Bluetooth SMS

I wanted to send a SMS message from a bluetooth device plugged into my USB to a nokia mobile phone...
I need to do this in Java but the code i have done only sets up the connection and although this is not working, i dont know how to send the SMS to the mobile or if it is even possible...
I cannot use the SDK which i found but it involves writing in the message yourself, where i want it to be sent from the computer java program to the bluetooth device tot he phone....
Thanks for anyone who helps me on this,
Pam

  • Bluetooth MAP SMS works in my vehicle but "reply" & "call" options grayed out

I have an iPhone 4S updated to the IOS 6. I have a 2012 Honda CRV that supports bluetooth SMS. The phone paired  with the vehicle and phone calls work, streaming audio works and even SMS works. The vehicle does read the SMS messages well, but the options to "reply" or "call" are grayed out so it's not an option. But, I've noticed that when I get a text message from someone not in my contact list the vehicle system will read the text like normal but now the option for "reply" and "call" IS available. So when I get a text from someone in my contacts the vehicle can only read it but when I get a text message from someone not in my contacts the vehicle can read, reply, or call. Is this something with the bluetooth profile? It seems like something that can be fixed with a software update. Anyone have some insight?

My question doesn't not need to be taken as a question about the vehicle specifically. Yes I have this question up in Acura forums as well. I am looking to see if others with an iPhone 5 or iOS 6 have tried their MAP protocol on anything basically and wondering the results of their tries.
To recall my question: Does iOS 6 have MAP Protocol for SMS read back and reply in my vehicle? & On iOS 5 this was not supported but I have read that now it is. Has anyone tried this function?

  • MSI BLUETOOTH Setup. Can you HELP??

    MSI 845E Max2-BLR (i845E) Mainboard
    Hi
Ive just built a system with the above mentioned MSI board, I chose this board because of the Bluetooth option as my friend is in a wheelchair & needed a short range wireless network to connect his desktop PC to his Laptop to transfer files etc. I thought bluetooth was the best option.
We have managed to Install the Bluetooth antena on the desktop end & the MSI USB Bluetooth dongle (Transceiving Key) on the Laptop end, everything Installed ok with no conflicts or problems showing anywhere.
When we go into the bluetooth software however it reports that theres no signal between the two devices, The system is running Windows XP Professional, do we have to setup a network within Win XP?
Im a complete novice regarding Networking or Bluetooth so if somebody whos maybe got experience of setting up this board with bluetooth could guide me through the setting up procedure of getting the bluetooth up & running

  • Address Book / Bluetooth issue -- Can you help?

I have a Sony Ericsson K800i cell phone and a new black macbook. I have the two devices connected and can use iSync, but I cannot use Address book to make calls or SMS. I also have an old powerbook which works fine with the K800i.
I can only assume now that it is an issue with my MacBook. Does any one have any idea how to get it working? I can get it to connect, but it doesn't want to make phone calls or SMS.
Can anyone help? It would be much appreciated.

  • No SMS Support for Nokia N70 in 10.4.9

I've just updated to Mac OS 10.4.9, hoping there would new support added for the Nokia N70 and Bluetooth SMS via Address Book.
Has anyone had any success without the use of third party software?
My guess is to wait for Leopard.
In the meanwhile, I'll put in a request into Apple and sit and wait.

I have been using a Nokia N70 with my Mac mini for over a year now. I first got bluetooth working with address book from a hack (old nokia phone) I found in these forums. Phone answering / logging and SMS receive and sending all worked from address book.
I now have reduced functionality. Address book can still connect to me phone. Phone answering / logging still works however, SMS sending seems to be intermitant and SMS recieving does not show on the screen at all.
I have seen that in the recent updates Nokia N70 has been added to the list of compatible phones.
Has anyone had similar experiences? Have you found a solution?

  • Android lollipop version

When Xperia Z C6603 in malaysia can get the android lollipop version update...?

