BI-spreadsheet addin errors

Oracle EE 9.2.0.6.0
OLAP patch-set #3948480 (9.2.0.6.0 olap) applied
BI Spreadsheet Add-in:
I get 3 errors when I try to connect to the database using the spreadsheet addin. Here are the first lines of the error msgs:
1) oracle.dss.metadataManager.common.MetadataManagerException: BIB-10701 Error occurred in connection to metadata.
2)
oracle.dss.connection.common.ConnectionException: BIB-16627 Cannot connect to the database.
3)
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-37111: Message 37111 not found; product=RDBMS; facility=ORA
; arguments: [unknown]
ORA-06512: at "SYS.OLAPIBOOTSTRAP", line 0
ORA-06512: at line 1
Any ideas on getting around these please. Thanks.

Error 37111 indicates that the instance is in shared-server mode, but the OLAPI sharable library was not preloaded (which is required in shared-server mode). Try setting parameter xsolapiload_at_process_start to "shared_server".
This message does not indicate an operating system. If you are on Red Hat 3.3 or higher, you must also either switch from shared-server mode to dedicated-server mode or disable the Linux 'exec-shield' feature that randomizes sharable library load addresses.

Email Spreadsheet format error

Hi,
i tried to send a spreadsheet creating on my ipad2 but when i choose the format of the attachement as excel it begin the convertion but just after it stops and a popup message shows: "An error occurred while creating the attachment".
It's strange because it happens only to 1 file.
Does anyone has suggestion?

You are asking about Numbers for iOS in a forum dedicated to Numbers for OSX.
Maybe you inserted an illegal character like a slash in the file name.

Excel addin error

Hi,
I am using EPM 11.1.2.2 and I have office 2010 and excel addins 11.1.2.2. While retrieving I am getting the below error. I tried the solution provided in the link "http://oraclebrasil.wordpress.com/2011/11/09/error-essbase-has-encountered-an-internal-excel-error-when-retrieving-in-excel-with-essbase-excel-add-in-11-1-1-3/" but since I am having around 500 columns I am loosing the the columns after 256 while saving it as 'Excel 97-2003 Workbook’ .
Error: “Essbase has encountered an internal Excel error. Your sheet will not be overwritten and none of your data will be lost. However, you are strongly urged to exit Excel and restart in order to clear up the problem”
Can you please advise.

Think about using Smartview (since you are having 500 columns, that's too many columns if you ask me). Or split your sheets in such a way that it has only 256 columns.

Import Spreadsheet returns error

Hi,
I'm trying to import excel spreadsheet. For one file it works and for another it doesn't.
On examination I found that the one that doesn't work has got filters applied on some of it's columns. Is this the reason that it doesn't work.
Can anybody please let me know if that is the reason then is there any workaround.

I could not reproduce your issue. I did a test as the followings:
Create a excel , and insert a tabel
Type some value for this tabel
Filter the value on two columns
Save the excel
Create a Import Spreadsheet list using the above excel file
After creating the list, all values of the tabel in the excel displayed in the list.
What data did you use for the Import Spreadsheet list?
Which error did you meet when you imported the problematic excel file?
Please try create another excel containing same data with the problematic excel, then import it, compare the result.
If this issue still exists, please check the log file to find more information about this issue.

Numbers spreadsheet load error.

Hello guys,
a have a problem with one of my spreadsheets in numbers. I have it stored on my iPhone 4 and iPad 2 through iCloud.
When I tried to open it on the iPhone a message popped up:
"Spreadsheet couldn't be imported.
An error occured."
Since then the spreadsheet does'n exist on my iPad, and on iCloud.com, only on the iPhone but it doesn't open.
I have to say that don't own a Mac or MacBook.
It's an important spreadsheet for me.

Wish me luck, I threw it out... I got a backup if i need it but I got sick of seeing it in console every 10 seconds.

Array to Spreadsheet suppress errors

Is there a way i can supress errors from an Array to Spreadsheet node.
If the file is open and it cant write to it then it creates an error box and the VI stops running until you click continue. I simply want it to ignore the error and keep running without writing to the spreadsheet.

Since this is not a low level File I/O VI, it does not have error terminals in/out. I would suggest you to use a low level VI set, like the "Open/Create/Replace File", Write to Text File", and the "Close File" VIs. In this way you have more options to catch and handle the error.
Or you can modify the high level "Write to Spreadsheet File" VI to have error terminals in and out (and deleting the pop-up terminal from inside)... But NEVER ever modify&save an original LabVIEW system VI, first save it under a different name and location!

Outlook itunes sync addin error

After installing iTunes 7.3 I tried to launch Outlook 2003 and it crashed. I relaunched Outlook 2003 and got a message that said "Outlook experienced a serious error the last time the addin 'outlook itunes sync addin' was opened. Would you like to disable this add-in?"
When I disable the add-in my iPhone won't sync with my Outlook contacts, calendar, mail, etc.
I understand that this add-in is required for iPhone sync with Outlook, so I am in a bit of a catch-22.

