Blackberry Notebook -- Red light STEADY, Green light BLINKS 5 TIMES, wont come on

Ive charged my Playbook for 30 minutes via computer. I tried cutting on the tablet and the red light came on STEADY, then the GREEN LIGHT BLINKED 5 times. It would not power on. I also tried cutting it on while plugged in and the same thing occured. I have tried resetting it by holding the + and - sign for 20 secs and no success. I bought the playbook from Radio Shack NEW in February.  Any suggestions?

You can Try this and let us know wich solution works...
If your battery is dead or near dead, you have a problem. If you follow these instructions you may be able to make a recovery but it will take some time.
The charger is controlled by software. The software will not run because the battery voltage is too low. When the battery is too low and you turn on the PB, It will only run for about 4 minutes and then shut down again. During this 4 minutes, the charger will begin charging but since the battery voltage is still too low, the unit will shut down again and the charger will shut off.
To get the voltage up sufficiently for the PB To continue, you have to have the charger plugged in and every 5 minutes or so, you have to hold the power button on until the red light flashes then release it.It will once again recharge for 4 minutes. You may have to repeat these steps at least 10 times. Once the voltage gets up a bit, the charger should stay on but it will takes 6 hours to fully recharge the battery. When your charger is charging, it will feel warm to the touch so check it often to see if it is in fact charging.

  • Steady green light on A1084. Airport Utility 5.6 says set up is complete.   Airport Express base station does not appear in the menu bar, so I cannot select it.  Is there a fix?

Steady green light on A1084. Mac OS X 10.7.5. IMac. Verizon DSL Actiontec GT704-WGB modem. Airport Utility 5.6 says set up is complete.   Airport Express base station does not appear in the menu bar, so I cannot select it and send a signal to airport express to play airtunes through my stereo amplifier.  Is there a fix?

I plugged a model A1034 Airport Extreme Base Station into the Verizon DSL Actiontec GT704-WGB modem with an ethernet cable and now the AirPlay icon appears in the Itunes window immediately to the right of the volume control and I can select it and play Airtunes wirelessly through the A1038 Airport Express Base Station in another room connected to a stereo amplifier by a Monster mini-to-RCA left/right audio cable running from the output jack on the A1034 Airport Express Base Station into the CD jacks on the amp.  The problem is that I have to select the Apple Network Airport Express Base Station as my network in order to select the Airport Express Base Station when I click the AirPlay icon, which means I have no Internet signal to the Imac. If I select the Airport Extreme Base Station or the Verzion modem as my network, then I have an Internet signal to the Imac, but the Airport Express Base Station is grayed out when I click on the AirPlay icon, so I cannot select the Airport Express Base Station and send tunes to the Airport Express.  It would be nice to play Airtunes while simultaneously accessing the Internet.  I don't understand your question about what program I am using for which I require AirPlay.  I am not learned about computers in general, and even less so about Macs than PCs.  I thought the program I was running was Itunes, and there was no separate program to run to use AirPlay for the purpose of sending a signal from the Itunes on the Imac to the A1084 Airport Express base station in a another room, and then out as described above to the stereo amplifier to listen to Itunes music remotely in the other room, without any kind of cable, wire, etc., connecting the Imac to the stereo amplifier.  I would guess that the most common use for the A1084 is to play Itunes through a stereo in another room without the need to run wires from the computer to the stereo.  I realize it would be easy simply to run a very long mini-to-RCA left/right audio cable across the floor connecting the Imac to the amp without the need to use AirTunes, Airplay or any kind of AirPort, but it would be both unsightly and a tripping hazard.

  • My old Dell is connected to the Internet thru a modem. My time capsule will only flash yellow from the same modem.  I cannot get it to oprate with steady green light

I have hit the reset button multiple times. I have moved the cables both on the back of the Airport Time Capsule and the Modem, without achieving progress.
I have followed the instruction in the Time capsule directions multiple times. and still cannot achieve the Green Light!
I am stuck and unable to sign on with my MacBook Pro that does not recognize the Time Capsule, because it clearly is not properly functioning.

