Beginner Sharepoint Design help
Hello i need help with creating a combined view to display and edit two lists on a sharepoint site.
I can get the website to build successfully after i import the current combined data source and what not but anytime i try to filter the web part, it either
A) dissapears completely on me even though i am filtering it accordingly based off the correct field(it should work)
or B) it updates in sharepoint design, and even after saving, the changes arent reflecting on my sharepoint site and im left with my list before the filter
Im really confused as to why this is happening.

Beginner Web Design help with tables
For my college Web Design course we are building a basic website using tables and basic coding. Right now I am trying to align this img with the text on the left. The width of the outer table is 1024px and everytime I try and add the img into its own <td> it pushes outside the outer table. I have never bought into the nonsense about how tables should be used for tabular data only. Adobe has been touting the power of tables as layout tools for as long as I can remember, and still are: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/dreamweaver/cs/using/WScbb6b82af5544594822510a94ae8d65-7da3a.h tml (Although the wording has been toned down some).
DIV/CSS based layouts were not a part of my workflow until a couple of years ago. At that time, my plan was to make the switch from table based layouts (which already used a fair amount of CSS) to strictly DIV & CSS layouts. That’s when I discovered that Outlook and Gmail were unable to render DIV & CSS based newsletters. When I studied the newsletters of the industry leaders, and realized that almost all of them use tables with inline styles, I decided to put my workflow switch on hold.
While all of my mobile work is strictly HTML5 (DIV’s & CSS), I have given clients the option to go with either CSS or table based layouts for their websites. Most choose table layouts. Design migrations from Photoshop to Dreamweaver are 10 times faster with tables, with little to no CSS hacks, and far easier to maintain than the purists are telling you. This makes table layouts less expensive in the short and long run.

With all of that said, the W3C is planning on having the HTML5 recommendation finalized by 2014, at which time it should be completely stable and away from the bleeding edge. And while it is my hope that I will be done with table based layouts by then, I do not feel it is right that Adobe should make that choice for me by continuing to remove critical table, image, and text based tool sets from Dreamweaver. If for nothing else but newsletter design and development, we need those tools back. -
Can we have a loop in SharePoint designer workflows?
I am using Infopath2013 form along SharePoint Designer workflows. The approvers are dynamically selected based on the multiple drop down selection. In certain scenarios, there may be 10 approvers and workflow should flow everyone in sequence with approve/reject
option. If anyone rejects, the workflow stops, else workflow should reach till 10<sup>th</sup> approver.
I am using Repeating table and I am able to capture all the 10 approvers and put them in a SharePoint list as column value. But in SharePoint Designer, I am not finding way to loop the task for the number of approvers.
Is there way create a loop in SharePoint workflows?

Editing A Form in SharePoint Designer 2010
I am receiving an error message when I attempting to modify/edit a form in SharePoint Designer 2010: "EDIT FORM1.asp and New Item Form 1.aspx. When I attempt to add a new column to the list in Designer receives error messages

No, you do not have to edit the form from the master page. Master pages do not have forms on them. They define the layout and look-n-feel of a Sharepoint Site.
You said you are adding new column to the list in SPD. Why not in the site itself and then edit the form.?

Also, check if you master page is checked in and published. If there is content approval on it, it should be approved.

Trouble creating a Netezza datasource from SharePoint Designer 2010 using OLEDB
I am trying to create a data source in SharePoint Designer 2010 for connecting to a Netezza database via OLEDB. If I choose the Microsoft .NET Data Provider for OLEDB and give it the server name, username, and password, I get the following connection
error:
Server Error: An error occurred while retrieving the list of Databases from nzprod-vip: The data retrieval service encounterd an error during connection to the data source. Contact the server administrator for more information.
(The server administrator had no additional information.)
If I use a custom connection string, specifying the Netezza OLEDB provider, whose format looks like this (actual database and credentials omitted):
Provider=NZOLEDB;Password=...;User ID=...;
Data Source=...;Initial Catalog=...;
Persist Security Info=True;Port=5480;Logging Level=0;Log Path=nzconnect.log; Optimize for ASCII=True;
I get the following connection error:

The NZOLEDB provider is loaded on the SharePoint server running the SharePoint Data Retrieval Service. I can successfully connect to the Netezza database if I login directly to the SharePoint server and run a Netezza database
browser that connects via NZOLEDB using the same parameters that are in custom connection string I tried through SharePoint Designer.
Our SharePoint server configuration has one server for the application services (including the Data Retrieval Service) and two other servers running just SharePoint web services. (We actually loaded the NZOLEDB driver on all three servers for
good measure, though we think the server running the Data Retrieval Service would be right one.)
We do not think SharePoint privileges are a factor, since we had our SharePoint administrator try to connect while running with full access privileges.

i am not quite sure how the OLEDB connect to the netezza, as i heard they also have their own OLEDB, as you mentioned.

