Behaviour of Printers parameters tool

Hy,
I have some Mac computers in a network with a Linux CUPS server, where many printers are configured. I have observed 2 different behaviour depending on the Mac OS version, when I tried to configure cups to access the server.
On both, I have added a "BrowsePoll" line in the cupsd.conf file.
With a 10.5 client, In System preferences / Printers, I need to clic on "+", then find the printers, and select those I want.
With a 10.6 client, In System preferences / Printers, all printers are automatically added, even if I don't want them.
Is there a way to change this behaviour ?
Thx.

A few things that may help:
1. Use the latest version of MWO.  Version 10.08 is available for download from
       https://awrcorp.com/download/default.aspx
2. Before importing the DXF file, select Options > Layout Options..., and in the Layout tab, set "Database unit size" to 0.001um.  Do not start with this project, the shapes in the EM structure appear to have been distorted by the course resolution (i.e. large database unit size) already.
3.Make sure the 45deg bend in your feed lines is well resolved.  In the version you attached, there is a notch in the bend: one of the two connecting rectangles needs to be extended so the corners overlap.
4. After you create the EM structure, and add the layout and ports, right-click on the EM structure in the project browser > Options... In the Mesh tab, click the "Reset Defaults" button, and then uncheck the box for "Model as Zero Thickness".  Just in case, click the AXIEM tab, and click the "Reset Defaults" button there, too.  (You do not need to reset defaults if working with a new project.)
5. Check the mesh and make sure all is well before running the simulation.
If you have any trouble (or still do not see the expected dip in the response) attach the updated project and describe the problem.

  • Odd Startup behaviour and cannot access tools- options menu

    As of this morning my installation of LV8 will not display the normal startup dialog box (allowing you to open existing VIs or open a new one), but simply opens a new VI immediately.  If I close this new NI then again instead of returning to the start up dialog it opens a second new (blank) VI.    Furthermore I cannot open the Tools->option menu from within a VI front panel.
    I've tried repairing the LV installation and when this didn't work I went for a full remove and reinstall - still no joy!
    I've also check that this is not user specific, so that when I log in as a different user on the same PC I get the same behaviour
    Help - please !!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi AMHurrel,
    This sounds rather strange.
    Did you change anything on your setup?
    When you say you did a full remove and reinstall, how?
    These are the steps I would follow:
    The following procedure will remove the National Instrument Software:
    1.     Turn off the computer and physically remove or unplug all NI hardware that you have installed on your system.
        This includes anything that is PCI-, ISA-, USB-, 1394-, or ethernet-based.
    2.     Turn the computer on and go through Add/Remove Programs (START » SETTINGS » CONTROL PANEL » Add/Remove Programs)
        and remove everything NI-related. Generally, if you can remember, it is best to uninstall things in
        the reverse order in which they were installed. For example, if you installed LabVIEW, then NI-DAQ, and then the
        Internet Developers Toolkit for LabVIEW, you should uninstall the Internet Developers Toolkit first,
        then NI-DAQ, and then LabVIEW last.
    3.     After everything has been removed (do not be concerned at this point if an item still shows up in the
        Add/Remove Programs list after you have removed it), close all programs and restart your computer.
    4.    Go to START button of your operating system, choose RUN and type "regedit". This will open the Registry
        Editor window. Go to the Registry Menu and choose Export Registry File. Select "All" for the export range,
        and select a file name. This creates a backup of the Registry in case a mistake is made when deleting the keys.
    5.     Remove the following registry components from the Windows Registry:
        HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\National Instruments Delete the entire tree!
        HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\National Instruments Delete the entire tree!
        HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Enum\PCI\ or \ISA and delete registry entries containing any
        keys with 1093 in them.
        Do not worry if any of these trees are not listed. Continue with the remainder of the process .
        Note: You may need to modify security policies. In Windows 2000/98/95/NT, go to [regedt32] then
        Security>>Permissions. In Windows XP you can modify security options using Edit>>Permissions in the
        Registry Editor (regedit).
    6.     Close regedit.
    7.     Make sure that you do not have any of your own VIs or other files saved in the "C:\VXIpnp",
        "C:\Program Files\National Instruments", or "C:\WINDOWS\nidaq" folders. If you do, copy them to a
        different location. If you are concerned about keeping old virtual channels and your SCXI setup intact,
        then backup the "C:\WINDOWS\niconfig.daq" file, too. Delete all folders and files mentioned above.
        Note: If you have Windows NT/2000, replace "C:\Windows" with "C:\WINNT" in the paths listed above.
    8.     Save the attached file msiBlast.zip to your desktop.
        a) Extract the file msiBlast.exe from the zip archive.
        b) Double click on the downloaded msiBlast.exe file to run the executable.
    c) Choose the Show NI Installers Only selection.
    d) Using (Ctrl+Left Mouse Click) select all National Instruments Software that appears in MSIBlast.
    e) Press the Uninstall button. This will uninstall all of the National Instruments MSI Registry entries.
    f) Optional:
    The Repair option will open the National instruments Installer Program and run the repair option within the installer.
    Maintenance Mode will open the Installer Program and allow the user to modify the installation. To open the installer do not enter anything in the Command Line Arg? Dialog box.
    9.     Reboot your computer.
    10.     You should be ready to install your software. For the cleanest possible install, first install all of your
        application development software, such as LabVIEW, Measurement Studio, etc. Do a custom install, so that you can
        install just the application WITHOUT ANY DRIVERS. Reboot your PC when requested after each install.
        Even if the installer does not tell you to reboot, it would probably be a good idea to do so anyway.
        Now install your driver software and follow the associated user manuals. Some older non Plug-n-Play hardware
        must be installed before the driver. Download the latest versions of the drivers that support your hardware
        from our Drivers and Updates software library (link below), and install them one-by-one, rebooting after each
        install.
    11.     Finally, shut down and re-install your hardware. When you boot back up, it should be detected in MAX.

