Process instances stop at timer event

Hi,
I modelled a process with intermediate timer event. When this timer expires an automatic activity is invoked which checks certain conditions. If these conditions are not met the process token returns to the timer until the conditions are met and another process path is entered. I observed quite a lot of process instances which stoped at this timer event, meaning: the timer doesn't expire any more and the entire process instance stands still. The reason for this seems to be:
- database filled up (ok, this shouldn't happen. I accept that this has severe consequences)
- restart of application or netweaver
- running process archiving run
Is there a way to reactivate these process instances other than aborting the current instance and starting a new one?
Timer events use GalaxyTimerJob. I assume an appropriate database entry failed. Can I add this missing table entry by executing SQL commands or isn't it as easy as that?
Thanks
Regards
Anja

Hi Nick,
yes, suspending and resuming doesn't change anything. 'Instance restart': you mean restarting NetWeaver? In fact, it seems to me, that fixes the problem for some process instances, but too many stay in their "corrupt" status.
Can I execute some SQL statements to add this GalaxyTimerJob database entry? Even if there are such statements, would it be too critical as the various process instances might be in different states and the execution of such statements might rather brake than fix things?
Regards
Anja

  • How to access biz data of process instances in workspace at any time in 11g

    Hi,
    We are using Oracle BPM Suite 11g.
    Our users want to be able to check and search the business data associated with the process instance at any time (i.e. even after the instance is completed. And the business data should be included in the task list or search result list in the BPM workspace.
    I am new to Oracle BPM 11g. Please help. For the data to be displayed in the workspace, should I define them as “Process Data Objects”?
    Regarding to how to display the data, I find something about Flexfield. But the Oracle document says the Flexfield is for the data that saved in human workflow database schema. When the process instance is completed, will the data in human workflow database for this instance be removed? Can I setup flexfield for the Process Data Objects?

    Hi Ramandeep,
    Apparently I am not getting the required exception.
    I have a TF that outputs an Invalid Region Site when I run it and the when I run it I only got the loading page image of ADF.
    Looking at JDEV logs, I see an Invalid Region Site error
    Here's what I did, I created a TF template with only one view in it like this.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252" ?>
    <adfc-config xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/controller" version="1.2">
      <task-flow-template id="TFTemplate">

          <page>/com/test/errorPage.jsff</page>
        </view>
        <use-page-fragments/>
      </task-flow-template>
    </adfc-config>My error page as this:
    <af:panelGroupLayout id="pgl1">
         <af:outputText value="Error has occurred!" id="ot2"/>
         <af:outputText value="#{pageFlowScope.MyErrorHandler.stacktrace}" id="ot1"/>
    </af:panelGroupLayout>...and my bean.
    public class MyErrorHandler
      public String getStacktrace() {
        ControllerContext context = ControllerContext.getInstance();
        ViewPortContext currentRootViewPort = context.getCurrentRootViewPort();
        Exception exceptionData = currentRootViewPort.getExceptionData();
        if (currentRootViewPort.isExceptionPresent())
          if(exceptionData!=null)
            return exceptionData.getMessage();
        return null;
      }But exception data still returns null.
    I exactly wanted to show this invalid region site but it seems I cannot catch it.
    Any idea why?

  • How to stop Timer event inside movie clip that does not exist?

    Hello. I am using Adobe Flash CS6.
    As this topic title says. how to stop Timer event nside movieclip that does not exist?
    I mean my fla stracture is  there are 2 frames on main timeline, and I put mcA on frame 2.
    And I put a button on root that does
    if(currentFrame ==1)
    gotoAndStop(2);
    else if (currentFrame ==2)
    gotoAndStop(1);
    And mcA has AS inside and it is
    var T_Timer:Timer = new Timer(1000,0)
    T_Timer.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER, test)
    function test(e:TimerEvent):void{
    trace("Timer active")
    T_Timer.start();
    I need to stop T_TImer from root on frame 1, not on frame 2.
    but, "mcA.T_Timer.stop();" won't work.
    I get TypeError: Error #1010 error.
    I don't know how to stop this timer event. I have to stop it from root, and I can't use EVENT_REMOVED in this case.

