Blank Accounts window and missing accounts

Hello, I posed my original question in this thread http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1286618&tstart=0 where it was recommended I started a new thread if I still have problems.
What happened is that I used the install disc that came with my computer to change the passwords on two of my accounts, and this caused those two accounts to disappear (though their home folders are still intact), and made the Accounts window in System Preferences blank (as shown in this image http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/544/picture1ij9.png ).
Thanks to Michael Conniff I now have admin capabilities again (one of the accounts that became disabled was my only admin account), but the problem of the missing accounts and the blank Accounts window remains. At least I am now able to access and copy all my data should I ended up having to reinstall my OS.

Bad idea! You should never need root enabled, you can do anything you need with an admin account and authentication (or sudo in Terminal).
Anyway, your NetInfo database is a complete mess. It doesn't appear to have a /users directory, which could cause some problems.
Your best bet is to follow the instructions in Part III of Mac OS X, Mac OS X Server: How to Replace the NetInfo Database. (Note that this lists commands including the '#' prompt, as in:
# mv /var/db/netinfo/local.nidb /var/db/netinfo/local.nidb.bad
You do not type the '#' prompt.
After you reboot, the Setup Assistant will appear. Enter the details for your existing 501 user, 'francis'. That will correctly associate the new account with the old one. Once you have that running, use System Preferences > Accounts to restore the 502 and 503 accounts in order with the existing names.

I think I want to do the same thing! I want to change my Apple ID which is an email address to my MobileMe email address. When I try to do this, I get a message that says I can not do this! Any suggestions?

If there is something you would like to ask - user to user - please do so. Otherwise, you are wasting your time complaining about Apple, since we are not Apple.

What is the difference between /assets/account/import and /data/account ?

Does anybody knows what is the use of /assets/account/import and /data/account.
What is the difference between these two and their functional use.

/assets/account/import is used in the context of performing account file uploads through the E10 UI. If you navigate to Contacts > Accounts > and click Upload in the top right corner (above search), you'll get the upload wizard:
The moment you click the cloud icon and select a file, two actions take place:
1) POST to /assets/account/import is made, where you are passing the name, import source and purpose of the import. The response includes the id of the new import object you created
2) Another POST to /assets/account/import/{id}/csv is made, which includes the data in your chosen file
Afterwards, you perform the mappings and go to step 4 of the wizard. When you click Finish, another two actions take place:
1) PUT /assets/account/import/{id} to update the import definition with your mappings from Step 3
2) POST to /assets/account/import/{id}/queue to send this import into the import/upload queue. At this point it becomes visible from Setup > Integration > Inbound > Reporting > Upload History
Note that this workflow is not meant for client use, but rather helps facilitate UI functionality for marketing users. You should be using Bulk API to add or update records, which also confers other advantages such as the ability to use syncActions. The only functionality not available in Bulk API which is available through this workflow is the ability to delete Accounts. For obvious reasons, its recommend that you do NOT automate the deletion of any records. Accounts especially are not subject to any band limits or rates, so its best to have Marketers remove them as needed.
Regarding the second part of your question, the /data/accounts endpoint will provide you with up to 1000 account records when using GET. A POST can also be made to create a new account record (company) within Eloqua. Otherwise, GET /data/account/{id} will retrieve the details of a particular record and PUT /data/account{id} will update a particular.

Accounts Window in System Accounts is Blank

I am trying to add a new user account. I got to Sys. Preferences, then Accounts, but when the Accounts pane opens, it is completely blank. Has anyone experienced this?

OK, this seems to be more problematic in Tiger than in Panther or Jaguar
Trash that Cache file again, and then drag the following file to your Desktop:
com.apple.preferences.accounts.plist in Macintosh HD > Library > Preferences folderThen you will need to restart.
If this doesn't work, search the forums for similar posts.

Automatically sync IMAP account (provider) and LOCAL account (my Mac)

I've searched a lot but didn't find an answer yet. Maybe someone can give me a hint.
I'm looking for a functionality similar to E-Mail favourites in WIndows. The target is to automatically make a copy of some folders in my IMAP account to my LOCAL account. I need to have access to my old E-Mails even when I'm not connected to the Internet.
Any ideas?

go to mail preferences->accounts->advanced and check the option "Keep copies of messages for offline viewing"->"all messages and attachments". then you'll have them on your mac and will be able to use them even when not connected to internet.
Any ideas?

Often when I click on a link to open an email to go to in an article, it opens a blank FF window and not the email format it should.

Since upgrading to FF 4.0 when I click on an email link it never opens to that link but to a blank FF window.
Would FF 5.0 fix that or what do I do?
I'm afraid to use 5.0 because 4.0 caused a multitude of problems for me, not all fixable.

Dear Experts,
I use SAP R/3 4.6 C.
I've type account : Thirds Party , Affiliates and Subsidiary, and each account have Recon. Account : Thirds Party Recon Account , Affiliates Recon. Account and Subsidiary Recon Account.
I need information about Customer : Account Assignment Groups (OVK8) and Recon. account (XD03).
Are there any connection between above t-code in SD and FI ?

