Basic L2 bridge troubleshooting ACE
Hi,
I have a strange behaviour on new ace module :
I have a Dmz in bridge mode, I have installed a server on it with a simple web server, I first try to simple connect to this web server just being bridge between client and server.
Sometimes it works just fine, sometimes the tcp connection to 80 doesn't work.
When it doesn't work, the ACE does a icmp echo resquest to the source using it's IP.
The ping always works well.
Do you see anything in the config that is wrong or that I shoud add ?
here is the config :
interface bvi 1
ip address a.a.a.a 255.255.255.224
peer ip address a.a.a.b 255.255.255.224
description Bridge address for Dmz
no shutdown
interface vlan 454
bridge-group 1
no normalization
mac-sticky enable
no icmp-guard
access-group input Any
service-policy input PM_MM_454_VIP
service-policy input TCP_Connection_Timeout
no shutdown
interface vlan 554
bridge-group 1
no normalization
no icmp-guard
access-group input Any
service-policy input TCP_Connection_Timeout
no shutdown
Thanks
Hello Gilles,
If in a context you have many bridge group, how can you configure a route for each ?
on the csm, there was the gateway command, I though here the mac-sticky replaced that.
here is the arp table on the context :
85.91.161.65 00.50.5a.5b.a1.41 vlan454 LEARNED 17 9121 sec up IS the DG
85.91.161.70 00.08.02.94.9d.27 vlan554 LEARNED 24 9121 sec up Is the server
I tried now and even if the mac is in the arp table it doesn't work.
I have upgraded the blade to 3.0.0_A1_6_3b
I will look at the arp table when it works.
And here I am simply trying to connect to the server, there is no service defined on the ACE for LB and ICMP is sent to the server correctly.
Also the mac address table doesn't change even if it works for someone else.
so PC1 - server on port 80 ok
pc2 - server on port 80 nok
and then for no reason it doesn't work anymore for the first too.
Thanks,
Luc

Firewall Load Balance using bridged mode ACE
Dear Folks,
I 'd like to load balance 2 ASA using 3 ACE [ Inside, outside, dmz network zone]
I 've seen sample configuration, all of them are running the ACE in the route mode, and asa are running in route mode
Would it be possible to run the ACE in the bridge Mode, because the ip subneted problem, We don't have enough to split,,
by the way if possible,All server that install behind ACE, what is default gateway should Server Point to [ in our case we have 2 independent firewall ] should I create the VIP for both firewall ? or should I just simply set the server's gateway to BVI interface, ?
Please Help ThanksThank you very much Gilles,
You 're the man. ;-)
Another question in my case I try to load balance 3 interface firewall [inside, outside, dmz] in order to make the packet return the same firewall it has passed earlier,
What kind of hashing technique do I need to use and Do i need to use mac sticky command ???
I tried to find some configuration sample from cisco website , but i only found with only 2 interface with ACE running source hash and destination hash in each ends,
Thank you very much -

Welcome to the Cisco Support Community Ask the Expert conversation. This is an opportunity to learn and ask questions of Cisco expert Vignesh R. P. about the Cisco® Nexus 7000 Series Switches and support for the Cisco NX-OS Software platform .
The Cisco® Nexus 7000 Series Switches introduce support for the Cisco NX-OS Software platform, a new class of operating system designed for data centers. Based on the Cisco MDS 9000 SAN-OS platform, Cisco NX-OS introduces support for virtual device contexts (VDCs), which allows the switches to be virtualized at the device level. Each configured VDC presents itself as a unique device to connected users within the framework of that physical switch. The VDC runs as a separate logical entity within the switch, maintaining its own unique set of running software processes, having its own configuration, and being managed by a separate administrator.

Is there is any limitation to connect a N2K directly to the N7K?
if i have a an F2 card 10G and another F2 card 1G and i want to creat 3 VDC'S
VDC1=DC-Core
VDC2=Aggregation
VDC3=Campus core
do we need to add a link between the different VDC's

