BI SYSTEM UP/DOWN

Hello,
Where can I  find the BI 7.0 system down/up  information like when the system was down?
When it restarted information?
Thanks

Hi Sachin,
On your <sid>adm's home there should be the log files:
stopsap_<hostname>_<system_number>.log
startsap_<hostname>_<system_number>.log
Additionally you can check the DB logs:
$ORACLE_HOME\saptrace\background\alert_ORASID.log
Hope this helps..
Amit

  • System Slow-Down After Printing

I recently installed Mountain Lion. Over the last couple of weeks I have noticed a significant operating system (10.8.2) slow down after printing with my Epson R3000 printer. This happens after every printing session. When I say slow-down I mean significant delays and dreading "beachballs" when opening applications, selecting menu items or anything else I should choose to do. I'm left with re-starting the computer to get going normally again. After re-atarting I have gone to "verify permissions" and I get approx "5" pages of permission errors, all associated with the printer library in some fashion or another. I then repair all those permissions and re-start my MacPro. The operating system then works as normal and I can use the computer with no problems (until I start printing again). I mainly use the computer for photo editing with Adobe Photoshop CS6, Adobe Lightroom 4 and Aperture 3.2.
I did not have this problem before upgrading to Mountain Lion (and then to 10.8.2). I did not get "significant" permission errors before upgrading. Since all printer drivers for this printer are handled now by Apple via the "new" Software Update process I can't even re-download the Epson printer driver and start over. I'm completely at a loss as to what, associated with the printer function, is causing these "significant" permission errors and subsequent operating system slow down. My printer is almost brand new and was working flawlessly before Mountain Lion. Let me be clear though, I can print fine. My problem is the system slow down after using the print function which I am only guessing has something to do with the "5" pages of permission errors after printting photos (with CS6/Lightroom/Aperture).
Incidently, I am not in any way a computer expert. Verifying and repairing permissions is about all I know how to do that's why I need help. I also just thought I would try the forums first before going to technical support to see what people thought about this.
Again, I repair the permission errors, re-start my system and all is fine. Any further suggestions would be deeply appreciated.

When you see a beachball cursor or the slowness is especially bad, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.
These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Scroll back to the time you noted above.
Select the messages entered from then until the end of the episode, or until they start to repeat, whichever comes first.
Copy the messages to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.

  • PSE 10 system slows down when adding files to catalog

I recently switched from PSE 3 to PSE10 and had issues converting the catalog.  I never did resolve those so I decided to start with creating a new catalog in PSE 10.  My first session of adding photos worked fine.  When I restarted the task the next day, I was asked in participating in making the product better by sharing information about my use with Adobe.  I agreed to participate and very quickly noticed that my computer slowed considerably when adding photos from my hard drive.  The process still worked but I experienced a dramatic increase in the time it took for photos to be added (e.g. the cursor spins for a couple of minutes while the task is working).  I went under my account preferences and opted out of the product participation program but the problem has persisted.  I rebooted the computer to see if that would help but it has not.  I have turned off all media analysis and both optimized and repaired my catalog and while this has provided some improvement, there are still instances where the system slows down.  Now it seems that every other folder's worth of pictures (does not matter how many photos) I add causes this delay.
I appreciate any help anyone can provide in determining why this slow down keeps occuring.
FYI, I am running a new Windows 7, 64-bit system with 8GB DDR-3-1066MHz, and 2 TB hard drive.

Have you also edited the Preferences (Performance) to increase the amount of RAM that PSE can use?
Do you have many background processes running?  Having a single HDD means that everything running on your computer has to wait in the queue for disk access.
How many photos are you importing?
What file types are the photos?
    How large are the photos?

  • RE: Trade-In System repeatedly down for over a week, causing me to miss sale.