How old is the TC? Is this the AC version.. then you are stuck.
If it is gen4 or earlier download the airport utility 5.6 for windows and use that on your Dell.
If you have ipad/iphone with iOS 6 or greater you can download the latest airport utility for iOS and use that.. it is much better apparently than the Mac version.
What OS is on the Mac?
It is well worth buying the Thunderbolt to ethernet adapter.. do you happen to already have it.. so you can plug in by ethernet?
Otherwise just do the process again.
But this time do it in isolation.. turn off the modem.
Hard reset or factory reset the TC.
Wait for a few minutes for it to come backup and then open the wifi and you can locate the TC listed in the wifi.. click on it and the airport utility will come up. Setup in isolation so you can then select it and change it to bridge mode.. then plug back into the modem and turn it on.
    What modem is it BTW?

  • I have installed airport express and it lights steady green. But when I use the airport tool, nothing can be found.

I have installed airport express on my Window 7 and had problem to find the airport express.
I solved the problem by turning off my AVG firewall and  the airport tool found the airport express and it went steady green.
I then turned on the AVG firewall again and it continues ok.
But when I turn off and restarted my laptop I have to follow the same procedure.
The AVG firewall is set to All Allowed for the airport express.
Is there anybody out there that can give assistance to solve this problem?

    Hi,
I solved the problem myself by updating the Wi-fi driver.
    Now it works perfect.

  • Magsafe light is green all the time , fan is turning on and off

I noticed that my mac book pro 13 inch 2012 is not charging
    and battery was zero .
Initially when I try to plug the power supply , I get a green light for 5 sec  then nothing.
I checked every thing possible with no benefit, so I tried to do SMC for more than 10 times with no response.
at the end instead of solving my issue, I  started to get green light all the time when the mac connected to the power supply.
also the fan is working intermittently .
I am convinced that the mac is not recognizing the battery somehow
    Any suggestions please

If you have reset the SMC already, I would take it in for diagnosis.

  • Blue light and green light on X1 boxes

What is the difference between the X1 boxes with the green light and the one with the blue light?

    bend,
You have been hangin out in this forum for quite a while now. Yet you seem to ask questions that have been asked and answered over and over again.
Is there any chance you could use the search function in this forum before you post your questions? Have you ever done a Google search before you posted your questions??

  • Blinking Green Light

Occasionally after an update, when I turn my iPod on, the power light on the front will display the usual green. However, there will be a pop in the headphones, and the green light will just blink as if it keeps turning on and off. This prevents me from listening to music. Does anyone know what might be causing this?

    Hello Everyone.
    Thank you for your posts.
While your tablet is asleep, a notification LED light ( the Green Light) will blink when certain things happen that you may want to know about immediately when they occur.
Any of the following events can cause the LED light to blink:
    • Calendar: A scheduled time or date has been reached.
    • Desk Clock: A scheduled alarm time has been reached.
(This will be accompanied by an alarm sound)
    • Email: A new email is received.
    • Social Feed Reader: A new post has been made.
    • Gmail: A new email is received.
    • Talk (Google Talk): A new message is received.
Most of these events can be changed by accessing the settings
Others such as the social feed reader would require you to remove that app from being monitored to prevent notification as that is one of its key functions.
This will not affect the facebook or twitter app, just the social feed app for notification from both services.

