Hello
Yes, it is possible to archive batches without a Basis consultant.
The documentation on SAP Help is very detailed and may help you:

  • Can I batch-archive emails and attachments to my hard drive? ...in a format other than .eml...which is stupid...

    My current email system no longer allows me to click on a bunch of emails - and their attachments, then 'print' them to pdf on my hard drive.
    My business must save emails for at least 10 years.
    Someone suggested Mozilla's email, Thunderbird, but I'm not gonna switch until I know that I can batch-archive.
    Thoughts?

    Hi!
    Thunderbird is capable of batch-archiving; you can select all the emails/folders/mailboxes that you wish to archive and then click "Archive". They will all be archived in their appropriate folders to your computer. There are Thunderbird add-ons available that will give you even better control over your archiving options.
    If you'd rather print them all to PDFs, you would need to have a PDF creator installed on your computer first. You would then select all the emails you wanted to print and then select your PDF creator as the printer at print time.
    If you are looking for a new e-mail client, Thunderbird is an excellent option. :) You can download it [http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird here].

    I hope that answered your question!
    <i>If it did, would you please choose this answer as your solution? It would help other Mozilla product users to find help on the forums faster and more efficiently. Thanks!</i>
    And of course, feel free to post back if you need more help!
    If you need more specific assistance with Thunderbird, it'd be ideal to post further questions to [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/thunderbird Mozilla's Thunderbird Support Forums] , instead of the Firefox forum. :)
    Happy browsing!

  • Batch archiveing procedure issues

    Hi
    I am trying to archive Material batches ...but i have structued in process
    i have followed below steps:
    i have maintained varient in mm74 t.code ... then click on start button ..click on immediately ..its become green ..then click  on spool button it becomes green ..then click on execute.....and go to sm37 ... i checked job statues is finished ...
    then goto SARA t.code .. there i  entered  archive object MM_SPSTOCK..then click on archive delete button ...archive selection screen appreard ..but inthis screen .. i have got the selections (which i have created variant in MM74)
    could you pls guide ..correct process..
    Regards
    Sasi

    ......i checked job statues is finished
    this is certainly not enough, An archving job finishes even it has not archived anything because of errors
    You have to display the spoolfile with the detailed archiving  log.
    There you can see if records got archivied or not.
    and if not, SAP lists the reasons.
    In case of batches it is usually a dependency, e.g. that you have stock, or that the batch is in use, because it is referenced in purchase order, production orders, deliveries etc. Those objects have to be archived prior to the batches.
    Further, depending on customizing, the write job and the delete job can be tight together. In this case you dont need to execute the delete job manually in SARA. However, you would see an extra delete job in the job overview (but only if the write job archived something)

  • Batch archiving - MM74

    Hello,
    I'm carrying out archiving of material batches on TCODE MM74. I have some documentation but still I'm stuck on technical issues.
    Does anyone have one step-by-step procedure (actually a proven document, not just a SAP PDF).
    I just want an immediate job that archives batches flagged for deletion with no stock, simple as that!
    Cheers.

    Job log overview:
    07.04.2008 15:07:17 Job started

    07.04.2008 15:07:19 Job finished
    If I try to read the archived object I have no data.
    On Log details, in the 'write' folder I have:
    No log was generated
    Message no. ARCH_PROT226

    The program does not provide a log.
    The program provides a log, but you requested the log output to go to the list (spool) and not the application log.

  • PI 7.30: OS command on AIX to archive files on FTP does not work

    Dear experts,
    Our PI system runs on an AIX server.
    I have a scenario PI --> FTP. I also need to archive files in a seperate folder on the FTP.
    I have been following thread:
    Read or Write File On FTP server based on another file existence.
    After file processing in the Audit Log in RWB I among others I get the information:
    Execute OS command "sh /usr/sap/SYS/flex/batches/archive.sh file.zip /ftpfolder/file.zip"
    It seems it is working properly.
    The file itself gets processed to the "ftpfolder". But in the archive folder I do not get a copy of that file.
    My script looks like this:
    #!/bin/ksh
    ftp -n -v <<%%EOF%%
    open ftpserver
    user myuser mypassword
    prompt
    asci
    cd archivefolder
    mput $2
    bye
    %%EOF%%
    In the file receiver I have "Run OS command after message processing":
    "sh /usr/sap/SYS/flex/batches/archive.sh %f %F"
    %F stands for the complete path, right? So if I say "mput $2" in my script it should use %F.
    Could you please help me out here. I really don't know what the problem could be.
    Thank you and best regards,

