Browser is disabled by IT Policy

When I try to access an internet site on my blackberry I get the message "Browser is disabled by IT Policy". Yet if a link in embedded in an email the browser connects to the site correctly.

The same IT policy is applied to all other BlackBerries in the company (BES with Exchange) and they do not have the problem.  We resent the IT policy to the handheld but that did not solve the problem.  We also changed the IT Policy to allow any Browser and applied it to the BlackBerry then the browser worked on the BlackBerry.  Changed the IT policy back and the problem came back.
Talked to Verizon Wireless tech support and they are out of ideas

I just had this problem, and what I did to solve it was checking the "browser" setting when editing each bookmark. In my case it was set to "hotspot browser" which was disabled under the IT policy. Updated each bookmark that didn't work to "internet browser" and the issue had been resolved. Hopefully this solution will work for you as well.

Users cannot access removable devices after you enable and then disable a Group Policy setting on Windows 7 64 bit machines.
on the 32 bit machines I was able to apply this hotfix
    http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/2738898
But it will not install on 64 bit machines.
Is there a hotfix for 64 bit?  If not, what is the work around?
    Thanks!

Select "Show hotfixes for all platforms and languages", then download x64 hotfix:

  • ActiveSync popup HTML is disabled by IT policy

    Hello,
After updating BlackBerry Z10/Q10 to 10.2.1.537, each compose, reply or forward through ActiveSync accounts pop up "HTML is disabled by IT policy". Deleting the account from the device and adding it back doesn't resolve the issue. I know you can ignore the popup and tap "More, HTML format" on each message, but it seems this is a step backwards. Anyone else experiencing this?
(Server is MDaemon 13.6.2; ActiveSync is 14.1; MDaemon has no HTML/text policies)
    Thanks!

To compose you can hit the three dots and select HTML Formatting. Forwarding an HTML is where the problem is the worst.

  • Disabling OID Password Policy

    Hi,
I had a problem of OID password expiry due to the default password policy expiry of 60 days. I resolved the issue using oidpwd utility and using Oracle Directory Manager (ODM). Now I want to change the password policy settings. Here I've a doubt that
,instead of changing the policy whether is it possible to disable the password policy. I found one option in the ODM->Password Policy management' --> Cn=PWDPolicyEntry , in the General tab, Password Policy ENABLE/DISABLE in a list box.
Could anyone please explain what would happen if i select 'DISABLE' to disable the password Policy?

Post in the OID forum... the lads there will help you.

  • Can't view PDF files in browser without disabling add-on.

    Hi,
I have a situation where the website i'm using tries to open a PDF file on screen/in browser, but unfortunately it doesn't actually open, i just get a grey screen. The only way around this is by disabling the adobe reader add-on.
The only problem is, another piece of software that we use requires this adobe reader enabled to work, so I need a solution.
Can anyone advise? I'm currently on Internet Explorer 9.

    Hi Gary,
Yes, you can by using the plugin from Schubert.
    Plugin PDF Safari
After the installation open your PDF Application en deselect in the Internet section >Show PDF in browser<
    Good luck ...

  • Computer Browser Service disabled on DCs

    I have 2 DCs...
    1) Physical Server 2012 - GC, DNS Integrated, DHCP
    2) Virtual Server 2012  - GC, DNS Integrated, DHCP, FSMO, RID Master, PDC Master, Infrastructure Master
While troubleshooting network browsing on a 2003 server, I noticed that the Computer Browser service is disabled on both these DCs.  Is this right?  We do have some computers that are workgroup only.

    Hello,
the Computer browser service is still the same on the OS versions. See here why it is disabled and where to enable the service if NetBios is required.

  • Displaying PDF within Browser, but disabling Toolbars and Navigation Panel

I am currently working on the site for the University of Oregon Undergraduate Council, and my boss wishes me to disable the Toolbars and Navigation Panel that display when users open a PDF, as she finds them "distracting". Although I think this is a bad idea, is there a way to input code which would automatically hide or disable the use of Toolbars within a browser window? I know that users can disable these themselves via F8 and the like, but if anyone knows a way to disable (or more preferably, automatically hide) these without work on the part of the user, that would be most appreciated.

