Best way to pull spark view nav out of mobilecomponents.swc?

I would like to use the new view navigator code introduced in Flex 4.5, however it is important that our mobile apps share the same code base (mostly) as our web and desktop apps. Since these components were only included in the mobile build, what would be the best way to go about merging in these dependancies to our main library, without pulling over the full mobilecomponents.swc (which causes errors when included in a non-mobile app). I believe the errors are being caused by incompatible base class defenitions, but please correct me if my assumption is incorrect.
Does anyone have any suggestions for the best way to pull out the view navigator code without requiring the entire mobile framework, or should I just abandon the concept for now?
Thanks for your time!

Hi, thanks for the reply!
Here is the error I'm getting:
ArgumentError: Undefined state 'landscape'.
     at mx.core::UIComponent/getState()[E:\dev\hero_private\frameworks\projects\framework\src\mx\ core\UIComponent.as:10596]
The error seems to be related to the theme, but I'm not quite sure what the best way to fix it would be. Is there an underlying flaw in my project set up, or do I need to set some kind of mobile theme in my Flex air project?
The main project includes a number of internal library projects, and each one has mobilecomponents.swc set to merged in code. I also need to be able to build the workspace as part of an automated build, so it's important I understand what the underlying issue is with the project configuration within FB.
I am using Flash Builder 4.5 Premium.
Any aditional insite you can give me will be greatly appriciated.
Thanks again!

  • What's the best way to pull off this guitar trick?

I have a funky wah-wah guitar riff (about 5 seconds in length)and would like to have part of the riff play on the left speaker and the second half play on the right speaker—kind of flow between the two speakers organically. The riff was originally recorded in mono.
What would be the best way to accomplish this effect? Automation and pan the signal in real time? Or double the recording on two different tracks and the cut it up and pan so one half plays on the each speaker for half of the time? Any other ideas or tricks?
Basically, I’m just trying to get it to sound as “natural” as possible, if this makes any sense. I’m just curious how you guys would pull this off. Thanks for any tips.

    hi
personally i'd do what you suggest: automate the pan of the gtr region/track.
i'd either use one of my midi controller knobs - assign it to pan and then do it in realtime... or just draw in the pan automation and play around with the nodes of the automation and smooth them out with the curve tool...
you could also use something like the stereo spread plugin and the tremolo and automate the later (depends on the rate of panning you want and the effect)
or use a pan plugin....i think destroyfx had one - but i can't find it now - something like autopan....which you can sync to the bpm.
    hope that helps

    hi all,
me and my wife both have iphones and  have recenly bought a ipad and apple tv. I am getting a bit frustrated as i cant work out the best way to store and easily view my old pics and video files.
the shops salesman convinced me to by knowhow cloud which seemed brilliant but it wont back up al photos so ill go back to the shops. its just app on the phone that shows all pics stored on my windows pc
i also want to know what way is best to store and view some .mod files or moi files. I have air video which works great for divx files but not the ones i want ex my video camera
    any help greatly received
main reason for the ipad is to create a central hub for viewing pics and videos on and streaming to tv in background when we have parties or just remenicising

Unfortunately, the playback of non-iOS-native video formats (everything except mov / mp4 / m4v) is horrible through Apple TV and it, because of the inherent speed restrictions of Wi-Fi, can't be helped other than:
    - pre-converting your video files to mov / mp4 / m4v before playing them. (THis is the best solution.) For this, you will want to use the absolutely best and fastest video converter, the free(!!!) HandBrake. Don't ever think of paying any money for any video converter - most other titles are way inferior to HandBrake. (See http://www.iphonelife.com/blog/87/benchmark-excellent-multimedia-converter-handb rake-vs-commercial-apps for more info on this q.)
    - using a VGA or HDMI adapter and connecting your TV directly to the iPad.

  • Best way to pull an MBP from a toploading computer case

Please help solve a philosophical dispute we have over here.
What's the best/safest way to pull a MBP out of a toploading computer case? One hand or two hands? Put it in so you will pull from the latch side or from the hinge side?