    To Whom It May Concern,
I wanted to express my frustration with the difficulties I’ve had with the Video Game Trade-In service at store locations #266 and #274. Last week, there was a sale where you could trade in used video games for an extra 50% store credit. I had several Playstation 4 games that I had wanted to exchange (Madden 15, Last of Us: Remastered, Knack, Infamous: Second Son, and Fifa 14) to take advantage of this opportunity.
The first time I tried to exchange these games at store #266 last week, I was informed that the trade in system was down and that I should try again tomorrow. The next day I tried again and I was informed that, yet again, the system was down. Two days later, I tried again at the same store and was told the system was STILL down. After this I immediately headed to store #274 to try to turn in my games and was informed that the system was down there as well.
Today (almost a week after my last attempt to exchange these games), I tried to turn in my games yet again to at least get some store credit but, after waiting in line for half an hour, I was informed that the trade-in system was down again.
Fed up, I went down the street and exchanged my games at the local Target and picked up a new game there. I didn’t get the best deal, but I was able to accomplish my transaction without a hitch.
I understand that technology can be unreliable and systems can crash, however, I feel that 5 separate attempts at 2 different stores over the course of more than a week (causing me to completely miss the promotion) begins to get a but ridiculous. The staff, while all very courteous, told me that there was no work-around or anything that they could do. I think it would be wise for there to be some sort of fail-safe system in place if such. I would have even loved a simple deduction of the trade-in value of my games off of my immediate new purchases, for instance. However each time they told me this couldn’t be done. As a result, I took my business elsewhere.
I just wanted to express my frustration and disappointment with Best Buy and their trade-in system, which unfortunately caused me to miss out on a very good promotion, and caused Best Buy to miss out on my business. I hope that the trade-in system is updated and it’s obviously problems are addressed so that other customers won’t have to go through the frustrations I have.
    Thank you for your time.
    -Kevin D.

    Hello Kevin-
Having worked in the gaming industry for another company that does trade-in’s on games (but will remain nameless), I really love that Best Buy is able to offer some great amounts and promotions for trading in games.  Obviously, that doesn’t mean much to you if you are not able to participate because of system issues.
I apologize that these system issue meant that you ended up missing out on the 50% trade-in bonus.  In some situations, stores were able to utilize a different register to process this, but for some, they simply had to wait until it was fixed.  Because we have to follow many state, county and city ordinances to provide this service, we generally cannot provide a work around when systems fail.
I am able to report that we believe we have corrected the issue and that our stores should be able to trade-in again.  However, I would recommend calling the store first to make sure that they are up and running if you have a distance to travel to the store.
Thanks for letting us know your situation.

  • What to do if the target system is down for async scenario

    Hi All,
What all recovery options we have in XI if the target system is down for very long time
    in async scenario ??
-> Can we configure any alerts which will send mails with the failed message details if the
target system is dowm for very long time.
If this is possible, will there be any links in that mail which will allow the
alert mail receiver to 'resend' the failed message once the target system is up ?
    We are on nw2004s SP9.
    Can anyone help.
    Thanks in Advance
    Regards,
    Chemmanz

Can we configure any alerts which will send mails with the failed message details if the target system is dowm for very long time.
Yes we can send Alters from XI  . let clarify one thing here alters are triggred immedaitely when their any failure in Adapter or mapping or etc then immdeaitely it is sendt so theirt is no such things  for  this "details if the target system is dowm for very long time". it does not differencate it long or short.
If this is possible, will there be/can we configure any links in that mail which will allow the alert mail receiver to 'resend' the failed message once the target system is up ?
chekc the blog for alter step by step from Michal

  • Adobe Bridge CS4 Hangs and whole system goes down.

Adobe Bridge CS4 Hangs and whole system goes down.
This is happening when I just finished edition RAW files in ACR and hit DONE, right after that a Bridge hangs, Cannot open Explorer, PC functions are down, cannot start anything, cannot stop Bridge process, cannot properly restart. Only holding power button shuts donw PC forcefylly.
I happens once per 10 edits of RAW files and super annoying.
    Pleeeeease help!

