BI Query Iview transport

Hello,
I was asked to post the question here.
I would like to know how to transport a query iview being used in the portal from Dev to QA and so on.And i mean the IVIEW, not the web template.
Please assist
Thanks

Ronit,
It is no way different than transporting other iviews.
go to system administration -transport-export-create a transport package(right click on the folder where you want to create the package)-right click on the view which you want to transport and add object to package. and click on export option.finally you will get the option of downloading the .epa file.
download it and go to target system-system administration-transport-import-select client and upload the epa file

  • Difference: SAP BW Report iview - Query iView - URL iView

    Hi,
I want to show BW reports on the portal. Can anybody suggest me the different ways of doing it ? And also let me know about checklist of steps that need to be performed.
Can anybody tell me the difference between showing BW reports through URL iviews, showing reports through Query iView and showing reports through SAP BW Report iView ?
Which one can i use for showing BW reports taking into consideration the implementation of SSO between the two? I tried the URL iView (using the Web URL of reports generated by BW) but it asks for Username/password. Is that the problem with SSO. How can i check if SSO parameters have been set or not. I have imported the verify.der to BW System and added that to ACL. Is there anything else which is required?
    Thanks in advance.
    Rgds,
    MA

    Hi Manoj,
I feel BW report iview will solve your problem. You can create a query sting in BW query designer and give the same in BW query  string text area while creating BW report iview.
In the case of an url iview you are just giving a URL link of the BW report (this will ask for username/password).
But, in the case of a BW report iview you can view the required query as an iview (user mapping can be successfully done in this case) You should give fully qualified domain name in Was server option while creating the system.
While using the logon ticket Login id of both the system (ie BW and Portal) should be the same.
Refer the link for SSO using logon ticket)
    User Mapping-based Single Sign On

  • How to create a Query iView based on user's parameter?

    Hello,
I've created a Query iView which depends on a Costumize parameter that the user enters - On stage 5 of the wizard I've entered a customize parameter on a certain field and called it "user_param". The wizard entered the Query: WHERE... = {$user_param}. So far so good...
My question is, after creating this iView, how Do I implement it at the Portal so the user will have a place to enter his parameter and receive the result?
when opening the Query I don't see such place. According to SPA's documentation, the user should enter the parameter at the "personalize" menu. When I put this iView in a page and open the "Personalize" menu there is no such place.
Which further configurations should I do in order it to work?

If you open the iview, there should be a personalize property or setting for the URL parameter. Make sure that it is set to read/write. I just got off a portal project where I did a few of these, but I don't have access to one right now, so I can't give you the exact steps, but you should get the idea.
    Good luck,
    Tom \

  • BEx query iView in Portal

    Hi All,
I am trying to create a BEx query iView in EP 7.0 and my BI system is BI7.0.
I am refering to the following <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/33/39fa40ee14f26fe10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm">LINK</a> for this but I am not able to get the value for "bookmark_id" from the URL which is generated when I execute the query in standalone mode.
    My URL is

In my iView I have made following settings in BEx query string
    <b>template_id=0ANALYSIS_PATTERN&infocube=0D_DECU&query=0D_DECU_Q0011</b>
I am getting following error when I preview the iView.

    Dear Luciano,
I referred to the note you have suggested and as per the note, I need to install BI-JAVA on my portal system to access BI content.
Please see this <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/thread?threadID=410737">FORUM</a>, it tells that with single sign on between portal and BI system you will not require BI-JAVA on EP if it is already installed on BI system which in my case is already done.
Kindly comment on the forum whether it is true or not.

  • Sap query iview error

    Hi there!
I have a sap query iview in the portal that should display a query in CRM (build with SQ01). The query in the backend is fine, but I get this error message in the portal.
"Error in Source. Message not available"
I have double-checked that the connection parameters of the sap query iview are OK, also I have run a DQE connection test on the system that was(see below) also OK.
    Any thoughts on this?
    Thanks in advance

    p.s. I reward points generously
    Test Connection through the DQE
      Test Details:
The test consists of the following steps:
    1. Checks the existence of a backend admin user ID/password in the system properties.
    2. Checks the existence of a default alias for the system.
    3. Checks the DQE connection.
      Results
    1. Backend admin user ID and password exist in the system properties.
    2. Default alias of the system exists.
    3. DQE connection successful. If you continue to experience problems, verify the DQE admin user ID and password properties for this system object.

  • BEx Query objects transported from Dev to Prod Test do not overwrite

    Hello,
I'm migrating BEx queries that were developed in a Dev instance and then packaged and imported into a prod test environment. The queries that already exist in qual are not overwritten with the changes, and the transport imports successfully. New queries import just fine and without issue. I'm not sure if this is a problem with how I am packaging the query for transport or some level of pre-work that is not being done in Prod test. Basis has confirmed that they are allowing re-writes when Importing.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.
    Matt

    Hi ,
Whenever we create a query in the System it generates reference ID's ( ELTUID,SELTUID,COMPUID etc) in backend.
For e.g.if you create a query in your quality system (Z_TEST) it will have a COMPUID generated for it (e.g ABCD).
Now when you create a query in Dev system (with the same technical name Z_TEST) a new COMPUID will get generated (e.g EFGH)
So when you transport Z_TEST to QUALTY ,it will create a new entry against COMPUID.thus having two instances of the same query. So best option would be to delete the old instance after transporting the new instance.
    This wil solve your problem.