  • STO from non batch managed to batch managed - Incorrect batch being posted

    Hi Folks,
    We use STOs to transfer materials from a non batch managed plant into a batch managed plant with a one step movement. The process we use is to create the STO and enter material, batch, quantity and receiving plant / Sloc. Then create an outbound delivery (which pulls through the correct batch) for the STO which we pick and PGI. The movements are a 647 out of issuing plant (no batch), a 647 into receiving plant (no batch) and a 101 into receiving plant (with batch).
    The problem I have is that even though the correct batch is in both the STO and the delivery, when the one step PGI is done SAP ignores the batch and automatically creates a new one.
    Any one seen this before?
    Cheers
    Keith

    Isn't possible the material once had been batch managed but later batch management was removed (and batches archived)? You can have a look at change hisotry of material master <-- update: forget this suggestion...you cannot remove batch management indicator if you have stock...
    If the material is really not batch managed (you can find relevant record in MCHA table) then it seems you have inconsitency in your system; it's better you report this error to OSS.

  • PP : Batch archieveal validation

    Hi Gurus,
    Can any one suggest me a way to place a check before batch archieval?
    we are using COWBHUWA for issuing components and once all components are issued we need to return remaining stock in the Handling Units. So we use COPAWA transaction to unassign the HU from the process order. But in some cases operator forgets to unassign Handling Unit and performs archieval of Bach Record. After Batch Record archive we can't unassign HU.
    I don't want system to allow user to do batch archival when all components are not unassigned from process order.
    Thanks in anticipation.

