Bios Dynamic and fixed

Just had a quick question about the Switching of the dynamic and fixed graphics. When it is on dynamic it is using the Intel gfxs and when it is on Fixed it is using the 6770m correct? Everytime i want to use the 6770m for like BF3 do i have to restart my computer and go into bios to switch it to Fixed? And if i want to use it for causal use like email and searching the web do i also have to switch it back to dynamic?

  • Matrix report with dynamic and fixed columns

    Hi all,
I have a matrix report which has dynamic as well as few fixed columns.
It is a fixed asset Report in which the sum(cost) in cell should be grouped according to column and row-wise.
The row consists of the activity such as additions, retirements etc and the dynamic column is the category and other fixed columns such as CIP cost, CWIP cost will be grouped only according to row.
the actual layout should be like this
                     | category 1 | category 2 | category 3 ...... | CIP cost | CWIP cost
    Additions    | Sum(cost) | Sum(cost)  | Sum(cost)  .......| 1234      | 4500
retirements | Sum(cost) | Sum(cost)  | Sum(cost)  .......| 1000      | 2500but due to fixed colums in the layout the report builder pushes the fixed colums to the next row with single query i get
                     | category 1 | category 2 | category 3 ...... |
    Additions    | Sum(cost) | Sum(cost)  | Sum(cost)  .......|
                      CIP cost     | CWIP cost
                       1234        | 4500
    retirements | Sum(cost) | Sum(cost)  | Sum(cost)  .......|
                      CIP cost     | CWIP cost
1000        | 2500if i try to add those columns alone in a seperate query and then build the report i get the layout like this
                     | category 1 | category 2 | category 3 ...... |
    Additions    | Sum(cost) | Sum(cost)  | Sum(cost)  .......|
    retirements | Sum(cost) | Sum(cost)  | Sum(cost)  .......|
    CIP cost     | CWIP cost
2234        | 7000This is my query, i have used union to get the row-wise column activity

    Hi all,
I have a matrix report which has dynamic as well as few fixed columns.

  • Bios updated and now K8N Neo won't boot? FIXED!

Successfully restored from backup (after some hassles!), but thanks to everyone who helped.
Having messed with the bios some more, I *think* I now know what the problem was.  And *blush*, I think it was my fault all along *blush*.
I think I had one of the drives selected at the top in Hard Disk Boot sequence, instead of the SCSI - Raid Array.
That would mean it was only reading half the MBR at boot time which would kindof explain the problems I was having.
Still, we live and learn.  Thank God for backups!
    Cheers all
    Chippy
I hope someone can please help me?
I just upgraded my K8N Neo2 bios from 1.4b to Easybios 1.3c (or whatever its called).
I took all the proper precautions and the bios update itself has worked just fine. My system is "working" OK.
However, I can't boot. The system POSTs fine, detects the raid0 array just fine and then falls over with an MBR 1 error and an MBR 3 error.
I booted from the XP install CD and loaded up recovery console, and I can log on to the array. The array and all data is fine.
So it looks like its just the MBR record that is screwed. Is this because of some incompatibiliy between my old and new bios?
And anyway, please does anyone know how to fix it? I suppose I can try to rebuild the MBR somehow, but I don't know how. And I really DO NOT want to risk losing all of the data on the array. Yes, I have a full back up, but I don't want to end up having to rely on it!
Has anyone seen this problem before when doing a bios update? And any ideas how to fix it?
(I guess I could flash back to 1.4b, but I really would like a later bios version to go with my new - as yet untested - Opty 146).
    Thanks

Thanks for the tip, Doc.  But I have entered the bios settings from scratch.
I can try it again, but why do you think that might work?  There really aren't two many sata and raid settings to make - all you have to do is enable the two channels (sata3 and sata3) and then enable them also in the raid menu.  That's it.  And the board "sees" the raid array just fine, its just it won't boot anymore.  I can read and write to the array no problem from Windows Recovery Console, so I conclude that the hardware is all working properly.  I think its an MBR incompatibility issue between the two bios versions... or maybe MBR corruption.
I seem to remember some people having problems with this a year or so ago when upgrade this bios from 1.4 to 1.5.  Some people were having to do complete Windows reinstalls to fix it.  That was why I didn't update my bios sooner.
But I asked around this time and it seemed those problems had been resolved.
    Seems I was mistaken!
    Any other thoughts / suggestions?
    Thanks

  • CR 2008 and BOE XI 3.1 patches and fix pack?