    If the object doesn't exist you cannot do anything relative to targeting it.  Maybe you should move the timer to the main timeline where you can access it any time.

    I thought maybe there was a conflict between firefox and yosemite so downgraded firefox but the messages keep flowing.
    anyone have an idea of what this means and how to stop it?
    my guess was that the spinning beach ball is likely related to whatever application is trying to use some event not supported by Service instances.
    this is on a 2013  27" imac, 3.2GHz, 16GB RAM, macOSX 10.10

    Well I found a way to stop this error. I stopped the ftp service/server (whatever) and unloaded it
    using a couple of commands i found from someone else who had an issue with starting and stopping their ftp service.
    >>  launchctl stop com.apple.ftpd
    >>  launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ftp.plist
    ran as root. this completely changed the behavior of my computer response. spinning beach balls seemed to have stopped (substantial reduction at this point)
    i guess if something comes along and says it won't work due to missing ftp service, i'll deal with it at that time.
    problem is solved for now.

  • It is have  to process IT2011 ?when have wrong time event records?

    hi,
    I use the report "RPTEUP10" upload the all time events records to SAP from time recording system, no matter it is multiple clock in or clock out(unconsciously,because someone think maybe the first time he not  brush on, so he brush the card again,so there will be 2 time events records ); or maybe it is lost clock in or clock out records.
    my question is : if I don't process those wrong records at 2011(because my customers don't want to correct those records,he hope just give the warning message ),
    if the time evaluation can carry out  to finish the end step?
    now I test at my ides system ,and find I have to process the wrong records at 2011, otherwise the time
    evaluation will not carry out, the system will give me error message .
    for example:
    one employee at start time 06:00,  enter "clock in "twice  ,
    the first record is: 05:58:00 clock in;
    the second record is 05:59:00 clock in
    then I run the PT60(TM00),the system give me error message at "Call rule TD20"
    "Error entry no. 20 No clock-out entry"
    so I have to correct the time events at 2011.
    I want to know if I no need to correct the time events at 2011 ,and the time evaluation can carry out to finish?
    or if I can write some PCR to processed the TIP table ? such as insert or delete the time event at the TIP, so that the time evaluation can carry out and finish?
    who can tell me how to solve this question?
    thanks!
    Olivia Yang

    Hi Olivia,
    Ok as per my understanding you want to have a waring generated when the TIP entries it means either the intime or outtime is missing then and at the same time the TIP entries should be generated automatically.
    1st thing setting a warning yes we can control it.
    Next Updating the TIP entries.
    Ex: Assume XYZ employee has a shift of 8:00 to 18:00 now he forgets to swipe in so there will be just one entry that is 18:00 and the Time Evaluation will fail as intime cannot be detected.If we write a PCR which will update the intime as per his workshedule then there in no where that the infotype in PA30 will get updated IT2011.
    And even if we ensure that Time Evaluation runs then there will be a mismatch between the results and infotype data.Please kindly explain this to your customer.
    Thanks

  • How to Stop the timer in the TimedTrigger UI element when an event occurs

    Hi all
    I have a webdynpro View where i have many UI elements(which supports an event)  along with TimedTrigger UI element.
    Now my requirement , i want to check at single line if any event happens in the View then i want to stop the timer in the TimedTrigger UI element.
    can you please provide any peace of code related to this??
    Thanks
    Bindu

    Hi Bindu,
    From help.sap.com:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/03/7c6b40dde0980ae10000000a155106/frameset.htm
    To prevent events being triggered by UI element TimedTrigger, proceed as follows:
    1. Disable the action that is bound to the UI elementu2019s onAction property.
    Can be done as:
    wdThis.wdGet<Your_TimedTrigger_action>Action().setEnabled(false);
    2. Set the value of the delay to 0 seconds
    As suggested in previous post to this thread.
    3. Disable UI element TimedTrigger
    Create a boolean type of context attribute and bind it to the "enabled" property of the Timed Trigger. Set its value to false to disable the timed trigger.

