BPC NW - Error Importing Master Data from BI to BPC

Hello,
I am importing MD from BW to BPC; openhub is working as required, and creating the corresponding file in the application server.
However, when I run the package from Data Manager, it is displaying the following error:
"An exception with the type CX_SY_STRUCT_COMP_NAME occurred, but was neither handled locally, nor declared in a RAISING clause.
No Component name specified for Component 6."
I have been looking other posts and OSS notes, and looks a problem related to DB; however in this case we do not have any dump.
Has anyone encountered the same issue?
Thanks&Kind regards,
Begonia

Hi Begonia Boloqui,
After you extracted master data from BI using Openhub. The file is available in the application server.
Before you run the package from Data Manager.
Please examine the file data contents.
From the Action Pane, Click Manage Data and then clicking Preview data file
System allows you to preview the first 200 lines of a data file. Check whether data record is compatible with dimension definition and the mapping from external to internal members.
Looks like error is with COMP_NAME field?
Hope this information is useful.
Regards,
Rajesh Muppala.

    Hello Guru,
    I have one Sales Infocube in BI which has Company Code, Customer, Company Code, Accounts (Revenue, COGS,OVERHEAD),Calmonth, Currency and Amount fields.
    I created one application in BPC 7.5 which has RB_CATEGORY, RB_ENTITY, RB_CUSTOMER, RB_ACCT, RB_DATASRC, RptCurrency, Time dimensions. then i created a transformation file where i have mentioned below.
    *OPTIONS
    FORMAT = DELIMITED
    HEADER = YES
    DELIMITER = ,
    AMOUNTDECIMALPOINT = .
    SKIP = 0
    SKIPIF =
    VALIDATERECORDS=YES
    CREDITPOSITIVE=NO
    MAXREJECTCOUNT=
    ROUNDAMOUNT=
    SELECTION=0CALYEAR,2009
    *MAPPING
    RB_CATEGORY=*NEWCOL(ACTUAL)

    RB_ACCT=ZACCOUNT

    RptCurrency=*NEWCOL(LC)
    Time=0CALMONTH
    SIGNEDDATA=ZAMOUNT
    *CONVERSION
    Time=RB_TIME.xls
    I have created conversion file where i have given 200901 = JAN.2009 and like that. i saved this file as RB_TIME.xls and tried to validate the transformation.
    it shows status like all the records are rejected. I went to logs and some of there are showing errors like below.
    RB_ENTITY  member : 0020 is invalid or is a calculated member
    RB_PRODUCT member :CK2000 is invalid or is a calculated member
    I went to RB_ENTITY masterdata and it has some masterdata entries. am i getting error because of that ?

    Hi,
    To be able to load transaction data for 2010, you should have the master data for that in the time dimension. For this, you need to go to BPC admin and add the dimension members in the time dimension manually.
    Alternatively, you can have a process to import master data from BI system also. You can do some more research on this. Please refer to the below link from help.sap:

  • Issue while loading master data from BI7 to BPC

    Dear Experts,
    I'm trying to load master data from BI7 to BPC NW using scenario 2 mentioned in the below document.
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/00380440-010b-2c10-70a1-e0b431255827
    My requirement is need to load 0GL_ACCOUNT attribute and text data from BI7 system to BPC.
    1.As mentioned in the How to...doc I had created a dimension called GL_ACCOUNT using BPC Admin client .
    2.Able to see GL_ACCOUNT in RSA1, when I try to create a Transformation(step 17 , page-40) to load Attribute data I could not find source of transformation object as 0GL_ACCOUNT(which exist in BI7) . I could only able to see only dimensions available in BPC system when I click F4 in Name.
    What could be the reason to not getting BI infoobject as source in BPC?
    Thanks in advance...
    regards,
    Raju

    Dear Gurus,
    My issue got resolved. So far I'm trying to pull data from R/3>BW>BPC. In the existing land scape BW and BPC are 2 different boxes. That is the reason I couldn't able to see BW objects into BPC (since 2 are different boxes). To resolve the issue I have created a new infoobect (RSD1) in BPC and data loading is from R/3>BPC infoobject(which is created through RSD1)>BPC Dimension.
    Thanks and regards,

  • Issue while loading master data from BI to BPC

    Dear All,
    I am loading master data from BI to BPC using the process chain /CPMB/IMPORT_IOBJ_MASTER. I ran the package and package status was success. But few member ID's which are available in BI are not getting loaded in BPC. Nearly I have 1300 ID's in BI. Out of 1300,only 1270 ID's are loaded in BPC.
    I haven't restrict any ID's using conversion file as well.
    What could be the reason? How can I overcome this and load all member's ID in BPC?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ramesh.

