Broken DIGITAL SIGNATURE TOSHIBA
Good afternoon. I have a problem with my laptop. The system tells me that I have a broken digital signature. I tried to resolve the problem downloading the driver that the people here said, but nothing happen. My computer is a Toshiba, Satellite L305; Windows XP. Please someone help me. Thanks a lot.

You don't have a problem. The message is bogus. Just tell your AV program to ignore that situation.
If the message disturbs you, tell us much more. Which AV program? Which Satellite L305? Exactly what does the following mean?

So in the process of updating my phone... some how or another it crashed because it would not even come on anymore so apple sent me another one... this time the mic didn't work... so apple sent me another one.. can't sync any apps or my contacts. An error message appears saying that one or more applications were not synced click the + for more info. I click the + and out to the side of each app it says app was not synced because app is not signed. When avg did a scan it reported that the digital signature was broken for iTunes. I have tried reinstalling iTunes ( the correct way) and still no luck. Does anyone else have a solution for this?
I get this message in the AVG Anti, should I be worry???
It's merely an oversight by Toshiba. Tell AVG to ignore the situation.
Or you can download the current version of the chipset software. The file has been updated.

Digital Signatures: Multiple Tasks and Signers
Hello, All-
Context: We have a repair and overhaul operation that has several technicians performing maintenance. Basic workflow: product comes in, gets the paperwork for the specific maintenance, and then travels through the facility to be broken down, serviced, rebuilt, tested, and returned to service. We would like the "paperwork" to be all electronic (which we can do with Acrobat by using PDF documents), but there are several tasks that require a technician's signature. Not a digital signature for the WHOLE document, just a task in the document.
Objective: Multiple technicians signing off on mutilple tasks, all in one document.
Questions: Can we modify the document (i.e., add/insert pages) in Acrobat after a digital signature is applied using the Reader? Do those signing off on the tasks only need the Reader to create and apply the signature files? Can multiple signature files be stored in a centralized location, since technicians use work station machines (rather than a computer issued specifically to them)?
Doing some investigation for the best solution. Sorry for the series of long questions.> "No. However, this can't be done in Reader under any circumstances... Reader is just that, a reader of PDF files. It can't edit them in any meaningful way, like add new pages (unless a special template was set up for this purpose)."
- I should have clarified: we would like to modify the document using the full Acrobat Suite after digital signature. Signing once locks the entire document from further edits.
> "Not 100% sure about that, but I think the answer is no. Signatures have to located on the local machine."
- That's a problem: then every technician needs a digital signature on every machine. Not suitable at an enterprise/department level.
I just found an answer to the basic concept, as it was answered just yesterday (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1338837): I can leverge the Stamp feature and create a custom stamp to act as a signature. I can still modify the document after applying the stamp.
Now the test: can others remove my stamp?
Edit: Thanks for the help, BTW. I see you edited your answer to question #1. Again, maybe the stamp feature is sufficient? -
When I restart, a window pops up and say my Air is "damaged" and I must uninstall and reinstall the program.
(Maybe it had something to do with my having done systerm restore, but not sure).
I uninstalled but cannot reinstall it now. I can downlaod the file, but When I click the "run", it just disappear and it is not installed.
I ran AVG in case my computer was infected. There is no infection, but it says the Air file which I downloaded
had "broken digital signiture". What does it mean? And why I cannot download Air ?
By the way, there are many websites I cannot go, as basic as Facebook, and very slow and layout is odd.
Is this because my not having Air?A digital signature works by storing a numeric representation of a file or set of files called a hash. If the files are changed, the hash also changes. If your digital signature is "broken" then this could mean that the file has changed since it was signed or it could mean that you computer, in the bad state that it seems to be in, can't compute the hash correctly. I assume you have rebooted at least once.
Microsoft has an install cleanup tool, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301, that sometimes helps in situations like this.
And no, the presence or absence of AIR on your system has no affect on any websites. -
Want insertion of Digital Signature not to require a save
I have an issue that I would appreciate someone's help on. I have been with Adobe Tech Support via their portal. Yet I have not been able to establish whether what I want to accomplish is doable.
What I have is a document that actually consists of several documents, which in aggregate comprises our application for persons wanting to drive for us. For the sake of this scenario please understand that the document is not to be broken up into multiple files. It is created as a single document to facilitate the management of the numerous applicants by in-house staff.
Anyway - this form has multiple digital signatures. The department head insists on this as each section of this document has information to be attested to as original and accurate. However, we find that only the first digital signature is used to certify the document, and any additional serve only in a "confirming" capacity.
So we have this document with multiple digital signatures, the first of which certifies the document and the remaining as "confirmation". And all of these digital signature fields are set as "required" in their properties. The form is developed and presented for testing. So we enter just one of the several digital signatures and attempt to save the file. What we expected to happen was the pop-up of a dialogue to point out that all of the required digital signature fields were not completed. But no such warning arises, and this circumstance "raises an eyebrow" or two within the firm, who expect this edit to appear.
Based on recommendations from Adobe support I go out to the developers site and research scripting. After several hours I come away with a script that will indeed spawn a message when any digital signature is missing. However, another problem arises. After closing out the dialogue box and inserting the first of several missing digital signatures I am immediately required to save the file. The save works and here we have the form with several digital signatures still not signed. This allows the user to forward on the form to us, at which time the file will be reviewed and returned to the user for further completion. And in the event that only one of several missing signatures is entered, and the file again saved and forwarded, this scenario has the potential of being repeated several times.
Is there any way through scripting for the insertion of the digital signature not to spawn a save of the document? Thanks! Is there any isight as to how this is done?
I am currently opening a file from Teamcenter engineering, however if I try to save the file it complains there is another copy open elsewhere (which isn't true). I have to export the file first, save it and then check it back in. It seems to be the only area that behaves like this, as I am able to markup the document add pages, etc and save the document just fine.
If I could remove the save as function and just use "Save" I think that this would help.
Appreciate any/all replies!
Regards,
Sean. -