  • Strange behaviour when running parameterized test

    Hello,
    I am using Flex 4.5 and FlexUnit 4.1 inside of the Flashdevelop IDE and I am experiencing some very strange behaviour.
    If I have 5 parameters to my test the test runs fine. When I add a sixth parameter of the type Array, I get the following error:
    "TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference."
    Please see below for my example code.
    The following parameterized test case runs without a problem:
    package {
        import org.flexunit.runners.Parameterized;
        [RunWith('org.flexunit.runners.Parameterized')]
        public class ParameterizedTest {
            [Parameters]
            public static var testData:Array = [
                [1,1,new Array(),1,1]
            public function ParameterizedTest(
                param1:uint,
                param2:uint,
                param3:Array,
                param4:uint,
                param5:uint
            ):void {
            [Test]
            public function testOne():void {
                // Test to go here.
    When I add an Array as the sixth parameter :
    package {
        import org.flexunit.runners.Parameterized;
        [RunWith('org.flexunit.runners.Parameterized')]
        public class ParameterizedTest {
            [Parameters]

                [1,1,new Array(),1,1,new Array()]
            public function ParameterizedTest(

    FAILURES!!! Tests run: 1, 1 Failures:
    Can anyone help me?

    Actually, I do see what's wrong.
    When you call a method in the ActionScript universe, you can can usually do a function.apply() and pass it a variable number of args. Unfortunately, constructors are the one type of method where this doesn't work. You can't actually do an apply() so we have to fake it by having a map of static functions which each know how to apply a given number of arguments to the constructor. There is a check in the code that tests if the number of arguments you have exceeds what our static map knows how to apply.
    It looks like that check should have thrown the error:
    throw new ArgumentError("Sorry, we can't support constructors with more than " + argMap.length + " args out of the box... yes, its dumb, take a look at Constructor.as to modify on your own");
    It didn't and I am guessing its because there is a border condition here. So, what happening is that we only support up to 5 arguments right now. That number is arbitrary. When it was written it just seemed like a reasonable number, however, this class was written before Parameterized testing was introduced.
    Your three choices right now would be to use the TestNG style of Parameterized testing, which uses functions and not constructor args so it will not suffer this same fate, change the code and compile flexunit for yourself, or we could put a patched Constructor class in your project which fixes it. Longer term, I would like you to file a bug that we should increase the number to 10 or some other quasi-reasonable number. We will never be able to support an infinite number and we will always need to pick som arbitrary line in the sand. It just seems our line should be farther out.

  • Report should prompt me for parameters, please help.

