BEx Analyzer Drop Down Maximum Number of Dislayed Values

Is it possible to adjust the maximum of 100 (Properties of DropDown>Selection>Maximum Number of Displayed Values)? I have searched the API and i could not find that setting in there. Is there a hardcoded global setting that can be changed?

Hi Jon,
If you are using 7.0 version. Place dropdown in workbook and click to get properties. On Selection Tab you will get maximum number of displayed values. Select the number.

Maximum number of filter values in BEx web

Hi
Is it possible to change the maximum number of filter values displayed when running a query?
Example: When the user runs a query and has to put in a material number, he pushes the button which shows him the possible values for input. The number of values displayed per page is 14 and the maximum number of pages is 72. The maximum number of values is 1000. If the user tries to search, he only searches amongst the 1000 possible values. Is it possible to change the number of possible values shown to unlimited?
We use NW04s BI SP09.

I have the same problem , the maximum number of hits si set to 200 , ant the variable contains over 300 values , it is a variable based on a time charactersitic , and the values appear in ascending order , i mean the first 01.1900 , and the last value 03.2012 . i wonder if there is a way to change the order of sort to descending order . I mean the first value 03.2012 and the last one 01.1900 . I attach the image .

Table TZC37 field STATU search help drop down is not pulling any values?

In table TZC37 field STATU(Contract status) search help is not pulling any values( drop down list when execute the table values) .. but the table has values for this field.
And also I checked in the configuration, this field has values in the config also. But still the search drop down is not getting any values.
Can any one knows what could be the reason and how to solve this issue?
I am using this field in transaction FNVS when searching loan number based on Status field.

Value table for this data type - STATI is TZC37.
While getting records from these tables(TZC37 or VDARL ) I am trying to use drop down values for searching data using this field SSTATI. But its not showing any drop down values. It supposed to show what ever values exists for this field right?
I checked in the cofig of this table and values exists for this field.
Any help appreciated.

How to show first parameter value in drop down list as a default value dynamically in ssrs report?

in my ssrs report i have two parameters, accounts and Manager ,there is a cascading between the accounts parameter and manager parameter, as per the cascading we will get managers names based on the account we selected in the accounts parameter,
my requirement is the first name in the mangers drop down list has to get selected as default value.
please help me with this, it is an urgent requirement.

According to your description, you want to use cascading parameters in the report, if the accounts are selected when you preview the report, the first manager name will be selected from drop down list as the default value. If so, there can be two scenarios:
• If manager is single-valued parameter, we can get Available Values and Default Values from the same query as below. Then when the accounts are selected, the first manager name will be selected as default value.
SELECT managerName FROM table_name WHERE accounts IN (@accounts)
• If manager is multi-valued parameter, we need to use different query for Available Values and Default Values. In this case, please refer to Patrick’s solution.

Want to hide the drop down based on text field value

Hi,
I want to hide some of the values in drop down based on one text field value.
I have the field called name which has the value A, B, C, D and also one drop down list which has the values 1,2,3,4,5,6. I want to hide the some of the values in drop down based on A or B or C. Let say, If it is A, drop down value should be 1,3,5. If it is B, Drop down value should be 1,2,3,4. Like this for every record.
Can you please help me out.

I am trying it in two different way. Please suggest which is the right one and feasible.
1) I have the drop down list which has all the status. I am trying to hide the drop down values based on one text field value for all records.
2) I have collected all the drop down values into table in webdynpro method. Rightnow I have two tables.
one has line items details and another one have drop down values. both tables having common fields.
I have to show second table values for that particular key, move all of them to drop down.
Which is the best and feasible option.

