BC4J/JSP: Missing navigation values in table tag

We are using BC4J view objects, overriding the native functionality of the view object to call PL/SQL APIs plus JSPs with UIX/Cabo tags to render output for BC4J.
Within the JSP the dataSource/view object rangesize is set to 6 and we are using the table tag.
When rendering a page for the first time, the table tag navigator correctly shows the number of records eg. 1-6 of 100 and navigation through the record set works perfectly eg. next set is 7-12 of 100.
If you exit that page (to display another page) then return to it, the table tag navigator in the first page contains no values and it is not possible to navigate through the record sets. This happens to all our pages when rendering them more than once.
The log file shows that on the initial rendering of the first page, the Estimated Row Count is set correctly, and continues to be correct whilst navigating through the data. When returning to the first page after showing another page, the Estimated Row Count is 0.

I assume this doesn't happen in the non-overriden view objects. Can you provide more information on what functionality you have overriden since getEstimatedRowCount() doesn't seem to work in your version of the view object?

  • Missing characteristics value in table AUSP

    Hi all,
    In the classification of equipment master, the characteristics value of a new class could be shown but the value cannot be found in the table AUSP.
    (it's been ensured that the object no. input is correct)
    Where is the value stored? or is there something wrong?
    Many Thanks!

  • 9i; JSP; Row selected in bc4juix:Table tag?

    How could i detect which row is selected(radio button is checked)
    on <bc4juix:Table>. Do i have to go through all rows to find
    that?

    Hi
    For an example i have an app where users can search for
    companies and view products. At the company view page
    there is this line of code at the top of a the jsp page.
    sKeyName = "ds1_TableNav:RowKey:" + sSelected;
    sKey = request.getParameter(sKeyName);
    The sKey is the rowkey for the datasource clicked. For me, i
    send the the key to another page for a view of the company
    products using
    String sProductsTarget = "FkInvProductsCompanyIdLink_Browse.jsp?
    RowKey=" +sKey;
    The below code is how i send it to the page
    <jbo:OnEvent name="Search">
    <jsp:forward page="<%=sProductsTarget %>" />
    </jbo:OnEvent>
    Any comments on bad design(or better design!) welcomed

  • Report data ( value ... tag) missing in the Webi report retrieved through RestFul Webservice

    I am trying the below URL to get the WEBi report from SAP BO using the Rest Webservice support that is now available.
    http://{serverIP:serverPort}/biprws/raylight/v1/documents/{documentId}
    I am able to get the report but as I compare the same report response when using SAOP Webservice, there seems to be a mismatch in the response. Here is what I see in the SOAP response:
    </td><td c="1" ><cell  ref="1.E.4t" bid="14" h="26" w="231" pad="6,7" sid="-10"><ct >Some arbitrary value</ct><value type="xs:string">Some arbitrary value</value></cell>
    But when I run it through REST, I am missing the <value ..> tag:
    </td><td c="1" ><cell  ref="1.E.4t" bid="14" h="26" w="231" pad="6,7" bt="1" sid="-10"><ct >Some arbitrary value</ct></cell>
    Apart from this right at the start of the xml response, I see some property mismatch as well.
    SOAP has this property extra:
    <property name="output.format.xml.valuemode">yes</property>
    While REST has these property extra:
    <property name="output.format.xml.option.style">1</property>
    <property name="output.format.xml.styledict.fontplatform">html</property>
    <property name="output.format.xml.td.bandinfo">yes</property>
    <property name="source.selected">data</property>
    <property name="xelement.xml.object">yes</property>
    <property name="xelement.xml.object.usemap">yes</property>
    <property name="xelement.xml.object.usersupportedformat">image/png</property>
    I am not sure if:
    the <value ...> tag miss is because of these missing/extra properties or
    current REST support has some issues
    For my application the value tag is a must and I can't do without this, but with REST it seems no way to obtain that.
    Any help or pointer(s) in this regard is appreciated!

    Hello Milind,
    According to our Product Owner Sam Polichouk, the solution should be available for you in 4.1 SP3, which is currently scheduled for release by the end of March 2014 (subject to change).  The product team recommends that you get the raw, unformatted data values from within the Dataset specific call.  This data contains a type to tell the end user what kind of data it is, so you can format it or use it properly.
    The updated documentation for the SDK will be available at SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform 4.1 – SAP Help Portal Page once the Support Pack is publicly released.