    Tanner,
Your Lombard can run a maximum of 512MB of RAM (2x256MB). The memory module for the top slot is standard height which is approximately 2.0"; the module for the lower (bottom) slot is low-profile, meaning 1.5" or less. The standard height module will only work in the top slot; the low-profile will work in either slot. Also, these 256MB modules are unique to the early iMac, Wallstreet, and Lombard; generic 256s will not work properly.
Generally, when a powerbook's sleep light comes on when either a charged main battery and/or a power adapter is connected, and a power manager reset does not resolve the issue, you have some other hardware problem. Since the 'book is not even turned on, bad RAM would not cause this. If memory were bad, you may or may not get the startup chime, but then you would receive a dialog box on the lit display of a problem with RAM or cache memory in 9.x; OSX does not have this dialog box but nonetheless the POST (power on self-test) still runs.
When you get a power adapter, I would try this:
    -remove all power;
    -remove the optical drive;
    -lift off the keyboard and very carefully disconnect the keyboard ribbon cable;
    -disconnect the rechargeable backup battery (PRAM battery);
    -lift out the microprocessor card, remove both memory modules;
    -disconnect the HD ribbon cable from the logic board;
    -reinstall the microprocessor card without any memory;
-connect just the power adapter, then press the power button; if no response, press the reset button on the back panel, then try the power button.
In the above, you have stripped down the powerbook to its bare essentials for a power test. If you have no hardware problem, you should have no light steady sleep light and when the power button is pressed, you should hear 1-beep...no RAM detected.

If the above produces no positive results, then you have a failed component somewhere.

  • Airport extreme no internet, though light is green

    Hi,
My Airport Extreme won't connect to the internet anymore. It's light is green (no blinking or anything). It worked for years, but now it doensn't anymore.
My modem is working fine. I checked that, by directly connecting my iMac (by an ethernet cable) to the modem, and then there is a working connection to internet. So I concluded the Airport Extreme must be the problem. I even replaced the Airport Extreme by an (El-Cheapo) other wireless router, which worked like a charm. So the problem is indeed the Airport Extreme.
This is what I tried (many times and in various ways/order):
    1. Rebooting the modem
    2. Rebooting the Airport Extreme
    3. Factury reset of Airport Extreme and setting it up from scratch
    4. Disconnect all Ethernet cables to the Airport Extreme, except for the WANand mto my iMac
    5. Disable Wireless modes
    6. Downgrade firmware (and after this do not resolve the issue), upgrade to the latest firmware again
but none of it resolved the problem..
    Suggestions what to try next??
    Alte.

Finally I solved the problem myself by a full power cycle of the modem and the Airport Extreme, as described on
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3412
Only when following exactly the steps (in the order) as is described, I was able to get an internet connection (again). Before, whenever I lost connection, I just rebooted both the modem + Aripiort Extreme (i.e. unplug-wait-plug the power), and I would be reconnected. So still, now, I feel AirPort Extreme is starting to fail... Let's see for how long it will be running now...
    Thx for the help/reply anyway!!

  • "You are not connected to the internet"  with a green light on Airport

Using airport extreme with my MacBook, The airport shows a steady green light, but I cannot connect to the internet and my Safari shows "You are not connected to the internet".
I tried getting a direct connection, but didn't work, I will be taking my MacBook to have it checked tomorrow.
I called my ISP, thought had to do with my DSL modem, but it works fine with a direct connection to the PC.
I have my network checked with a check mark beside it.
    Any help?

For future references, I have come to solve my own problem and I'm now on line.
After I reset my DSL modem, I went into my System Preferences, Network, then Sharing.
Clicked on Internet tab, and chose " Share your connection using Airport".
In my Airport Options, I checked the inputs to make sure the settings match.
And viola, I'm online and 2 floors away from my Airport Extreme.
Hope this comes in handy for future users.
I'm still going to get my Ethernet card checked tomorrow.

  • N900 only green light on

my n900 shows only steady green light did some1 encouter such and issue?
the phone dosent boot up at all.
no vibrate no shake no nothing.

If you know someone with another N900 or a Nokia 5800 try their battery in your phone and charge your battery in theirs for about half an hour and let us know how you get on.
The N900 has been known to dislike the battery being run right down. It'll refuse to charge (showing full charge light) and it'll refuse to boot.