Maximum number of "Single values" accepted in "Multiple Selection"

Hello gurus. I wonder if you could help me with this.
You know how in transactions like the Data Browser (SE16), you want to look up records in a table, for example MARA.
If you want to list only individual values, then you can press the yellow arrow to the right of the fields, and this opens the "Multiple Selection" window. In it you can add single values, ranges, etc.
My question is, what is the maximum number of single values that you can put in here?
For example, sometimes if I put like 5000 lines, instead of getting a result I get an ABAP runtime error that reads:
Runtime errors DBIF_RSQL_INVALID_RSQL
Exception CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB
"Error in the module RSQL accesing the database interface".
But if I put around 1500 or less, then I don't have that problem. It lists the results just fine.
How do I know what the maximum number of lines these functions allow?

Maximum number of field values for an Authorization object

Hello Experts,
What is the maximum number of field values can be put into the role, Is there any restriction for number of values in any authorization field?
I have put 326 values for field OBJTYPE in authorization object S_DEVELOP but not able to generate the role it is showing error.
I know I can split the values in two or more instance but wanted to know if there any other way out for this (without creating more instances)

If the values for OBJTYPE are not uniquely the same, then the system will not merge them - so nothing will be lost.
Here is another trick for you: Choose one of the transactions in the role (or create a "symbolic" one for it") where you want to have the OBJTYPE proposed automatically from. Now maintain one or two of them in SU24 and then download it to your PC. Now from the F4 value range of the OBJTYPE, add all of those values you want via copy&paste into the file and then upload into SU24 again. A read old / merge new in PFCG will then swing all the values in for you.
Single values are always better, as you do not know what else is hidden in the range or might be added in future. It is however common to see FROM / TO ranging around values such as DEBUG and FUGR although all aspects of S_DEVELOP are dangerous - even in display mode.

Using dropdown box on BEx Analyzer 7.0 only shows at most 99 values on dimension filtering.
Is it possible to extend that number of values?

How can I use two drop down lists for one time value?

I want to enter the length of time that someone does an activity in hours and minutes using two drop down lists, then enter them as a single time value (H:i:s) in Mysql.
I've used the basic drop down lists, and a few different variations of the following with no success (seconds is a hidden field with a value of "00"):
GetSQLValueString(strftime('%H:%i:%s', strtotime($_POST["sleeptimemin"]." ".$_POST["sleeptimehr"]." ".$_POST["seconds"])), "date"),
This returns 00:00:16, no matter what is selected on the drop down list.
Any help would be appreciated.

Drop down list in Table Control - Value disappeared after pressing ENTER

Dear Gurus,
I have a problem in one of my development where I used a table control in which one field is a drop down list.
I used VRM_SET_VALUES and VRM_GET_VALUES for populating the values from the programand not use any domain level value table for that field.
My problem is when I select one value from this list , and pressing enter , the value get disappeared. But if I use a domain for this field with value table then everything working properly.
My doubt is am I doing some miss coding or using the VRM_ function modules improperly ?

How do I configure a dynamic table with Data-Drop Down selections to store separate values?

I am attempting to use LiveCycle to create an Order Form that uses an ODBC to a SQL database. When a user makes a selection, a separate column in the table references the "Item #" associated in the SQL table, and generates a corresponding barcode.
My problem is that when I select an Item from the drop down list, all the items in the table change. What am I missing here to separate the rows as different line items? I tried adding a [*] to the end of the connection string, and that allows me to select different options but does not generate the "Item #" or "Barcode" field.
The screenshot below shows the basic form. When I select any of the data drop downs, all of the Items change.
I used the auto generated script for the "Add Row +" button shown below. Is this my issue? Or do I need to alter the way I'm setting up the Data Binding in for my Data Drop Down?

Drop-Down menu not retaining selected value

I'm using LiveCycle Designer ES 8.1.1 with LiveCycle Forms and I render my forms in HTML. When Google Chrome or Safari are the user's browser the drop-down menus do not retain their selected value when going from page to page. For example I have a state drop-down on page 1. The user selects Ohio and then continues on to page 2. Then the user goes back to page 1 and the state drop-down now has Alabama selected. If the user is on IE there is no problem.
Any help would be much appreciated.