    Ramesh,
    Whats the write mode you have chosen for the CPMB/IMPORT_IOBJ_MASTER chain ?
    Check if you have the Update mode ..

  • Issue with import master data from BW info object using DM

    Hi All,
    We have master data loads on weekly basis.
    One of them, product master data is loaded from 0material using DM package.
    While loading the attributes we exclude couple of Products based on the attributes (say Product sub family)
    ex - Having conversion file which excludes product sub family - ML. so all the products under that sub family are excluded from the load.
    Hierarchy load - How can we skip the products which are excluded during attribute run?
    For the first hierarchy load, we copied all the product ID which are part of product sub family - ML and entered in conversion file "NODENAME" and "PARENT" to skip.
    But during the subsequent runs, whenever we have a new  product under Family ML the hierarchy job fails. Attached the error. we then manually enter that product to be excluded in the hierarchy load and the job runs fine.
    Is there a way to automate this process.
    Version - BPC 10 SP 17 .NET 3.5
    Appreciate any thoughts on this.
    Thanks in advance/
    Raghu

    Thanks for your response.
    We are currently using the first option you have mentioned. But the problem is when we have new product coming in BW (which is part of attribute we skip while loading attributes from BW to BPC) we manually need to add that product to skip in hierarchy conversion file also.
    As i can see, the selection option to skip is available only while loading the attributes but not for hierarchy load.
    Please correct me if am wrong.
    Regards,
    Raghu

    Hello Guru,

    I looked into the process chain "BPC: Import BW InfoObject master data" and i found that few processes are  in GREEN color and few are in RED color (Display). is that correct or not ? then as per some of the thread i went to "BPC: Convert BW infoObject master data" --> SOURCE_TYPE = IP  and added one parameter "FORMULA_FILE_NO". Then i saved this process chain and activated it.
    I created transformation file in BPC and it got created successfully but while i try to load packages it throws me error.
    Q. Do i need to have entire process chain with all processes in GREEN to have the master data in BPC ?

  • Load master data from BI 7.0 to BPC NW 7.0

    From BPC 7.0 NW, SAP has standard package to load transaction data from BI cube to BPC cube, However, it dose not have the standard package to load master data from BI master data to BPC master data(dimension),
    Is this mean that we have to load the master data from BI to BPC through flat file? or we  can create some customer package(process chain) to load it?

    Hi JW,
    You can automate the master data load from BW if that is what you are trying to accomplish. Have you seen this guide: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/00380440-010b-2c10-70a1-e0b431255827 ?
    Additionally you can also develop a custom process type and use it in a custom process chain alongwith a data manager package to load master data if you don't want to use any flat files at all.

  • Purpose of Update/Overwrite Hierarchy in Import master data package

    Hi All,
    Please let me know what is the difference in update and overwrite option in import master data package. Here when i tried running the package, both the option are altering the hierarchy of existing member.
    My requirement is just to add a new member ID, if it already exist it should not affect those records and only update the new master data records.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ramanathan

    Hi Ramanathan,
    You can run Import Master Data DM package in BPC to perform delta master data load. While you run DM package you get option to load Master Data from BW/BI where you can select:
    1. MERGE: this will keep old data intact and also load new master data, and
    2. COPY and REPLACE: This will copy new data and delete old master data.
    As per your requirement, you need to select the First option. If you select Update option then it will not delete old master data, instead update the members and hierarchy according to the parent-children design which you would have given in the dimension membersheet.
    Hope this corresponds to your requirement.
    Rgds,
    Poonam

  • Selection Set - Import Master data (prompt selection)

    Hello Gurus,
    When we run the package "Import Master data from NW infoobject"  using data manager in BPC
    we have options to select ,Infoobject ,write mode ,format ,transformation file and Dimension ,all of this we can use the answer prompt and provide the inputs using UJD_TEST_PACKAGE and automate it.
    Now i want to also provide the inputs of "SET SELECTION" tab available on the package which are below ,so how to automate
    Attribute ,Hierarchy ,Language ,Attribute List
    in the prompt file in the UJD_TEST_PACKAGE
    Thanks