    Hi All,
    I am using Crystal version 10, So is there any way I can get the behaviour of my parameters as dynamic parameter? I have this requirement because when I am deploying the Report on BO server, and try to open the report from InfoView, it is not prompting me for parameters, rather it is giving me the copy which we had scheduled earlier. To get the fresh data with different parameters, we again need to schedule the report.
    What I want is simple, Whenever user clicks on the report link in infoview, I should be promted for the parameters my report is using.
    Please help..
    Thanks

  • Aspect ratio of selection tools locked in CS4

    Suddenly, all tools that produce a marquee during dragging are locked to a 1-1 aspect ratio, as though the shift key were depressed. For example, with the rectangular selection tool, a square marquee is displayed during dragging. However, when I let the mouse button up, the selected rectangle is not square, but has corners at the start and end points of the drag. If I depress the shift key before releasing the mouse button, I get the square selection corresponding to the displayed marquee.
    This behaviour affects all selection tools that display a rectangle-bounded marquee (rectangle, ellipse, crop), as well as drawing tools. Similarly, transformation tools such as scale and transform also act as though the shift key were depressed during dragging, but, when the mouse button is released, produce a result which one would expect if the shift key had not been depressed (unless it is depressed as the mouse is button is released).
    Any help to resolve this would be most appreciated!

    I've been having the same problem. I had it occasionally with Photoshop CS3 and I've recently upgraded to CS5 and it just occurred again. I would love to figure out why this happens.

    Greetings,

    Welcome to the forum!
    Please provide the 4 digit Oracle version (result of SELECT * FROM V$VERSION) for the source and target servers; 10g and 11g are not versions. You also mention sql developer so what is the exact version you are using?
    >
    If delete the "OF out_a.ALLOCATION_ID" of the for update clause of CURSOR exist_allocation, this prolbem will not happen, and the code is comple succesfully on sql developer for oracle 10g.
    >
    Please clarify what works and what doesn't work because your statements are both incorrect and misleading.
    You can't delete the "OF out_a.ALLOCATION_ID" of the for update clause or you would get a syntax error by leaving FOR UPDATE OF with nothing specified after it.
    Also you original statement said
    >
    But when compile a package which is fine on oracle 10g
    >
    But now you say that if you delete the "OF..." the problem doesn't happen and the code compiles on 10g.
    Does the original code compile on 10g or not? Does it compile on 11g or not? After the original code is migrated to 11g does it compile? That is, the code is there can you manually compile it?

  • Selection tool in Illustrator is inconsistent! Shift select to add, alt select to deselect!

    Selection tool seems to be a popular topic in the feature request forums, but I didn't find anyone complaining about exactly the same thing I am going to suggest.
    If I want to select a bunch of points with the Direct selection tool I usually drag a marquee to start selecting, but often am not able to select all the points I want in one move, so I have to shift drag to select additional points. This is when the annyoing thing happens. Points that are previously selected becomes deselected if I drag over them again, while points that where not selected becomes selected. This is confusing and feels quite messy. The inconsistency I am talking about happens when I use the lasso tool instead. Now I can deselect with Alt and add to selection with Shift (good behaviour!) This is also the way it works in Photoshop.
    Shift select to add, alt select to deselect! This should be the behaviour for all selection tools in all Adobe programs! It would be much more consistent with Photoshop as well. Right now using the alt-modifier with the Direct selection tool gives you the group select tool instead, so that would have to change. Maybe you can add an option for this old behavour in preferences for lecacy reasons...
    If this option is somehow possible allready then I might be missing something, but I didn't find anything like that in preferences.
    Best regards,
    Markus S.

    Make sure Object Selection by Path Only is turned off.
    If that does not help, reset your preferences.

  • Strange behaviour in web cartographic application

    Hi group,
    I have noticed a strange behaviour with the overview tool of my web application with MapInfo data uploaded in Oracle 10g with EasyLoader. When I put the cursor near the limit of some polygons but outside of its surface, the overview tool shows the info of this polygon when it should show the info of the neighbor polygon. It's like if the boundary of the polygon is outside of its limit but visually the borders are looking good.
    After many tests, I think the problem may be related with the tolerance precision and the table bounds in sdo_metadata. The table is in lat/long (8307) and the tolerance setted by Easyloader is X: 7.9013E-6 and Y:1.01201E-5
    In MapInfo I gave this bounds to the table: min x: -82.0483359 min y: 43.2322719 max x: -54.6521931 max y: 64.3415211 but when loaded in Oracle the bounds are automatically set to -180/180 and -90/90
    I tried to change the tolerance and the bounds in Oracle and create a new spatial index without success. Changing the bounds in MapInfo prior uploading to Oracle was unsuccessfull as well.
    Anything else could be tryed?
    Thank you
    Maxime D.