Thanks for all your input, it's always helpful to have sources to quote when know-it-all's try to out-know-it-all you... Just a couple of items for the record (and for our Canadian newbie to confirm our looney-tune'ness):
We've all come across a number of reports in the forums about warped lids, which raises the suspicion of pressure on the edge as a cause. Especially in big 17" lids.
Way back, I had a black 5200 PB. After awhile of pulling it out by grabbing from the hinge side, the LCD started failing, with all sorts of psychedelic patterns. Turned out Apple used a flat ribbon cable to connect the LCD to the motherboard and it did a 90 degree turn, folded over itself, near the hinge. My repeated pinching on that side eventually caused the cable to fracture. Nowadays, you could argue that pinching the latch side could cause the built-in iSight to fail.
Anyways, I just received a RadTech Sleevz for the MBP, which will afford better grip when pulling it out of the case, so problem solved.

  • The best way to get 5.1 sound out of Mac Pro

Hello. I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but could someone recommend me the best way to get 5.1 sound of a Mac Pro. Since I don't require hi-fi -level sound, just simple directional audio for gaming and such, I wouldn't like to pour a lot of money to this. As I see it, I'd need an external sound card, internal PCI-E soundcard or speakers that have an optical input. I would like for the cost to be in two digits, euro or dollar.
    Any suggestions about hardware?

Once again, the issue of 5.1 w/Apple comes up.
    Here is the bottom line.
You will only get 5.1 audio if the following conditions are true:
    - You are using the OPTICAL output on your Mac
    - You are playing a DVD with a 5.1 soundtrack
That's it. The simple truth is, that even if you have a Z-5500 setup (like I do), you still will not get 5.1 surround in ///any/// applications other then while playing a DVD.
There is no way to get 5.1 out of a game on a Mac Pro. No matter how much money you throw at it. The support simply is not there. It is not a software issue, it is not a driver issue. It is the game developer's issue (sort of), and it is a //lack of hardware// issue.
The complex truth, and I will attempt to explain, isn't that simple.
Your Mac Pro or Macbook only has a single line-out, that supports 2 channels at the maximum. Optical audio will only handle 2 channels as well- it's the same signal (in two channels) on a different medium, basically.
All PC soundcards that support proper 5.1 (save for a select few) have //multiple// line-out jacks for Front Left/Right, Center/Sub, and Rear Left/Right (3 plugs total for 5.1). Since your Mac/Mac Pro doesn't have this, you can't hook up a 5.1 speaker set and expect true 5.1.
You do have optical audio, however, this only works in 5.1 when a Dolby Digital signal is piped through the optical cable.
Dolby Digital works by encoding a 5.1 signal as a data stream, sending it to a receiver, where it is decoded and played back as 5.1 stereo. DVD's have this audio pre-encoded on the disk.
If you wanted 5.1 output from your games, they'd need to ether have the sound/audio data encoded as Dolby 5.1, or support encoding on the fly to take a 5.1 signal, encode it, and pipe it out the optical audio plug. Xbox360 does this, because they've licensed the technology from Dolby- as have the game developers.
Unfortunately, none of the developers for Macintosh gaming have yet to include live Dolby 5.1 encoding (I think Doom 3 had a beta patch that did- I could be wrong).
If the game doesn't support the above feature, then you only get basic 2 channel audio.
*Do not buy a Fireface 800.*
This is a professional audio interface (like an external soundcard). While it supports 5.1 output via 6 individual outputs, you need SPEAKERS that have +built in amplifiers+ (called a Studio Monitor). Not just one amplifier- all the speakers have it built in and take a balanced stereo input.
You're looking at $1300 for the Fireface 800, and another $200 per speaker. This is not cheap, is not meant for gaming, and is not consumer grade equipment. It's pro audio, designed for Logic 8 and similar.
Even if you did spend the money, trust me, I'd know... I have a 5.1 setup running through an Apogee Ensemble (a $2000 "soundcard"), and I do not get 5.1 support from Quake 4, C&C 3, or any other game. I only get 5.1 surround from my audio production in Logic 8.
To recap, since this has been asked many times- and I don't want you wasting your money here (just trying to be helpful!)...
*There is no simple or cost-efficient way to get 5.1 from your Mac, other then while playing a DVD movie.*
I would highly recommend that you buy a very good pair of 2.1 speakers with a Sub woofer. Maybe even a pair that takes an optical input for audio. If you really want to spend the money to *watch a DVD in surround sound,* then you can... And it'll work wonderfully, but gaming will not give you surround sound at all.
*Again- There are no games out that support 5.1. Just because you technically support Dolby 5.1, doesn't mean the applications are aware of it and can utilize the 5.1 surround.*
Edit: I may have neglected to also mention that the Firewave unit will support 5.1 properly through 3 separate plugs (much like a PC soundcard does), however the only game I am aware of that supports this is Unreal Tournament 2003 for Mac (or was it 04?), with an experimental patch for 5.1 via OpenAL. Last I heard, it worked okay, but crashed occasionally.
Most of the other games out there just don't support 5.1, period (probably due to the lack of hardware on the Mac computers from the factory).

