BAM Report Filters

Whenever we apply a condition to a filter it gets executed for a single row of data object.
Problem -1.
I want to test the value of a field in one row and another field in other row so how can I do that?
Is there any way to apply conditions on multiple rows?
Problem-2
When I prepare a calculated field using 'Group by' Construct it doesnt display that field in filters. Why is it so?
Can anyone plz help?

Try to keep the calculated field at data object level.

Is there any way the BAM report data to output to Xcel or PDF format?
It appears that the default reports(graphs) created from BAM ACTIVE STUDIO only allow to:
    - print
    - Return to Home
    - Return to previous page
when zoomed in (drilled down) to data sheet.
Is it possible to copy the datasheet to Excel or PDF, etc?

Technically no. I did find a work around that seems to be working for us. I created an excell report in BAM that looks at the dataobjects with the same filters/parameters of the report I want to export from. I then created an action button that linked to that report on the main report and called it "Export Data" and mapped the filters. When the user clicks on the button it seems like it is exporting the data from the graph they are looking at, but it is actually just opening a new report with the same filters. You can save the excel file to your desktop.
Note that there are bugs with excel, at least in 10.1.3.3 that causes it to freeze-up sometimes if you have any other excel windows open on your pc.

  • Unable to view Report Filters on Excel Services web part

I have an Excel 2010 file with Pivot Charts. I want users to be able to select filters for the pivot charts to modify their chart/report as needed.
This excel file with Pivot Charts is visualized using Excel Services Web Part on SharePoint 2010.
My problem: The Pivot Chart Filters do not appear on SharePoint. They are available when the file is opened in Excel 2010.
Is there a way to have chart/report filters show up on SharePoint (excel services web part)?

As per the article below it seems that Pivot Chart Filtering is not available with Excel services. The article reads
"PivotChart reports are not interactive when displayed in a browser. You cannot filter a PivotChart report directly, but if you interact
with the PivotTable report that supplies data for the PivotChart report, the PivotChart report updates accordingly. This means if you filter the PivotTable report, the PivotChart report updates to show the filtered data set."
    Unsupported Features in Excel Services
Though this article is for MOSS 2007 but if you read the following article for SP 2010 it reads "All other unsupported features continue
to behave as they do in Office SharePoint Server 2007 for Excel Services."

  • New changes are not getting reflected in the bam reports.

    Hi
I have created a BPEL process and it polls the data from a table and populate an object created in Bam.I have accomplished the above task by createing two database adaptors. One is on 10g database and another one is on Bam database.I have created a view based on the bamobject and used a database adaptor to populate the data. BPEL process is populating the data properly to that bamobject but those changes are not reflecting to bam reports automaticaly. We need to refresh the report or reprompt the report to see the changes.Could some help me to reslove this issue.
    Thanks in advance
    Laj Abraham

    Hi charles
I have tried that option too.But that is also not working. BPEL Procees is able to populate the BAM object with the help of the sensor. But those changes are not getting reflected in BAM Reports. But if i create or update an existing record in BAM object through BAM Architect, those changes are getting reflected in BAM Reports(No manual intervention is required).
Your help in this regard is highly appreciated.
    Thanks

  • How to show the processing time taken for a BPEL process in BAM report.

    Hi All,
I have the data as below in the Data object. I would like to show the time taken for each order to complete in the report.
instance Id     order Id     product Name     product Code     price     status     instance Time      updaterName
    1360010     ord004     Guitar     prod003     2000     requested     9/22/2008 12:12:11 PM     Invoke_InsertSalesOrder
    1360010     ord004     Guitar     prod003     2000     Approved     9/22/2008 12:15:11 PM     Invoke_OrderStatusUpdate
This data comes from simple BPEL process where sensors are configured at the start and end of BPEL process. Also have a human task activity in between to create the time difference.
In Enterprise link design studio, I tried to calculate the time difference using expression calculator and store it as calculated field. But that doesn't seems to work because when I execute the plan, second sensor data reaches only after human approval whereas first sensor data would be waiting for calculation and ultimately nothing comes into data object.
How and where the calculation be done to show the processing time in the report. Please someone throw some light on this.
    Regards
    Jude.

I would suggest modifying your data object so that the data can all be in a single row and use the sensor at the end of the process to upsert (update) the row created by the sensor at the start of the process. The time difference between two fields in the same row is then an easy calculation on a BAM report -- No EL plan should be needed.

  • Use of Report Filters in a document to drive report content

I have a webi document that contains two reports, a summary report and a detail report. These two reports run off the same query. The question is, if I add report filters (not query filters)  to the summary report, how can I dynamically refresh the detail report to use the same report filters, with out making the end user re-select the same report filters used in the summary report.
For example = I have a document that has a summary report that counts patients by location, in the same document I also have a detail report which uses the same query as the summary report, but prints the individual patients at each location.
I can add a report filter to the summary report, so I can filter on patients by *** code, which works great. But I would like the detail report to automatically pick up the report filter, so when I click on the detail report tab in my document, the detail report is also filtered on patient ***. I know that I can add the patient *** code report filter to the detail report and make the end user re-filter the detail report the same as the summary,  I am just trying to see if it is possible to do this automatically.
So far have not found anyway to do this. I prefer not having to write two queries, one for summary and one detail if at all possible.