  • EP6 and BW Query iView - unwanted logon screen - Help please

    Hello,
I have a BW Query iView.
I noticed that EP6 authentication works for query contents (logon method to BW is UIDPW plus user mapping) but I get an unwanted auth login window as soon as static content arrives from BW.
I mean... the query is coming from http://mybwhost:8000/sap/bw/BEx (and no auth logins are shown) but when requests for static content like
http://mybwhost:8000/sap/bw/Mime/BEx/Icons/checked.gif start then I get one.
I think is a BW setting (shall /sap/bw/Mime/* be set without authentication?)
    Any further hints are welcome.

  • Query on Transport

    Hi Experts,
I have a query on transports.
Suppose in the landscape for DEV Quality and Prod Systems.
I have a report program ZREPORT without any includes in all the three systems.
Now i have defined an internal table ITAB in ZREPORT and released the Transport TR1 to Quality System.
ITAB definition doesn't contain any includes of DDIC structures.
Now in the second transport TR2 request i have looped ITAB in the same ZREPORT and released the transport request to Quality and production.
Now in the production we have imported only TR2 and not TR1.
My question is does the whole ZREPORT in production is overwritten by the latest version or only the changes in TR2 (loop of ITAB and not ITAB declaration) of ZREPORT will be imported in production and cause a dump in production.
    Please clarify.
    Thanks in advance.
    Neha.

    Hi Neha ,
See there is only one prog which are u dealing with right.
So TR1 also has same prog which may contain the declaration of ur itab and tr2 has logic whwre u have used the same itab .
    So incase u move TR1
then the logic where u have looped that itab will not reach the PRD but incase u move TR2 then since the prog already has the declaration will goto PRd.
so in ur case TR2 will suffice .
But as per the rule Make it a point to move every request to PRD in the same sequence as u have moved to Quality or pre-PRD.

  • SAP BW Query iView not working.

    Hi,
We have a WB Query iView which displays a Report correctly on the Portal. When the user right clicks and selects a menu (a dialog appears which changes the currency settings) and clicks ok he gets "Internet Explorer cannot display the web page" Error occurs. This particular report seems to work for some users and not for others.
    Please Help.
    Thanks

    Hello Prasad
I am reporting succesfully on WEBI 4.0 on BEx queries with Characteristic Restrictions (if I understand correctly SAP have changed the name back again to WEBI). My experience so far with BO4 is that you need to place a lot of calls to SAP to iron out some of the teething problems, so I suggest that you rairse a note with SAP to get direct support from them.
So I suggest develop in WEBI and get SAP involved to iron out the error messages.

  • Query iView does not display DB2 tables

    Hi All,
I'm trying to connect to a DB2 database and have created a System object for that. When I'm creating the Query iView, in the third step when I select the node for my JDBC system, "Loading..." is displayed but nothing happens after that.
I have tested the connection for my system and it's working properly. When I go to Metadata Loader in DQE, I can see the schemas for my system but not the tables (in the left pane).
Any ideas on how to solve this problem?
    Rajiv
    PS: I'm on EP 6, SP 16.

    Hi Antony,
Upgrading from SP7 to SP9 fixed a lot of problems for me! It's worth trying.
    Problems solved for me:
Page requests take about 2 minutes to display page (now within a few seconds)
KM SQL logging (30-50Mb per minute) problem fixed.
There are some problems upgrading to SP9, but searching this forum will help you in finding some solutions for this

  • Creating jdbc System based Query iView

    Hello SDN,
I tried to create a Query-iView based on a jdbc system. So far so good everythings working fine, except in Step 3 of the iView wizard i can't see all dbo Tables of the MS sQL Server 2000 Database i wanna connect to. Actually i get the first 100 Table entries.
Question is: Is there any way to to show all the table entries in the iView wizard?
    Every hint is appreciated
    Portal Version is NW2005 SPS15
    Thanks in advance
    Markus

    Hi Saravanan,
we are facing the same problem but unfortunately there is no search field in step3 of the iView wizard, and therefore it seems to me that there is no opportunity to select a table that is not included in the first 100 Table entries.
Of course I could develope an iView by myself and deploy it to the portal, but the goal of a query iView is in my understanding to create such a ResultSet quite easily.
Is there any other way i could show all the tables in the wizard?
    Thanks.

  • Query iView Does Not Display Sql Server Tables

I have a system connected to a SQL Server (2000 Enterprise) and the Connection Tests works properly.
When I start to create a Query iView, I get to the point where I must select a JDBC system and select tables from it. When I select the tree node of my system, it displays "Loading ..." and then this disappears and nothing is displayed for this system.
Funny thing, I can create a Stored Procedure iview for this system, and it displays the available stored procedures.
    Any ideas of the problem?