I'm installing Crystal Reports 2008 and BOE XI 3.1 on windows 2008 server, can anybody tell me which service pack and fix I need to install for each product?  When I looked under both product, there are so many of them.  Any help is appreciated.
    Regards,
    Susan Johnson

I have done much testing over the past several months with BOE 3.1 and different patches.  I've yet to find a combination that would allow us to be on a relatively recent patch level but that does not have a significant issue that support cannot resolve.  We started with 3.1 and FixPack 1.8.  This has actually been the most stable so far.  We were planning to convert our production environment from XI r2 to 3.1 in August and thought it would be better to be on a more current patch level so we added SP2 and FixPack 2.6 on the advice of support.  Just before beginning yet another round of testing for these additional patches, SP3 was released so we added that too.  We then found a significant issue with scheduling Crystal reports that had both dynamic and static parameters.  You can't enter the prompts because they don't display the correct LOV.  Support advised that this issue was fixed with FixPack 2.7 so we installed it.  It does indeed resolve the Crystal schedule issue but the issue returns if you install SP3.  SP3 only includes up to FixPack 2.5 and whatever code was fixed in FixPack 2.7 was not rolled into SP3 so I would caution you against using that combination if you have Crystal reports with mixed parameter types and want to schedule them.  We then removed SP3 and have most recently tried SP2 with FixPack 2.7.  In this version, you cannot schedule Webi reports when going through one of the dashboard analytics (vs. the standard folder navigation).  You get a 404 error when you try to populate the prompts.  We have about 2,000 users that rely on a dashboard for navigation so needless to say, we can't go live with this issue.  I would love to know what the best patch level is for 3.1 but I wouldn't recommend SP2 or SP3.

Hi CB, i'm very appreciating your effort to solve my problem
I tried your way to press OKR key when my laptop is Off.
What i got is, i go to my win10 logo. Not to bios one
And when i'm on my desktop, there's no other thing than my ordinary desktop.
FYI, before i get the win10 logo, i got the black screen with F2 to bios and F12 to select boot order. But i prefer not to press it.
Its just like the same with pressing power button to power on my laptop.
Any idea how to solve it CB ?
I'm familiar with laptop stuff. So maybe you can show me how i fix it myself.
    Big thanks CB
Just a couple of questions to clear up my understanding of the situation - bear with me.
Before you installed Windows 10, did the power button respond normally and were you able to see your BIOS pages?
Also - when you installed / upgraded to Windows 10 was it a "clean install" or did you follow the upgrade path?
If you were able to operate the notebook with the power button prior to installing / upgrading to Windows 10 I would try booting from a "live DVD" for Linux (Mint / Ubuntu / Fedora) to see if it works in that situation.  If it works as expected in Linux then we have a Windows OS issue to deal with.
If you performed a "clean install" of Windows 10 it may have wiped out the factory partition (hidden) on your hard drive and going back to factory settings may not be an option.
    Cheers.

  • How do I Help Apple Care Stop Warring with Each Other and Fix the Problem with My iPhone that They Acknowledge Creating?