  • Is The Best Way To Update OS to "Zero Out" eMac Hard Drive?

Ok, so I've got the OEM Apple eMac Tiger installation discs and
will be updating to Tiger 10.4+ in the next week or so.
Here's my question: Is it better to "Zero" out the eMac Hard Drive
(using the Apple installer/utility disc), or better to just proceed
with the Tiger installation and select for my previous Apple OS 10.2.8
to be automatically "archived" during the Tiger installation?
I would assume that the "Zeroing out" process would be the best, even though
the actual process of "Zeroing" the Hard Drive takes quite a long time.
Any suggestions on the best way to prepare the Hard Drive for the Tiger
    installation would be appreciated.

  • What is the best way to produce different report types out of the same SSRS Report

So I have a request to produce different report types based on a "Line Of Business" Parameter that is provided. I know that SSRS sometimes struggles with gathering the Metadata based on IF Statements.
What is the best way to provide multiple different report types with different data based on the "Line Of Business" Parameter that is provided? Can I simply do this via the SQL Stored Procedure? And how so that the Metadata is collected correctly?
Just don't know what the generally accepted business principle is on this and how to go about doing it.
Thanks in advance for your review and am hopeful for a reply.

    Hi ITBobbyP,
Per my understanding that you have create an parameter (Line Of Businiess) to get diffetent types of report, I would like to confirm with you want do you mean about the different report types?
Is that mean you have table and one column named Report type, you want to filtered on this column? Or the report type you mean is like Parameterized reports,Linked reports,Snapshot reports,Subreports and so on.
If want you want is through the selection of the parameter to change the report type(Parameterized reports,Linked reports,Snapshot reports,Subreports ..),currently it is impossible to acheive this.
If you still have any problem, please try to provide more details information about your reqirements, the sampe data in the table, the report structure you have designed and so on.
Any problem, please feel free to ask.

  • Best way to get an .avi file out of a Final Cut Project

Should I export it from the Timeline as an .avi, if so what compressor and settings should I use?
Should I export it as a Quicktime movie and convert it to .avi from MPeg Streamclip, if so, what compressor and settings should I use for best effect?
(note: I have tried one of each, for some reason the Streamclip one came without audio and the one I exported from FCP turned out really pixillated with poor quality.)
    Big thanks for any help

Use Export from within fcp>QuickTime conversion.
Choose Windows Media from the format.
    Configure from there.
Most likely the standard settings will be good enough - watch the size choice tho' - if you want web sized stuff you have to tell it.
Otherwise it'll give you web compression on your full frame size. You might not want that ..

  • Which is the best way to pull cr's to dispute under 30 day period, not the 45?

