BPM scenario help

Hello All,
              Here i am new to BPM. But here i got a scenario which involves BPM. can any one help me in the integration process logic for
            one sender interface and multiple interfaces. only one sender and one receiver.
please dont tell that we need not go for BPM . we can use multimapping without BPM. in my case i am going to use the proxies to post data to R/3. where as it is not possible for multimapping when we use XI adapter. please help me in this scenario.
           sender side :: one file server, one interface, file adapter.
        receiver side::::: one R/3 server, three interfaces, XI adapter.
please give me the logical diagram if possible . else atleast describe the logic to use in integration process.
pleaseeeeeeee help me in this scenario.

Hi,
I want to implement a scenario like this. a third party system use the soap adapter to call the ECC RFC via XI.and i want to write the RFC response into another DB using the jdbc adapter.after that i want to send back the DB update_insert result to soap client (third party system).so the scenario looks like this

Hi,
This will be a Synch Asycnh Scenario and you will need a BPM with a SYNCH ASYNCH bridge.
Steps :
1. Receiver Request Message from SOAP -- Open SA Bridge
2. Send Syunchronous -- To call RFC and get Response
3. Send Synchronous -- TO send data to JDBC and get response
4. Send -- TO send data back to SOAP -- Close SA Bridge.
You will have to do the corresponding message mapping , etc.

Help with simple file to file BPM scenario

Hi Gurus,
I am doing simple file to file BPM scenario.
I am getting an error in SXI_CACHE with status code 99.
I activated the business process then status code changed to 2.
When i tried to activate the process again i am getting prompted to enter access key details.
Is there any other way to get rid of the error i.e., to get the status code to zero with giving access key details.Sample access key details are also greatly appreciated.

and got a mail with details.I was actually looking for access key details in the mail from sap.The details in the mail contains License key but not access key .Are the both access key and license key same?

BPM Scenarios not working

Hi All
I have done a simple file_2_file and SOAP_RFC scenario. Both of them are perfectly working fine.
Now I did a simple file_2_file scenario using BPM and this doesn't work. When I go the transaction SXI_CACHE, it shows as "Cache contents are obsolete". Also, in SXMB_MONI, when I see the messages, only sender interface is there and no part of the BPM messages are shown.
I am sure that my BPM configuration is perfect as its a simple example which I implemented from one of blogs.
Do I have make any settings for a BPM scenario to work? Please help.

Hi Moorthy,
I already implemented your blog. After activating all the objects, I just tried SXI_CACHE, it says the "Cache contents are obsolete". Also, my previous scenarios doesn't work. Now If I take out the BPM scenario, I mean if I delete the scenario, then the previous scenarios start working fine.
Any solution please?

Webservice response in BPM scenario

I am doing a BPM scenario where I take data from ERP asynchronously using proxy and send it as a request to a third party synchronous webservice. The webservice gives a response and I am using the response to send it further along to other systems.
Everything works fine if correct messages are sent and received. The problem starts when PI/BPM receives an un-expected response from the webservice. If the webservice sends an unknown error message in the response, the mapping fails and goes into the error queue. (smq2)
And the real problem is every successful message or response after that also goes into the same queue and getting stuck. Why is this happenning? Do we need to monitor and clear the error queues all the time so that subsequent successful messages go through BPM corrrectly?
Do you guys think it is a cache problem or something else?

this is because there is no proper error handling in your BPM.
you need to handle the exceptions in case of mapping or communication failures.

File to RFC to File with BPM Scenario

Hi all,
 I am trying to implement a Sender File ( async ) to RFC (sync ) to Receiver File with a BPM. I using the blog https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/1926. [original link is broken] But it doesnt work. First message FileRequestOut is correct in SXMB-MONI, but the second is showing a error. I checked in SXMB-MONI-BPE and I say in workitem is follow message:

 I have seen in SDN, this error maybe Sencond Step must be Synchronous e Third Step must be Synchronous too. Is it true? In other hand, I have seen, it is possible to use a Async / Sync Brigde.

 it is possible to use a Async / Sync Brigde.
 No need to use Asyn Sync Step for this

Error in BPM Scenario

hi,
Using a BPM scenario (File->File). In SXMB_MONI the status of the process is showing "Scheduled for Outbound Processing", with a green flag associated with it. How would I go about troubleshooting this error? Have checked SM58 and made sure all the queues are registered and activated. Also no messages show up in SXMB_MONI_BPE. Could you please guide on how to proceed?

