BAPI sending zeros by default for certain fields to Biztalk

Hi Experts,
I'm hoping you might be able to help me with a problem I'm having with RFC calls. We have a custom BAPI that is sending data to Biztalk using RFC. We have an issue where when we execute the BAPI and leave several date and decimal fields blank, when the message is received in Biztalk the fields that were blank are populated with zeros. When reviewing the schema it states that the fields are optional. What can be done with these fields so that we don't receive default zeros in Biztalk when the fields are blank?

Yes very much possible to send email of specific fields change, however workflow will run on each edit but only proceed further when those specific field changes. Keep some hidden column which always will keep changed value for those column. When new value
suppose to change, check with this hidden column values, if different then send mail and update else, stop workflow.

How to avoid zeros in output for a field with Decimal type

Hi Friends
In a Report one output field is declared with decimal type.
Whenver that field is not filled with any values zeros will be displayed in the output.
I tried to change the data type to char but i am facing some issues in calculations and shwoing only 2 decimal places.
So is there any way to hide the zeros in the output if we the field is not filled with any value.

If required field type is declared as type p decimals 2 , if for that field in internal table there is no value - then automatically output will get display in ALV as 0.00.
To remove 0.00 in the output screen and to be displayed in blank then in the field catalogue add wa_fieldcat-no_zero = 'X'. in that particular field. then if no value for that field then it will display space in the output.

How do I assign a folder on a non-boot drive as default for certain media types?

I want the default folder for iTunes, iPhoto, Aperture, iMovie and iDVD to be on separate drives from the boot drive. Hoe do I change these individiually?
Also - what is the best way to create an automatic mirror of them onto other drives?
For example, 4HD (3 plus boot) plus external case with 5 drives, so drive number 1-9:
iPhoto drive 2 - mirror drive 5
Aperture drive 2 - mirror drive 6
iMovie/iDvd drive 4 - mirror drive 9
iTunes drive 3 - mirror drive 6

How to make an App default for certain kind of content?

In example, I'm on the Fliboard App, then I found a YouTube video but is too large and cant view it now, the obious option is to add it to the 'watch it later' list on YouTube but with the embedded video on the app i do not have this option, then I tap on the name of the video and it takes me to the YouTube page but I still have a embedded website on the Fliboard App and I dont have the full experience of the YouTube App, the most obvious way to do this should be something like: tap on the name of the video > open in the corresponding App (in this case YouTube but could be the same for Vimeo or similars) > view the video on native App and have a full experience on the video.
Is there a way to do this?

The C based languages are harder to pick than ones such as Java or web coding languages (AJAX, etc). Programming takes a lot of time and effort. Learning something new is never a waste of time if it is going to be profitable for you. It may take you a few months to get the hang of it if you have never programmed anything before but you have to start somewhere.
I would suggest getting some books and start reaading and trying the examples in the book. If you can figure out logic strings (IF event a OR c happens produce postive output) and learn how to use them properly you will be able to pick it up fairly quickly.
You application may take you a few months to produce but you will learn a lot along the way. Once you have done it once it will take you far less time to reproduce it later on when you may need the same code/skills for another project.

Tooltip for PCUI fields

Hi All,
We need to insert tool tip for the fields present in PCUI. By default, the field labels are displayed as tool tips when moving the mouse over the fields. I need to give some detailed description as tooltip for certain fields.
There is a property for tooltip in the field group table, but filling it with the texts doesn't show any change.
Please help me in this regard.

The purpose of tooltip is to give you the technical details of what you see in the screen. You can acheive the save by adding analyze=X in your URL.

How to increase the decimals in RPD for some field?

Hello gurus,
We have 1 filed in DW name as "EXCHANGE_RATE" when i query it DW it's showing me values with 4 decimal points.
and same column when i m using in OBIEE frontend, it's giving me values with 2 decimals.
So how to increase the decimals for that field in RPD?
we have 10.1.3.4.1 version.

Thanks for ur help, But I found one different way that will make change only to that particular filed.
Bcz if I will change the database properties that will change the configuration globally to all the fields.
So what I did is, I went to column properties and change the Data Format to 4 decimals and saved it as System-wide default for that field.
So, the change that i want will be their only for that filed...

Use subroutine USEREXIT_FIELD_MODIFICATION in Include MV45AFZZ.
Make sure this is for only tcodes VA41 and VA42 because this wil trigger for sales order also.

How to set a default value for particular field in SRM PO Portal

Dear Gurus,
Im desparetly need a help in web dynpro on how to set a default value for a field(flag) in PO header tab in portal.
My requirement is whenever the user press the edit button in PO screen,automatically a flag field should be set as abap_false.
I dont think this will handle in check badi or change badi. i tried this part in onbuttonpressed overwriteexit in CNR_VIEW views,i can get the function EDIT in debugging mode,but dont know how to proceed further.....
Many of them suggested to go with get attribute and set attribute for changing any particular field in web dynpro,but im not very familiar in using those get and set attributes.I request you people can give me sample code on how to identify my target field in the node and set the values while pressing EDIT Button.

