined FF role that comes in the DAT file of FF.
Where can I find that DAT file, so that I can ask my basis team to download those standard roles into the backend system.
Thanks Raymond

Hello Raymond,
That comes with the standard installation files that you get from SAP. For the purpose of simplification you may search for that file in the folder where you have kept all the files for FireFighter by typing ".DAT" . This will dispaly the DAT file which you can then upload using PFCG.

Hersh.

    Hi,
The backend user, mapped to Portal, was given SAP_ALL authorization. Once that was done, the role was uploaded easily into Portal. But now, the issue is, which role is specifically required to perform the task. The role, s_rfc was already given to the user, but still I was facing the error.
As of now, I am keeping the post open, for discussion and points. Please post your valuable comments.
    Cheers!!!!

  • Cannot find Fiori Backend Role

    Dear expert,
I'm implementing Fiori wave 2 Leave Request Approval and Purchase Order Approval for customer.
The customer is using ERP EHP6, thus we installed GBAPP002 and GBHCM003 on the backend.
Both the components are at the latest patch.
However cannot find the pre-defined backend role in PFCG:
    SAP_GBHCM_LEAVE_APPROVAL_MGR  and
    SAP_MM_PO_APV_APP
Is there any important step that I miss?  Masayuki Sekihara

  • Mapping SRM Portal roles with SRM backend roles

Using ABAP as UME when we create a user in SRM backend and assign backend roles, then corresponding portal roles should also get assigned to the
user so that portal roles are not to be assigned separately by portal admin.
Currently for the requirement I followed the following steps:
    1. To SAPJSF user in SRM backend assigned roles SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATIONand SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION_RO.
    2. Created a RFC SPML of type 'G'.
    3. Activated UME-SPML connection in SPRO.
    4. Then in PFCG for the role personalization assigned PCD path of portalrole.
But I am not able to achieve the requirement through the aforesaid steps.
    Please Guide.
    Regards,
    Gagandeep.

If you are using ABAP persistency for UME your ABAP roles should appear in the UME as groups. Just assign the portal roles you need to your ABAP roles/groups. Thats it,
    cheers

  • Sld roles for jdi developers

    Hi,
we have the same ume (an abap system) for j2ee engines of JDI and SLD (they both are running on different machines).  In the backend there is no role assigned to my user "X". In the UME, I assigned my username to JDI.Developers group (This group by default has JDI.Developer role and also LcrInstanceWriterNR).
I started my NWDS development configuration perspective and clicked on OFFLINE to login, i entered the username and password, I was able to login, but with a dialog with warning
    "Name Server http://<servername>/sld/cimom is unreachable.
Landscape Directory <servername>:<serverport> HTTP response code: 403 Forbidden"
Since it was a warning, I ignored it and then clicked on import configuration now,and selected remote, a dialog popped up with the following exception. So, I think we need to assign some roles in SLD for this JDI developer. could you please let me know, what are those roles that should be assigned?

    Hi Helmut & Sidharth,
Sorry for extending the thread, but I have few more questions. Please help me in this regard.
    1. All the users are already in the ABAP System. I have only three users there, NWDI_DEV and NWDI_ADM. Please tell me what roles should I assign to these users in the ABAP system.
    2. Where should I create the <b>Groups</b> "JDI.ADMINISTRATORS" AND "JDI.DEVELOPERS". It should be definetely in j2ee engine of JDI.  am i right?
    3. Where should I create the <b>roles</b> JDI.DEVELOPER AND JDI.ADMINISTRATOR. These should be created in j2ee eingine of JDI. am i right? and these roles should be assigned the actions
              JDI.DEVELOPER :
                              CBS.Developer
                              CMS.Display
                              CMS.ExportOwn
           JDI.ADMINISTRATOR:
                              CBS.Administrator
                              CMS.Administrate
    4. In the j2ee engine of JDI, I will assign the groups JDI.Administrator and JDI.Developer to the security roles LcrInstanceWriterAll and LcrInstanceWriterNR. Am I right?
    5. In the ABAP Backend system, I will assign
       NWDI_DEV to SAP_SLD_CONFIGURATOR and
       NWDI_ADM to SAP_SLD_ORGANIZER
       as said in http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/4e/90a43f4aa1330ee10000000a114084/frameset.htm
are these roles enough in the ABAP backend system for these users or should I assign any other roles.
    6. So, now where are the roles, SAP_XI_CMS_SERV_USER, SAP_CMS_ADMINISTRATOR that are in ABAP system being used by me? I didnt use it anywhere. Could you please let me know to which user NWDI_DEV/NWDI_ADM must these roles be assigned?
sorry for long list. would be great if you could comment on it.
    Thank you
P.S: My Plan is to use this
    user|abap backend role| nwdi j2ee engine| sld j2ee engine
    nwdi_adm| sld_organizer| group jdi_administrators| nothing
    nwdi_dev| sld_configurator| group jdi_developers| nothing
correct me If I am wrong?