  • 'End Terminate' event does not completely terminate the process instance!

    Hi,
    my process make use of the 'End Terminate' event, this will be used pending on the outcome of a prior task, using the 'Exclusive' gateway. This works quite well but in case of process termination some strange behavior happens.
    The Enterprise Manager tell me that the process instance is in state 'Terminated' but the BPM Workspace in the 'Process Tracking' tab this instance is still in state 'Running' and if I check the WFTASK database table the process instance is still in state 'OPEN' and not 'CANCELED'.
    So my question is, do I use the 'End Terminate' event the wrong way or is this a bug/feature?
    Thanks in advance,
    Daniel
    PS: I use BPM Suite 11.1.1.5 with Feature Pack.

    If we see a human task active even after termination end event is not considered a bug... I'm sorry, but i think that if every task active in the process instance is not terminated or "killed", the terminate end event is not working well. So we are talking about a bug.
    If I'm wrong, what is the expected behavior of teminate end event?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Resume process instance after exception handling with an event subprocess

    We have a process with several automatic activities so we implement an event-based subprocess to catch any exception that occurs in the process.
    Since the error event is an interrupting event, how could we control the exception and resume the process where it was?
    BPM version 11.1.1.7
    Any suggestion?
    Thank you

    Know this isn't the answer you are looking for, but the answer to this gets much better in 12c where you can go back into the process after catching an exception in an event subprocess.
    In 11g however, once you catch an exception in an event subprocess you cannot go back where you left off in the main process.
    These are not great options I know, but here are a couple things I've seen to work around this:
    Exception error events in event subprocesses are always interrupting so one solution would be to instead use boundary events on the individual activities where the exceptions will occur.  Know you know this, but the down side of this is that it makes your process incredibly cluttered with boundary events.
    Catch the error in the event subprocess -> handle the cause of the exception -> exit the process -> invoke the process again.  The problem with this is that you would not be starting where you left off and where the error occurred.  You could work around this by having an exclusive gateway that directed it to the right activity in the process.

  • Process IT2011 ?when have wrong time event records?

    hi,
    We uploaded the all time events records to SAP from time recording system and  maybe it is lost clock in or clock out records
    in such case we need to reduced the hours of that day to half.
    my question is : how to reduce the number of hours to half of the daily working hours in that case.
    For Example:-

    are you using positive time or negative time management......if positive, the system will not pay..i think..
    In the case of negative...you need to development Zreport with the help of abaper by considering all such scenarios exist in the company....Based on the report output, the time administrator has to change the data manually....we did this in our earlier prj...

  • BPM 11g - Abort process instance

    I have a BPMN process that does 3 things:
    1. Calls the third party interface
    2. Starts the Timer proces aynchronously. This timer process is to make sure that the task gets picked up up an admin user (Human Task);if we don't get the response within the agreed time limit.
    3. Awaits the response.
    So, when we get the response back from the backend system, it should do 2 things:
    1. Stop the timer process.This could either be in a waiting state (i.e if the timer hasn't expired) or might have moved to the Human task step.
    2. Notify the awaiting instance so that it is then moved onto the next step in the process.
    I have used correlationId to match the request and response.It is working (with Send/Receive task) and notifying the waiting instance, but I am not sure how to abort the running Timer process.
    Should I use an interrupting event subprocess in my Timer process, that if called should throw an exception. This will then move the Timer process instance to the Exception handling flow and that will lead to the termination of the process instance, or is there a better way to achieve this. TaskService is the other option I thought of, but to achieve this simple thing, I thought that would be an overkill. Is there a re-commended pattern to meet this requirement.
    Thanks