Been rebuilding for some time, but new to forum. I'd like to pull all 3 cr's and be able to correct/dispute but under the 30 day turnaround period.  Don't want to give them any extra ammunition.  I've read here in forum about credit check total.  Is that accurate on reports and scores?  Worth it?...or call them up individually and pay for it?  I've done so much, I can't recall if I've used my free annual ones, but not interested in that if it gives them 45 days.  I don't think I've used the free ones yet. Get dizzy trying to remember. Ideas/Methods appreciated. Thanks

Ok, Just finished ordering all 3 individual reports.  CSR's are pretty sneaky trying to get me to take the free one.  Guess I was entitled to it.  I had to repeatedly correct them and tell them to charge me.  (Normally not telling or insisting a company to charge....felt weird).  Transunion came back on the call and sneakily said it was processed and there was no charge.  I went back and forth and they insisted by law...they could not charge me.  After further discussion, they simply said they could not account for the way the other two bureaus responded or handled it, but that the 30 day dispute time-frame applies even to their free report.  They insisted.  What else could I do at that point.  So now I have all 3 reports coming my way.  We'll see how things look, now that I'm getting more personally active in this process....once again. The time they have to process a dispute has no relation at all to whether you got a free report or a purchased report. It has to do with how the dispute is submitted. Disputes submitted by mail have 30 days plus 5 business days for mailing the results. Disputes phoned in have 30 days. Disputes submitted electronically (don't ask me why, I have no clue) have an extra 15 days.

  • Best way to transfer a List Object into a view object?

    Hi Guys and Gals,
I'm working with some 3rd party code. This code queries a 3rd party database and returns the data into a List like so:
            PlatformSessionContext context = webutils.getPlatformContext(accesstoken,accessstokensecret,realmID,dataSource);
         QBCustomerService customerService = customerService = QBServiceFactory.getService(context, QBCustomerService.class);
List<QBCustomer> customers = customerService.findAll(context, 1, 100);What is then the best way to populate a view object with that list? I would think I would need to do a couple of things ...
    1) Map the QBCustomer's fields/getters to my ViewObject attributes somehow ...
    2) Iterate through the List and sync the QBCustomer field values to the VO rows/attributes.
Am I on the right track? What do you think is the best way to accomplish this? I've come across populating a VO via XML here (How do I implement an HTTP Get which returns XML into a View Object? ). Should I look for this QBCustomer.class's query and XML?
This is all a little over my head. Any help would be appreciated. Using JDev 11.1.2.2.0.
    Thanks,
    Will

    Hi,
bets is to do it similar as in https://blogs.oracle.com/smuenchadf/resource/examples#134
In this sample, a list of selected keys is passed to a custom method exposed on the ViewObject. In your case you need to make sure the QBCustomer class is known by the ADF BC project. Then from the custom method, you create new rows in the VO and populate the attributes with values from the QBCustomer object. The method can be dragged from the data control palette (as a parameter form) or manually create in the PageDef (method binding). The latter case requires you to reference an object holding the list of QBCustomer

  • What's the Best Way to do an Audio Fade-In or Fade-Out

I'm trying to figure out the best way to do an audio fade-out, other than placing a keyframe at the start of the fade, them placing a keyframe at the end of the clip and dragging it down to zero. It's hard to quickly place a keyframe at the end and know for sure it's at the very end.
In previsous versions of Premiere, I had trouble plading a keyframe and keeping it at 100%, just by placing a keyframe it would also adjust the level most of the time.  This seems to be less of a problem in CS4, but is there a way to be certain of inserting a keyfram at the current level. (A quick way.)
In general, there's got to be a quicker way to do a fade out or in!
I have Premiere Pro CS4 with a Matrox RTX2 card.
There are only three audio transitions:
    Constant Gain
    Constant Power
    Exponential Fade
I can't seem to make any of them work, cannot drag them over to an audio clip.

    Eddie:
I had seen those instructions before.
They say: To fade out a clip’s audio, drag an audio transition from the Effects panel to a Timeline panel so that it snaps to the Out point of the audio clip.
When I try to drage one of the three avaialable audio transistions to a clip:
    Constant Gain
    Constant Power
    Exponential Fade
    Nothing happens.
    WAIT.
I think I've got it now.  The "Snaps to the Out point" part.  Damn.  There was no visual feedback during the drag to indicate something was happening.
    OK.  (Whew.)
    Thanks!