How Do I Help Apple US & Apple Europe Stop Warring With Each Other And Fix The Problem They Created?
    PROBLEM
Apple will not replace, as promised, the iPhone 5 (A1429 GSM model) that they gave me in London, UK, with an iPhone 5 (A1429 CDMA model).
    BACKGROUND
My iPhone 5 (A1429 CDMA model) was purchased this year in September on an existing Verizon Wireless (VZW) line using an upgrade. The purchase took place in California and the product was picked up using Apple Personal Pickup through the Cerritos Apple Retail Store. I will refer to this phone at my "original" phone.
The original phone was taken into the Apple Store Regent Street in London, England, UK on November 15, 2012. The reason for this visit was that my original phone's camera would not focus.
The Apple Store Regent Street verified there was a hardware problem but was unable to replace the part.
The Apple Store Regent Street had me call the US AppleCare. At first they denied support, but then a supervisor, name can be provided upon request, approved the replacement of my original phone with an iPhone 5 (A1429 GSM model) as a temporary solution until I got back in the US. And approved that the GSM model would be replaced with a CDMA model when I came back to the US. I will refer to the GSM model as the "replacement". They gave me the case number --------.
The Apple Store Regent Street gave me the replacement and took the original. The first replacement did not work for reasons I do not understand. They switched out the replacement several times until they got one that worked on the T-Mobile nano SIM card that I had purchased in England, UK. Please refer to the repair IDs below to track the progression of phones given to me at the Apple Store Regent Street:
    Repair ID ----------- (Nov 15)
    Repair ID ----------- (Nov 16)
    Repair ID ----------- (Nov 16)
The following case number was either created in the UK or France between November 15 to November 24. Case number -----------
On November 19, 2012, I went to France and purchased an Orange nano SIM card. The phone would not activate like the first two repair IDs above.
On November 24, 2012, I went to the Apple Store Les Quatre Temps. The Genius told me that my CDMA phone should not have been replaced with a GSM model in the UK and that this was clearly Apple's fault. They had me call the AppleCare UK.
My issue was escalated to a tier 2 UK AppleCare agent. His contact information can be provided upon request. He gave me the case number -----------.
The UK tier 2 agent became upset when he heard that I was calling from France and that the France Apple Store or France AppleCare were not helping me. He told me that my CDMA phone should not have been replaced with a GSM model in the UK and that this was clearly Apple's fault.
The UK tier 2 agent said he was working with engineers to resolve my problem and would call me back the next day on November 25, 2012.
While at the Apple Store Les Quatre Temps, a Genius switched the phone given to from repair ID ----------- with a new one that worked with the French nano SIM card.
Also, while at the Apple Store Les Quatre Temps, I initiated a call with AppleCare US to get assistance because it seems that AppleCare UK was more upset that France was not addressing the issue rather than helping me. I have email correspondance with the AppleCare US representative.
A Genius at the Apple Store Les Quatre Temps switched the replacement with a new GSM model that worked on the French SIM card but would not work if restored, received a software update, or had the SIM card changed. This is the same temporary solution I received from the Apple Store Regent Street in the UK.
By this point, I had spent between 12-14 hours in Apple Store or on the phone with an AppleCare representative.
Upon arriving in the US, I went to my local Apple Store Brea Mall to have the replacement switched with a CDMA model. They could not support me. He told me that my CDMA phone should not have been replaced with a GSM model in the UK and that this was clearly Apple's fault. My instructions were to call AppleCare US again.
My call with AppleCare US was escalated to a Senior Advisor, name can be provided upon request, and they gave me the case number -----------. After being on the phone with him for over an hour, his instructions were to call the Apple Store Regent Street and tell them to review my latest notes. They were to process a refund for a full retail priced iPhone 5 64BG black onto my credit card so that I could use that money to buy a new iPhone 5 64GB black at the Apple Store Brea Mall to reoslve the problem.
The Apple Store Regent Street did not process my refund. He, name can be provided upon request, told me that the AppleCare US did not do a good job reviewing my case, that they were incapable of getting to the bottom of it like they were, and instructed me to call AppleCare US and tell them to review this case number and this repair id. I asked if he read the notes from the AppleCare US Senior Advisor and he would not confirm nor deny. When I offered to give him the case number he accepted but it seemed like would do no good. Our call was disconnected. When I tried calling back the stores automated system was turned on and I could not get back through.
Now I have the full retail price of an iPhone 5 64GB black CDMA on my credit card and Apple will not process the refund as they said they would.
I've, at this point, spent between 14-16 hours at Apple Stores or on the phone with AppleCare representatives, and still do not have the problem resolved.
    SOLUTION
AppleCare US and AppleCare Europe need to resolve their internal family issues without further impacting their customers.
Apple is to process a refund to my credit card for the cost of a full retail priced iPhone 5 64GB black.
    DESIRED OUTCOMES
I have an iPhone 5 (A1429 CDMA model) that works in the US on VZW as it did before I received the replacement phone in the UK.
Apple covers the cost of the solution because I did not create the problem.
Apple resolves their internal issue without costing me more time, energy, or money.
This becomes a case study for AppleCare so that future customers are not impacted like I have been by their support system.
Does anyone have recommendations for me?
    Thank you!
    <Edited by Host>

