Budgeting at cost center level

Dear All,
Can anyone please tell me how to go about activating availability control for cost centers.I want to do budgeting at cost center level for each cost element.

In transaction code KP06 you have the facility for to enter the plan data for cost centre and cost element but no availability control i.e. it will allow to do further transaction even if the actual exceeds Plan.
For budgeting you can use KPZ2 which is also for cost centre only (without cost element)budgeting without availability of control.
Both these you can maintain peridically.
Report S_ALR_87013611 - Cost Centers: Actual/Plan/Variance which will give plan vs actual and variance
S_ALR_87013648 - Range: Actual/Budget/Commitments

There is a work around...
You can create one Statistical IO for each cost center and upload your budget in it...
Keep the same nomenclature for IO as the Cost center i.e. If cost center name is 123456, have the same name for IO as well
In Substitution OKC9, you can use a Field to Field Mapping and populate same IO as the Cost center no in the posting or you can also use exit RGGBS000

Budgeting on account & cost center level

Hi ALL, My company is planning to implement SAP in the near future and I'm taking the SAP course now. According to what SAP instrcutor said, budgeting cannot be done on account & cost center level. In my company, our current practice is to record all budget figures under account & cost center level and for every expense (invoice or journal) input, account & cost center would be the mandatory fields so that budgeting can be monitored in such level.
Can anyone tell me how this can be handled in SAP?

i hope that your instructer is not a real time guy.
we have to do Budgeting at cost center lavel in Cash Budget management. why because that is (Cost Centyer)Orgnisational level Responsibility Area
and item level in Funds mangement.
But for every expence you want do the budget you have to implement Funds mange ment Module.
then your item level budgeting will be solved.

OLM : Can we define Budgeting at learning center level

Hi All,
1. Can we define budget at Training center level and when defining the course based budget amount need to validate the course amount should not exceed defined budget
amount at training center level ?
2. Also whenever we define the course budget amount under the training organization. The course budgeted amount should be deducted from training center over all budget and validated when defining the next course
How to achieve this ? is any workaround can be suggested

Just with reference to the user guide, got the below statement
"Develop and Budget for Courses
You can assign budgets both for the development of new courses and for the running
costs of all classes scheduled for a course. You can assign instructors and other
resources for course development."
"Price courses: create budgets and create price lists, if appropriate".
Believe we can do the budgeting cost at the class & course level. Or with price list functionality we can capture the cost for course.

How to define Budget on Profit Center level

Hi All,
is it possible to define a budget on profit center level in SBO 2005A SP01.
My understanding ist, that a budget can only be defined on account level (if marked as 'relevant for budget).
If not possible - any idea/solution how to do it?

As this is not a standard feature in SAP Business One, the best alternative is to add a User Defined Table with a column for Profit Center and Distribution Rule and/or G/L account. Bear in mind that the profit center totals are not stored in a table in SAP Business One, but rather calculated from the JDT1 (journal rows) table each time you request a report for a profit center/(s).
By writing your own query you could join the JDT1 table with your UDT and get the comparisons, etc. The table JDT1 contains a link only to distribution rules and not profit centers and would therefor have to be represented somehow in the UDT.
The only other alternative is an SDK add-on custom written for this.

Org Level, fund center/cost center level restriction for tcodes????

I am looking to see whether org level restriction and cost center/fund center level restriction is possible for certain set of transactions.
I am using USOBX table for this analysis. This table has a check flag field ( same as in SU24) which says whether the Tcode (program) does the authority check for certain auth objects. Example- X (checked but not maintained in USOBT). This table pulls up several authorization objects under the 'X' category. However, when I do the System trace for the same tcode, all the objects (marked as X) are not captured. Instead only a few are captured.
Can we rely on the USOBX data or should we do system Trace for every tcode. I am just pulling a report and not creating roles at this point. So trace is time consuming. But data reliability is equally important.
My objective is to verify whether org level and cost center/fund center level restriction is possible or not for some tcodes.
Do you have any suggestion to achieve this faster (through USOBX or any other means)?

I would suggest you to check USOBX_C and USOBT_C instead of USOBX and USOBT as it will have your customization as well and not just the standard ones given by SAP.
Also when check field is X ...it means the object is checked but not maintained for the t-code as you already said but I am not sure how much it will help you as the they will not be pulled by PFCG when you are creating the role until you change the object to Check / maintain . When you do that the check field will be Y and not X. So basically it is the Y one which you need to see.
Going for trace is time consuming for every t-code and I am not sure if it really needed. When your roles are in testing phase and are tested by the functional team or the team which needs it and if they are missing some object, you can run a trace and find the missing object....
I am not sure on what basis you want to change some field to Org level ...but typically it is done if you want to do segregation of roles based on these org level. There could be various other reasons and it is better to talk to your functional counterparts before changing a field to Org level.
for ex : If you want to segregate on company code, you will create co. code as Org level and create roles for different company code.

Table for "Budget planning : Cost Center"

can anyone pls tell me table for "Budget : Cost Centre" . We create budget with respect to cost center in KPZ2/KPZ3 but i am unable to find out in which this data can be found.

You can do it yourself.
goto transaction St05. activate the trace. then execute the transaction. after execution goto st05. click deactivate trace.
then click display trace...hit enter button. a list will be displayed. goto menu bar choose first menu then choose option "Summarice sql statements"...a list will be displayed from which you can know what all tables were affected by the transaction.

Budgetting for Cost Center

Can you please inform me whether its possible to stop the posting in a cost center after it has exceeded the budget, like we do it for internal orders, if yes then kindly infrom me the way (transaction codes) by which we could do that.

One alternative way if you mandatorily require the Cost Center not to be posted is:
1. Create an internal order with same budget amount as the cost center.
2. Create a substitution in order that once this cost center is input the system substitutes internal order you created. This happens without the knowledge of the user.
This is effectively making your cost center not to be posted beyond the budgeted amount since system does not allow to post:
1. if amount exceeds internal order budget amount, and
2. the Cost center can only be posted if internal order has enough room.
This can be your posible alternative if you don't get a better solution than this.

Hi Ash,
We had similar requirement from one of the client.
You cant but any control on cost center budgeting. You can just define this and check this at regular intervals. But if you would like to have an alternative then you can go ahead creating Internal orders for some major expenses on which you would like to have control. You can have statistical IO's for this purpose.
But there are certain disadvantges for the above alternative,
First, the client has to go ahead putting both cost center and IO's in the FI entries when passed.
Second, You can't have too much of IO's only for this purpose.

Copy from planning to Budget in Cost Center Accounting (Controlling)

Hi to All,
Currently we are using the SAP 4.6C Version.
Is there anyway to copy the planned version into Cost Center Budget when using the TCODE:KPZ2 (Cost Center Budget).
SAP has provided the same option when dealing with Internal Orders. We can copy the Planned Version by Edit->Copy View and in Setting->Planned Total Version we can set the version what we want.
Is there any way to perform the above funtionality under Cost Center Accounting.

Special Gl itmes at cost center level

My client was asking for cost center wise spcial gl items outstanding. Means they want to see special gl items i.e advance to vendors/advance from customers at cost center wise. So this possiable or not. Please let me know the process steps for the configuration.

Yes i know special gl items are booked on balance sheet items. cost cneter are booked for p&l accounts. But My client was assking for the requirement. I might be it is not possiable. If there is any why to monitiring the report or not. I want confirmation. As Possiable or not.