  • RESETLOGS 이전 BACKUP을 이용한 RECOVERY

    제품 : ORACLE SERVER
    - incomplete recovery
    - using backup control file option을 사용하는 경우
    - create control file ... resetlogs 문장을 수행한 경우
    이 문서에 설명할 recovery 방법을 사용하게 되는 전제 조건은 다음과
    같이 정리할 수 있다.
    (1) Oracle version
    2. recovery 방법
    아래와 같은 상황에서 C 시점에서 database crash가 발생한 것을 가정하자.
    A B C
    -----------|-----------------------|---------------------|----------
    datafile과 control file의 resetlogs 수행 현재의 database
    backup
    restore시킨다. online redo log와 read only datafile은 현재 것을
    그대로 둔다.
    (3) startup mount
    (4) recover database until change <resetlogs 직전의 change number>
    using backup controlfile;
    여기에서 resetlogs 직전의 change number는 alertSID.log file에
    아래와 같이 명확히 나타난다.
    RESETLOGS after incomplete recovery UNTIL CHANGE 5847568231282
    (5) shutdown (normal)
    (6) 1번 STEP에서 backup받아 둔 현재의 control file을 restore시킨다.
    현재, 즉 C시점의 control file이 없는 경우 B와 C시점 사이에 backup
    받아 둔 control file을 사용하여도 되며, 그 경우에는 아래의 8번
    step에서 using backup controlfile을 첨가하여야 한다.
    (7) startup mount;
    (8) recover database;
    이 때 complete recovery 뿐 아니라 B와 C시점 사이로의 incomplete
    recovery도 가능하며, B와 C 사이 시점의 backup controlfile을
    이용한 recovery도 가능하다
    (9) alter database open;
    8번 STEP에서 incomplete나 using bakcup controlfile을 사용한
    경우에는 open resetlogs를 하여야 한다.
    3. 실제 recovery test 예
    실제 test한 예를 정리하면 다음과 같다.
    (1) database를 cold backup이나 hot backup을 받는다.
    cold backup의 경우에는 datafile, redo log file, control file을,
    hot backup의 경우에는 datafile과 control file을 받는다.
    (2) db에 batch 작업을 수행하여 archive file이 150 ~ 154번까지
    생성되었다.
    (3) db crash 경우를 만들기 위해 shutdown abort로 db를 shutdown시킨다.
    (4) 1번에서 backup받은 datafile과 control file을 restore한다.
    이 때 control file은 restore하지 않아도 된다.
    (5) resetlogs로 open할 수 있도록 incomplete recovery나 using backup
    controlfile을 사용한다. 이 예에서는 두가지를 모두 사용하였다.
    SVRMGR> startup mount
    SVRMGR> recover database until cancel using backup controlfile;
    SVRMGR> alter database open resetlogs;
    (6) 이 때 background_dump_dest의 alertSID.log를 확인해 보면 아래와 같은
    message를 확인할 수 있다.
    alter database open resetlogs
    Wed Nov 3 20:04:30 1999
    RESETLOGS after incomplete recovery UNTIL CHANGE 5847568231282
    (7) database에 batch 작업을 수행하여 arch1.log ~ arch4.log 화일이
    생성되는 것을 확인하였다.
    (8) database를 shutdown abort한다.
    (9) 현재의 control file을 backup받아둔다.
    (10) 1번에서 backup받은 datafile과 control file을 restore한다.
    이 때는 5 번과는 달리 반드시 control file을 backup받은 것을
    restore하여야 한다.
    (11) 다음과 같이 recover한다. 이 때 change number는 7번에서 확인한
    번호를 기술한다.
    SVRMGR> startup mount;
    SVRMGR> recover database until change 5847568231282 using backup
    controlfile;
    (12) shutdown (normal) 시킨다.
    (13) 9번에서 backup받아 두었던 현재의 control file을 restore시킨다.
    (14) 다음과 같이 resetlogs 이후 시점을 recovery한다. 이 때 incomplete
    recovery도 가능하다.
    SVRMGR> startup mount;
    SVRMGR> recover database;
    SVRMGR> alter database open;
    4. 결론
    위의 내용을 실제 test해 보면 resetlogs 이후의 시점의 control file이
    반드시 필요한 것을 제외하고는 특별히 요구되는 사항이나 복잡한 과정은
    필요하지 않다. 그러나 이것은 resetlogs 이후에 backup을 받아두지 않아도
    되는 것을 의미하는 것은 아니고, 만일의 경우 backup전 에 발생할 crash를
    대비한 복구 방법을 알려주는 것 뿐이다.
    위의 내용을 살펴보면 아래 정리한 것과 같은 습관이 필요함을 알 수
    있다.
    (1) resetlogs 후에는 바로 control file을 backup을 받는다.
    (2) resetlogs로 open하기 전에 archive와 online log를 backup 받는다.
    resetlogs로 open 후에 log sequence number가 변경되므로 기존의
    archive file과 같은 이름으로 archive file이 생성되어 overwrite하는
    경우가 발생할 수 있다.
    (3) resetlogs 후의 change number를 기록해 둔다.
    resetlogs 시점의 change number는 항상 alertSID.log file에 기록되지만
    user가 alertSID.log 화일의 과거의 내용을 지우게 되면 change number를
    확인할 수 없게 된다.

  • Deleting Reservations from MCHB

    Hi
    I have an issue related to the batch determination in the process orders. The reason for this known, batch archiving is not done.
    We tried to archive the batches but were able to archive only 45-50% of the total batches.
    Most of the errors we received are MM431 -
    Reservations Exist in MCHB.
    I need your help in deleting these reservations so that the batches can be archived.
    I tried MBVR to delete the reservations, it doesn;t allow me to delete the reservation stating that these were automatically generated and cannot be deleted manually.
    I checked the order for which the reservations were created, all of them are closed and have DLFL and DLT as the status.
    Please help me through.
    Vithal

    Hi
    Thank you for the rsponse.
    In the process order the FI indicator is ticked for the component batch.
    RESB has Deleted and Final Issue as X (YES).
    Anything else that needs to be checked? There is some inconsistency but i am not abe to figure it out.
    The entries were created way back in 2005.
    Kindly reply.

  • How can we change the valuation type for a material created.