Thanks, but I've been on the phone with AppleCare US (where I am and live) and AppleCare UK. They continue bouncing me back and forth without helping resolve the problem.
Perhaps someones knows how to further escalate the issue at Apple?

  • Windows Vista, Itunes 10.7, ipod Classic, scan and fix message - why?

I am trying to connect my wife's Ipod Classic to our Windows Vista computer.  I get a Scan and Fix Message for the Ipod from Windows.  I don't let it scan and click continue.  Itunes is frozen and won't recognize the ipod.  This has happened since upgrading to Itunes 10.7.  Also Itunes is choppy in playing all video content since upgrading to Itunes 10.7.
I have checked system requirements and driver upgrades.  So far I have no fix.  One site recommended turning off WiFi sync for all devices in Itunes.  But of course the device must be connected, and mine won't connect.  All my itunes video is languishing.  :-(

Wi-Fi sync won't apply since you have an iPod Classic and it doesn't contain any Wi-Fi hardware.
To get rid of the Scan and Fix error, see this page: http://www.yourlocaltech.com/resolve-vista-scan-and-fix-error-when-plugging-in-i pod-or-other-devices/
    We'll start there for now.

  • The difference between "ipsec-isakmp dynamic" and "ipsec-isakmp profile" cyrpto map configs

The IOS documentation for the crypto map command gives the syntax as
    crypto map [ipv6] map-name seq-num [ ipsec-isakmp [ dynamic dynamic-map-name | discover | profile profile-name ] ]
I have a 881w ISR. In what different situations do we use the ipsec-isakmp dynamic form as opposed to the ipsec-isakmp profile form?
I understand that ipsec-isakmp profile is applied directly to the vpdn-group. Does this substitute for applying the crypto map directing to the WAN interface? Why would I want to do that?

    Hello, thomasmcleod.
The main difference between dynamic and profile in conditions to establish VPN connection. You can look at the difference if you compare EzVPN (dynamic profiles) technology with Lan-2-Lan (manual profile) technology.
And why you should put crypto map to the interface. After puting this command to interface Cisco is starting to check traffic for encryption rules. In fact it can be any interface (not only WAN) when you want use encrypted VPN channel.
    Best Regards.

  • Bios Flashing and Recovery

    BIOS FLASHING
We do not recommend using the MSI LiveUpdate tool to update your BIOS! It may be okay for updating your drivers, but please do not use it to flash the BIOS in Windows!
Windows-based flashing - If you REALLY insist on flashing the BIOS under Windows, if you encounter any error during flashing, whatever you do, DON'T restart your PC! Try again until the flash is successful, otherwise your board will not start! Disable any anti-virus program (along with any other programs) prior to flashing.
Boards with built-in M-Flash function - While M-Flash work's properly most of the time, it has still proved to be less reliable than the forum tool / manual flash.
Before flashing your BIOS, you must ensure your system is fully stable! Any instabilities can cause a bad flash and create an expensive paper weight. Included with the forum flash tool is MEMTEST, we recommend running this for 2 or more passes prior to a flash.
If you do not understand what your BIOS is, or what it does, please read: >> BIOS. What it is, and all you need to know <<
Our first choice we recommend you use is our own USB flashing tool, developed by Svet.
It is important to note, that the only way to flash the ME extension of the BIOS of modern Intel boards is through the use special processes. The bios versions posted by moderators here: >>BIOSes<< include the additional files to accomplish this. These bios are all official and are directly from MSI.
    >>>MSI Forum HQ USB Flashing Tool<<<
If you are unable to use the MSI HQ USB BIOS Flashing Tool

