  • Enhancement for Electronic Bank Statement. MT940 structured format.

    Hello Dear Gurus,
There is a requirement for postings of outgoing payments.
Need to retrieve the certain parts of information from the bank statement text - field ":86: 070 "and put it into the relevant fields "Text" and "Assignment" of an accounting document. We use txt file.
So, one number should be taken from "?20" part and 2 others from "?21" of the field ":86:070".
As I found out there is a user exit EXIT_RFEBBU10_001 that could help with this.
Please, if you have any experience with this exit with the similar task, please advice.
I viewd the structures and tables imported/exported in this exit and do not see where this particular text is saved.
Any input regarding this topic will be useful!
    Thank you

    Dear Anna,
The field FEBEP-ZUONR 'Assignment number' gets filled with KUKEY + ESNUM + WAERS (refer to SAP note 417044).
To get the different value filled in the field ZUONR, please, check the 10th point in the note 494777 and make use of the user exit "FEB00004". Exit FEB00004 is called at the import of SWIFT MT940 in program RFEKA400.
You may use your own coding to fulfill your requirement also with the enhancement FEB0001 (EXIT_RFEBBU10_001).
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks and regards,
    Suresh Jayanthi.

  • Using Bank Statement in Excel format for Electronic Bank Statement

    Hello Gurus,
I have asked my bank for bank statement in the following formats MT940, SWIFT MT942, Multicash, BAI and BAI2 but they seem not to understand me and have not been able to provide that. I have been able to get the bank statement in Excel format and I will like to know how to develop the two TXT files that are required for bank statement upload. Does anybody have a suggestion of how to do the conversion?
    Thanks

    Hi
There are various std SAP programs for file conversion. Goto SE38 -> and do an F4 with program name RFEB* or RFE*.
You should get the list of programs related to EBS.
Also just check whts the file format required for tcode FF67.
One more thing will asking the bank for a specific fiel format, you just giv a reference of the file format which can be downloaded from internet.
    Hope this helps you.

  • TR-EBS  SwiftMT940 mapping to an IDOC message FINSTA01 - Bank Statements

For Treasury, we are going to move to the PI platform. We are currently using EDI.
We start the process by requesting Citibank(GXS operations team) to put a sample file into the outbound mailbox to let our company pick up.  The output of the file will be XML.
We will them map and create an IDOC with the FINSTA message.
However, we are only beginning the IDOC mapping process.
Does anyone have a sample crosswalk which will allow us to see how the SwiftMT940 from Citibank can be mapped to an SAP Idoc?
If so, may we see how you mapped the segments?
Also, how do you test the loading of the IDOC created? with the RFEBKA00 program?
    Please advise.