  • Buyer roles for monitoring SUS vendor changes

    Hi,
We are looking for EP and SUS roles for below scenario
When supplier admin logs in to SUS via EP portal, he can modify his /
her company (as part of supplier self service) data such as name,
contact info etc. Then, buyer can monitor changes done by supplier,
then he can transfer the changes to ECC. We were looking for roles in
EP and SUS that will allow buyer to monitor the changes, we tried SRM
admin role, but it was not pulling vendors modified in SUS. I can
monitor changes done for Vendor by buyers in SRM via application
monitor. But, we are having difficulty in identifying a role to monitor
changes done by supplier in SUS.
Will you please suggest which EP (front end) and SUS (Backend) roles
need to be used? Appreciate your help!
    Thanks,
    Chandra

    Barbara,
You can achieve this by building a custom program to add additional entries in VENMAP table for the same partner_GUID for the new backend system data.

  • Roles for MSS Reports

We are having some authorization issues with MSS reports. When we try to display the report from MSS , It says no authorization for transaction (name). When we give SAP_ALL to the manager at the backend, it works fine from MSS side. Please suggest if we are missing some thing. What are the standard MSS roles for the reports.
    Thanks

    Hi,
The MSS reports must have some Program name, say REPORTX or it may be called by some transaction.
Add the report name to the auth object P_ABAP for the MSS role or add the transaction name to the authorisation object S_TCODE and P_TCODE.
Either way, the problem will be resolved.
Or you can remove the SAP_ALL from the manager profile; Login with the userid of the manager. Try to run anyone of the reports and then after it throws the missing authorisation error, type in /nsu53 in the transaction bar and trace the missing authorisation. Accordingly add the same to the managers role.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • ERM overwrites backend role without warning.

    We are on version 5.3 - SP13.
I have uploaded roles to our ERM installation. The upload was performed with the bulk download file collected via the /VIRSA/RE_DNLDROLES - program in backend in combination with the role information file which we have maintained with relevant role attribute data. The Org-level file is not relevant for us since our security concept does not include derived roles.
When we took the tool into use we discovered that even though the upload was completed successfully there are examples of roles which are created with non-identical content (authorization objects and field values) from the actual backend roles.
When we started performing changes to those roles, not identical in ERM and backend, via ERM, the system did not give a warning of the inconsistency but just directly overwrote the backend role with the incorrect ERM version of the role.
Anyone else with experience with the same error?

Thanks Raghu and Frank for your replies!
    What I did was:
    1. Yes: I imported roles into ERM.
I made the assumption that the roles would be created correctly contentwise in ERM since the upload is done from a file which is directly downloaded from the backend system. I probably have some issues in this department as you have both already pinpointed.
Maybe the lack of including the OrgData file in the upload is the source for the error...?
Sorry about my stupid question Raghy, but how do I maintain the Org Data file? I see that the data columns are:
Rolename - Derived Org Level - From value - To value
Do I really have to maintain this manually when I do not have derived roles....?
(I see that there is a lot of org level values included in the system already from the initial upload.)
Do you have any general advise on how I can easily verify that my roles are created with correct content in ERM compared with the backend system?
    2. Yes/No: I agree that if you generate a role from ERM, then you must know what you do and expect the backend role to be overwritten.
What I did was that I opened PFCG from ERM to make changes to the role.
I have in earlier test scenarios received a system messages at this point in the process asking me if I really want to overwrite the backend role. To my understanding this message is supposed to appear in any case when the ERM role is different from the backend role. Then I have the possibility to cancel the opening of PFCG and synchronize the role from backend to ERM before I continue with actually opening PFCG and performing the role changes.
I do not know why I get this message sometimes, but not always.....
    Best regards
    Kari

  • Do we have to have system admin role for pdk???!!!

    Hi ,
Pdk Is meant for Java developers.and we have a requirement where developers will not be given system admin role, but just java developer role, that comes with PDK(to deploy, download, par applications)
i was going through the weblog
and in that it is mentioned ·
"To ensure that you have the correct permissions to run all the applications in the business package, you must be assigned to the following portal roles:
    Role ID     Description
    pcd:portal_content/administrator/super_admin/super_admin_role     Super Administration
    pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/administrator/super_admin/com.sap.portal.super_admin_role     Super Administration "
if the pdk has to have system admin role, then there is no meaning that it comes with java developer role .
can anyone tell me if i understood it a wrong way .
    please help
    Thanks,
    Lakshmi.

    Hi Lakshmi,
The Java developer role only comes with Component manager and Component Inspector and some plugins for IDE.
To work just with PDK a Java Developer role is fine, but once the PAR is deployed, a developer has to login and create the iview from that par.For this he needs a Content Admin Role.
I have gone through the link mentioned by you and it says u need to have superadmin role, every user, conent admin role for all the iviews to work correctly which is true this way.
If your iview is talking to the backend system u need access to the backend and to create a System object u need a System Admin role.
So, along with the Java developer role, a developer has to have ContentAdmin and SystemAdmin roles.
    Hope this helps.