No wonder I think this is Bridge.
That is indeed a tempting thought, have you already tried the refresh preferences for Bridge using ctrl key pressed down while restarting Bridge?
But Bridge is very critical in reacting on odd system behavior, so also keep the advice of Station-Two in mind. On a Mac repairing permissions often solves problems, don't know the PC equivalent of this.

  • Compleat system slow down after current updates

Has anyone learned why we all seem to have a compleat system slow down after the current set of updates? Everything works, but is VERY slow to respond. Even iTunes 7.1.1 plays video choppy now. Audio track plays fine however. Odd.
    -Apple //GS

First of all, try repairing your permissions with Applications> Utilities> Disk Utility. Select the hard drive you're running off of and then click the Repair Permissions button.
If that doesn't work I'd do an archive and install:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107120
Then run the combo update(s) instead of the consecutive ones. That seems to be working for a lot of people, but it will probably take a while.

  • System slow down after lion update 8/18/11

Has anyone else had a problem with their system slowing down after downloading the system update for Lion on 8/18?  My system is not nearly as responsive and is only about two weeks old and have not installed any software other than Microsoft Office 2011 when I bought the machine.  Any ideas?

Ok my system is booting and shutting down faster now.. This method worked for me:
    First, I repaired the permissions:
    1) Open up Disk Utility
    2) Select your hard drive
    3) Now select Repair Disk Permissions.
Then, I deleted the caches folder:
    1) From the Finder's Go menu, select Go To Folder, and go to this folder: /Library
    2) Delete everything inside the Caches folder (This might require the Admin Username & Password)
Finally, go to System Preferences and click on Startup Disc then click on your boot drive (In my case I've selected my HD labeled "Macintosh HD Mac OS X, 10.7.1". Now do a restart by clicking on the Restart button. If you don't have a Startup drive selected your mac will waste time at boot searching for a suitable boot drive !
I Hope this works for you as well.
    Cheers!

  • System shut down during F110 payment run

During the F110 payment run, the PRD system shut down. There were 259 items in the proposal and according to the status 42 posting orders were generated and completed. What is the process to handle this problem? Can the payment run be re-started?
It appears that clearing documents were created for some open items before the system shut down but no checks are showing in the check register. Has this happened to anyone before and what steps should be taken to resolve this?

    Is it a matter of...
    1. deleting the output of the payment run,
    2. deleting the proposal
    3. canceling the the payment check by check using FCH8 if any occurred
    4. reseting and reversing the clearing documents created using FBRA before the system shut down
    5. start a new payment run

  • Auto System Shut Down

Currently I am trying to put together a new computer. I have all the parts needed, and they are compatible. I put everything together, double/tripled checked all connections. when i try to turn it on, it runs for about 10 seconds, then just shuts off. ;(  I'm running it bare, i have no monitor, keyboard, mouse, and sound connected. I just turned it on barebone.
    I am using:
    K7N2 Delta-L Motherboard
    AMD 2800 Benton
    2x 512 kingston Ram sticks
    80gb 7200rpm hard drive
    floppy
    DVD drive
    CD/RW drive
    350watt enermax power supply
I have tried taking one of the ram sticks out and turning it on, it didn't work.
I tired getting a new 350watt antec power supply, it didn't work.
    WHAT ELSE CAN I DO?!?!  ?(  ;(
Once again my problem is that the system shuts down automaticly after I turn it on. It will run for about 10 seconds then... it's down again.
    PLEASE!! SOMEONE HELP!!  ;(