Hi,
Patchpro failing to validate some patches on 2 of our servers. One is throwing an error (1, below), the other is echoing an error to screen(2).
We are patching around a dozen servers (all SPARC, versions 8, 9 and 10) and these are the only 2 with problems.

Appearance of Digital Signature/Common Name
Hi,
I'm using Adobe Professional 8.1.2 and I'm able to create a digital signature except that it's appearance is broken up. For instance if my name "Maryann Doe" it appears on documents as:
Marya
nn Doe
It's broken up and I can't find way to fix this. I also have another signature that uses my computer login name of "ABCDE" as my common name. I can't find a way to change that either to input my real name. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!Hi,
For the first problem (word wrap). The problem you are encountering is if "Maryanne Doe" is too long to fit in half of the signature field, the text wraps to the next line. The signature appearance that is written into the signature field consists of two halves. The left half contains the graphic properties and the right half contains the text properties.
You need to lengthen the width of the area where the graphics portion of the signature is contained. You can do this one of two way. Either lengthen the physical dimensions of the signature field before you sign. Or, you could create a custom signature appearance where you turn off all of the text properties, which has the effect of giving the whole signature fields over to the graphics portion. To play with custom signature appearances:
Select the Edit > Preferences (Win) or the Acrobat > Preferences (Mac) menu item
Select Security from the Categories list box
Click the New button in the Appearance group box
If you select the No Graphic radio button you give all of the space to the text portion. If you deselect all of the checkboxes in the Configure Text area, you give all of the space to the graphics portion.
While you are in the Preferences dialog, select Identity from the Categories list box. Go ahead and fill in all of the editable fields. This is where the data is procured during the creation of a self-signed digital ID. I think that will fix the second issue you raised.

Boot failure: Digital signature not found
Just bought a Toshiba Satellite C885D-S5320 and it was working great. Packed it up this morning, unpacked it a few seconds later and tried to turn it on. Got a message that reads "Boot failure: a proper digital signature was not found. One of the files on the selected boot device was rejected by the Secure Boot feature."
I didn't make a recovery disk but tried to use the hidden recovery feature I'd found out here. Worked great to abou 76%, then that message came up again. Help???Re: SATELLITE C855D-S5320 Help me please!

I bought the same computer from Walmart for my daughter for Christmas. I have had to send it in three times to have the hard drive fixed as it showed the same error that you were getting. I was very mad as the first time I had to pay $25 to have them ship me the box to send it in to them. I also tried at first to return it back to Walmart but was told it was to late and I would have to go through Toshiba. I just received it back again today. They have had to replace the hard drive three times. This is ridiculous as I have had several other computers and laptops and have never had to have a hard drive replaced before. I told them I was not paying the last two times to send it in for repair as it should never of had to go to them the first time. The girl did send me the box free the last two times but honestly I think they should just give me a whole new computer as I think these ones are lemons! I cannot believe a brand new computer would need to have a hard drive replaced 3 times in 5 months! The girl advised me if it had to go back again they would probably finally do something. I sure hope your is working better then mine. -
Download problems digital signature and unknown publisher
I have tried to download adobe reader and it goes halfway then stops and comes up with ( digital signature and unknown publisher ). I am running windows vista with an adminastrator account.
All help would be appreciatedSatellite M305-S4910
I don't believe that model has a recovery partition. If you didn't burn the recovery discs, then you should order them.