    Hi Raj
    1. Terminate means you want to End that Process no matter where it is at any instance of time. Say if I have BPM Process with 10 SwimLanes it can be at any of the Lanes with any User. I am taking simple Example with Human Tasks, but you can apply for other component like Timer servces etc.
    2. I hope you are aware of 2 things specially for Human Tasks: Action named "Withdraw" and a role named "Process Owner". For any human task, under Actions menu you should See a Withdraw option. You can code your application to capture this output using XOR gateway and if outcome is "WITHDRAW" directly end the process and go to End Node. If you have many places like this, there is easy way instead of running wires eveywhere. Create a simple throw even that goes to End Node. And after each human task check outcome if Withdraw, that that error, which will end the process. I hope you got the point.
    b) The reason I mentioned Process Owner is, generally I do NOT give Withdraw control to each User who can work on any Task. If accidentally that User do this action, thats it. The process ENDS and you can never retriive it back. So under .TASK file, I preven Withdraw action to Asssignee and Instead give this action only to OWNER (Process Owner). Process owner is like admin who can pretty much see any tasks and I would give him all the permissions like these Withdraw, Reassing, Suspend etc etc. This gives more controlled power to your application. Anyhow, in bpm workspace, login as process owner and search for any Task aged for long time and jus Withdraw it.
    You can do all the above using APIs also as far as you have Withdraw action going to the End Node.
    If your requirement is something else, ignore above notes. But still you can think along the above lines, if all you want is to Kill a Running Process anytime.

  • BPM 11g- Terminate process instance

    Hi,
    How can I terminate a process instance that could either be sitting in an Human Interactive or a Timer activity.
    TaskService is one solution but I don't want to take that route to achieve this simple requirement. Is there any recommended pattern to implement this.
    I also thought of an event boundary with interuupting event, but not sure what to write there..
    It was easy in Oracle BPm 10G where you could have a Notification Wait with interrupt and that is attached to an "Automatic" activity where we could say:
    this.action=ABORT;
    Thanks

  • Process Instances do not appear in BPEl console

    HI everybody
    I have a Asyn BPEL worflow which consists of a receive business event lisening to a change in database which in turn initiates a BPEL flow.The problem i am facing is that when i do make a change in database everything works fine but i am not able to see the process instances generated , in BPEL console instantly. I have to restart the BPEL server one or more time in order to view them on the console. have any body faced a similar prob ??

    SOA version ? Able to see the processes in the manual recovery section ? Processes disappear or insatnces ?
    Errors in the logs ? What happens if you randomly click on various tabs of the console - still unable to see the previous instances ?

  • Weblogic Timer Event Generator - How it works?

    Hello everyone!
    I have wrote simple wli-application, that subscribes to the message broker channel.
    I have deployed it to the cluster (managed servers 1 (ms1) and 2(ms2)). (I use Weblogic Server 10.3, cluster contains 1 admin server and 2 managed servers.)
    Than I have created the timer event generator (EG) via wliconsole and rule for this EG - to send message to the MB-channel every 30 seconds.
    Then I redeploy EG application via console (WLS Admin Console) from managed server 1 to cluster (m.servers 1 and 2) and start it.
    Everything started ok - I got messages to both instatnces of my application in the following way:
    15:30:00 - to instance on ms1
    15:30:30 - to instance on ms2
    15:31:00 - to instance on ms1
    15:31:30 - to instance on ms2
    ...and so on
    when I shut down ms2 - I started to receive messages to instance of my application on ms1 every 30 secodns. Here Everything is OK.
    Then I start ms 2 and got the picture like:
    15:30:00 - to instance on ms1
    15:30:30 - to instance on ms2
    15:31:00 - to instance on ms1
    15:31:30 - to instance on ms2
    ...and so on
    Then I shutdown ms1... And that's all - no messages to instance on ms2 :(
    I started ms1 and no messages on both instances - on ms1 and ms2..
    Can you explain me how Timer Event Generator works? What resources it uses? And how can I setup it to get load-balancing while both instances running and failover - when one of the instances shutdowned?
    Thanks in advance,
    Vladimir.