    Hi Christopher,
If you select just one value and your users are able to type it in,
not having to select it via a drop down box, you might get it to work using input controls.
Create a new report variable (lets say for *** code) that will hold the selected value
Just create it with ="" and then place it in the input variables as a single value entry field
(note you have to select in the input controls now) an
You can use the contents of this variable in a report filter on the detail report,
you can add as many selection fields as you want, but you are not able to choose from a list of values...
    Good luck,
    Marianne

  • Use wildcards in webi report filters?  It seems they're only avail in Query

Can I use wildcards in webi report filters?  It seems they're only avail in Queries...

    HI,
Eventhough you have created variable BeX query designer.
    User reponse will work ,
    steps to  achive,
1.open the universe build on (Bex query with customer variable)
2.you can find the filter symbol in universe for customer variable that you have created in bexx query
    3. then copy the exact text eg:"select the customer" in universe for that filter
4.then in webi user reponse of that text. eg :userreponse("select the customer")

  • Strange issue with Multi-Table LTS and report filters (10g)

    Hi,
I am having some troubles with the following scenario:
I have a large flattened table that is being used as both Fact and Dimension in the BMM layer. I also have another table that contains some supplementary measures needed by some reports.
Logical Fact table has an LTS that consists of the 2 tables which are joined on 2 columns (eg, a.col1 = b.col1 and a.col2 = b.col2, etc). The columns used in the join also exist in the logical dimension which uses the same flattened table. I use these columns in my report filters.
I have created some Fact measures, some from each source inside the LTS.
What's happening is that when I am using this model in Answers, the query being generated is applying my filtering conditions to both tables, which seems unnecessary to me since they are joined on these columns.
    i.e.,
    select *
    from table1 a, table2 b
    where a.col1 = b.col1
    and a.col2 = b.col2
    and a.col1 = 'Value 1'
    and a.col2 = 'Value 2'
    and b.col1 = 'Value 1'
    and b.col1 = 'Value 2'
The last two lines in the query above should not be happening. I have not mapped these columns anywhere in the BMM to table2 (other than physical layer join), only to table1.
For clarification, it's not hurting the end results from what I've seen, but it is adding additional filtering to the query that can increase overall cost, which I'm trying to avoid.
    Any ideas/suggestions?
    Thanks

    Hi,
I think this is a known issue. I think that the BI Server pulls in both the tables involved in the LTS for any query (Yes, even if the query has only one column from any of the tables in LTS) and so are the filters.
In this case, what I would suggest you is to create 2 LTS (probably 3). One for each physical table (that are being joined in the LTS) and one for both of them joined (may be inner/left/right) etc.
With this kind of setup, when there are reports for any particular column of this logical table, the BI Server can go and choose the corresponding LTS only. However, if there is a report with columns from both the tables, the BI Server would choose the LTS with the join.
    Hope this helps.
    Thank you,
    Dhar

  • Oracle BAM report to display N number of records

    hello,
We have configured a BAM report which displays data from a DB view. now since my view has 100's of records and we would like to show only first 100 records on report page.
I understand this can be achieved by changing my query by adding  rownum <= 100 but here we dont want to change the query.
I have checked on BAM report property and dont see any such setting...
is this achievable from BAM DO or other property setting. ?

resolved this issue by using FlowN functionality available in BAM

  • Creating BAM report using data of two database tables. Say "EmployeeTable" and "DepartmentTable

I want to populate data from two database tables into a BAM report. I have created two data objects for the tables and want to create 3rd data object so that it can take the data from the other data objects automatically. Is there any such facility within BAM?

    Hi
    1. I am not sure if you have option to combine multiple DataObjects like that.
    2. For your scenario, on Database side itself, I would recommend Create a VIEW that joins these 2 Tables and pull the required Columns and add required conditions. Verify the VIEW has all the rows expected.
    3. Then create DataObject for this View. Once you have DataObject, create the Report.
    Thanks

  • BAM report from multiple systems...

Hi guys, just wanted to know if we can actually get the data from multiple systems and then generate a BAM report on those data??.Is it possible? and if so then can anyone show me the way.
    many thanks,
    Rajesh.

One option is create external data sources, though Oracle recommends that you only use these for data that does not change very much (since it does not go through the ADC, instead must be continually polled). http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E25054_01/dev.1111/e10224/bam_extl_data_sources.htm#CIHJFDAG
Another option is to create a simple BPEL composite that picks up the data from the various systems and sends it to BAM. In general, BAM is more efficient when data is sent to it, not when it has to get the data. (there are also other options including JMS, etc.)

  • BAM report export as a Excel

    Hi,
I have one requirment in my project.
we create List BAM reports with one button. If we click on the button list report need to export as excel report .
    How to achive this.
    Please help me on this.

    Hi,
Use the Excel View Widgets in BAM Studio.
    About Excel View
The Excel spreadsheet view displays columns containing rows of data in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. This view enables you to save the content externally (outside of the Oracle BAM applications) in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.
The Excel view requires that Microsoft Excel version XP, 2003, or 2007 is installed on the client computer.