    Hello,
I am really not sure how you map to IDOC.
But, the following information may be useful to you.
Hello, You can configure the electronic bank statement at the following path: IMG => Financial Accounting => Bank Accounting => Business Transactions => Payment Transactions => Electronic Bank Statement => Make Global Settings for Electronic Bank Statement. All the settings will be done at this path only. 1. Create Account Symbols 2. Assign Accounts to Account Symbols 3. Create keys for posting rules 4. Define posting rules 5. Create transaction type Assign external transaction types to posting rules 6. Assign bank accounts to transaction types. There are different programs to upload electronic bank statement. FF.5 or FF_5. I think your case Multicash format you are using. You need have three files in FF.5 and two files in FF_5 You can prepare a Z program in order to truncate the electronic bank statement into two or three part files and save them on the application server. 1. Take all the external codes list from bank. 2. Take any available documentation from the Bank describing the relevance of the external codes. 3. Make sure that your Chart of Accounts (Bank Accounts) last digits logic is appropriate to meet the requirements. 4. Based on this decide the Account Symbols that are required to be created. 5. Make sure that the masking rules are configured properly. 6. Decide the posting rules that needs to be created. 7. Link up your external symbols provided by the bank with Posting rules and give proper algorithms for posting and clearing logic. 6. Concentrate on the posting areas to be posted while uploading the bank statement. Further explanation would help you to understand the functionality when uploaded the electronic bank statement. Main purpose of uploading the bank statement into SAP is to make your Bank Main Account and physical bank statement balance in sync. You do not have any traditional Bank Reconciliation Statement (BRS) report in SAP. SAP is normally you maintain bank main account and bank sub account. Whenever you make a payment through F-53 or F-58 or F110, the entry would be: Vendor Account Dr To Bank Sub Account The ending digits of the sub-account would be important in configuring the masking rule. Based on this masking rule when you upload the bank statement the entry the system would pass is: Bank Sub Account Dr To Bank Main Account It depends on the configuration, either the sub account will be cleared by the system automatically or you need to run F.13 to clear the sub accounts. At the time of receipts, you have different accounting entries unlike payments. It needs to post to two posting areas. 1. GL Accounting 2. Sub-Ledger Accounting The entries would system itself pass is: Bank Main Account Dr To Bank Sub Account Bank Sub Account Dr To Cutomer account. Clearing logic mentioned for your posting rules and the alogrithm used for your external bank symbols will also play pivotal role in clearing the accounts. Ideally you will use FF67 / FF.5 / FF_5 for uploading manual or electronic bank statement FEBA / FEBA_BANK_STATEMENT is used for furthe rprocessing. GO THROUGH SAP NOTE 48854 Please go through SAP Note. 48854. You will get an idea regarding the functionality of the algorithms. Though this note is in relevant to GB specific, you will find this very useful. description follows below regarding the normal procedure for maintaining table T028G. Due to the different bank codes and posting rules, pre-Customizing is not possible at this point. The following processing types are available - unless stated otherwise, you should use the interpretation algorithm: '000 - No interpretation' in each case. 1. '00': There is no processing. The entry line is ignored. 2. '01': A validation is made whether an entry exists for the transferred check number in the check table (PAYR). The check number and payment document number are transferred for further processing. Interpretation algorithm: outgoing check processing '011'-'013'; the update in the check file is via the interpretation algorithm. 3. '02': Transfer of the ending balance to the electronic bank statement 4. '03': Transfer of the opening balance to the electronic bank statement 5. '04': Clearing via the allocation number which is delivered with the bank statement. No interpretation algorithm. 6. '05': Clearing of BACS payments or BACS bank collection. The reference text field is first read to ascertain whether it involves payments initiated by users or bank collection via BACS. Providing it does involve a cash transaction initiated by the user, the payment document numbers concerned are determined via the reference number and transferred as a reference to further processing. Interpretation algorithm: '000 - No interpretation' or '019 - Reference number DME'. Note To differentiate between the two procedures in table T028G, you have to maintain two separate entries. Example: the bank uses bank code '62' for cash receipts and for BACS bank collection. Ext. Transaction +/- sign Posting rule Int. Algorithm Processing type 62 + GB62 001 5 62 SAPBACS + GB63 000 5 7. '06': Bank costs or interest revenues Recommended interpretation algorithm: '000 - No interpretation' 8. '07': Total amount of cash disbursements 9. '08': Total amount of cash receipts 10. '09': Items not paid Recommended interpretation algorithm: '000 - No interpretation' Regards, Ravi

  • Customer enhancements in electronic bank statement

    Hello Guys,
I have the following requirement for electronic Bank statement regarding customer incoming payments operations:
I need to clear Customer open items based on the bank data: the system should find the customer code based on his bank account number and clear the open items for this customer based on the amount and other text elements.
Do you know if I can use an existing function module or program to do so?
Thank you in advance for your help
    Best regards
    Pascal.