  • Nesting a BC4J JSP data tag within a Struts tag?

    Has anybody tried nesting a BC4J JSP data tag within a Struts JSP tag? I can't get it to work. For example,
    <logic:equal name="sort" value="<jbo:ShowDefinition datasource='ds' dataitem='CustomerName' definition='ColumnName' />">
    blah blah blah
    </logic:equal>

    Try using single quotes in the value=' ' and double quotes in the jbo tag usage.

  • Missing some values for Navigation attr

    Hi All,
    1.     We are using a Navigational attr for an MD Info object
    2.     This Nav attr is used in Cube(Checked box - as Nav @ cube level)
    3.     Problem is : I am able to see all  Navigation attr values data , but randomly missing some values for this Nav attr.
    u2022     What is the reason?
    u2022     Please advise step wise..Any seetings I missed?
    Thanks ,
    LN

    Cube neednot display all values of your navigational attributes.It displays only value for which it recieved the main infoobject.
    eg :assume 0MATERIAL and nav attr say A.
    Then only values for 0MATERIAL which is present in the cube the nav attribute will be displayed.
    Hope this helps.

  • Issues with deploying BC4J/JSP applications on OC4J

    To everyone who's been having problems deploying BC4J/JSP applications to OC4J.
    We are aware that you're having problems deploying to OC4J, and we're working on them. OC4J was not available in time for us to add support for OC4J deployment to the JDeveloper 3.2.3 release. In addition there are some bugs in the first release of OC4J that have an impact on BC4J applications. This note describes the issues, and how we plan to address them.
    Issue 1: Classpath problems
    People have been getting "class not found" or "properties file not found" errors when they try to run their JSP. The answer is to make sure that all relevant archives and your JSP's .properties file are in the OC4J classpath - there's a note addressing the .properties file problem at http://technet.oracle.com:89/ubb/Forum99/HTML/000028.html. In general though, setting up the classpath can be tricky.
    Issue 2: JSP TAG NOT RELEASED ON END TAG. SAME TAG IS REUSED.
    This issue affects JSP pages whose behaviour relies on a tag instance being cleaned up as a result of release() being called.
    Your tag will not be released, and subsequent instances of the tag will reuse the first instance, rather than instantiating a new
    one.
    Issue 3:JSP SCRIPTABLE VARIABLE NULL
    A scriptable variable set in a tag cannot be accessed by a scriptlet. For example, this JSP code will throw a
    NullPointerException, because the scriptlet cannot access the value of resultRow:
    <jbo:Row id="resultRow" action="CURRENT" datasource="customer_vo1" />
    <%
    session.putValue("FIRSTNAME", resultRow.getAttribute("Firstname").toString());
    %>Workaround: Add a line of code at the beginning of the scriptlet to explicitly get the variable's value from the page context, for
    example:
    <jbo:Row id="resultRow" action="CURRENT" datasource="customer_vo1" />
    <%
    resultRow = (oracle.jbo.Row)pageContext.findAttribute("resultRow");
    session.putValue("FIRSTNAME", resultRow.getAttribute("Firstname").toString());
    %>
    What we plan to do
    To address issue 1, we're currently testing a utility that installs the BC4J runtime libraries to OC4J, and provides a script to start OC4J with the correct classpath. We plan to post this by the end of this week, along with instructions for deploying a BC4J application to OC4J; deployment will be a lot simpler after running the utility.
    To address issues 2 and 3, we're working on a second utility that installs BC4J runtime and provides a fix to the JSP compiler. We plan to post this second utility by the end of next week.
    We do apologise for the problems you're having; please bear with us as we work on making it easier for you to deploy BC4J applications to OC4J.
    Thanks
    Blaise