We just need to fix some bugs that left in 4.4.2. Does it really matter if it's 4.4.2 or 4.4.4? Not sure. We have a Sony overlay and many tweaks under the hood. I would preffer some new features like double tap to wake up or working Bluetooth SMS -> Car Handsfree bugfix than just another os sub-revision.
Developer Preview of Android L will be released tomorrow, final version probably this Autumn. I think that Z1 may get this OS version somewhere around March 2015, Z3?? probably near December 2014 or January 15.
But I don't see any point for new flagship device this fall so maybe we will see Z2 Compact sharing the same hardware as Z2/Z2 Tablet. Then early 2015 release of L version for Z2 series and following release for Z1 series is quite possible. Just my own opinion.

  • N97 memory switching

I have recently got my N97, but I am having problems with the memory.   I have uploaded a load of songs from my PC to the phone, which went straight to the mass memory....great.
A mate tried to send me a film from his Nokia to mine via bluetooth.    This failed as it said there was not enough memory.   It was trying to send it to the small phone memory.
How can I change the settings so I can receive stuff straight to the mass memory but also move the installed applications I have put on from the phone memory to the mass memory.
If anyone can help, can you explain fully....I'm not a wizz on phones and will easily get confused!!!!!!

    Hi,
Following the current issue, you may like to know that ur phone is a S60 (Symbian) phone, which means all Bluetooth sms will be stored on phone memory by default, that's why if the shared memory (internal) is loaded with data, you may not able to receive the BT sms. As such, I suggest you try the steps below:
    - Reboot the phone and power up again after 15 mins (remove the battery, sim card and MMC abt 15 mins)- Delete personal data (videos, songs, images, apps...), plus call logs, sms logs, packet data logs, caches, to set the memory free:
+ Menu > Log > Recent calls > Options > Delete recent calls
    + Menu > Log >  Call duration > Options > Clear timers
    + Menu > Log > Packet data > Options > Clear counters
+ Menu > Web > Options >Clear privacy data > Delete Cache and Cookie
     - Delete outbox messages  (all messages if there are a lot
    - Select MMC to be used as memory for Messaging app: Menu > Messaging > Options > Settings > Other > Memory in use > slect the MMC (if any)- If the above steps can not help, you are advised to do the factory settings on the phone: Menu > Settings > Phone > Phone management > Factory settings > Lock code (12345 by default)
    Hope it helps

  • Continuity Bluetooth Calling & SMS on Macbook Pro (via iPhone 5) Not Working

    Devices:
Macbook Pro Mid-2010 running OSX 10.10.2
    Iphone 5 running iOS 8.1.3
*NOTE: I understand that due to the version of the Bluetooth protocol in my machine, not all continuity features are available (Handoff, Air Drop, MBP Instant Hotspot)
However SMS to IMessage and the ability to make and receive calls from my Mac should be OK according to Apple's system requirements one-sheeter:
System requirements for Continuity on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac - Apple Support
    ================================================================================ =====================
    Here's my problem.
I finally took the plunge last night and updated my iPhone 5 from 7.1 to 8.1.3 to access the iCloud Drive and additional continuity features integrated into Yosemite.
When I tried to pair my iPhone 5 with my MBP over Bluetooth, all seemed to go well for the first 5 seconds.
    - Both devices were in discovery mode.
    - Mac saw the phone and displayed a security code
    - iPhone displayed the same security code and asked if I would like to pair with MBP
    - Pairing took place. Each devices Bluetooth profile / device showed up in my MBP Bluetooth's Preferences  and in my iPhone's Bluetooth.
    - 5 seconds later, there's no connection between devices.
    My iPhone displays:
"Connection Unsuccessful: Make sure [Macbook Pro] is turned on and in range." (The phone is 5 inches away)
Then sometimes I get this message:
"Connection Unsuccessful: [Macbook Pro] is not supported.
No rhyme or reason between the two either.
Here's the baffling part: When I activate my Phone's HotSpot function, the Bluetooth works and connects with my MBP allowing it to use my cell phone network's data for internet connectivity.
I don't understand what is going on or how to correct this? Can anyone succinctly explain how to correct this problems in layman terms?
If the devices can communicate long enough to exchange security codes and verify their identities, then use Hotspot,  there is clearly a data exchange happening. Where is the break down taking place when it comes time to stay connected to so I can continue to use the limited continuity features.
I've seen this question posted before by people having problems with different model years of MBP including the most recents models, so I know it's not mutually exclusive to my model year, but cannot seem to find clarity on an answer.