My real requirement is, that particular flag should be enable and disable dynamically by checking a condition in my header values.So in that case i dont know how to proceed further to handle in the PO screen.

Setting default value for form field assoc with a table column

On a "Create Record" situation I was trying to set the default values of some form fields using a page level "Process". These form fields have Source Type = Database Column. It wasn't working, I could only set non-db assoc form field values no matter when the "Process" was set to exec. From some other posts it seems that this is by design, ie. not being able to programatically set the initial values of form fields that are sourced to db columns. I was hoping to have just one "Process" that would exec to set these initial values in one place rather than scattered about for each field that needed a default value. These particular default values come from ref tables and may be different for each user.
So, it looks like I have to use a "Default Value" plsql chunk for each field on the form itself or else set their value on the calling form's Redirect in the "Set these Items" area.
Is this correct?

You could define a database function which accepts the name of the item and the user ID of the user running the application. Based on the item name and the user ID have the function return the appropriate initial value. Invoke this function in a "Default Value" PL/SQL block.
Does that help in centralizing your initial values? You could have one function per page or one function per application. I would do one function per application.

Default cost center not appearing for certain users

Hi Gurus,
We are on SRM 4.0 classic scenario.
For certain users when they create SC in SRM the default cost center is not automatically taken into account even if they change it to it. The default cost center was changed for these users and some of them still refer to the old cost center no. which was maintained for them.
The users are not defective and the except the cost center all other attributes work fine. I have tested by deleting & recreating new BP no. for the users but it still doesnt help. Please advise.

Highlight Fields as default for PDF Forms

Hello all,
I've recently designed a PDF form with some required fields, which get marked in red as soon as you open the form. However, some Acrobat Reader users have to click first on "highlight fields" in order to see the required fields. Is there a way to set "highlight fields" as a default for this form?

The suggested code didn't work for me with Adobe Reader 8.0. However, since I am a novice at this, I may not be adding the code correctly -- can you please tell me if this JavaScript client code for layout:ready is correct or not? I added the code in red. (I am using LiveCycle Designer ES Version 8.2.1.4029.1.523496). It seems to be in the right place because if I alter the code to unconditionally set app.runtimeHighlight to false, then when I open up the form with Reader 9.0, the highlighted fields are off.

Default certain fields in SRM PO, directly created by Purchaser without SC

Hi Experts,
I am new to SRM. At my project most POs would get created via approved SCs. However some are likely to be directly created in SRM system and replicated in ECC. For such cases, I am asked to default the REQUESTOR & RECIPIENT fields with the current user(sy-uname). There is a suggestion to use BAdI BBP_DOC_CHANGE.
Is this a correct one? Requirement is to default the requestor & receipient fields with sy-uname which mean, when a user starts the SRM PO create screen, he should see his user name to be readily filled in at REQUESTOR & RECEIPIENT fileds.
I would also highly appreciate if some one can point me to an example implementation for this above BAdI. I spotted some example meant for Shopping Cart. Working on the same lines with BBP_PO_CHANGE method and trying to default the above fields did not work. Please help me with some pointers in regards to the above requirement as well as the way to go with the BBP_PO_CHANGE badi method as I have further requirements with this method.

Let me give you some interesting background to this problem. We had this same requirement for a client. We were able to skip the step 'Present changes to creator' and create a step that triggers the event "Saved" for business object BUS2121. In fact that solution works if you have SRM 4.0 and you have not gone past support package 6. When we goto SP 7 it doesn't work and SAP has said they don't support this.
We have been looking for a solution to this for a while now and appreciate you responding with your solution. I have not tried it yet, but will do it ASAP. If you have any futher details about this solution could you post them?

Search for certain Characters within set of Characters - in a field

I know a search can be made within a field for a word, but I am not to sure, or I don't know how to accomplish this...To do a search in a field for certain characters within a larger set of charcters.
For example: I would search, in the Call Description field, for DXXXX within CA0001DXXXXYYY or search for LXXXX within CA0001LXXXXYYY, the X is numeric characters and the Y's are Alpha characters. Can crystal accomplish this....

The following code can be used in the Record Selection formula:
Instr({database field}, "string") > 0
If you wish to search for 'D4444' in the field and return records where a match is found, you would use:

its very difficult to find out the BAPI useing the fileds .
At least you should know the Technical name of your BAPI when you are developing the application.
If you dont know the BAPI name then how can you map it to ur VC user and get the Data.