It is important to note that if any BIOS, EC FIRMWARE or any other type of FIRMWARE downloaded from MSI for a manual flash contains an BAT file it must be used. Not doing so will cause the flash to fail and require RMA.
For Intel Users, flash via FPT
         Socket LGA 1150           : >>ME 9 FPT files & Instruction>>
Many of the bios versions posted here: >>BIOSes<< Contain a .bat file. All you need to do is extract all of the contents of the archive into the root directory of a DOS bootable USB stick and run the bat file from pure DOS.

    Modified and BETA BIOSes
Use only at your own risk! All BETA BIOS versions posted by the moderators of this forum are directly from MSI and will not effect your warranty. The use of user modified BIOS versions may damage the board and may void your warranty. Exercise extreme caution in regards to user posted BIOS versions. WHEN IT ALL GOES WRONG...
    BIOS RECOVERY
In many cases, provided the 'bootblock' of your BIOS is not corrupted during a bad flash, the BIOS can often be recovered by following the recovery procedures detailed below. NOTE: this recovery method should not be followed for normal practice of updating your BIOS!
For Modern MSI Systems, refer to:
    <<Multi-Bios Equipped Mainboards>>
    <<Single-Bios Equipped Mainboards>>
    Legacy Systems:
     For Award BIOS
    Make a bootable floppy disk*
Copy the Award flash utility & BIOS file to the said floppy disk
    Create an autoexec.bat with "Award_Flash_Utility BiosFilename" in the content (e.g. awdfl823K w6378vms.130)
Sample on how to create an autoexec:
    a. On Windows, open the notepad
    b. On the notepad, write "awdfl823K w6378vms.130" (without the " ")**
    c. Save the file as autoexec.bat
Boot up system with the said floppy (it will take less than 2 minutes before screen comes out)
    Re-flash the BIOS & reboot.
*Need a bootable floppy disk? Look here: http://www.bootdisk.com
**Make sure you enter the correct filenames for your flasher program and BIOS ROM file!
     For AMI BIOS
Rename the desired AMI BIOS file to AMIBOOT.ROM and save it on a floppy disk. e.g. Rename A569MS23.ROM to AMIBOOT.ROM
Insert this floppy disk in the floppy drive. Turn On the system and press and hold Ctrl-Home to force update. It will read the AMIBOOT.ROM file and recover the BIOS from the A drive.
When 4 beeps are heard you may remove the floppy disk and restart the computer.
For new boards with AMI BIOS core 8 (4MB)
    Discovered by Jack The Newbie:
Of course, the steps are similar to the standard AMI BIOS Recovery Procedure for internal floppy drives (rename corresponding BIOS File to AMIBOOT.ROM, hit CTRL + HOME after starting the system).
What has to be done (tested on P45 Platinum):
    1. An optical SATA Drive needs to be connected to one of the Intel ICH10R SATA ports. {After a lot of testing, I found that it does not work with the same optical drive connected to the SATA Ports hosted by the secondary JMicron Controller.  Also, using an optical drive on the JMicron IDE/PATA port does not help either.}
    2. A proper BIOS File has to be renamed to AMIBOOT.ROM and burned on an empty CD.
    3. CMOS-Clear with main A/C power cable removed from PSU has to be performed. {If this step is not done, the system will reboot after pressing CTRL + Home and will not proceed with recovery procedure.}
    4. Press CTRL + Home to trigger BIOS Recovery.  -> The system should enter BIOS Recovery Routine. {Will basically work with both USB & PS/2 keyboard.  However, a PS/2 Keyboard is recommended as the system will respond earlier to PS/2 Keyboard than to USB Devices.}
    What should happen now:
    1. After pressing CTRL + HOME the LED Status should change to "Intializing Hard Disk Controller" and there should be access to the optical drive connected to the Intel ICH10R SATA ports.
    2. It can take up to 30+ seconds until the BIOS File that was renamed to AMIBOOT.ROM is found. {Drive Bay can be opened to try a different CD without turning off or restarting the system.}
    3. When the system finds the BIOS File, LED Status will change to "Testing RTC" and there should be a message on the screen indicating that the Flash Recovery Procedure has started.
    4.  Since the BIOS File is 4MB in size, it will take a while until the BIOS is actually reflashed.
Its also possible that BIOS recovery on boards with AMIBIOS8 can be done using a FAT-formatted USB stick, containing the renamed BIOS file. Be warned, in some circumstances it may take several moments before recovery procedure actually begins. See Bas' reply below for further information.