BPM Scenario : How to Proceed ?

hi folks,
I am working on a BPM scenario .
Scenario goes like this : I want to pick the data from a file and post the data into SAP using a RFC and get some data in response .now data which came back as a response from RFC response should be written in a XML file whose name should be dynamically generate and then the name of the dynamically generated XML file should go into a table.
My BPM is like this
Step 1 : Receive ( For collecting the data from file)
Step 2 : Sync Call to RFC ( For making a sync call to RFc and then sending back the resp data)
Step 3 : Send Step ( For sending the response data to XML file , name should be dynamically generated)
Step 4 : Send step ( For sending the dynamic file name of XML file to Table)
Till step 3 i have worked fine and getting the desired output also ( as i am getting the dynamic file name in the output xml file) but after that not sure how to proceed...
how to push the dynamic file name from XML file to Table.
Now my doubts...
Is design of my BPM is right...? if not please correct me...and also if there is any other way to get the same functionality ?

-->hw r u generating the filename? is it thru a field in ur structure that u are capturing by setting adapter specific attributes in receiver file adapter config?

-->if yes, then use that field only to get the file name. in ur last send step u can use a mapping to trasfer this field into the target structure for oracle database.

i hav a scenario where i need to send multile file formats to an synchronous R/3 system and from R/3 it needs to be forwarded to the Target system in file format... its a BPM scenario...
i need to CHK the sequence of Steps or Pipeline process to knw where exaclty the message is at each piont of time...

its possible to do the same using the ALERT Framework also...for the same pls go through the info provided below.
From SP 14 on PMI-free alerting was introduced. That means before SP 14 one has to configure and activate the End-to-End Monitoring, and to schedule the report SXMSALERT_PROCESS_DATA_GET in order to extract the alerts from the PMI data. For SP 14 and higher, that's not longer necessary.
If no alerts are being delivered, please check if "Suppress multiple alerts of this rule" is checked for your rule.
For SP 14 and higher you could also have a look at the report sxmsalert_logreader. This report shows some information about alerts being created or not.
You'll find more information about trouble shooting the alerting in SAP Note 913858.
Also just check if this batch program (RSALERTPROC) is running or not.

Also, In ALRTCATDEF, go to SETTINGS--> CONFIGURATION. By default, the option selected is INTERNAL PROCESSING. Select the option SMTP FORWARDING AS XML and give the email id. This will enable you to send an email alert whenever an error occurs in XI.

XI File BPM scenario

Hi all,
i have questions regarding the usage of big files with a BPM scenario. The functional requirements are as follows:
1. Pick up large (raw data) file (1MB) from FTP server
2. Drop this file to a second FTP server
3. After the file has been transmitted sucessfully (criticall !), look into a DB and extract information with the help of the filename of the transmitted file and extend the message (in a message mapping)
4. Send this data to ECC and update a custom table
My approach to realise this scenario, would be to perform the DB lookup in a java mapping. Are there any other options?
In addition I am concerned about performance issues, because we will send about 200 files a day (up to 10 at a time) using that interface. Is there a possibility to avoid the integration process?

Hi Floarin,
Your requirment can be accomplished with and without BPM.
With BPM:
To improve performance:
you can use the Concepet of Message Packaging For BPE which is best suited for requirment of your kind i.e where you have multiple files coming in in bunch.
you can also define receive of a file on a FTP under a block only as you are not using file content and you need file name only.
Please use JDBC look up only it will improve the Performance to a greate extend.
After JDBC look up you can use that Data to write into ECC
Without BPM:
You can find Modules that can extract file name and pass that file name to JDBC look up and then output of JDBC to ECC.
Even here also you can use Concept of Message Packaging.
To handle Exception you can use Alert

I am searching for a BPM scenario which shows the need for BPM. I might use: JDBC, File, RFC and IDOC adapters.
Could you quickly describe me a scenario making use of those adapters which also has a business use case in the background?

Hi Gokhan,
Consider a Scenario with 2 senders and 1 receiver.the explanation is given below.
The steps to be followed to have 2 senders and 1 receiver in your case, we need to follow the following steps:
1) RFC from A will trigger the BPM.
2) Receive step
3) Send step (sync) to call RFC in B
4) Transform step map response from B and A's data to C
5) Send step send the output to C.
Think these 2 blogs can help you to configure a BPM using RFC synchronous call.