Bridge Cs5 Error: Output to PDF
Bridge Errors are being experienced on all Instances of CS5 installed within our organisation.
We have 7 Workstations ( MAcPro) with various versions of the Adobe Cs5 Suite ( I.e some have adobe Cs5 and AE stand alone installed, While others may have Cs5 Design standard installed)
All of the machine experience the same problem, in that when we try and create a PDF (Output psds and Jpgs from bridge to PDF) we get the following errors;
Having stepped through the normal Bridge troubleshooting guidlines takes us back to being able to launch bridge but apon selecting any future batch or grouping of images, once again return to the errros detailed.
Do any Adobe staff monitor these forums that may be able to advise?
On one of the machines the error is proceeded byHi Curt.
Thanks for trying to assist.
No we did not change any folder locations and in actual fact a test case of the process where I am able to replicate ion my laptop follows the steps as follows;
1) Open Bridge
2) Drag network located folder (afp mount in my case) (but clients indicated on the original query are all Fibre) to the bridge application thus opening the location in bridge
3) choose Output and set to create pdf to my desktop or any other local location
4) then recieve the errror regarding no available space ( screen shot provided above)
We are running 10.7.4 across our servers and workstations. I am not sure whether it ever worked correctly in 10.6.8 as I am new to the company, but make the assumption that it was working correctly as it was not a know "bug" or issue that was raised when the team discussed the migration to Lion. -
Missing symbol in bridge after ACR processing
I subscribe to Photoshop CC and have the latest version. I have a Macbook Pro, running Mavericks, just 5 months old.
I use Bridge and when I have processed images in ACR, the symbol that appears in the top right of the thumbnail to indicate that it has been processed in ACR is not appearing.
Yesterday I had a problem when thumbnails in Bridge were not updating to show the alterations that I made but a wizard at Adobe fixed that by replacing Camera Raw. I suppose the problem is related to that.
Any ideas? Thanks - AlanLet's look at Resets:
Bridge: Troubleshoot errors, freezes | Adobe Bridge | Windows, Mac OS
In Adobe Camera Raw, open the dialog and hold down your Option key. Cancel button will change to Reset. Click on that to set it to defaults.
Since we are volunteers, and some problems are out of our scope, please look at Customer Care options. Chat might be faster.
What are my contact options?

CS5 bridge Crashes Consistently
After the latest update to Windows XP Bridge in CS5 crashes consistently each and every time I move a number of files from one folder to the next.
The files get moved all right, but then Bridge vanishes.
The behavior is the same when I drag files and when I use Edit Cut - Paste.
I cleared the preview/thumbnail cache for all images in the hope that it was a caching issue but that made no difference.
Until this recent update Bridge was very reliable and never crashed.
I thought I could file a problem report with Adobe but there is no option for that. I hope someone here can help.Chris,
I don't see a way to attache a file so you get the entire log here:

Hello all,
We will change the CSS's to ACE's plataform's.
Do u know any aplication wich can convert the basic CSS configuration into ACE configuration?
Plataform's:
CSS11501S-C-K9
ACE 4710
The certificates installed in the CSS could be migratted to the ACE ?Hello,
The 4710 with the ACE software has a built-in CSS-to-ACE conversion tool accessible through the web interface. See http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/app_ntwk_services/data_center_app_services/ace_appliances/vA1_7_/configuration/css_to_ace/user/guide/cssaceug.html for example.
The tool may not convert 100% but it may provide a good starting point.
I don't see any reason why you can't export the certificates from the CSS (assuming you remember the password) and import them into the ACE.

How to import keywords into Bridge CS6?
I have hundreds of keywords I've included in Templates and I want to add the keywords to the Kaywords panel in cs6 bridge. How can I import them so they appear as individual keywords which I can then categorize into groups and subgroups? Thanks from Kodiak, Alaska.
Hi Marion,
Have you seen this help document? It goes over the basics of Bridge keyword support.
http://helpx.adobe.com/bridge/kb/nested-hierarchal-keywording-bridge.html
And here's quick post that walks thru importing steps (I think it's still relevant to Bridge CS6).

Basically I'm troubleshooting, I have been having problems with my webcam ever since I installed a new hard drive, it seem's to be turned on due to the light above so I'm sure what else to do about it because both Windows/Mac OS aren't picking it up.
At first I thought there be some 'drivers' from the boot camp files that I could manually install, like I did with the other devices but that didn't seem to work for the camera. Also I hear Windows would be fine using either Boot Camp 4,5 to download the appropriate files but each time I try anything I get something about 'unsupported hardware' because before I could install Boot Camp 3 fine but before I was running under 32bit Windows because I hadn't realised at the time that the Mac was using 64bit so it seems like it has something to do with the conversion from 32 to 64 bit but that wouldn't make much sense the Mac OS as far as I'm aware was always 64bit.
And I noticed if I try to be download via the Mac side for the boot camp files then I get 'The Windows support software is not available' but to be fair I have never had any luck in the past with getting those files off the mac side ever.
So in short 2 problems Webcam, Boot Camp need to work but are currently having issues.
Also I can't redownload 'Lion' since it's been saying 'item not available', which is rather frustrating since I originally paid for it, I'm forced to stick to Snow Leopard, I'm baffled to why I can't redownload from my history like I do with Xbox or Steam.Couldn't edit the question so thought add that the Imac camera light is turned on while using Windows, the Mac OS so it should be connected but it isn't.

