BPM API for interrupt process instance

Hi,
I have used the BPM API's to locate the process instance number that I need. How can I use this number to send a message interrupt to the process? (Has a boundary catch message)

Thanks for the reply. But my expectation is different. This is getting the component instance id without any argument, for the current instance. But I need to retrieve the Bpel instance based on some arguments, may be using the correlation id / composite sensor attributes / flex fields attributes...

How to look for duplicate process instances?

In Oracle BPM 11g, is there a good way to look for duplicate process instances based on process data attributes? For example, I have entered an instance of a process for 'John Smith' with a date of '4/1/2010' and I want to see if there is another instance in the same process with these same data values to evaluate as a potential duplicate. I believe we can write a java service to invoke the API to do this, but I am wondering if there is a better way within the process design to do this (XPath extension functions or soemthing?). It seems like this would be a common need.

I am really looking for an approach to looking for duplicate instances within my process flow, not from EM. So, if the user starts a new instance of a process, I can check for another instance that appears to be a duplicate and direct the flow to a human activity to review the potential duplicate and make a decision as to whether to continue processing the new instance or reject it. My guess is that we need to us a service task to invoke java code which uses the API to investigate other instances with the same values. But, I was hoping for a simpler solution....I have to think that this is not too uncommon.

Security Settings For Deleting Process Instance Information

Hi there,
We are currently having issues with our more "novice" users deleting "unsuccessful" or "error" process instances. Are their any security settings we could use for this type of user profile that would not allow them to delet these instances?

Hi Dan,
Yes you can do that. The process file associated with the Userid is not having Permission to alter process request.
Identify the Process Profile permission list:
Navigation: PeopleTools > Security > User Profile
Make changes to the Process profile permission list:
Navigation: PeopleTools > Security > Permission Lists
Select the appropriate process profile permission list.
Go to 'Process' Tab. Click on 'Process Profile Permissions' hyper link. Under 'Allow process request' section should be changed to Owner or none based on your requierment.

How to access Task details using BPM API for substituting user

I need one help, we have a requirement, in which I wanted to access the BPM task details of a user which is substituting user using BPM API.
Substituting user's name is not exist in Potential owner of Task. That’s why Using method "getMyTaskAbstracts(Status)" we cant acess those task which assigned by Substited user.
Kindly let me know if there is any way, we can get task details of the task which assigned by substituted user to substituting user.

Can schema validation be activated for a process instance?

Is there some configuration property that can be added to the bpel.xml that will turn on schema validation for a single process (as opposed to turning this on for the entire engine)?

You can also use the same property in bpel deployment descriptor's partnerLinkBinding, to enable/disable xml validation for a particular partner. "validateXML" property in bpel dd will override the domain.xml's "validateXML" property.
For example in LoanFlow/bpel.xml, enable validation for only StarLoanService partner:

Is there an API in FDMEE to determine if an Event like AftLoad is being executed in Batch?

In FDMEE you can use custom scripts to be executed Before and After batch is processed.
To get that determination from Event Script you would have to build your own code to check if the LOADID is in AIF_BATCH_LOAD_AUDIT.

API to load Process Instruction for Recipes

We are in R12. We are implementing OPM. In that I could able to get the API to load the Recipe header and details. But I am not able to get the API for loading Process Instructions to the recipes.
Please let me know, if there are any API available to load the 'Process Instruction' for the recipes.

I did come across that note and tried loading a single row. I saw that it did insert the row into per_images table, but when I went into the front-end, the image does not display for the employee. There was no error, it's just blank in the Picture screen.What is the image format? There are couple of reported bugs/issues with loading images (Search Metalink for PERWSIMG image), and review the notes.

Getting Process instance with key '0' does not exist.

I am doing a request based provisioning task.When I request for a resource the approvers are able to approve the request but the user is not created.