    Hi Peter,
    You can trigger a BPC load from back end too. For that you need to create variants for the program UJD_TEST_PACKAGE or create a custom program depending on the requirement and then create variants( for example to load cost center master data, create a variant for 0COSTCENTER ) for it. The values for the variant{as already mentioned by Gersh} would be the  text enclosed in square brackets after you run a Data Manager Package manually and then view details of the status.
    Steps are:
    1) Goto SE38
    2) Enter the program UJD_TEST_PACKAGE or the custom package
    3) Create a variant for the required master data/hierarchy load.
    4) Enter the details of variant by using the details after you have manually run a data manager package.
    You can test the package and include it in your pc's too.
    Thanks,
    Vinay

  • BPC 7.5 NW: Import master data and Hierarchy from BI

    There is a HTG about Import master data and Hierarchy from SAP NT BW, the BPC cost center master data's property have corresponding attribute  InfoObject 0COSTCENTER of BW.
    what about for those properties which do not have corresponding attribute in BW? I would asume that START_ROUTINE and END_ROUTINE will do this in BPC side,  can we also do this on BW side instead of BPC side?

    Hi,
    You can check this in start routine which can be called from Transformation file using BADI.

  • Error importing vendor master data from ERP

    Hi experts,
    currently we are trying to import vendor master data from ERP to SAP Sourcing 9.
    We exported the data in an XML file by using the transaction BBP_ES_MAST_DOWNLOAD.
    We already imported all the dependencies like vendor account group, purchase org, regions etc. successfully.
    However, every time we are trying to import the vendor data we receive the same result:
    Data Import:
    Trace.txt:
    Do you have any hints why this happens?
    Thanks in advance and best regards,

    Hello Johannes,
    This looks to come from a custom script in your system.
    Go to Setup > Script Definition and check all scripts defined on class "Supplier" (starting with those on context: Import Lifecycle Event).
    Search for a script that starts with "throw doc.createApplicationException(test..."

  • Error loading data from BW to BPC with standard package

    Hi experts,
    A big part of our solution is pulling actuals from BW into BPC.  To do so we use the standard SAP package "Load InfoProvider Selections" which calls the process chain /CPMB/LOAD_INFOPROV_UI.
    We have migrated our environment to BPC 10 and tried to run this process and are now getting the following error:
    “ Task name CONVERT:
    No 1 Round:
    An exception with the type CX_ST_MATCH_ELEMENT occurred, but
    was neither handled locally, nor declared in a RAISING clause
    System expected element 'Selections' ”
    We have tested and this is happening with all data loading packages.  It appears as though it is expecting a "selection" parameter, but selections have definitely been made.  Has anyone encountered a similar issue or have any idea how to resolve it?

  • Copy Master Data from BW cube to BPC cube

    Hi,
    I need to copy a master data from BW cube to BPC cube.
    Can I do this from BW? That is, Can I copy master data from the view of the cube of BPC in BW?
    I do this from BW and then I see the master data in my BPC cube from the BW view, but when I open my cube in the BPC environment, I don't see nothing of the master data.
    What's the problem?
    Regards,
    Miguel.

    Hi Miguel -
    I think you are asking if you can copy transactional data from a BW cube into a BPC cube (cubes do not contain master data).
    If this is what you want to do, yes the BPC IMPORT package is a delivered data manager package that allows you to select a BW cube, transformation file, and additional options (such as work status checking and default logic execution).  The use of the Data Manager [process is the "best practice" since you will need to transform the BW data model into the BPC data  model and the tools delivered in the IMPORT data manager package are ideally suited for the job.  You can automate this process by following the guide at:
    [https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BPX/Enterprise%20Performance%20Management%20%28EPM%29%20How-to%20Guides|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BPX/Enterprise%20Performance%20Management%20%28EPM%29%20How-to%20Guides]  The specific document is:  "How to Export BPC Transaction Data Using a Custom Process Chain"
    If you are actually asking for the process for loading master data into BPC dimensions, please read the following "How To" guide that describes the current best practices:
    [https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BPX/Enterprise%20Performance%20Management%20%28EPM%29%20How-to%20Guides|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BPX/Enterprise%20Performance%20Management%20%28EPM%29%20How-to%20Guides]  The specific document is: "How to Automate Master Data Loads in BPC NW"