Appleworks bounces once and doesn't open
I can't seem to get Appleworks to open- if I click on the icon or go to applications and click it there, it bounces once and then stops. It does not open. Any thoughts? It seems to be a different problem than recent "won't open" subjects. I have not changed it in any way or reloaded, etc.
I'm using version 6.2.9 on my ibook G4. Any help is greatly appreciated.Scott,
You are having a problem with a completely different program, so your problem is not the same. Other than my suggestions to purplesally to use Disk Utility to repair permissions & to create a new Dock icon for AppleWorks, the solutions are unlikely to assist with a problem with Mail. Since we never heard back again from purplesally, we don't even know if those suggestions worked.
When looking for solutions to a problem to a specific program, the best place to start is a forum for that program or your operating system. For you I suggest the Printing & Faxing forum in the Category: Mac OS X v10.3 & earlier & then choosing the Mail & Address Book forum or the Using OS X forum.
However, some basic OS X troubleshooting/maintenance steps might help you. So, the first thing I suggest is repairing permissions using Disk Utility. Then, unless you leave your Mac on 24/7 & not asleep, run a utility to run the UNIX cron routines & clean caches. Two free ones are YASU & OnyX.
Also, make sure your hard drive isn't too full. It depends on how you use your computer, but for most normal users a minimum of 5 gigs free space at all times after installation is recommended. Power users may need more.
If this still doesn't work, repairing your hard drive with Disk Utility may help. Start up your Mac from the first Panther instal disk. Then, instead of running the installer, go to the Installer menu & choose Disk Utility. Select your hard drive in the left-hand panel & click Repair Disk. When it is done, quit Disk Utility then quit Installer & restart your Mac. -
I reviewed another post on the support community that initally appeared to cover this topic. That question was replied to, and the person was referred to apple support pages that detail how to get one's iphone to link with wifi (turn off device, reboot router, go to iphone settings->wifi->click "i" next to your problem network and select "forget this network").... How do I select "forget this network"- it's not even an option (maybe it would be IF I could get the iPhone to connect to the network, but then I wouldn't need this question answered...)
I have multiple other computers (Macbook Air, iMac 2011, and PCs), as well as new iPad (also recently updated to iOS7) and my wife's iPhone 4S (running iOS6), all of which have no problem connecting to our networks (and no access passwords have been changed). Only my iPhone 5 seems to be left out in the cold. The iPhone 5 "finds" the networks, but will not accept correct access passwords as "correct", therefore cannot actually connect to password-secured wi-fi networks (at least the two I use daily- therefore I assume this problem would follow me elsewhere I might attempt to access a PW-protected network such as WPA/WPA2, etc).
Any ideas where to turn next, or is anyone else having similar problems? Thank you-Hi, Troy5.

Sometimes a simple power cycle of the router can correct the issue that you are experiencing. However, the issue could be a little more complex. Wi-Fi routers need adjustments to settings periodically for optimized performance with the constant progression of wireless device technology. Below, I have included two articles. The first article will cover basic Wi-Fi troubleshooting regarding iOS device connection. The second article cover the recommended settings for current Wi-Fi access points.

Genesys CTI Driver-Unable to create Driver for GplusVoice
I have a 8.0.0.4 and Genesys 7.5 integration. We are receiving the following error messages in our CommSessionMgr and Scomm Logs when we attempt to make a connection from Siebel to the Genesys CTI Server. There are no firewall ports blocking any traffic between Siebel and Genesys and then are on the same subnet and VLAN. Also, we can establish a basic connection to the Genesys T-Server without Siebel in place. We think that it may be a configuration issue somewhere but we are not sure where to look. I was just wondering if anyone on this board had any basic ideas to troubleshoot this issue besides looking through the log files and the Comm Drivers and Profiles section etc.
Thanks for anyone’s help on this matter!!!

Is Apple going to solve this problem?
As I scan through the forum with problems of my own, I see that the majority of the people all have the same problem. It must be a problem with software unless Apple is trying to force the users to purchase new units. Everyone is scared that their ipods are dead or corrupt and there does not seem to be a fix yet. I had the same thing happen to me and was left to figure out the problem on my own. The automated Apple help was of no assistance at all. Will Apple respond to this problem or let it be dealt with by forum administrators and such?