    Hi, I have been trying desparately to deploy
    a simple example JDeveloper application for months and months.
    I HAVE NEVER BEEN SUCCESSFUL IN DEPLOYING ANYTHING.
    I don't know much about webservers and I am relying
    on the instructions from JDeveloper help and this website.
    I have already tried Apache, and WebLogic
    because there are instructions in the JDev help.
    No luck.
    Now I am trying to use OC4J on 9ias because there are instructions.
    I have read the instructions about how to install a BC4J
    app on OC4J about 25 times, but I can't get this thing to work.
    It works fine inside of JDeveloper.
    I create a BC4J project using the scott
    schema (just the dept and emp tables).
    Then I create an empty project for my JSP client.
    I choose JSP Application from the web
    objects and it connects to my BC4J project.
    As I say, when I run it in JDeveloper, there is no problem.
    In the instructions for installing BC4J
    in OC4J, it first says install JDev 3.2.3 and OC4J.
    This is done, and it tested fine.
    Then it says to install the deployment software.
    No problem.
    But when I deploy the app according to the instructions,
    it just hangs (like Rick Wang's program did).
    The main.jsp page loads and displays correctly,
    but when I click on the links to the DeptView.jsp
    or EmpView.jsp it just hangs.
    Here is the entire batch file I'm using
    to start OC4J: cd c:\oracle_9ias\j2ee\home
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;c:\oracle_9ias\j2ee\home

    pause
    The file al_BC4J.jar contains my application.properties file
    and my connections.properties file, as well as my business components.
    All of the files referenced in my classpath are
    present in my c:\oracle_9ias\j2ee\home\lib directory.
    I noticed that Raghu's classpath contains a file called jdev.jar
    So does the classpath of another fellow who says
    he was successful in deployment (his name is Jeffrey Jackson).
    I searched my JDev_3.2.3 for this file and found it nowhere.
    I also searched my OC4J home and my 9iAS for this file and
    found it nowhere.
    It is nowhere on my C:\.
    Is this file necessary?
    I will also try removing my application.properties file
    and my connections.properties file from my BC4J .jar file
    and put them in a separate .jar file at the root level (as Raghu did).
    However, Jeffery Jackson did not do this and says he was
    successfull in deployment.
    ***DO I NEED TO JAR UP ANY OF MY THE FILES FROM the JSP
    FOLDER IN JDevHome\myhtml???***
    ***or place them in the classpath?***
    I have read over all of the discussions at: http://technet.oracle.com:89/ubb/Forum2/HTML/008232.html
    and http://technet.oracle.com:89/ubb/Forum99/HTML/000028.html
    many, many times.
    Can anyone help me?

  • Looking documentation about filling comboboxes in bc4j JSP´s edit pages.

    Im looking documentation about filling comboboxes in bc4j JSP pages (bc4j forms). My case is as follows:
    I have an edit JSP form. This edit jsp form needs two comboboxes. The values in the second combo box depends of the choice selected in the first combo box. Both combos are bounded to its respective tables.
    How can i do that?

    It is possible to use Javascript to refresh, but the code in Javascript is not entirely trivial.
    Here is an example of a dependent select control which uses javascript to refresh the dependent list.
    One use BC4J tags to populate a similar dependent list dynamically:
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Untitled Document</title>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">

    arrNewYork = ["Albany","New York", "Oakland", "Rochester"]
    arrTennessee = ["Gatlinburg", "Knoxville", "Memphis", "Nashville"]
    arrStates =[arrFlorida, arrNewYork, arrTennessee]
    // Function to handle dynamically altering the contents of the City List box

    // If state is selected add its cities to the City List box
    if (newDisplay >= 0)

  • JDeveloper 903 BC4J JSP Layout Customerization

    BC4J is so powerful that enabled me to built an application in minutes. I used the JDeveloper903 this week built a BC4J JSP Application pulling data from a single table on Oracle9i
    and wanted display the search summary result's lables and their corresponding data fields in a html table in the following ways:
    record 1
    Lable1 data 1
    Lable2 data 2
    Lable3 data 3
    record 2
    Lable1 data 1
    Lable2 data 2
    Lable3 data 3
    Not the default way:
    Lable1, lable2, lable3
    data1 data2 data3
    data1 data2 data3
    data1 data2 data3
    Also need a link to its detail page from data1.
    How can I customerize the layout based on the existing application or I have to re-build the application with new design?
    Any sample can show me step by steps?
    Appreciate your ideas!

    Is "Inserting BC4J Data Tags from the JDSP Data Binding Tool" in the JDeveloper903 the right direction to go?
    Thanks

  • Layout options when generation BC4J Jsp

    I have a novice question..
    Ive tried to user Jdeveloper to generate JSP pages for displaying data from Oracle tables. And it seems to work just fine. Ive tried BC4J Jsp, UIX Jsp and UIX XML. But i cant figure out how to change the layout! By that i mean how the JSP is presenting the data in HTML. Simple things like Font and color of HTML tables seems to be hidden somewhere...
    Any ideas???