  • Nokia 920 Bluetooth and SMS Speech

I have a Nokia 920 and I recently changed from a Toyota RAV4 to a VW Golf 2013 MK7 TSI 90 Comfortline in Australia on Telstra.
Previously, when paired with my RAV4 whenever I got incoming SMS text it would announce text from the phone contact and offer the option to 'Read it', 'Reply' using voice commands.
I've paired it to my VW Golf but it no longer announces SMS text or give me voice command options.  Is this a bluetooth compatibility issue; is there any option to upgrade or modify settings to enable this feature?
    Richard

Hi, when i refer to voice commands I was specifically referring to scenario:
    1. SMS text arrives
    2. Announcement is made of new text - with option to 'Read it', 'Reply', 'Send'
-- I was referring to the above options as it relates to voice commands back.
    3. Voice commands via holding the Windows Logo on phone - this works fine.

  • Sending SMS via Bluetooth not working

    Hi,
I have two Nokia phones, an N73 and an older 6600. I was able to pair both with the Bluetooth in my MacBook Pro SR.
I can access the web via dial-up networking, so that's working fine.
However, I am unable to send SMS via AddressBook over the phone. When I click the little connect-to-bluetooth button in AddressBook, I am first asked to pair the phone - even though it's already paired, and connects automatically on both the computer and the phone. Then, when I do enter the code on the phone, the connection just fails. The button gets a slight blue outline but the B symbol doesn't actually light up as it should.
    Send SMS remains grayed out.
Has anybody got this to work or know what could be wrong?
PS: I am able to send SMS on Windows using MS SMS Sender, so I am sure that it's not the phone's fault.
This worked fine with my Titanium Powerbook with USB Bluetooth dongle.

Thanks for the response, but that's not it. The N73 is listed as supported, and iSync works perfectly well. Dial-Up networking also works perfectly well.
Only sending SMS via bluetooth doesn't work.
Also - no idea if this is related - faxing via the 6600 doesn't work anymore, which is strange because it used to work on the TiBook. Most people don't even know you can fax via Bluetooth phone and most newer phones have lost this capability so I guess this is just on its way out. Too bad because it was pretty useful...

  • Bold 9930 + Bluetooth + Garmin nuvi 3590LMT + SMS + Text

I have a Bold 9930. I have had the Garmin for about a month and have been using hands free calling.  About 10 days after using the Garmin, I got a text message and the Garmin offered to read it to me which it did.  After powering down the Garmin it has never relayed text messages from my Bold.  Never before and never after that one time.  It read one regular Verizon text message and one Facebook Messenger (app not the facebook app) message.  Never read a Blackberry Messenger message.  One did come in while I was traveling (BBM) and was not read.  When connecting via bluetooth: Bold says it connected with the garmin and green check box filled for hands free AND Message center.  I haven't been able to restore this function.  Basically it just started working for one day and never since.

It does not support sending SMS via the Bluetooth. There is no upgrade to allow that, and I am not aware of any third party application which would enable it, either.
    Good luck.

You may be able to forward your messages using standard texting service. I don't beleive there is an option to beam the messsage.
In your inbox, tap on a message to highlight the message. Tap in the upper left corner of the screen where it says msgs. Look for the selection to forward. If it is available, you can forward the message using the sms service.
You would need to send each message one at a time.
