BT Infinity | 10 Day Settling/Line Training Period...

Hi all,
I've had Infinity installed for about a week now, initially enjoying great speeds of 37mbps downstream and 7mbps upstream. I was affected like everyone else by the FTTC line issues over the weekend which were resolved yesterday afternoon (around 3pm for my exchange). Last night I was back at 37/7 until I went to sleep at around 1am.
Today I woke to what I assumed was the same FTTC issue again, speeds of 2/7, but having read a little about the 10 day settling period or "line training" I am wondering, during this period is it normal to have such low speeds as 2mbps downstream? Also, why doesn't the training affect my upstream?
Any information would be greatly appreciated. I'm also not so clear on the effect that rebooting my equipment (modem specifically) might have on the settling process?
Cheers

I had an issue where the line from the cab was bad and this resulted in part of the line being replaced. However once the line was repaired the BB infinity speed did not increase back up to the 40mb it was at before. The engineer checked the speed at the cab and that had been throttled down to 26mb. The engineer then had to get somone at BT to go in and reset my profile. The speed is now up to 33 and I hope will increase back to its old speed. So if you have had lots of errors on your line power cycling might not be an effective method of getting your speed back and like me BT will have to reset your profile for you.

  • Infinity 2 'Training Period'

Is there a line training period for Infinity 2 installations? If so, is this 3 days, 10 days or something else? Cant see anything anywhere on the Help pages.
Once the training period is up, do you need to power cycle both the BT modem and HH3 router or just one, if so which?
    Ta!

    Yes, up to 10 days.
You're meant to turn your HomeHub off for 30 seconds, but it won't make a difference. You can just restart it to update the profiles...

  • Service keeps repeating line training.

    Hi all,
For some reason my line keeps going into line training mode.
I was upgraded to ADSL2+ on 9 Aug 2010. Line training, as expected, completed after 10 days and my line settled to an acceptable 15Mb/1Mb Down/Up. Fantastic.
I noticed during line training it was operating in Fastpath mode, and once training was complete it switched to Interleave. Once again as expected and no problem there.
Five days after line training comleted I noticed that my line had gone back into Fastpath mode and the typical daily change in speed and noise margin experienced during line training seemed to be happening again. Once again I watched it go through it's 10 day cycle and finally settle to 15Mb/1Mb Down/Up and change back to Interleave. Ok, just an anomaly I thought, service is still fantastic, not worried.
Today, about 5/6 days after the last line training phase I noticed my line has once again gone back to Fastpath mode and the typical pattern of line training seems to have started again.
Is this going to be a neverending cycle? I hope not, as the line training phase is not the most stable situation to be in, as the loss of synchronisation causes me to have to manually reconnect via my router in order to pick up the new IP address.
Anyone know what could cause this repeated cycle of line training?
My line attenuation (14db Down / 3 db Up) and noise margin (3db Down / 6 db Up) seem to be excellent and are not a problem.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi Campotech,
It's strange that your interleaving mode keeps changing - if you could drop me an email I'll see what's going on. Click on my profile to get our address, I'll need your forum username and BT account or telephone number.

  • 10 days training period after line reset

    Hi,
So on Monday morning the engineer finally turned up and did line reset which in results I was getting my full speed (47.5/9). And very low pings 16ms to bbc.co.uk, abou 6ms on 1st hop but this morning hh5b decided to restart in results my ping went up by 12ms, now 28ms to bbc.co.uk and it decreased my speed by 3mb. Can anyone explain me how 10 days of training period works? I thought the router must stay stable for more than 10 days. Is it still training my line after router drop?
I suspect interleaving turned on on my line but why after only 2 days instead of 10 training days?
I have been told by engineer that I am very far away from the cabinet around 800m and that the line is working in 100% just after line reset and it wont stay like that.
    Best regards

Tonight I have noticed that I can't open any website (it takes about 3 minutes to open any website) and I am having a high packet loss on teamspeak3. The Noise Margin dropped from stable 6.0 to 4.5-5.0. It forces me to reboot my router but I don't want to, because my speed will drop and ping will go up occasionally. What can I do in that situation?
    Some stats:

  • Training period speeds

I've just had BT Infinity 2 installed. As you can see it running a little slower than I was expecting given that ADSL gave me 1/19Mbps using the same router. The router data is:
    3. Firmware version:
Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.204 (Type A) Last updated 11/01/15
    4. Board version:
    BT Hub 5A
    5. DSL uptime:

    6. Data rate:
    13277 / 52721
    7. Maximum data rate:
    12569 / 53106
    8. Noise margin:
    5.6 / 6.1
    9. Line attenuation:
    29.8 / 20.8
    10. Signal attenuation:
    29.8 / 18.8
    11. Data sent/received:
    188.7 MB / 2.7 GB
The availability checker suggested the following:
    FTTC Range A (Clean)
    73.4
    54
    20
    16.5
    Available
    FTTC Range B (Impacted)
    64.8
    35.1
    20
    10.7
    Available
    WBC ADSL 2+
    Up to 14
    8 to 18.5
    Available
    WBC ADSL 2+ Annex M
    Up to 14
    Up to 1
    8 to 18.5
    Available
Will my speed improve over the training period? Should I re-boot the router (I haven't done so with the switch from ADSL switch to VDSL)?

there isn't a training period on Fibre connections.
When your line has been first provisioned, you may notice that your band is set to the ‘open profile’ which is likely to be either; 0.128M-40M or 0.128M-80M on the downstream and either 0.128M-20M or 0.128M-10M (depending on whether you’re on an up to 38Mbps or 76Mbps product). your line will be left on an open profile for 2 days initially to allow the line to adjust following the installation.
If DLM ever needs to act on your line, you’ll never be set to that open profile again, the highest profile you can be assigned would be 40M-80M (sync rate dependant). There are three levels of Interleaving – off, low and high, If Interleaving is applied on low your latency will be increased by around 8ms and 16ms on high.

  • FM or Tcode for No.of days employee attended Training in HR ABAP

    Hi Experts,
I need to calculate No.of Days employee attended training in given payroll period level.
For ex, iam giving 01.2010 FY (Payroll Period 21.04.2010 to 20.05.2010) .
Need to find out how many days each employee under traning during this period.
In PA30 we can see his status (pa00001-stat1 = '2') but i need to calculate how many days he is under traning .
In PA30, we can see the status changed from Training to Shopfloor or something, Since he is active his end date is 31.12.9999.
Could  you please tell me where can we see traning information in System (tcode or table or Std program).
    Regards
    SK

    Hello
You can see the training attended by an employee in the tcode PSV1 and PSV2. If you have LSO implemented in the system, then it will be LSO_PSV1 and LSO_PSV2.

  • Difference Between Current Day and fist day of the payroll period

    Hi,
How do i find the difference between the current day and the first day of the payroll period with period parameter XX.
Operation VARSTFDYXX is used to decide if the current day is the first day of the payroll period. But is there any operation available to check the difference in exact number of days.
I know hrs=y is used to find difference between current day and a date specification record from IT0041, but i need to check difference between current day and first day from a payroll period parameter.
    Any response is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Imaneul Rajiv

No! haven't seen it at all! Do I have to drain the battery completely and then charge it? I did that the first day I bought the phone and yet the stats are the same for me
PS: I am referring to the Call Time stats and not the Usage/Standby stats

  • How to get the last day of the payroll period

    Hi all,
I need to get the last day of the payroll period e.g. last day of Jan 2007 is 31 Jan 2007. Can anyone suggest as to how to get it?
    Thanks,
    Madhu

T549S contains the payroll periods with pay date.  T549Q contains the begin and end dates of the payroll period.
You can select from the appropriate table (or from both depending on your given data) to get the end date of the period.
    Hope that helps.