    How can we change the valuation type for a material created.
    Note : All open orders are closed for this material.3
    Please guide

    Hi,
    You can change valuation class, or you can set valuation category for your material master. If valuation category is set you can extend your material master and in this way creating records for different valuation types.
    Please try to set the desired changes in your mmr (MM02) > save > SAP will give you error message > push 'Display error' button and you will see what conditions must be eliminated to carry out the change.
    - you are not allowed to have open transactional data
    - no stock in the current and previous period (using proper posting date in MB1A + 201 you can reduce your stock level to 0, and after that you can set it back by MB1A + 202)
    - in case of valuation category setting batch archiving may be necessary

  • Archive rows from one table to another, in batches of N at a time

    I am trying to set up an archiving process to move rows out of a large table into an archive table. I am using Oracle 10gR2, and I do not have the partitioning option. The current process is a simple (apologies for the layout, I can't see a way of formatting code neatly for posting...)
    for r in (select ... from table where ...) loop
    insert into arch_table (...) values (r.a, r.b, ...);
    -- error handling
    delete from table where rowid = r.rowid;
    -- error handling
    commit_count := commit_count + 1;
    if commit_count >= N then
    commit;
    commit_count := 0;
    end if;
    end loop;
    I know this is not a good approach - we're looking at fixing it because it's getting the inevitable "snapshot too old" errors, apart from anything else - and I'd like to build something more robust.
    I do need to only take N rows at a time - firstly, because we don't have the space to create a big enough undo tablespace to do everything at once, and secondly, because there is no business reason to insist that the archiving is done in a single transaction - it's perfectly acceptable to do "some at a time" and having multiple commits makes the process restartable while at the same time making some progress on each run.
    My first thought was to use rownum in the where clause to just do a bulk insert then a bulk delete:
    insert into archive_table (...) select ... from table where ... and rownum < N;
    delete from table where ... and rownum < N;
    commit;
    (I'd need some error logging clauses in there to be able to report errors properly, but that's OK).
    However, I can't find anything that convinces me that this type of use of rownum is deterministic - that is, the delete will always delete the same rows that the insert inserted (I could imagine different plans for the insert and the delete, which meant that the rows were selected in a different order). I can't think of a way to prove that this couldn't happen.
    Alternatively, I could do a bulk collect to select the rows in batches, then do a bulk insert followed by a rowid-based delete. That way there's a single select, so there's no issue of mismatches, but this would potentially use a lot of client memory to hold the row set.
    Does anybody have any comments or suggestions on the best way to handle this? I'd prefer a solution along the lines of the first suggestion (use rownum in the where clause) if I could find something I could be sure was reliable. I just have a gut reaction that it "should" be possible to do something like this in a single statement. I've looked briefly at esoteric uses of the merge statement to do the insert/delete in a single statement, but couldn't find anything.
    It's a problem that seems to come up a lot in discussions, but I have never yet seen a decent discussion of the various tradeoffs. (Most solutions I've seen tend to either suggest "bite the bullet and do it in one transaction and give it enough undo" or "use features of the data (for example, a record ID column) to roughly partition the data into manageable sizes", neither of which would be particularly easy in this case).
    Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.
    Paul

    Actually, you also have a problem in that you get a PLS-00436 error because you can't reference individual attributes of a record in a FORALL. (I think this restriction might have been eased on 11g, but as I'm on 10g I have to live with it :-().
    However, your code did give me an idea - I can just bulk-select ROWID and then do an insert ... select * where rowid = (the selected rowid). I need to consider how efficient this will be, in a bit more detail, and do some tests, but as I'm doing rowid-based selects it should be reasonably good. Here's some sample code:
    -- create table pfm_test as select * from dba_objects;
    -- insert into pfm_test select * from pfm_test;
    -- insert into pfm_test select * from pfm_test;
    -- insert into pfm_test select * from pfm_test;
    -- update pfm_test set created = sysdate - (rownum/24);
    -- commit;
    -- create table pfm_test_archive as select * from pfm_test where 1=0;
    create or replace procedure archive_data (days number, batch number) as
        cursor c is select rowid from pfm_test where created < sysdate-days;
        type t_rowid_arr is table of rowid;
        l_rowid_arr t_rowid_arr;
        i number := 0;
    begin
        loop
         open c;
         fetch c bulk collect into l_rowid_arr limit batch;
         i := i + 1;
         dbms_output.put_line('Batch ' || i || ': ' || l_rowid_arr.count || ' records');
         exit when l_rowid_arr.count = 0;
         forall i in l_rowid_arr.first .. l_rowid_arr.last
           insert into pfm_test_archive
           select * from pfm_test where rowid = l_rowid_arr(i);
         forall i in l_rowid_arr.first .. l_rowid_arr.last
           delete from pfm_test where rowid = l_rowid_arr(i);
         commit;
         close c;
        end loop;
    end;
    -- exec archive_data(17000,1000);Now to look at error handling for FORALL statements...
    Thanks for the help.
    Paul.