    Maxime,
    Didn't you contact me privately about something like this? No matter.
    the tolerance setted by Easyloader is X: 7.9013E-6 and Y:1.01201E-5These tolerances are not what Oracle says should be set for geodetic (8307) data. From the documentation...
    The tolerance value for geodetic data should not be smaller than 0.05 (5 centimeters)You can do one of two things:
    1. If you have SQL Developer, install GeoRaptor and then right mouse click on the table in the connect pane and select Metadata Manager. Then calculate XY values and if GeoRaptor doesn't set the tolerances to 0.05 do it manually. Then press Update.
    2. Using SQLPlus or SQL Developer's SQL Worksheet, do this:
    update user_sdo_geom_metadata
    set diminfo = SDO_DIM_ARRAY(SDO_DIM_ELEMENT(-82.0483359,-54.6521931,0.05),
                                SDO_DIM_ELEMENT(43.2322719,64.3415211,0.05)),
           SRID = 8307
    where table_name = YOUR TABLE
      and column_name = YOUR SDO_GEOMETRY COLUMN NAME;
    commit;NOTE: It is OK to have ordinate ranges different from -180..180, -90..90.
    Drop your index and rebuild.
    Should now be OK.
    If it starts to misbehave again (and the metadata has been changed) then all one could say is that perhaps the MapInfo software is modifying the metadata some how. Perhaps this is related to the MAPINFO_MAPCATALOG?
    Any MapInfo gurus know?
    regards
    Simon

  • Automated checking of Aligned option in Clone Stamp Tool. Intentional? Or my Install?

    Hi,
    Today I noticed a slightly peculiar behaviour in the Clone Stamp tool when "Aligned" is deselected. Clicking twice on the image with alt or option held down causes the behaviour of the tool to change and "Aligned" to become checked. So if you're not planning on using aligned, you alt/option click your mouse for the source point, decide on a different source point, alt/option click again, and suddenly you find yourself using an aligned clone stamp.
    This does not happen with the Healing Brush Tool, which makes me think it's not an intentional short cut. It's also mighty irritating.
    I've tried it with both x64 and x32 CS6 on Windows. Happens on both. Does it also happen on Macintosh? Is there any way to switch this behaviour off?
    Adobe Photoshop Version: 13.0.1 (13.0.1 20120808.r.519 2012/08/08:21:00:00) x64
    Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit
    Version: 6.1 Service Pack 1
    Best wishes,

    OK, according to Jeffrey Tranberry, there is no currently no way to switch this behaviour off - resetting the tool (something I consistently overlook!) reduced the time that the second click took to be recognised, allowing better control of the tool for me. Hope this helps someone in the future.
    If changes were to be made to this I'd want the double click switch to be turned off completely.

    For the sake of clarity and to save people time, Todd is asking about the behaviour of the Patch tool when using it to repair the area next to the young lad's head.  Todd gets a blurred dark tone pretty much regardless of the options he uses.
    IMO that's what I would expect to happen because of the close proximity of the other image elements i.e. the lad's neck and the strong lines of his shirt.  I would not choose to use the Patch tool in this situation.  Content Aware Fill makes a better stab at it.

  • Rectangle & Ellipse Tool Troubles CS6

    I just discovered that the following (taken from the CS6 help file) no longer seems to work. A 85 minute call to Adobe left me no further ahead. It's the entering a width value and then clicking on "height" to copy the width value into the height field. Same behaviour for the rectangle tool.
    Do one of the following:
    Drag diagonally until the ellipse is the desired size.
    Click where you want the top-left corner of the ellipse’s bounding box to be. Specify a width and height for the ellipse, and click OK.
    Note: To create a circle, hold down the Shift key while dragging, or if you are specifying dimensions, once you’ve entered a Width value you can click on the word Height to copy that value into the Height box.
    Is it just me?
    Yours
    Vern

