well i just got a 80 gb and you no how their is a black front and then the back of it is silver well the ipod well how the black front thing what ever well how it is sealed to the silver part well on the top of my ipod it isnt totally sealed and it is open a little bit will that affect my ipod with dust and stuff

ok so i got my iphone about aweek ago and decided to put some music on it. i put on i believe 791 songs and now when scrolling thru the album view will random crash back to home screen and it will happen everytime and not at the same spot or amount of time in that view. First of all, welcome to the forums. Are the songs ones you've ripped yourself? Are they AAC format? In other words, did you do anything special when ripping or getting these songs? Have you updated to the latest firmware release for the phone? If you can reproduce it every time, make an appointment with a Genius at your local Apple store and show them the problem. If may be a bad phone. Good luck!

Go to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn of either Invert Colors (iOS 6) or or White on Black (earlier iOSs).

The Videos are showed up front 4 months, but now they are no longer to be seen. When you star a video first the hard drive starts, but then it stops and hangs up. I have to restart it, starting with the apple logo....

Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc.

If you have a 2G iPod and did not have the iPod connected to a charging source it is likely that the battery fully drained before the erase was complete since it can take hours to do the delete.

HT201210 i tried updating my ipod and it told me to restore my ipod, i didnt know what that ment, i asumed it ment ugrade or update, so i tried restoring and it said there was an error, so because of this IOS page my ipod is stuffed

okay I'll tell you the whole story; okay, I had this "1" on my settings icon and in my updates, it said there was a new software, I read a bit about it, and it said I needed 50% and needed Internet connection, so I turned on our "wifi" box. it said I can install so I pressed it. and then the Apple logo came up in the middle of the black screen with a loading line below it. so I left it for about 1 hour or so, and came back and it was half way, so I left it again of the same amount of time, and when I came back it had the computer side of the white cord that you get with your IPod and an arrow pointing towards the ITunes Icon, so I guessed that I had to go to ITunes so I did, and it told me to restore my iPod, I didn't know what that meant so I clicked Restore and Update, and up the top of the screen it said it was "extracting" and then a alert came saying there was an error, so I I clicked "ok" and then my IPod went to a black screen and the Apple Logo appeared in the middle of the screen again, I left it for 1 hour and came back it hadn't changed, so I left it over night on charge and in the morning it hadn't hanged, so I took it off charged for the rest of the day, and it said it needed charge, so the black screen and the apple logo must have taken away charge, so as soon as I plugged it into the computer again, it went back to the black screen with the apple logo, so now it wont even let my reset my iPod, so now I have to see if it is fixable, if it is not I blame the instructions IOS resolving thingy, and get a new iPod or spend a lot of money fixing it, I would trade it, but I doubt my folks would let me, so thanks a lot, if you know any way of fixing my iPod please "please" PLEASE! help me, it would be greatly appreciated, if I don't get it working I may loose friends, because my iPod was for some of my best friends the only way I stay in contact with them. HT201442 Just bought a brand new ipod touch a month ago and went in to iTunes. There was an update for me so I downloaded it to my ipod and then it went into recovery mode. Tried to restore it in itunes but was told this device isn't eligible. Help!!

Just bought a new ipod touch a month ago. Went into itunes to burn music and had an update to download which I did. Then I get a message that my ipod has gone into recovery mode. It's locked up with a black screen with iTunes logo and picture of a plugin on the screen. Tried to restore it as recommended but itunes said this device isn't eligible for the requested build. Error codes 3194 and 17. This is very frustrating considering the cost of the ipod and how new it is. Now what do I do? Buy another one? Can anybody fix these types of things? Is this a common occurance or am I just unlucky?

Make sure you have the Latest Version of iTunes (v11.1.5) Installed on your computer
iTunes free download from www.itunes.com/download
Then...
1: Connect the device to Your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.

3: If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try using the Steps in this article to force the device into Recovery Mode.
Note on Recovery Mode.
You may need to try this More than Once... Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps...
Once you have Recovered your Device...
Re-Sync your Content or Restore from the most Recent Backup...

Try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.
There's more to try but let's go a bit at a time.