    The style information is stored in a HTML stylesheet called BC4J.css in the case of the BC4J application. This file is already deployed in the webapp application. You can look at it in BC4J\redist\webapp\css. To customized these setting you can modify their values by inserting your own style sheet with the new style values overwritten.
    For UIX project the style sheet is generated and you have to go through style customization at the UI renderer level.

  • Master Detail BC4J /JSP

    Hi all,
    I am busy developing a small search application.
    For this application I use a Oracle View. This Oracle View has no reference to a primary key. In BC4J I created a entity object and view out of this Oracle View and named one of the attributes as a primary key. I also added a entity object and view out of an oracle table.
    I created a viewlink to display a master detail relationship. When I test the BC4J module I can see the master detail relationship, but when I want to create this master detail with the use of data tags (as the examples in How to Navigate Master and Detail JSP using data tags) I get the error RowkeyValue is Null.
    If I am using the original table as a master which has a primary key everything works.
    I know that Oracle also reference the Primary Key to a RowID.
    Is there any solution to use an Oracle View without a reference to be used in a master- detail relationsship in JSP?
    Thanks in advance

    You might want to try generating a Complete master detail BC4J JSP application on your BC4J logic
    which contains a view link.
    Once the app is generated you'll see a working example of how to do a master detail BC4J JSP..
    Basically the app will generate a JSP page for your viewlink..
    Here's a real simple example of how to do a master detail BC4J JSPs where you pass the Rowkey as a parameter to a detail page which uses the JBO:Row tag to locate the Master dept record, which then drives
    the detail record location..(since it is bound..)
    This uses a default Emp and Dept tables. Also EmpView3 is a ViewObject which is bound via a link to
    the master DeptView1 View Object.

  • Applet within a table tag.

    Hi,
    I have placed an applet within a <table> tag. The applet does not get executed. I see only blank space, even though the HTML source has the applet tag. If I remove the table tags and place the applet directly in <body>, then it works fine. So there isnt any problem with the codebase or anything.
    Are there any specific rules as to inside which tags can the <applet> tag be embedded? I would apprecite any information regarding this.
    Thanks,
    RG

  • "Missing parameter values."  --  Export and Print only...

    I have a web application and I am using CrystalReportViewer.  I am passing several parameters to Crystal using:
    report.SetParameterValue(field.Name, Session[field.Name]);
    I have session variables which will hold parameters needed to pass into the report.  The session variables are populated from controls on my webpage after an onclick event.  This even not only populates session, but also passes parameters to the report with the following code:
    ReportDocument report = new ReportDocument();
    Session["MapPathName"] = "./Reporting/CaseStudy.rpt";
    report.FileName = Server.MapPath(Session["MapPathName"].ToString());
    ParameterFields fields = new CrystalDecisions.Shared.ParameterFields();
    fields = report.ParameterFields;
    foreach (ParameterField field in fields)
          report.SetParameterValue(field.Name, Session[field.Name]);
    CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = report;
    This works great for reporting and is very extensible.  However, when clicking on the "Print" or "Export" buttons on the toolbar I get "Missing parameter values."  I attempted to export manually in code using the .ExportToStream function but I still get the error, "Missing parameter values."
    I received this error also in Refresh, Search, and Navigate functions.  This was corrected by calling a function that supplies the above code block to these functions.  However, I do not see any events for controlling the Print nor the Export events.
    QUESTION: How can I print or export a report when passing parameters using CrystalReportViewer?  Thanks in advance!

    There are no Export or Print events accessible for the viewer
    Since it sounds like you are creating the reportdocument object in your click event, the settings on this object become out of scope on successive postbacks executed by other events.
    to get around this without major changes, you can place your "report" object in session in this event and retrieve it from session on successive postbacks.  This should solve your problems around navigation, printing and exporting.  What you will need to do is check if the session object exists (usually in page_load or page_initialze) and if so, retrieve it from session and bind it to the viewer's reportsource.  If the session object does not exist, then do nothing (ie you have not clicked your button yet that retrieves the parameter values from session and loads the report).  Also, in your click event you can check if the report session object exists and if so, remove it so that it can be re-created with your new parameter values (ie i'm assuming the only time you want to set parameter values is in this event).