  • Different roles for NWA

    Hi experts,
SAP documentation states that there are four roles for authorizing users of the NetWeaver Administrator tool:
    - SAP_JAVA_NWADMIN_LOCAL
    - SAP_JAVA_NWADMIN_LOCAL_READONLY
    - SAP_JAVA_NWADMIN_CENTRAL
    - SAP_JAVA_NWADMIN_CENTRAL_READONLY
Actually I have a 7.1 system here where the users are taken from an ABAP backend. In this system there are additionally three roles starting with "NWA"
    - NWA_JAVA_SUPPORT
    - NWA_READONLY
    - NWA_SUPERADMIN
All of them are stored in the UME database.
Now it seems as if with these three roles the four roles mentioned above are worthless. For instance if I assign SAP_JAVA_NWADMIN_CENTRAL to a user and log in to the NWA, this user has absolutely no permissions (even not to view anything). If I assign him NWA_SUPERADMIN the user has full access to the NWA. The same happens for the READONLY roles.
What I wonder now: Wherefrom did these NWA roles appear?
There is another system here (running on 7.0) where these roles did not exist and the users are taken only from the UME database.
So does anyone know something about these roles starting with "NWA". Were they created automatically?
Thanks in advance for all answers!
    Best regards,
    Torben

    Hi
The following authorizations exist for the SAP NWA:
    u2022 SAP_JAVA_NWADMIN_LOCAL
    u2022 SAP_JAVA_NWADMIN_LOCAL_READONLY
    u2022 SAP_JAVA_NWADMIN_CENTRAL
    u2022 SAP_JAVA_NWADMIN_CENTRAL_READONLY
The local roles allow you to administer the local system on which the SAP NetWeaver Adminstrator is started. The central roles are for administering the entire landscape that is available via the SLD. The read-only role does not allow any changes such as starting/stopping or a configuration change on the system to be administered. You can assign roles with the SAP NWA in the User Administration area.
    NWA_JAVA_SUPPORT
    - NWA_READONLY
    - NWA_SUPERADMIN roles automatically defined by SAP, for Communication,Archiving purpose.

  • Maintaining Backend roles and frontend roles(synchronising)

    hello all,
I have a problem, and thats how will I maintain properly both backend roles in R/3 and frontend roles on the PORTAL? like ESS/MM ROLES for portal?
What I mean I can set them up, but I am worried on that if we setup a role for the backend we may not always remember to set up the backend roles if you know what I mean?
we use a template which has the role mapping i.e backend and frontend but how do we succesfully synchronise these 2 roles for each users, as each user will always have both roles setup, but worry is sometimes they wont be IN SYNC with each other?
    this is worrying, any ideas?

    Hello,
If both the roles are not synchronized, then the user will face authorization error.
Then we can conclude that both the roles are not synchronized.
    thanks,

  • E-Recruiting 6.0: Business Partner Role For Branches

    Hi Experts,
In the IMG, SAP E-Recruiting > Basic Settings > Enterprise Structure > Define Business Partner Role for Branches
Can anyone help in the following:
    1) What is the purpose of Business Partner Role and how does it relate the Branches? Or how can i make use of it?
    2) If i am going to maintain the Company & Branches via the Administrator function instead of IMG, do I still need to configure this step: Define Business Partner Role for Branches
Thanks.  Will reward points for any helpful tips.
    William

    Hello William,
the Business Partner is an application / module which belongs to the base components of the SAP. It is used and partly extended by various other applications / modules. Next to E-Recruiting it is used for example by CRM and the financial service solution (FS-CS, FS-PM, FS-RI). All of these modules can put their data for a person or an organization into the same tables. Depending on the installation / system environment or even within one single module the requirements for available fields and business checks as on authorization differ between kinds of business partners (e.g. in FS-CS the commission solution for the financial service sector knows external agents and internal employees which have to be treated differently). The business partner is the element to assign the logical / business role in which a person is handled by the system.
For E-Recruiting you have 2 kinds of business partners, too. On the one and there are people being candidates and on the other hand there are branches of your company which hire people. The configuration allows you to seperate them if you need to identify anywhen which business partner is a branch and which is a candidate. So far I never tried if this is really working as there is no real use for this I never set it up. The attributes and the business checks are the same anyways.
Hope that helps a bit to understand the context

PS: please remember that you have to maintain the branches via administrator bsp application. Using the IMG entry won't work.

  • Automitic source of supply assignment in backend system for SRM

    Hello Experts,
I am facing one issue regarding source of supply for SRM purchase Requisitions in backend ECC system.
When we create a shopping cart in SRM 5.0, a purchase requisition is created in backend and has source of supply assigned to it.
I donu2019t want to assign source of supply to purchase requisitions created for SRM.
Can you please suggest how to achieve this?
Also I think, SRM is internally using BAPI u201CBAPI_REQUISITION_CREATEu201D from backend ECC system for creation of requisition. This BAPI has an importing parameter u2018AUTOMATIC_SOURCEu2019, and if we pass space to this parameter, it creates requisition without assigning source of supply.
If this is correct, then can I use any BADI or customization in SRM to set the value of this parameter as space when SRM calls this BAPI?
    Thanks in Advance.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sanjay

SPRO--> SRM > SRM server> cross application basic settings --> Define objects in backend system (PR,RS,PO)
waht is the settings you maintained for your product category / purchase group - external procurement .
the above setting determines your follow on documents in the backend systems.