We need to create the Reconciliation Accounts for Customers, according to the Customer Account Groups.
If Customer is Created with the following Account Groups - Thirds Party , Affiliates and Subsidiary then we need to Create the Reconciliation Accounts - Sundry Debtors - Thirds Party Account, Sundry Debtors - Affiliates Account and Sundry Debtors - Subsidiary Account.
FI and SD Integration is done in T-Code: VKOA and in T-Code: OB40(Taxes Account Determination)
T-Code: OVK8 is just for creation of Account Assignment Groups for Customers.
Account Determination at the time of Post Goods Issue - T-Code: OBYC - GBB (Transaction) - VAX - Valuation Class (Finished Product) - COGS Account - No Cost Element (If there is no production Activity)

Difference between "account group" and "reconciliation account"

Hello,
I am new to SAP and I would like to understand the difference between the "account group" and the "reconciliation account" that appear both in the vendor master records.
From what I read, "account group" is just a classification but has no "accounting" impact whereas "reconciliation account" (goods suppliers, overhead expenses suppliers...) do have an accounting impact.
However I am not sure so I would like a confirmation on that and if possible examples so I could really understand.

The account group is a way to divide vendors into groups for reporting later on.
The account group is also the link to the number range and the field selection functionality.

IE 10 blank new tab and missing favourites problem only when requiring a proxy for first page visit

We are having a very strange situation with one (only) of our 64bit 2008r2 remote desktop session host servers. The problem we are having is that when any new tab or window is opened it must first open a page that is in the
internet options -> connections ->LAN settings -> Advanced -> Exception. Do not use proxy server for addresses beginning with
Area. OR ELSE....
The entire contents of the favourites menu below "Organize favourites" is missing, though the favourites explorer bar, and tool bar display the links, but they cannot be opened in the current tab and will not create a new tab when you click open
in new tab. HOWEVER, this problem is instantly resolved if you manually type into the address bar and visit a site that is in the proxy exception list. Then that tab starts to function normally, the favourites menu is populated and works, and so
does the favourites explorer bar, and toolbar, and other websites can be visited.
This is extremely problematic. Looking at the proxy server logs, when the problem is happening no attempt is made at contacting the proxy server.
Ways we've encountered this problem
If the user has the option set that a new tab opens the 'new tab page' then any new tab experiences the problem.
If the browser is set to open the user's home page(s) then any of the home pages that are not in the exception list may or may not open successfully. But again any of them that opened a page that was not in the proxy exception list will experience
the problem
when a user tries to click on a website link from an email or document that is not in the proxy exception list, as this opens a new window or tab and it is just blank.

This problem is happening for all users on that RD session host server, including domain admins, except for THE domain/enterprise administrator. Our other 2008r2 64bit RD session host servers and windows 7 machines with the same version of IE
installed on it does not have this problem.
We have tried deleting all IE data, resetting IE, re-registering the ieproxy.dll with the regserv32 command and the problem continues.
Our proxy settings for each user is coming from the group policy setting of 'computer config -> policies -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Internet Explorer -> Make proxy settings per-machine = enabled'
and THE domain administrator choosing to enable the proxy server and disable automatic proxy detection.

Since you have tried many methods like deleting all IE data, resetting IE, and it works well on other Windows 7 machines, the problem might be some clients didn’t respond to the group policy.
Try to update the group policy with this command at the clients ”gpupdate /force”.
And check whether the client is infected with virus, some virus might cause this issue too.

Frozen finder window and missing desktop

Hi, a sister of mine gave me their ibook g4 a few months ago and i've encountered a problem. i downloaded a flash file (.flv extension?) and i don't know if macs even support it, but after trying to open that the computer kinda crashed. the finder window won't open or relaunch and nothing from the desktop will appear. the cursor indicates that the computer is busy when over the desktop and finder taskbar. i can open applications on the quick access toolbar on the bottom of the screen, but everything else can't be accessed without the finder window. airport and stuff works, but i have to hold down the power button to turn the computer off, so it's still functional in a crude (and probably damaging) way. since it was a gift, i only have an apple hardware test disk for ibook g4, which the computer says it doesn't support even when i tried to use it before the crash. i don't have the install disks to clear the slate and start over, so i think it's pretty much done for it's lifetime. any help would be nice. thanks.

you could try starting in safe mode - "shift" key is held down on startup.
if it boots up, you can create new user in System Preferences-Accounts.
then try to log in as new user.

Vendor Account group and recon account

Hi,
I have 2 vendor account groups:
1) ZLOC- For domestic vendors
2) ZIMP- For Import Vendors.
My requirement is when I am creating the vendor master, the recon account meant for local vendors should automatically get selected and for import vendors recon meant for import vendor should be selected.
this is required to avoid entry errors by users. currently they are selecting by drop down and made mistakes.

We have to maintain it manually.
It's not a day to day activity so very few chances of mistake by user.