    Hi Vladimir, it seems like we must have different environments. I don't know if you used the latest version of wli or not...
    So, not exactly for you, but for someone who happens to read this post, and has the same problems we did...
    -- I've configured the cluster address using the IP i've assigned to the servers.
    --- it means that it is like: 192.168.70.120:8013,192.168.70.120:8113 - ip's & PORT, yes?
    Yes, that's the format we are using (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13222_01/wls/docs92/cluster/setup.html#wp751583)
    -- Configured the FrontEndHost and FrontEndPort with that same values as the AdminServer.
    --- and you have the http-proxy deployed on your admin server? 'cause front-end host and port - must be the host and port of http-proxy that performs load-balancing for requests to your processes on your managed servers.
    Actually we don't need the HTTP load balance, we only start the process via EG events, so we only benifit from load balancing on the JMS queues, but i had to configure this to be able to start the process. We had errors if we didn't configure this. We used the AdminServer address and port.
    -- Relocated the Persistent Stores and JMS Servers since some were incorrectly pointing to the AdminServer.
    ---I didn't understand about what p.stores you are talking about.. I meant that you must create new JDBC p.store with table in cgDataSource and targeted to migratable target. And than you must create a new jms-server, which hosted to this p.store.
    ...But I didn't retarget any existing p.stores......
    Once the domain was created (didn't do anything but to follow the wizard) we had the persistent stores (and underlying JMS servers) targeted to the AdminServer (obviously incorrect). So we retargeted them to the Managed Server.
    -- Created the JSP_<PROCESS> table in the database.
    --- and what is this? :)
    We had to create a table to persist the wli process state, because it is a statefull process (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13214_01/wli/docs102/dbtuning/wliTuning.html)
    The matter of fact is everything works fine, despite the exceptions i mentioned in the AdminServer, once it gets started... But it seems to have no negative impact on the application, and migration is done successfully
    I will continue to work on figuring out what the origin of those exceptions is, and if i manage to find a solution i, most surely, will post it here... One thing i find to be strange is that the exceptions start even before i have anything deployed to the Migratable Target... Once i create it and restart the server i get those messages, and we tried the Concensus configuration with NodeManager, as well as the Database configuration.
    I guess that what's really important for us now is that we do have fail over and load balancing working... :D
    I don't know if it would be abusive to ask you for that document of yours, maybe it has some clue on what's wrong in our config, but again, i understand if you can't share that =)
    By the way, i'm portuguese, but since google made the translator available, i guess i can manage russian documentation as well ;)
    I can't tell you how gratefull i am for your help, and for sharing your previous experience with the rest of us. If it wasn't for your altruism i guess i would be stuck with this for much longer... you sure saved my day... BIG BIG thank you..
    Once again, thank you and i wish you all the best !!! I just wished i could be helpfull to you sometime =)

  • Time Event Confirmation

    Hi.
    I am doing time event confirmations for certain operations.
    I have a break time defined in shift sequence as well as available cappacity.
    When confirmation is posted for start of processing and end of processing, this break time is automatically subtracted by system in posting  confirming / actual hours.
    Above break time is needed to be defined in work center so that it is considered during Scheduling of operation.
    now my client requirement is flexible time off during confirmation.
    in co19 dring time event confirmation, workers will take break by puasing the operation process start and interrupt option in
    time event confirmation  so this time will automatically subtracted from actual confirmation time as and when needed.
    in this case i want system to stop subtracting break time from actual confirmations.( is till need to define it in shift sequence so that it is considered in scheduling)
    let me know your comments.