    BIOS recovery on non-UEFI notebooks
In order to recovery this type of system you will need an FAT32 formatted USB stick.
Download the applicable bios from MSI's website and rename this bios.
It must be re-named to either AMIBOOT.ROM or xxxxIMS.ROM / xxxxAMS.ROM  You may need to try each way to determine which one is necessary.
Then place the renamed bios onto the root directory of the FAT32 formatted USB stick.
Now you are ready to cover the Notebook.
To do this, remove the AC power cord and battery. Once that has been completed, install the USB stick you prepared earlier.
Now, apply AC power (leaving the battery disconnected) and turn on the notebook. Recovery should begin after 5 minutes.
    IF ALL ELSE FAILS...
Locate the BIOS chip on your mainboard. If it is soldered directly to the PCB like...
...then you have no choice but to return the board to your supplier, or to MSI, for replacement.
To request an RMA from MSI, open a support ticket at https://register.msi.com/ocss/
If your BIOS chip is in a socket, like...
...then you may be able to source a replacement BIOS chip, either from MSI, or from a website such as www.badflash.com

  • Purchase Order and Fixed Asset Module.

    Hi all,
I want to print my purchase order of fixed asset for record purposes.  But the thing, I can't link purchase order or any of A/P documents to my fixed asset.
Meaning, if A/P invoice has been added into the system, it will not update my fixed asset master data.
Therefore, I have to use PO for printing, since there's no way to print Fixed Acquisition as a document. By doing this, i need to maintain both Item Master Data and Fixed Asset Master Data with Fixed Asset items, which i find tedious.
Is there a solution for this, like perhaps there's a way to copy info from PO to FA acquisition, or Posted A/P Invoice that contains Fixed Asset item will be linked to FA Acquisition, or perhaps there's a way to print FA Acquisition (like a PLD) that i am not aware of?
    Please do help.
    Thanks upfront!

    Hi Kevin,
I am afraid to inform you that the print layout function is not
supported for Fixed asset transactions such as acquisition.
As you mentioned, if you want to use it as PO document, you will need to create PO in business one since no integration is realized between Purchasing in business one and acquisition in Fixed asset addon.
If you think this will have critical impact on your business process, please post your requirement in our SAP Business One Product Development Collaboration.

    Hi,
There is no standard report because this is meant to be managed by the MRP run.
The MRP lists show all materials that have a problem (such as stock below reorderpoint) but MRP generates requirements for these anyway and so all you need to do is to look for the MRP generated requirements (requisitions?) and you have your list?
    Are you using MRP?
If so then please use the standard functions in MRP to get this.
    If not, then WHY NOT?

I keep receiving this error every time I open LR, "Lightroom encountered and error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quit" and the app won't open. It said LR would try and fix this error next time I opened it but the error remains. I tried uninstalled and installing the app and the error remains. I have windows 8. Can anyone please help???

Use Windows Explorer to open the folder containing your catalog. The normal location is Pictures\Lightroom. Locate a folder with the extension .lrdata and delete that folder. Then you should be able to start Lightroom again, and Lightroom will begin building and new previews folder. Do not delete anything else.
