Bex Analyzer Toolbar in Excel

Hi,
I have a customer usind Bex Analyzer (Excel) for reporting.
Does anyone know or maybe someone had to do it already if there is a <b>possbility to "grey out" buttons on the Bex Analyzer Toolbar in Excel (e.g. the "tools" button or the "settings" button)?</b>
I would appreciate any information on that very much.
Thanks for your help
Christian

Hi Christian,
If you want this function to run when a workbook opens, you would put the code in the code window of "ThisWorkbook".
Tools >> Macros >> Visual Basic Editor is a good start.
If the Project Explorer window is not visible, then use View >> Project Explorer (or Ctrl+R) to make it visible.
Locate your workbook in the Project Explorer window.  It will be named something like VBAProject(xxxxx) where xxxx = your workbook name.  If the workbook was opened from the BW server, the name in parentheses might be something like xSAPtemp1234.xls.
If you see a "+" to the left of the VBAProject name, then click to expand it.  You should now see at least two folders under the VBAProject name:
+ Microsoft Excel Objects
+ Modules.
Expand the Excel Objects.  Under the Microsoft Excel Objects heading, you will see icons representing each of the worksheets in your workbook, and an icon that is named ThisWorkbook.  That is where you would want to put the code if you want it to run every time that the workbook is opened.
Select the ThisWorkbook icon, right-click, select View Code.  The code window should open on the right side of your screen.
As an example, to execute the "test3" subroutine when the workbook opens, you would use the code below:
Private Sub Workbook_Open()
    Call test3
End Sub
The code for test3 subroutine would be added to either a new (Insert >> Module) or existing Module.

    Hi all,
i am in excel 2007 and when i open a query in analyzer then i got a ciritical pop up,,sayin program needs to be terminated. do anyone have any solution?

    Hi,
you can ask your Basis and Network Person to install these patches on your system. SAP patches can be downloaded from service market place / solman (these days). And rest will be available on Internet. You can also visit service.sap.com for more details (you need logon id for this).
    1. goto service.sap.com/bi
    2. expand "Product Information SAP NetWeaver 7.0 - BI"
    3. expand "BI Business Explorer"
    4. click on "MS Operating System & MS Office Compatibilities with BEx"
there you'll find details about MS Operating System & MS Office Compatibilities with BEx.
    Hope this helps.

  • Start Excel 2007 without BEx Analyzer 7.0

    Hi there,
I use Excel 2007 and if I start "Excel 2007" the Analyzer 7.0 starts automatically. Does anyone know how I can start Excel without the Analyzer? It seems that it's no AddIn (*.xla like Analyzer 3.5) but an *.exe.
    Thanks for any help,
    NIcole

    Hi,
Go to BEx analyzer -> Global settings and there untick 'Start BEx Analyzer When MS Excel Starts'. That should stop it.

    Hello,
R u working as Security consultant or BI developer.
If you are a BI developer you dont have access to Auth objects S_RFC.
If you are security consultant you have access and to look where for S_RFC.
I dont know how your roles organaized. But try this way.
    1. gO TO TRANSACTION  SUIM
    2. select ROLES.
    3. Under roles select Roles by Complex Selection Criteria.
    4. Under this go to 4 th box Selection by profiles and Authorization Objects
    5. enter S_RFC in Authorization Object.
and execute. Then you get all the roles in which S_RFC is there.
Then see the roles of the user for whoom RRMX does not work.
and match the role to the selection criteria and make the changes to S_RFC in the role.
    generate role and save.
If you are not security consultant u dont have access to any of these.
Consult u r basis or security team and tell them to check the values of S_RFC.
Getback if u have any questions.

  • Disable BEx Analyzer in BPS layout

    Hi gurus,
how to disable BEx analyzer toolbars in BPS manual layout?
I mean: when i open BEx analyzer AND in another window a BPS0 layout system opens BEX analyzer even in layout, sometimes changing colors ecc..how to avoid BEX in bps layouts?
    tks
    Michele

    Hi Michele,
In the manual planning layout, you can right click on the toolbar and cancel the "Business Explorer". Secondly, go to change layout for your manual planning set your display layout to SAP ALV Grid instead of Microsoft Excel.
    Hope it is helpful.