CMOS is the chip that stores ya bios info like date, time and cpu settings etc.
It's the 3 pins bellow the small round silver battery.
On my K7N2-L (non Delta) it's jumper JBAT1
It as 2 settings 1 = keep data (normal use)
                     2 = clear data
look at following X = jumper position o = empty pin
    Keep data
    O
    x
    x
    Clear data
    x
    x
    o
after clearing cmos (do it with power off on PC or u will fry it) u will then need to setup bios again.
If this still wont boot have a look at jumpers J10 & J11
    J10 sets cpu fsb mode
    J11 sets cpu fsb frequency.
Look in ya manual it's in there.
Try to get PC to post by setting J11 to
    J11  o     J10  o
         x          o  J10 not bridged = 100mhz
         x
J11 safe mode cpu fsb 100mhz.
It will post then. Just the cpu will be set to a lower speed then it is.
If it posts go in to bios and hit set bios default then bridge  J10 making it 133/166 mhz and J11 x
                                              x
                                              o  this sets J11 to default 133
reboot and it should post good cpu speed.
Hope u understand all this junk i just wrote

  • CCMS not sending e-mail when system is down

I have installed solution manager 4.0 and configured it as a CEN to handle all CCMS alerts from our SAP systems (ECC5.0, BW, etc), these systems all have CCMS agents install and configured. The configurations work no problem. We get automatically notifications on a lots of events -- such as shortdumps, responses time, system log errors, etc. However, we never get e-mail notifications on following two situations:
    1. System down -- when one system is down, we can see it availability is going to 0% on solution manager but we did not get e-mail, I am using MTE class "Availability_SysPercent_ABAP",  it should send e-mail when it below 60%. But it never did even it's 0%. Also tried several other MTEs, but none of them work.  Is this because when system is down, CCMS not work any more or something else?
    2. Job cancel -- I am not what MTE class to use in order to send e-mail when some jobs are cancelled.
    Any help are greatly appreciated.
    Yujun Ran

I don't know if this is correct but my Execution is "Any server" and it works.
I assume you copied the same method for your central AR method. The person earlier who mentioned clients may have something. I don't use the CCMS_OnAlert_Email_V2 method so I'm not sure but I think the parameters need to have a user in 000 with an e-mail address in the user master in order to send. I don't think this is any different for the Central AR method which works for you so probably not the problem but double-check. I use the CCMS_Send_Alert_to_ALM_V2 method so my config will be a little different.
Is SAP_CCMS_MONI_BATCH_DP scheduled in CEN? Mine is in the working client but again, not sure if it matters.
Does the AR method you have assigned show up in RZ20>>Change mode>>View>>Method allocation?
Is the send job in SAPCONNECT scheduled, I believe it behaves differently with local and central AR's.

  • What are the effects on BW when R/3 system is down?

    Hi BW Experts,
What are the effects on BW system, when R/3 systems are down for maintenance?
And what care we need to take towards BW during the down time?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Sunil.

    Hi Sunil,
when R/3 system is down the BW daily loads & weekly loads will fail.
the best solution is you can reschedule the job when R/3 is Up.
You can cancel the running jobs by going through
SM37 -- > select that particular job --> JOB (in menu bar) --> select released --> schedule option.

  • Retry logic for TCPIP eway, when backend system is down

I am a newbie in JCAPS. My requirement is to read a text file and then send it contents through a socket connection to backend system. The stream retrieved back from backend system (via socket connection) is to be stored in Oracle DB.
    My Approach:
I am using Batch eway to read file and then send the contents to a JCAPS queue. I then have a JCD which reads this Queue and establishes connection with socket, the read contents are then written to Oracle.
    I have 2 questions:
    1. Is this approach correct? Do you recommend any optimized/better way (considering the requirement)?
    2. If the backened system is down, wont the messages in queue be lost? How can we make sure that messages are delivered whenever backend system comes up?
    Thanks,

    Rajan,
You need to pick up a local file and shove it into an oracle database??
For a reliable system, I would recommend a JCAPS project that consists of:
2 JCDs, one doing the batch file get and the other doing the Oracle insert
1 JMS queue between the two JCDs (if your database connection goes down, or if something else goes wrong, your messages will be safe in this JMS queue)
I can point you towards some tutorials from Sun if you need help on this.