I don't know if a PDF is able to tell Acrobat what to do (or any other viewer from a different vendor) but, if it is possible, you might check the Acrobat Scripting Forum http://www.adobeforums.com/webx?13@@.3bbedaa6

  • YouTube iOS App--tells me "browser cookies disabled"

    - iOS 8.2
    - YouTube App latest from App Store (10.11.11546)
    - iPhone 6
When I try to log into the official YouTube app on iOS, I get the error:
"Oops! your browser seems to have cookies disabled..."
There is NO WAY to enable or disable cookies in the official google YouTube app.
I did make sure Safari had cookies enabled (even though I was NOT using Safari)
I was able to log into YouTube in Safari using this same google account.
I was NOT able to sign into the YouTube app with a different google account.
I am able to login to the YouTube app on my iPad with the same account as above.
    ANY IDEAS????

Google is being sleazy, trying to push its own app I guess.
1 - I am getting those "someone attempted to sign in..." emails telling me the recommended thing to do is download their Gmail app.  This attempted sign-in was on my iPhone with the built in Mail app.
2 - I cannot sign into the YouTube app unless I download and use the Gmail app as well.

  • Column Browser is disabled.

When I connect my iphone 4s  to itunes, the column browser is totally disabled and "greyed out" when I need to find something. It just shows a giant liste view. When I'm using iTunes regularly and going through my library, the column browser works fine. Is this just a really irritating new feature that the design clowns at Apple decided to bestow upon everybody to make them switch to Samsung?

    Hello Tom,
Do you have the *Manually manage music and videos* option ticked from under your iPod's Summary tab? If not, it may explain your inability to browse through your music on your iPod via iTunes.

  • How to disable via Group Policy - "Any user who has a password doesn't need to enter it when waking this PC"

The setting can be found in the following location:
From the “Charm” bar, Settings>Change PC Settings>Users>Sign-in Options> click the “Change” button next to “Any user who has a password must enter it when waking this PC”.
I am looking to disable this option via Group Policy on our domain, but am unable to find a default policy related to this setting.  I am searching Group Policy on a Server 2012 machine, and in local Group Policy in Windows 8, but have found nothing.
Hoping I'm just missing the location of this and someone can point me to the right place.

There is no specific policy for this item. Please set “Require a password on wakeup” policy instead.

I'm using Windows Server 2012 R2, and I can't find the above quoted policy, and don't know where to anymore where to look. I searched for "Require a password when the computer wakes up", but it took me to the "Define Power Buttons and Turn On
Password Protection" page of System Settings, but there's NOTHING there except the "When I press the power button".  I really want to stop having to enter a password every time I wake up the monitor screen.

  • Can Private Browsing be disabled?

Is it possible to disable the Private Browsing feature temporarily so it can not be accessed or used on a mobile devise. I do however wish to be able to turn it on at times.

    Hello,
As far as I know, there is no way to disable it in firefox fpr android. But the windows version doea have an option for that.

  • The left-click options in the web browser are disabled in the latest version

In all the previous versions of firefox I've had no issues in the drop down menu when left-clicking to either open a link in a new tab or save highlighted text or even saving an image to my drive. However now with the latest update (20.0.1) I have come across something which disturbs me by the full length of the drop down menu (too long, too much stuff on it) and half the options are disabled, which makes it harder for me to surf the web as I am used to doing. I have taken a screenshot of my issue . I hope it will help. Also, that my OS is windows 7. http://www.darkworlds.se/images/other/firefx20bug.jpg

This is a problem related to having an outdated version of Firebug, most likely you've disabled automatic update of addons.
The easiest way to fix this is to go to Tools -> Addons, and then clicking the wheel button up near the search field. From there you choose "Check for Updates" and unless you need specific versions of an addon, choose the "Update addons automatically" while you are there.
You will most likely have to update Firebug twice, as it updates to an outdated version, and from there to the newest one.
This is the solution I stumbled upon as I had the same exact problem, where I tried creating a new profile and the likes.

  • Oracle WSM local optimization disabled by any policy

I have a lot of composites on my Oracle SOA Suite 11g server.
They are succesfully invoking each other using Local Invocation / Optimization.
But since I am trying to attach any policy, local optimization disappear.
I have checked in Oracle EM - local optimization is enabled for this policies.
I have tried to force local optimization explicitly in composites - no result.

Yes, it is exactly what I want!
    I have specified my problem:
"But since I am trying to attach any policy, local optimization disappear."
Also I have specified that "I have checked in Oracle EM - local optimization is enabled for this policies."
    So can you suggest something?