When a task expires is not triggered in SharePoint designer workflow

I am using sharepoint designer workflow for document approval and the tasks are assigned in serial.. but the when a task expires event is not triggered.. I have set due date for the task process but still it is not triggered.. Can anyone tell me how

I understand that when a task expires ,the workflow doesn’t create the tasks for next approval .This is how serial tasks works .You
need to complete the first task first before the next task is generated .So you can add actions by change the behavior of a single task .
Open the workflow in SharePoint Designer .Click Approval(1) to modify the approval process .
Choose ‘Change the behavior of a single task ’ on next page .Find the ‘When a task expires ’ section .
Add actions like ‘Rescind task’ (this action completes the task without an outcome) ,’Reassign Task’(reassign current task to another people ), ‘escalate task ’(escalate current task to manager) .
In this way ,the current task is whether completed or reassigned for completion ,then the next task will be created after current task is completed .

SharePoint Designer 2013 with SOAP DataSource and Windows Authentication
Hello
What do I need to do to create a SOAP Data Source in SharePoint Designer 2013 with Windows Authentication?
I am trying to display a list from another subsite in my Web Part Page using a DataView web part.
My environment is set up to use Claims with Kerberos.
Is there a guide available that talks about configuring this or troubleshooting this? What should I check?

According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to create a SOAP Data Source in SharePoint Designer 2013.
Please refer to the official article related, although it is about the SharePoint Designer 2010, it still works for SharePoint Designer 2013.

Having trouble with sharepoint Designer.
I am new to sharepoint and have found it very unwelcoming. I need to edit a list for our company and for some reason i can not seem to figure out how to do it. i navigate to the page i need click edit in designer and go to edit the form. I can add a row
below were i need to but when i go to add a box to type into the other boxes are known as form fields. and all i have found are text boxes. it would be great if someone could give me step by step directions on how exactly to make this happen.

Creating Data Source to SQL Server 2008 in SharePoint Designer 2013

How did you create the Data Source connected to SQL server using custom string?
I recommend to connect to the database by saving the user name and password to see if the issue still occurs.

SharePoint Designer - Splice repeating data into separate lists?
I'm a beginner with SharePoint Designer (for SP 2010), so please let me know if you need more info on the question below in order to determine the feasibility.
We have an InfoPath 2010 form that has a repeating section with several fields, one of which is an Approved/Not Approved radio button. The form can be used to house a mix of approved and not approved entries. The stakeholders would like to then
have that form populate two separate lists—one with the approved entries and one with the entries that were not approved. Since this information repeats and is merged into one column/one cell on the original SharePoint library, I’m not having any
success splitting that data out so that Not Approved lines go to one library and Approved lines go to another. I’ve been playing around with it but so far can only get an all or nothing entry to show up in one of the lists.
Is this possible with SharePoint designer to do this, or is it best to advise our stakeholders to change the form design to only accept one client per form?

You cannot do this with SharePoint Designer or directly with InfoPath form. You need to write code to submit data from repeating table to separate lists. See this for reference:

I get the above error whenever I try to save a new WorkFlow. I have cleared the caches

I still get the same issue.
We are using SharePoint Designer 2013 (15.0.4569.1503) and connecting to SharePoint 2013 on Office 365.
Can you please provide more insight?

You can compare your PC and another machine which is working, see if it is related to IE settings(e.g. SharePoint urls in trusted sites zone).
And you can try re-install the SharePoint Designer 2013 with same version and bit-version(32/64) on your PC like another machine, then check again.

While saving a workflow using SharePoint designer on a SharePoint site, I get the following error:
Server-side activities have been updated. You need to restart SharePoint Designer to use the updated version of activities.
Steps to recreate error:
Login to the WFE server hosting IIS and workflow manager, open SharePoint Designer 2013 and login to a SharePoint site.
Access the list using SharePoint Designer 2013, in the workflow section, click new workflow.
In the new workflow dialog, enter workflow details, click save (see screenshot below).
Error message is displayed as below:
After restarting SharePoint Designer, the saved workflow is not seen in the site/workflows or list/workflow section.
Workaround
When the above steps are repeated while accessing the site via SPD from any other box besides the WFE/Workflow manager host server, the error is not encountered and its possible to save/publish workflows.
Notes
Workflow Manager 1.0 is installed.
The site has been registered with Workflow manager using Register-SPWorkflowService
cmdlet.

Error on publishing workflow from sharepoint designer
when I try to publish my workflow created with Workflow Designer I get this error message
System.ServiceModel.ServerTooBusyException: The HTTP service located at http://serversp:32843/a5bd4fa831174777a536161331fdf118/AppMng.svc is
unavailable. This could be because the service is too busy or because no endpoint was found listening at the specified address. Please ensure that the address is correct and try accessing the service again later.

As I understand, when you published the workflow in SharePoint Designer you encountered the error.
I suggest you follow the steps below to troubleshoot this issue:
1. You could check if the App Management Service is started. (Go to CA -> System Settings -> Services on server -> check if the App Management Service is started.) If not, start the App Management Service, then perform iisreset.
2. If the issue still exists, you could click start->click “run”->type in “services.msc” ->restart "SharePoint Search Host Service". This is because there is not enough space to start the service. Note that the "SharePoint Search
Host Service" consumes a lot of memory.