  • Archiving object for batch deletion

    Hi   ,
    Please let me know the archiving object for batch date deletion from table MCHA.
    MM_SPSTOCK is for archiving batch date from table MCHB.

This will take care of your Batch Tables MCH1, MCHA, MCHB(own stock) and also all of the special stock tables like MSKA, MKOL, MSKU, MKOP, MSLB .....(if used in your company)etc. You should be fine just using this object

  • Batch file extracting all files from nested archives

    I have managed to leverage a powerful
    forfiles command line utility with the mighty
    7z compression program.
    Below is a simple batch file extracting all files from nested archives hidden at any depth inside other archives and/or folders. After the extraction each archive file turns into a folder having the archive file name. If, for example, there was an "outer.rar"
    archive file containing nothing but an "inner.zip" archive with only "afile.txt" inside, "outer.rar" becomes "...\outer.rar\inner.zip\afile.txt" file system path.
    @echo off
    rem extract_nested_archives.bat
    move %1 "%TMP%"\%2
    md %2
    7z x -o%1 -y %TMP%\%2
    del "%TMP%"\%2
    for %%a in (zip rar jar z bz2 gz gzip tgz tar lha iso wim cab rpm deb) do forfiles /P %1 /S /M *.%%a /C "cmd /c if @isdir==FALSE extract_nested_archives.bat @path @file"
    ARCHIVES ARE DELETED DURING THE EXTRACTION! Make a copy before running the script!
    "7z.exe" and "extract_nested_archives.bat" should be in folders available via the %PATH% environment variable.
    The first parameter of extract_nested_archives.bat is the full path name of the archive or folder that should be fully expanded; the second parameter is just the archive or folder name without the path. So you should run "c:\temp\extract_nested_archives.bat
    c:\temp\outer.rar outer.rar" from the command line to completely expand "outer.rar". "c:\temp" must be the current folder.
    Best regards, 0x000000AF

    Incredibly useful!  Thank you so much.  I did make a couple of small changes to make the script a little easier to use from the end-user perspective.
    First - I don't like making the user input the redundant second parameter, so I added this snippet which extracts it from the first parameter.  The first line of the snippet enables delayed expansion so that special characters in our file name don't
    break anything.  The second line pulls the parameter into a variable, and the 3rd line uses delayed expansion on that new variable.  Before implementing delayed expansion I had problems with file paths which included parentheses.
    SetLocal EnableDelayedExpansion
    Set SOURCE=%1
    For %%Z in (!source!) do (
    set FILENAME=%%~nxZ
    set FILENAME=%FILENAME:"=%
    Anyway once that was done, I just used %FILENAME% everywhere in the script instead of
    %2 (making sure to correct quotes as needed)
    This way, to run my script all you need to run is:
    C:\temp\extract_nested_archives.bat C:\temp\Archive.zip
    Second - I didn't want to modify the Windows environment variable.  So I replaced
    7z with "%PROGRAMFILES%\7-zip\7z.exe"
    I also replaced extract_nested_archives.bat with "%~f0" (which represents the full path+filename of the current script).
    Here is my full script now.  Tested on Windows 8 with the 64-bit version of 7-zip installed:

    md "%FILENAME%"

  • Archive Batch master recors MM_SPSTOCK. Problem with MSKA

    Hi all,
    I am trying to archive zero stock batches from SAP. I use MM_SPSTOCK object from SAP.
    I can archive batches with no records on table MSKA. But if one material has records with zero stock records in MSKA I get message "dependant customer order stocks exists". But customer order is ended and record at MSKA has zero values...  am I doing something wrong?
    Thank you very much!

    Hello,
    it worked!
    I had records in MSKA but sales order and purchase order completely finished. I didn't have any stocks in previous period... so, ofter reading your responses I went back to MM74 and I realised that I wasn't mark "another special stocks option"...
    I know... a stupid own mistake...  sorry.
    Then I market that option and I could archive special stocks records at MSKA  (as i had no records at MSKU). After that execution, a new one finally archived unused batches.  wow!
    Thak you very much Jürgen!