  • Down Payment settlement Line is not appearing in the final Billing

    Hello All,
Activated the Milestone billing plan. Created a Sales order > Down payment Billing document > and cleared the Down payment billing document.
While trying to bill the final invoice the down payment settlement line is not appearing.
Please suggest us what would be the probable reason for this to resolve the issue.
Checked in detail and found in the table BSID the field sales document ( VBEL2) is populated with blank and not with the sales order number.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Madhan.

    Hi
When you create a final invoice the downpayment clearing line is retrieved using function
module SD_DOWNPAYMENT_READ. The function module will not be able to find the
downpayment if the VBEL2 and POSN2 fields are not filled.
If the downpayment is posted and cleared correctly in F-29 (this is the only way) these
fields will be filled and the document should be retrieved and the value transferred to the
    AZWR condition.
    Run VF01 with a breakpoint in SD_DOWNPAYMENT_READ
go to the end of the function module you will see the structure t_sdaccdpc
This is filled with all valid entries for clearing. I suspect in your case it is missing.
Try posting a new example in using F-29 make sure it shows cleared in the
document flow then check at this point above in the final invoice
    Hope this helps you further
    Kind regards
    Brian

    Hi,
    Please try this.
    PARAMETERS: P_START LIKE SY-DATUM,
                P_END   LIKE SY-DATUM.
    DATA: DAYS    TYPE I,
          WEEKDAY LIKE DTRESR-WEEKDAY.
    DAYS = P_END - P_START.
    DO DAYS TIMES.
      CALL FUNCTION 'DATE_TO_DAY'
        EXPORTING
          DATE    = P_START
        IMPORTING
          WEEKDAY = WEEKDAY.
      IF WEEKDAY = 'Sat.'.
        WRITE: / P_START.
      ENDIF.
      P_START = P_START + 1.
    ENDDO.

  • Determine the number of days in a False period in a Temporal Boolean

    Hi all,
I need to determiine the number of days based on a condition that lies on the gaps between the periods.
My input consists of multiple periods. The length of the gap is the condition to determine the start date for summation. However, there can be multimple gaps between my instances that satisfy this condition and I need the last one that satisfies it.
    For example:
    period 1: 1-1-1990 until 31-12-1992
    period 2: 1-1-1994 until 31-12-1996
    period 3: 1-1-1998 until 31-12-1999
    period 4: 1-6-2000 until 31-12-2009
The condition for the start date is the last gap greater than 1 year. In this example, the start date should be the start date of period 3: 1-1-1998, because this is the period after the last gap >= 1 year. Period 2 also has a previous gap of >= 1 year, but this period should NOT be selected.
My first idea was to use a TBR function: to determine relevant periods (based on the gaps before and after), calculate the amount of days per relevant period and add those up. However, if I want to do that I need to calculate the number of days in the gaps and I don't see how to do that, since I cannot determine a day difference across periods (end date period 1 until start date period 2).
    Any help/ other solution ideas?
    Kind regards, Els

This was an interesting puzzle which you can solve from a couple of different angles.
Firstly, you can use inferred relationships to infer a relationship "the following periods" (ie. the periods that follow the current one). My rules looked like this:
the period (the other period) is a member of the following periods if
the other period start date > the period start date
the period’s next start date = InstanceMinimum(the following periods, the period start date)From here it should be easy to see if there was a gap of more than a year, and find the most recent period after a year-long gap. Of course you need to deal with the situation of the last period, when there is no 'next' period, presumably you would use the date of assessment in that case, but I'll leave that as an exercise for the reader.
A completely different way of doing it is to use the TemporalConsecutiveDays function to find a date where a gap of 365 days exists, then select periods in which there is a gap immediately before the start of that period. Here are some rules that :
there is a period that applies if
       ExistsScope(the periods)
          TemporalOnOrAfter(the period start date) and
          TemporalOnOrBefore(the period end date)
there is a year-long gap if
TemporalConsecutiveDays(365, 365, there is not a period that applies)
the period starts after a year-long gap if
ValueAt(the period start date, there is a year-long gap)
the start date for calculation = InstanceMaximumIf(the periods, the period start date, the period starts after a year-long gap)Hopefully one of these is suitable for your needs.
    cheers,
    Steve.