    In my experience using the dialog box above, I would input my first value (width) and then copy it and paste it in the height field. There's not a one-click solution for that.
    Alternatively, I sometimes just drag out an ellipse while holding shift down to give me a perfect circle but I don't worry about the size. When I create the circle, I just find my way to the transform options in the top menu – make sure to enable constrain proportions – and then type in my width value. It will automatically change the height value to the same number when you click enter.
    (entering in the first value)
    (then I hit enter, and the Height changes accordingly)

  • I'm having a problem with Ultrabeat's sequencer in Mainstage

    In Mainstage, I've set up an Ultrabeat instance on the concert level so that I can use it as a metronome for the whole project.  (I like to be able to customize the sounds, add subdivisions, make it louder than the default metronome sound, etc.)
    However, I'm having a problem.  Sometimes, when I try to use it, it doesn't work.  Here's what I'm doing to recreate the problem:
    In ultrabeat, I create the pattern in the step sequencer, and the sound I want.  I have a very simple woodblock sound, and I set the sequence to be only 4 boxes long in Ultrabeat.  The sequencer in UB is "on".  I created a button on the workspace in Mainstage, and mapped it to UB's "sequencer Play/Stop".
    1. When I start the squencer, it runs - i can see the curse in UB moving to the right and repeating - but no sound come through the channel strip
    2. When I click the keys on the left side of UB, sound DOES come through the channel strip.
    So in essence, UB doesn't want to send sound to Mainstage by using its sequencer.
    Has anyone faced anything similar?  any ideas on how to fix this?  I've done it successfully before, but sometimes it just doesn't work.
    thanks,
    Keith

  • AGR_USERS is out of sync with SU01

    Hello!
    Scenario:
    So I'm having to replace roles for about 18 thousand users. We're delpoying the change a few thousand users at a time.
    We created a couple of ecatts that first removes all the access and then adds all the new access. The ECATT is setup by placing the roles horizontally across for each user, which assigns all the roles in one change. The issue we've noticed, comes from a few workflow roles that require a confirmation. The ECATT doesn't know what to do and skips the process for that user which fails to delete all access, which in turn, fails to assign all access.
    Issue:
    When I looked up the AGR_USER table to validate the assignment I noticed the table indicates the user has access, but when I go to SU01for some users the role assignment is missing. From what I can tell, it seems if I reopen the user manually and save, it reflects the change in the AGR table. What I need to know is there a way to mass sync the table to reflect the actual assignments in SU01? Or is there an indicator on the AGR_USER table stating the user is not synced with SU01?
    I need to find the users not synced between SU01 and AGR_USERS. Then assign the missing roles. Currently the AGR_USERS table is giving me false positives.
    Thanks in advance!
    Alex

    I would be very carefull of this behaviour and approach in a production system....
    eCATT can create inconsistencies and leave temporary data in the buffered application server tables.
    I am not logged on to check the field keys of AGR_USERS, but it sounds to me as if this workflow confirmation is not being skipped as you have described, but is rather stopping the process and leaving the roles you had wanted to assign in the application server memory.
    When you then access SU01 soon enough afterwards and save, it writes this inconsistency to the DB tables. If you wait for long enough, the systems own memory invalidations will fix it for you. So you have actually commited an error by saving...
    > What I need to know is there a way to mass sync the table to reflect the actual assignments in SU01?
    In this case, your error will not only go "Bang"... it would go "Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang.... rrraaaatatatatatatatatatata..." or simply to nothing at other (slightly later) times...
    Obviously that is not a reliable solution.
    In higher releases, the buffering of these types of tables has (as a general trend) been removed to prevent these types of inconsistencies and strange behaviour when using such tools which are intended for test systems and sandboxes, where data intengrity is not the primary concern.
    Cheers,
    Julius

  • Open Window Behavior not behaving

    Hi,
    http://www.ekongo.org/presse/Presse.html
    In the footer, the "multimedia" link should pop a 700 by 500 windows (no toolbar) which contains a flash anim of same size.
    But as i tested with IE 6.0, safari 4.0.3 and firefox 3.5.3 they all first open the popup window, then a bigger screen (with toolbar) which
    contains the flash file. The popup window remains blank.
    What can i do to fix that? Did i do something wrong? I followed the procedure described in doc.