Process instance with key '0' does not exist
Such issue typically appears when the Provisioning is initiated without "Auto Save" i.e. before ORC_KEY entry goes in the OIU table...
Second possibility can be that the mandatory attributes in the process form are not populated..
Third possibility can be that the Status is Waiting... And Resource is dependent on another Resource...
Are you able to Direct Provision the account? I mean without raising Request Based provisioning?
Please give us following details:
(1) Resource Profile:-status of Auto Save
(2) Approval Process:- status of Auto Save and Auto Pre-Pop
(3) Prov Process:-status of Auto Save and Auto Pre-Pop.
(4) Is the object form properly populated?
(5) Is the Process form properly populated?
(6) Any Exception occurred during Approval process?
(6) In the OIM Database, fire the following query:-

Process instances stop at timer event

Hi,
I modelled a process with intermediate timer event. When this timer expires an automatic activity is invoked which checks certain conditions. If these conditions are not met the process token returns to the timer until the conditions are met and another process path is entered. I observed quite a lot of process instances which stoped at this timer event, meaning: the timer doesn't expire any more and the entire process instance stands still. The reason for this seems to be:
- database filled up (ok, this shouldn't happen. I accept that this has severe consequences)
- restart of application or netweaver
- running process archiving run
Is there a way to reactivate these process instances other than aborting the current instance and starting a new one?
Timer events use GalaxyTimerJob. I assume an appropriate database entry failed. Can I add this missing table entry by executing SQL commands or isn't it as easy as that?

yes, suspending and resuming doesn't change anything. 'Instance restart': you mean restarting NetWeaver? In fact, it seems to me, that fixes the problem for some process instances, but too many stay in their "corrupt" status.
Can I execute some SQL statements to add this GalaxyTimerJob database entry? Even if there are such statements, would it be too critical as the various process instances might be in different states and the execution of such statements might rather brake than fix things?

Completed Process instance - History of Context data

Hi,
I've a completed process instance. I'm able to look for that process instance at "Manage Process" -> ....... -> "Advance Search".
My question is, how can i view the history of the context data for each of the tasks of the completed process instance. When i select the the process instance and click "Show Tasks" button, i couldnt see any task instance ID for that completed process instance.
Any idea?
Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm interested at the context data/input/output parameters of all the tasks in a completed process instance, for debugging/administration purpose.
completed tasks cannot be returned to the NWA even though they are partly available in the system.
Can you explain more about "partly available in the system" ?

Error "Could not retrieve process instance" w UWL-GP thru Load Balancer

Hi,
We're using NW'04s EP SP14 for developing our portal website. An external load balancer balances the load between two portal instances CI & DI.
We are getting an Exception "Could not retrieve process instance: contact your system administrator" when we try to access the UWL Requests through the Load Balancer though it is working fine with the direct HostName in the URL.
SAP Note 1026119 did not solve the issue.
Has anyone faced such an issue before?

A few process instances in automatic activity simultaneously

I am creating and initiating new process instance using Global Creation activity. I have put screenflow in Global Creation. An instance after completing the screenflow in Global Creation activity goes to BeginIn of the process. When I test it many times I get only from time to time warning:
Instance '/BackgroundUpdate#Default-1.0/157/0@xxx' is not in activity '/BackgroundUpdate#Default-1.0/doUpdate'.
Details: Instance is in activity '/BackgroundUpdate#Default-1.0/WaitToProcessNextPackage' and has status 'RUNNING (1)'.
"doUpdate" and "WaitToProcessNextPackage" are activities (automatic components) placed after Begin in the process ("doUpdate" is subsequent for BeginIn and "WaitToProcessNextPackage" is subsequent to "doUpdate" activity). When I get this warning no logic is executed for the process instance in "doUpdate" activity.
How to solve it? Only one process instance created with Global Creation activity can be in one automatic activity? If there two process instances simultaneously in automatic activity, then one them won't be processed?

Any application running in Oracle RAC clusterware is considered as a service. What is a service in the windows,its kinda same. If its a part of RAC and an application and running,its service.

Searching Multiple Process instances

is it possible to search for multiple process instances with a singly search query.
I need to search for all instances for process TestProcess1 & TestProcess2. Can i avoid calling the connectTo method twice.

Try this logic to hit the ProcessService component if you want to hit multiple processes. Included in this are two different techniques (see "loop 1" and "loop 2") for its use.
Note the "finally" ("on exit") logic at the bottom to disconnect. Don't forget to do this when using ProcessService.

INTERRUPT process types authorization in process chain

Hi all ,
I include INTERRUPT step in one of my process chains but I'm not able to change it on live system because of unsufficient authorization . We have sufficient authorization just for START variant on process chains on production system however we also need to have schedule authorization for INTERRUPT process since I need to schedule it several times in live system. Does anyone know about the process to gather required authorization