Apparently what we need to do is add iTunes to the Data Execution ignore list. How to do that you ask?

After adding iTunes to the Data Execution ignore list, just re-enable the confounded addin as detailed in above posts. Hopefully this will solve this **** problem once and for all. Good luck!!

Appleworks Spreadsheet Saving Error

When using Appleworks 6 Spreadsheet, we tried to save the file as an Appleworks 5 Spreadsheet and received this message: "Off sheet references will not be saved". The formulas are not saved in the Appleworks 5 file.
What are off sheet references?

Off sheet = not on sheet
If your document contains references to cells in another spreadsheet, those references will not be preserved in the AW5 copy.

HE641 Excel Addin error

Has anyone come across the following error? It happened when one of the users waas using Hyperion Analyst.

In windows there are two types of variables Local and System. As the name suggest the Local is available to only user who creted it. While the System is available to all but only admin can edit it.
The issue is that the environment variables are set as Local environment variables and not as System variable type.
So check whether the System variables found in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE (system var) hive or HKEY_CURRENT_USER (Local var). Make those variables available in (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE) reg parameters not in other one.

Essbase spreadsheet addin on Excel 2010

Qns: Does essbase (11.1.2.2) excel addin works on MS excel 2010 (32 bit) (without running Tim's cmd file)?

Yes it does run on Excel 2010 32bit, sometimes you may need to make changes to environment variables such as the path but you shouldnt need to launch Excel from a script.

"GetImage" addin error

Hello there!
I have Adobe Acrobat X Standard 10.1.3 and Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007.
Each time I employ WORD and press INSERT TAB, I got following error window:
If I press OK everything works fine. However, I dislike it!
I already re-installed OFFICE and also ADOBE.
What else I could do??

Hi Andrés,
Could you try turning off the Developer tab and see if the issue persists?
Start Word.
Choose the File tab, and then choose Options.
In the categories pane, choose Customize Ribbon.
In the list of main tabs, uncheck Developer.
Choose the OK button to close the Options dialog box.
I'm wondering if there's some sort of conflict there.

 BTW, Spreadsheet Services does have more VBA functions, so if the API calls you are using are covered in the expanded VBA functions, you will be fine.. Otherwise, you may have some issues porting your code. Tim

Hi all,
I tried to retrieve the members in the spreadsheet addin client and I am getting the error as follows:
Essbase error: You do not have sufficient access to perform a lock on this database.
But Iam trying to do only a retrieve operation. Essbase version is 9.3.0.1.02 and OS is windows XP.
Also under Essbase->options->Mode tab, the check box update mode was unchecked.
I was able to do the operation before without any error and suddenly Iam facing this issue.
Can anyone help me on the above

HAL 9.3.1 Essbaes Adapter Error

We recently migrated from Planning 3.5.1 to 9.3.1 and are still using HAL. In several of our Integrations we were able to pull in the new adapters (Planning 9.2 and Essbase 9.2 - we had to use this older Essbase adapter because the newest version wasn't working). And most of my integrations run fine.
However, I have one integration for HAL that is failing on a Dimension extraction step with the message:
Flow ID: 'getMetaActProd'
Adapter ID: 'Essbase2--GrProfit'
Error Message: com.hyperion.essbaseadapter.application.ap.APException: Exception #1: error code - 1033: Essbase Error: native code - 1060000
Most the time we don't get this detail but a 'C++ exception' message and the integration stops (usually when we run this from it's executable). Sometimes running the integration from the executable gives us the other message above - wierd.
Anyway, I go into the integration and run this and this steps is pulling about 4,000 part numbers into an Access database -we're comparing part #'s from our outline to parts that come in through a data source. The integration gets to about 3,000 or so and then looks like it freezes up and we get the above message.
I have basically the same integration running on a smaller applicaiton/database and it gets through this step OK. So, I'm at a bit of a loss here as to what I can check. I suspect the adapter was fine because I have integrations the get into Essbase and load and calc' data and all that fine. But this step on our larger database is bombing.
Anyone have any ideas?

Error 109: MaxL API instance not active

Hello Gurus,
I am using EPM 11.1.2.1 and I am getting the following error while trying to expand the Essbase server from EAS console.
Error 109: MaxL API instance not active
Following are some steps that I have followed:
1. Checked the environment variables which are set properly
2. Logged to oracle support and checked for the documentation related to the error but no results.
3. Moreover I am not able to connect to essbase server using Essbase Addin from Excel - This works after uninstalling and reinstalling Excel Spreadsheet addin
I am using MS Office 2007 SP2
4. When it connects to the essbase server from the excel addin, it does not expand the essbase server from EAS console and this happens vice versa
What I want to know is if there is something that I am missing.
Any help will be appreciated.

When you say you logged into Oracle Support did you find "Expanding on the Application Node in Essbase Administration Services (EAS) Errors with "Error: 109: MaxL API instance is not active" [ID 1357482.1]"