  • Steady yellow light while charging

Hi, i just got a new shuffle and i'm not sure if i'm the only one with this problem. I have tried searching around but to no avail.
When i connect the player, it starts charging with an amber status light. After a couple of hours, it changes to a steady yellow light instead of a steady green light.
Is there any problem with the player?
    Thanks a lot.

That's the normal behaviour of the shuffle. That light not only indicates battery status, but also in use status. The light is organge to remind you that the shuffle is in use, so don't jsut remove it fromthe computer. You must first eject it through iTunes. When you disconnect the shuffle from the computer and press the battery button you'll see a green battery status light.
Here's more info on the different lights:

  • I have the ishuffle 2nd generation. When I plug in, itunes recognizes it but it will not charge. The green light flashes a few times but then goes out. I'm not sure if the battery is dead or if something else can be done. Any advice?

I have the ishuffle 2nd generation. When I plug it it, itunes recognizes it but the light flashes green a few times and then stops. It is not charging. Is the battery dead or can something else be wrong? Any advice??

To rule out a problem with the shuffle's onboard software, I would try a Restore on the shuffle using iTunes.  The Restore button is on the shuffle's Settings screen in iTunes.  This will erase the shuffle, reinstall its software, and set it to default settings.
If that does not help, you should do a test to confirm there is not a problem on the USB port, such as lack of power to operate the iPod and charge it battery.  Shut down (power off) the computer and disconnect all USB devices including hub, except for standard keyboard and mouse (if normally used).  If the computer is a laptop, connect its power adapter (so that it's not running on battery power).  Do this to reset the shuffle
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1655
Start up computer, run iTunes, and connect shuffle to a direct USB port on the computer.
If that does not help, it is more likely that the problem is a hardware problem on the shuffle, such as the battery.

  • Airport Express Green Light but No Wireless Connection

I would be grateful for any help on an issue that has been driving me crazy! I have spent countless hours trying countless solutions. My wireless network is set up as such: Time Capsule serving as a Base Station, Airport Extreme, 1 Airport Express downstairs in dining room, 1 Airport Express upstairs landing, and 1 Airport Express in the bedroom. All are new, 802.11n. Time Capsule is configured as Create a Wireless Network/Allow This Network to be Extended. All other devices are configured as Extend a Wireless Network/Allow Wireless Clients. All device lights are green. The Time Capsule and Extreme produce a signal and have strong wireless connectivity. The expresses, though green, do not receive a signal and I cannot connect with laptop/iPhone etc. I have tried pretty much everything including changing the channels on the Time Capsule - basically ran through 10 of them with no difference. The Extreme relays strong wireless signal to the upper landing, but the Express - though showing green - simply does not put out a signal. Getting desperate here as have great wireless interest downstairs, but nothing upstairs no matter what I try. Any ideas MOST welcome. (ps...all firmware is up to date)

Kinda have a similar problem. Hijacking it.
Everything's up to date. About 1 year old.
Modem to AXp via Ethernet, AXp set to create a wireless network, shows greenlight.
Modem is a Motorola SB6120. Probably isn't relevant but let's mention it just to be sure.
Alu Macbook detects AXp. In Airport Utility, when I right-click Identify, it says orange/green flickering light. However, the state is greenlighted and it says that it's normal.
All of my devices detect and can connect to my network. It seems everything's working alright except that none can access Internet.
Internet works fine when I directly connect my modem to my Macbook and when I reset the former (which, according to what I read here and there, is fine).
Everything (Macbook, iPod Touch, Wii) was working fine until yesterday afternoon, and nothing since then. Tried resetting the AXp, cycle everything (unplug all, plug in modem, AXp and boot Macbook, in that order) and it didn't work.
Whether it's set to be distributing IP adresses to be sharing a public IP adress, it doesn't work.
I can click on renew lease, I can reboot my devices, same results.
So, where do I go from here? Just so you know, I know next to nothing about network stuff. Thanks in advance and here's the mandatory "sorry for my horrible english".