  • BEX Analyzer 3.5 Expired Certificate / Digital Signature

    Hey Everyone,
Are any of you experiencing this? Expired Digital Signature issue for BEX Analyzer (sapbex.xla).
We are on SAP GUI 7.10 patch 8, and BEX 3.5 Add-On patch 4. When users
go to launch the BEX Anlayzer or open broadcasted reports, they get an
error saying Digital Signature is Invalid or has Expired.
This is because of the certificate that is provided with SAPBEX.XLA, expired on 3/6/09.
I looked into relavent notes 492364, and 929716 which come with older certificates. We do not want to enable macros completely.
    Thanks!
    Imran

    Hi Imran,
After Opening your Bex analyzer or in Excel
Excel goto -- tools macrosecurity--Security level Tab --choose *Medium* option after setting this open your bex analyzer again you will get a pop up for *enable or disable macros* you can choose disable macros,
now you will be able to open the Bex analyzer and run queries
IF you are not still able to use or if you dont want *enable macro / disable macro* pop up then use
    this setting,
Excel goto -- tools macrosecurity--Security level Tab -- choose Low option
you will not get any pop ups and you will get the select query option.
    Hope this solve your issue.

  • BEx Analyzer Design 7.0 toolbar visible in Excel 2010, but not working

I use Microsoft excel 2010 in my PC. I installed patch for BI710 below. However I can not use any BI7.0 toolbar after installation.
    bi710sp08p_801-10004472
    bi710sp11_1100-10004472
    BI3.5 toolbar is working fine.
Does anybody know how to fix this issue?
    Many thank!
    rajatina.

    Hi Rajatina,
We move from 3.5 to 7 sometimes back. We encounter similar issue where we have 3.5 and 710 in the same mechine. What we did, we uninstall both, and only install 710. and it works fine.
But for few cases, i did see user who has 3.5 and 710 can still use the BEx analyzer. So, i guess some installation sequence on something needs to be observed. But for our case, since we move to 710, we remove the 3.5.
    Hope this helps.

  • Problem opening BEx Analyzer Workbook (saved in Excel 2007) in Excel 2003!!

    Dear all:
I know there are threads about this issue and numerous support tickets have been provided, but we still can't get any Excel 2007 Query to be opened by Excel 2003.
I have tried to save Excel 2007 BEx Analyzer Query into 97-2003 XLS format. But when we reopened (by both Excel 03 and 07), it prompted the warning messages and broke down the query workbook into several sheets with scrambled data. What am I missing here...? According to the support ticket, it seemed pretty straightforward just by saving the format to 2003 XLS, but in reality it just doesn't work as "advertised"
    Thank you...!!!
    Brian

I have the solution for this.
    It works to my environment.
    Follow the steps :
    1. you must open the xlsx workbook from Bex Analyzer.
    2. Save As workbook locally to your PC for excel 97-2003
(Not "save as" from bex Toolbar but from      excel)
    3. Now save that workbook with Save As->Workbook from Bex Toolbar into your BI database.
Now go to detail properties of your workbook and there you can see the format xls for your workbook.
    Good Luck

  • Excel 2002 with BEx Analyzer NW2004s

    Hi,
can I use Excel 2002 with BEx Analyzer NW2004s? I read somewhere, it is possible only with Office 2003. It's true?
    Thanks!

Hi, for some reason the BI FAQs on SDN are not up-to-date. I will investigate and make sure they are refreshed asap.
You always find the up-to-date FAQs on SAP Service Marketplace /bifaq. There you see the correct answer:
Which versions of Microsoft Office are supported by SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) BI Business Explorer (BEx)?
BEx in SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) supports MS Office 2003 and Office XP, SP2 (this includes Excel 2002) based on GUI 6.40
BEx in SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) supports MS Office 2003 based on GUI 7.10
For information on planned support for Windows Vista and Office 2007 (based on GUI 7.10) please check the Functional Enhancements Schedule BI in NW7.0 (2004s).
    There is
no support for NW 7.0 (2004s) BEx Tools on MS Office 97
no support for NW 7.0 (2004s) BEx Tools for Office XP (Excel 2002) in combination with GUI 7.10
no support for NW 7.0 (2004s) BEx Tools for Vista in combination with GUI 6.40

  • Cannot open query in Excel (BEX analyzer)

    Hello Experts,
Issue: Cannot open the BEX report in Excel but can open the same report on IE.
    1) I am trying to open a BEX report "ReportA" in Excel (BeX Analyzer).
    2) As soon as the report opens it shows me a message "Do you want to open the 3.X workbook for upgrade"
    3) I click on "OK"
    4) then i get a message window listing a lot of warnings liike " Access to project denied"  "creation of items failed"
    5) i click on "OK"
    6) Now, variable entry screen appears
    7) i enter values and click on "OK" the report does not show any data.
Now, the same report "reportA" when i open it in Internet Explorer, it displays data. What can be reason for this problem in BEX analyzer ?
    Please comment.

    Hi Suraj,
If you want to execue your query, you can use the bex analyzer.
If you are opening the query from query designer 3.x query in 7.0 fronend, it will get upgraded and then cannot be reveted.
In your case this automatic migration might be havng some issues, owing to complexities.
    Please recheck.