Mac G3 w/ Tiger 10.4.3 update problem/issue "digital signature incorrect"
I have an old G3 on which I reloaded 10.4.3 yesterday (Retail copy). It did not go very smoothly. This is the 3rd install; 1st install was several months ago with this chip, 2nd install was shortly after that with a PowerLogix chip which didn't work. I put the old chip/processor back in yesterday and reinstalled again. I don't remember if I messed with the firmware or not with the previous installs.
PowerMacG3, Model 1.1, PowerPC750, 256meg, BootRom 1.1.1f4
The software updater tells me I need to update to 10.4.8. When I proceed with this, the system downloads the software OK, but when it attempts to install the update I get the following error:
The update "Mac OS X Update Combined (PowerPC) can't be installed.
The digital signature for this package is incorrect.
The package may have been tampered with or corrupted since being signed by "Apple".
Any ideas as to how I resolve this? Could the problem be with the OS registration, and the different chips?
Thanks in advance.

PowerMac G3 Mac OS X (10.4.3)Thank you for replying to my post.
Yes, I can do a nozzle check with the USB unplugged,
and I still get poor results on the C82 and nothing
on the C86. I just can't believe both printers are
broken. The C86 is new, and they were both working
fine previously.
Epsons are notorious for getting their print heads clogged. Run the clean print head routine a few times. If that doesn't work, return the new printer 'cause it's dead out of the box. The old printer, well, once Epson print heads get to a certain level of clogging, nothing will unclog them. Toss the printer and get a new one. Hint: HP and (some) Canon printers put the print heads in the ink cartridges, while Epson and (some) Canons have the print heads in the printers. Machines which have the heads in the carts also have an easy fix for severe clogs: toss the cart. Warning: HP printer drivers stink.
If you don't need colour, you might think seriously about getting a low-end laser.
I just got the C82 to print readably, but still
completely missing magenta and with minimal
fuzziness. This was just dumb luck though, from
letting the printer sit idle for several hours.
It's still clogged. Clean the heads a few times again, or just toss it.
And yes, I've tried setups through the Print & Fax
pref pane, which usually works better than going
through the Printer Setup Utility which tends to
freeze and crash.
I wish I could afford to just buy another printer.
But I'm still worried it's something to do with my
computer, since both printers are having problems
simultaneously, and they're both really good
all-purpose printers.
It's not your machine. It's Epson.

Itunes 7.4.3 digital signature invalid
I have a new Toshiba tablet with Windows Vista. have been trying to download and install iTunes several times. Each time, it completes the download but iTunes743setup.exe is blocked by a Windows Security Error that says that the the file doesn't have a valid digital signature. Any ideas?
well.... tryed saving the download file instead of running it. Seemed to download and save just fine, in fact it was much quicker. at the end of the download it asked if I wanted to run the file. Answered yes and it gave the same message as before. Then went to the downloads directory and ran it from there. It did ask me if I was sure I wanted to run the program but this time I was able to ok it. The installer started but then apparently there was an error installing quicktime and therefore itunes wouldn't install. Wonder if quictime has to be downloaded separately. The installation dialog box for iTunes said it would install both.

Update on 10.6.8 fails due to digital signature on update is missing
wanting to install the Parallels version 10 and it won't work on 10.6.8 version of my Mac OS so I learned how to go to the software update which indicates an update is available. When I go ahead and load the update it runs fine and then stops with a message that the Macbook Pro EFI Firmware Update can't be saved. It says the digital signature on the update is missing or invalid.
I don't know if the digital signature is on my computer or the update? I would upgrade to a more recent version of the OS but don't know what will work.
Can anyone help?
DanParallels 10 isn't compatible with 10.6 according to the web site.
Mac Requirements
Hardware:
A Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor (Core Solo and Core Duo processors are no longer supported)
Minimum 2 GB of memory (4 GB of memory is recommended to run Windows 7 in a virtual machine or if your host OS is Lion)
About 850 MB of disk space on the boot volume (Macintosh HD) for Parallels Desktop installation
About 15 GB of disk space for each virtual machine
Software:
OS X Yosemite 10.10 or later
OS X Mavericks 10.9.4 or later
Mac OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.5 or later
Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 or later
Check that your computer is compatible with Mountain Lion/Mavericks/Yosemite.
To check the model number hold down the option/alt key, go to the Apple menu and select System Information.
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) model number 5,1 or higher
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) model number 3,1 or higher
Your Mac needs:
OS X v10.6.8 or OS X Lion already installed
2 GB or more of memory (More is better - 4 GB minimum seems to be the consensus)
8 GB or more of available space
Check to make sure your applications are compatible. PowerPC applications are no longer supported after 10.6.

Do a backup before installing.
If you can/do upgrade, I recommend you make a copy of the installer and move it out of your Applications folder. The installer self-destructs. The copy will keep you from having to download the installer again. You can make a bootable USB stick to install using this free program.

Can't back up files because of one video, no DVD recorder
How do I back up my music and not include the one long video that I have? It's a 900 mb file. My laptop does not include a DVD burner so I can't use DVD R discs. I unchecked the video, but iTunes still wants to back it up and insists on a blank DVD.