Why post to the clearing account? You can directly post to the customer account.
    Debit Bank
    Credit customer
For this you have to create a posting rule which will be linked to the external code (BAI code if you are getting the bank statement in BAI format) and the posting rule should have 'standard algorithm' assigned to it.
Then while uploading the bank statement you have to give the range of customer invoice numbers against BELNR or XBELNR. The system will automatically identify the customer based on the invoice number on Record type 16 appearing in Bank statement and clear the open item and generate the above accounting entry.
For a detailed description of how the EBS works, please see the thread titled EBS posted by Sheena Mehta and answered by me.

  • Electronic Bank Statement and Bank Accounts change...Statement Upload

    Hi,
I have an issue with electronic bank processing.
Currently my client is using A100 company code and bank account 123456 gl code 45000 and they are updating bank statements through electronic bank statement.
Now they have activated A200 company code and they want to use same bank account 123456 and gl code 45000 in new company code and the entire electronic bank statements need to be updated into A200 and A100 company code will exist in sap but client dont want to use this.
What customizations need to be done in SAP and how system will come to know A200 company code need to be updated when they update electronic bank statement next time?
Is there any specific customization in sap that shifts company codes and gl codes for electronic bank statement uploads?
What will happen to historic data when the same gl codes are used with different company codes?
Once the F110 is executed there will be batch job which will run to upload file...do we need to change anything here....
    Jaya.

    Hello-
Are you saying going forward you are are not going to use A100 and start using A200? If so, from an EBS config standpoint, all you would have to do is use the same transaction type and remove the assignment of old company code & bank account + bank key to the transaction type and enter the new assignment to new company code.
Next, make sure to create all the bank accounts and clearing accounts in the new company code (assuming all the config related to bank is completed).
This is it. When you upload using FF.5, it will look at the bank account number from the upload file and look for the company code.
    Hope this helps.

  • Electronic bank statement global setting and search string usage

In electronic bank statement configuration, there are two major places to setup the data
    1) Make Global Settings for Electronic Bank Statement
    2) Define Search String for Electronic Bank Statement
When bank statements are imported and possessed via FF_5, which of the above configuration will take priority.  I'm now using BAI2 bank statement

The Global Settings are required for loading bank statements.  The Search String configuration is optional.  Search strings are used in to override and/or augment the Global settings.
For example, you might have a BAI code that is used by the bank for 2 (or more) different types of postings.  You can only assign one posting rule in the Global Settings.  However, you can use a search string to assign a different posting rule to transactions based on the note to payee information.  So this is a case where the search string overrides the Global settings.
Or you might have transactions that need to be cleared based on reference information from the bank statement.  You would assign the posting rule and appropriate interpretation algorithm via the Global Settings, however you might need a search string to get the reference information from the note to payee.
    Hope this information helps.

  • EBS - Electronic Bank Statement Multiple Posting Rule for One External Transaction Type NTRF

    hello SAP Gurus,
I'm configuring EBS - Electronic Bank Statement. My requirement is for Bank External Transaction Type NTRF <for Incoming Payment> I want to assign 2 posting rules for Posting Area 2 that is Sub-Ledger posting viz. <1> For the payments received from Customer which should clear the Customer Open item since it is bill to bill exactly matching the open line item and <2> For the payments which should not clear the Customer Open item since i know that they are not bill to bill and only partial against the original line item
Is this possible? if yes then how?
Currently, SAP allows only one assignment like one external transaction type NTRF => one Posting Rule <either clear the sub-ledger-system picks FB05 or just post on Sub-ledger so that not to clear - system uses FB01 >
    Journal for Posting Area 2:
    Bank Clearing Account Dr
To Customer Account Cr  <either set this to clear with original invoice / or just post on customer so as to clear/handle it manually later on once paid fully>
So, what is the solution; how can i differentiate my incoming whether fully payment or partial payment; since bank statement always tag it to external transaction type NTRF always for any incoming payments !
    regards,
    `raj.

    Hi,
You cannot create separate rule with sub ledger postings while executing electronic bank reconciliation. The reason is your bill to bill transfers should posted to bank sub ledger account first and then you can write a BDC to clear sub ledger account.Otherwise use F.13 to clear the sub ledger account.
